Who Are You Again?
Based on the following ask: I had another plot thought! Aaron x BAU Reader (female or gender neutral) where Reader disobeys an order to save a victim and gets hurt really bad. Reader wakes up in the hospital to Aaron who is angry at first but then is shocked when it turns out that Reader has retrograde amnesia from the injury. Reader has forgotten their entire career in the BAU and even that They and Aaron were secretly dating! Last thing Reader actually remembers was attending a lecture in college where Aaron was a guest speaker and Reader developed a crush on him! Now Aaron has to carefully navigate helping Reader recover without outing their relationship to anyone else. Or maybe he wonders if it's better they forget? But for a HEA ending definitely Aaron doing something romantic sparks a memory and helps everything come flooding back. @nyxwolph thank you for requesting again and trusting me with your ideas! – I did have to change things up a bit (I struggled big time with this one)

“In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state.” Essentially, something as small as a butterfly flapping its wings could cause something as catastrophic as a tornado.
Aaron wondered what small event happened that led to this moment right now. A moment that would change the trajectory of your lives forever.
*36 hours earlier*
“Garcia has the unsubs location; he’s headed down a backroad just east of the 95.” Aaron said.
“He’s devolving, he’s probably going to try and dispose of his latest victim.” Morgan chimed in.
“Not if we have anything to do with it.” JJ replied.
“His location is being shared with you all, everyone be safe, at this point he’s going to be willing to do anything to avoid prison.” Hotch added.
“I’m close by, I am going to go try and cut him off.” You suggested.
The team expressed their worry and care and urged you to be careful. The only thing you had on your mind, however, was saving the five-year-old boy this unsub had hidden. You drove as fast as your vehicle would allow, you had to get to the unsub. You had to save that boy.
As you got closer to the location Garcia had shared, you could see the dust trail the unsubs car was leaving down the road. You thought about your options, and you made a snap decision. Drive on, no matter the consequences – take out the unsub’s car. So that’s what you did.
You drove forward and your car t-boned the unsubs, only you hadn’t considered that he’d be driving a semi tractor. Upon impact, your SUV was crushed, in your rush to get to the unsub you’d forgotten to put on your seatbelt and your body was ejected through the windshield.
The accident was enough to stop the unsub long enough for the team to arrive. As they surveyed the scene, Aaron’s stomach dropped. He immediately began barking orders, demanding medics, and sending agents to the unsubs’ farm to find the boy.  Throughout everything he refused to leave your side.
*Present Day*
“Sir, we had to place her in a medically induced coma to allow the swelling in her brain to go down.” The doctor explained.
“Is there an estimate as to how long it’ll be until she wakes up?” Aaron asked.
“With these kinds of injuries, it’s hard to say. The brain is a tricky thing, and no two injuries are alike. We just have to wait and see.”
“Thank you.” Aaron said, shaking the doctor’s hand.
Your doctor made her exit and Aaron moved to the seat beside your bed. He gently took your hand in his own placing a kiss to the back of it before returning it to your side. Aaron had thought back to the night everything changed.
*One year earlier*
“Hey Hotch, here’s that report you asked for. You aren’t staying are you?” You asked, glancing at your watch.
“Thanks, and yeah I had a few things I needed to finish up.”
You made your way over to Aaron’s couch, dropped your bag to the floor, and shrugged your jacket off. You pulled your phone out to see what was still open for delivery in the area. Aaron and you had shared many nights like this, spending late nights together in his office. The two of you had grown very close over the years, so much so that David had outright asked Aaron if you two were dating. To which Aaron let out an awkward chuckle and denied the accusation. If only he knew.
“What are you doing? You should head home.” Aaron said.
“Well, you should too, and you aren’t, so I guess that means we’re ordering dinner.” You smiled at him.
“I love you.” Aaron said simply.
“What?” You were stunned.
“I’m sorry, that was inappropriate. I didn’t – I um….”
“Say it again.”
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Aaron made his way over to you, gently caressed your face and kissed you. It was everything you had ever imagined. There had been this tension between the two of you over the last two years and it was all finally coming together.
After that night, Aaron and you had agreed to keep your relationship under wraps, to avoid any potential disruption to the team, but also any question as to your position on the team. Aaron didn’t want anyone to question the fact that it was your skills and resume alone that got you to where you are.
Yours and Aaron’s relationship blossomed after that night, but not without hardships. Aaron and you faced a lot of adversity in multiple aspects of your relationship; you had a hard time trusting people, Aaron had been self-conscious of your age gap, and you both couldn’t help but feel that you weren’t good enough for the other (not that either of you would bring it up).
*Present Day*
A tear fell from Aaron’s eye, he couldn’t fathom losing you. This was all part of the reason he didn’t want to get serious with someone after Haley, but then you came into his life. You’d come in and made yourself known with your kind eyes and witty charm; how could he not fall in love with you.
Aaron fell for you slowly then all at once, it came naturally, and he couldn’t help it. He knew that the team had their suspicions and honestly over the last year there had been some close calls, but you had ultimately maintained the secrecy of your relationship.
In this moment, Aaron couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt and regret over the fact that he’d asked you to keep things quiet. Had he let the team in on your relationship, he could’ve done a better job at keeping you safe.
*2 Weeks Later*
Aaron had been by your side as much as possible over the last two weeks, which is exactly where he was when you started to stir. Aaron shot straight up in his seat, his hand quickly reaching for your own.
You couldn’t help the groan that escaped your throat, your body hurt so bad, and you felt very confused. You attempted to open your eyes but immediately regretted it – the bright fluorescents adding to the pounding in your head. As you blinked through the brightness of the room, you glanced over to your bedside, noticing a tall man seated there.
“What on earth were you thinking? Driving into the unsub like that, you could’ve been killed. Your actions were reckless and unacceptable.” The man scolded you.
You couldn’t find it in you to reply, your head was pounding. You brought your hand up to your forehead and gently press the heel of your palm into it, hoping to alleviate some of the pressure.
“Sweetheart hold on, I’ll go get your doctor.” A deep voice sounded from your bedside.
Before you could question the pet name, you heard the sound of his dress shoes clicking against the linoleum floors.
The man returned with your doctor; he dimmed the lights slightly on his way back to your bedside. He moved to grab your hand again, to which you shifted, wringing your hands nervously in your lap.
“Hello, I’m doctor Raynor. How are you feeling?”
“Like I was hit by a truck, what happened?” You questioned, giving your doctor and the man a once over.
You recognized the man; it was Special Agent Hotchner of the BAU. What was he doing here? What happened?
“Well, you were involved in an accident, can you tell me what you remember?” Dr. Raynor inquired.
“I um, well, I was leaving a lecture.” Your gaze shifted to Agent Hotchner “Your lecture actually, you were talking about MO’s. I guess the accident was after that?” You couldn’t help but notice Agent Hotchner’s expression faulter.
Your doctor looked over at Agent Hotchner and he shook his head. The two of them seemingly knew something you didn’t. You couldn’t help but feel like you’d just given the wrong answer in front of the class. Dr. Raynor had gone through the rest of your injuries with you, multiple lacerations that had required stitches, a few broken ribs, a broken wrist, and of course your TBI. Once she was done she gave you a somber look.
“Would you excuse us for just a moment? I am going to send in one of your nurses to check you over and I’ll be back in just a moment.” Dr. Raynor said.
“Oh, okay.”
Dr. Raynor and Agent Hotchner left your room, and you tried your best to listen to their conversation.
*Hotch’s POV*
She doesn’t remember me, well us. It’s like the last five years have just disappeared.
“Agent Hotchner, I gather that the lecture she’s referring to did not occur two weeks ago when she was brought in.”
“No, that lecture was nearly five years ago.” I explained.
“This would be a case of retrograde amnesia, if she’s lost recent memories.” Dr. Raynor replied.
“Will her memory return?”
“It’s hard to say.”
While Aaron was completely devastated, he couldn’t help the doubt that creeped into his mind, telling him “This is for the best”.
*Normal POV*
Dr. Raynor and Agent Hotchner looked extremely serious, and you started to feel nauseous. Something was obviously wrong. You watched as their conversation ceased and they made their way back into the room.
Something must have happened, why would Agent Hotchner be here.
“Alright, it would appear that due to the brain trauma you sustained in your accident, you are experiencing what we describe as retrograde amnesia. This is when you can’t recall memories from your past. Based on your most recent memory, it appears as if you’ve lost approximately five years.” Dr. Raynor explained.
“Five years? Five years of memories are just gone. I don’t understand. If that’s true then why are you here?” You asked gesturing to Agent Hotchner.
“Well, you work for the BAU. You have for about three years now.”
“I do? I – I, this is a lot. What does this mean? Have you called my emergency contact?” You asked.
“I uh – I am your emergency contact.” Agent Hotchner spoke up.
“What, why? It has always been my mom, I don’t understand.”
“I’m so sorry, your mom, she uh – she passed last year. That’s when you switched it over to me.” Agent Hotchner’s gaze shifted down to his shoes.
“She’s gone?” Your voice cracked.
“Okay, this has been quite a bit of information. The most important thing right now is getting healthy. We want to keep you here a little longer to continue monitoring the swelling in your brain. Once we’ve confirmed it has gone down, you’ll want to get back in your usual routine, that is the best shot at getting your memory back.” Dr. Raynor gently patted your leg.
“How am I meant to get back to my normal routine when I don’t know it? The one person I had, I just found out is dead.”
“Given that Agent Hotchner is your emergency contact, we would be able to release you into his care. For now, we just need to stay positive.” With that, Dr. Raynor made her exit.
“I know this is a lot, but the BAU, we’re like a family, that includes you. Each member of the team is going to be willing to do anything to help you throughout this process.” Agent Hotchner said.
Part of you knew you could trust him; he had kind eyes, and you knew he was genuine. However, the other part of you felt so hopeless, like a lost kid in a department store. How were you meant to go home with this man who you didn’t know.
*Five Days Later*
“Do you have everything?” Aaron asked.
He had been with you every day for the last five days. He had brought you some things from your apartment and asked you to call him Aaron for now while you were “getting to know him”. You had to admit, it had been pretty nice talking with him the last few days.
“I think so!” You looked over at him. “I know that I am meant to be staying with you, at least until I’m fully healed, but could we go to my apartment first? I’d like to see it and maybe go through some of my things?”
“Of course we can.” Aaron nodded, gesturing towards the door.
The drive to your place was filled with small talk, mostly you asking Aaron questions about the BAU and the time you’ve spent there. It felt weird asking the man who is technically your boss about your personal life.
When you arrived, Aaron made sure to open your door for you and carry your bag into your home. He led you inside and you couldn’t help but notice how comfortable he seemed in your place, like he’d been there before. Like he belonged there. You shook the thought from your mind.
“I got you a new phone, it’s all set up for you.” Aaron said handing you the device.
“Thanks! Were they able to back up the old one? I was hoping to go through old texts and pictures to gather some insight into my life. God that sounds weird.” You huffed out a breath.
“I have our technical analyst Penelope Garcia working on that for you.” Aaron informed you.
“That’s great, thank you.”
The truth was, Aaron didn’t have Garcia backing up your old phone, at least not yet. He knew that if he had brought it to her she would uncover all the private texts and photos that you two had shared over the last year. He didn’t want to risk everyone finding out about your relationship, especially now when he wasn’t sure what your future would hold.
Aaron watched you as you made your way around your apartment. You wandered slowly around letting your fingers graze the spines of books on your shelves, picture frames on the walls and tchotchkes that were strewn about your desk and shelves.
He so badly wanted to pull you into his arms, kiss your head and tell you that everything was going to be okay. He wanted you to know that he wasn’t just your boss. But he also thought about all the things that could go wrong if he told you. You could question your own ethics and fall into self-loathing with the thought that you’d potentially slept your way to the top – this was the furthest thing from the truth, but he knew you and the way your mind spiraled. He wondered if it would just be easier if he let you find yourself all on your own, to let this thing between you go and hope that maybe you’d find your way back to him again.
When he looked over to you once again, he saw that you had found a photo album. It was one he was very familiar with; Garcia had gotten it for you on your 1-year BAU anniversary and filled it halfway. Since then, you’d continue to add to it all the photos you’d taken with the team.
You hadn’t realized you were crying until a tear had fallen onto the picture you were currently examining. Your emotions were running high, looking through the album was so strange it felt like looking at a stranger and yet it was you in photo after photo looking happier than ever with these people you couldn’t remember.
You felt the couch dip beside you and Aaron gently rubbed his hand up and down your back.
“I can’t imagine how overwhelming this all must be. I know that I can’t understand but I am here for you and I’m happy to lend an ear if you want to talk about it.” Aaron quietly soothed you.
“Thank you so much Aaron. I just don’t know how to wrap my head around this being me but not remembering it. Clearly you all mean so much to me and yet I have no recollection of any of this.” You sobbed.
Aaron and you sat like that on your couch for a while. He gave you the time you needed to calm down, while holding you, whispering sweet nothings to you. You felt oddly comfortable there in his arms, your mind shifted to the thought that enjoying the way his arms felt around you was also incredibly inappropriate given that he was your boss. At that thought you shifted slightly. You thought back to why you had signed up to audit Aaron’s lecture and while the main reason was the knowledge he’d lend you, a part of you allowed his looks to give you that final push in signing up.
“I should probably grab a few things so we can head out.” You whispered.
“Do you need any help?” Aaron asked.
“I should be okay, but I’ll let you know!”
Aaron drove the two of you back to his apartment, for the time being he had asked Jessica to keep Jack, this way you could adjust, and Jack also wouldn’t out your relationship. Aaron had his guest bedroom set up for you, he’d set it up with some of your favorite things. A lavender scented candle, extra pillows, a fluffy blanket, and he made sure to set a small trinket dish on the dresser, so you’d have a place to put your jewelry.
These of course were all things Aaron had previously had at his place for you. When you two had gotten increasingly more serious, he encouraged you to leave some stuff at his place and he’d gone as far as to supply some of your favorites around his home for you.
Aaron led you into his home and you couldn’t help but glance around, really taking in your surroundings. You couldn’t help but take note of a few things as he showed you around; there was a photo missing from the side table next to the couch (you could see the tiny bit of dust that must’ve collected around it), the pantry was stocked with quite a few of your favorite snacks, there was a pink coffee mug in the cabinet, and lastly, tucked under the shoe rack near the front door were a pair of fluffy gray slippers.
You couldn’t explain why, but there was a slight pang of jealousy in you as you thought of Aaron having a girlfriend. You knew you had no right to feel that way and it would be incredibly inappropriate, but it was a gut reaction.
*One Week Later*
Aaron and you had fallen into a weird sort of routine, it started to feel a lot like the 50’s, you making dinner and cleaning while he worked. You were starting to get a bit stir crazy, which is exactly why you were so excited today. Garcia would be coming by to see you; she was bringing over a bunch of photos and videos of you with the team throughout the last three years.
It was a paperwork catch-up day for the BAU, so Aaron had given Penelope the go ahead to take a long lunch and spend some time with you. So, when a knock on the door rang through the apartment, you couldn’t help the burst of excitement that coursed its way through your veins.
“Hi Penelope!”
“Hey babe! How are you feeling?” She asked, giving you a look of concern.
“I’m feeling pretty good, you know, except for the missing five years of memories thing.”  You let out a low chuckle.
“Oh goodness! Well, I’ve brought a ton of stuff that might help bring some stuff back. I read that sense of smell is the sense that links with memories the strongest so have a bunch of things for you to smell while you look at photos in hopes something will come back to you.”
“That sounds like a great idea!” You smiled at Penelope.
The next hour or so went by with Penelope showing you photos and videos along with passing you various items to smell in hopes of bringing back some of your memories. And while it wasn’t like a wave crashing over you, bringing all your memories back, it did bring some things back. You could remember the members of the BAU and some of their quirks, you remembered the feeling of being in the bullpen (thanks to the smell of some very burnt coffee). What you were struggling to regain was your emotional memories, you couldn’t quite pinpoint the relationships you had with anyone from the team.
“I am glad that this helped! I should probably get out of your hair though; I can tell you have headache.” Penelope
“Thank you Penelope, I really appreciate all of this!”
You led her to the door, and she reminded you to get some rest and to take it easy. She also suggested that you come by the BAU for lunch in the next week or so to see everyone. The team had been doing a good job of not overwhelming you and allowing you time to get back in the swing of things.
“Oh, Penelope before you go, did you get a chance to back up my old phone? Aaron said you were working on it.”
“Oh, hon. He must’ve forgotten to mention it, but I will get started on that right away! I’ll text you as soon as I’m done, okay? We will just be able to pull the backup and put it on your new phone!” She said pulling you into a tight hug, before making her exit.
Why would Aaron have lied to you about your old phone? Maybe Penelope was right, and it just slipped his mind, he had been dealing with a lot, taking care of you, and having you stay with him.
You hadn’t meant to snoop, honestly, but after having talked with Penelope, the feeling Aaron was hiding something from you was extremely prevalent. You decided to look around a bit, you know, while putting the laundry away. You needed to put the towels away in Aaron’s bathroom, you just happened to notice the second toothbrush in the holder, the dress hanging inside his closet (come on, the door was already open), the ring box tucked in his sock drawer, what shocked you the most were the photos in the hall closet. It was a photo of him and a tall brunette that had you spiraling, where was this woman? You had clearly been invading his space long enough and you couldn’t bear the thought of coming between him and this woman who was to be his fiancé.
You needed to get back to your life, and out of Aaron’s hair. You decided that you’d tell him that night over dinner, you were going to move back home.
“Hey, I’m home!” Aaron called.
“Hey, how was your day?” You asked.
Aaron explained that his day was good, and he asked you about your get together with Penelope as you finished up dinner. Aaron set the table as you followed behind him plating up the food.
“I’m glad to hear things went well with Penelope. I think lunch with the team is a great idea.”
“Aaron I’m gonna move back home.” The words flew out of your mouth faster than your brain could catch up. “I’m sorry, I just don’t want to impose on your life any more than I already have.”
“It’s truly not an imposition, but if that’s what you want.” Aaron looked deflated.
“I just think it’s important we both get back to our usual every day.”
“If you think that’s best.”
You two ate in silence. Afterwards you both went to the kitchen, cleaned up the dishes and made your way to your separate rooms. You began packing up your belongings and Aaron scrolled through photos of the two of you from before the accident.
*Two Days Later*
“Good morning gorgeous!!! I am calling to inform you that the backup from your old phone is ready, and I also think it is the perfect day for you to come in and have lunch with everyone!” Penelope sang over the phone.
“Okay, what time should I come down there?”
“Ummm maybe around 12:30? Everyone is usually ready to eat by then. I can call and order in something too!”
“Oh, and uh Pen, I don’t know the address, and I’m not cleared to drive.” You said shyly.
“Oh shoot, okay! I’ll see who is available to come and pick you up, no worries.” Penelope reassured you.
You took some time getting ready, most of the team hadn’t seen you since before the injuries, and while the cuts and bruises have faded and scarred, you still had a very broken wrist and frequent headaches, along with PTSD and anxiety attacks thanks to the TBI. You felt like you had been doing well, and based on your recent check-up with your neurologist, things are trending up in regard to your health. Though you began to worry that the worst had yet to come.
A knock on your door shook you out of your thoughts, as you made your way to answer it, you wondered who Penelope sent to get you. Pulling the door open revealed someone you were hoping you wouldn’t see so soon.
“Hi Aaron.”
“Hello, were going to go pick up the food on the way back to the BAU, if that’s okay.” Aaron explained.
“Yeah, that’s fine.” You nodded.
The drive was filled with tense silence. You couldn’t help but wonder why Aaron would harbor any negative feelings towards you. You’d only moved out of his apartment so he could get back on to his life, if anything he should be grateful that you’ve gone home. One of the main reasons you’d really decided to go home was because of the fact that you were growing far too comfortable.
Things at Aaron’s house were starting to feel right, like it was where you belong. You had no idea how you had been able to work with him over the last few years, the crush you had on him all those years ago had only proven to grow stronger.
“I’ll run in and grab the food.” Aaron said, pulling you out of your thoughts.
Before you could reply, he stepped out of the car and made his way into the restaurant.
Aaron got you signed in with a visitor’s badge (as you weren’t cleared to work) and then he led you up to the sixth floor, BAU bullpen. Upon walking in, you felt an odd sense of familiarity. You knew that it would make sense for the BAU to bring memories back and that you would have muscle memory to help lead you through the building, but it felt very strange.
You looked over at Aaron, “I need to go see Garcia, do you mind pointing me in the right direction?”
“Of course, her office is that way. Second door on the right.”
“Thanks.” You smiled.
You wandered through the corridor, catching a glimpse of Garcia through her open door. You lightly knocked on her door and walked into her office.
“Oh! Hello gorgeous!” Garcia squealed, standing, and pulling you into a hug.
“Hey Pen!”
“Let’s get your phone squared away and then we will go eat.”
You handed your phone over to Penelope and she began downloading the last backup from your old phone.
“This should only take a few minutes.”
Penelope and you made idle chit chat for a few moments while waiting on your phone. When it finished uploading, she unplugged it and handed it to you. The two of you then made your way to the bullpen.
Lunch with the BAU was overwhelming to say the least. It was fun talking to everyone, but you could tell everyone was walking on eggshells and you could see the pity flash behind their eyes as you sat and explained your lack of memories with the people sitting before you.
After lunch, Aaron let everyone leave early. It had been a paperwork day and the team had been very productive. He told them all to go home, but of course to leave their phones on, just in case they had to leave. Emily offered to drive you home, given the close proximity of your apartments.
When you got home, you changed into some comfortable clothes and sat on the couch. You took a deep breath and unlocked your phone. There were two things you noticed while going through everything, the first being a significant number of photos saved and the second being the texts exchanged between you and your boss.
You decided to go through the photos first. There were plenty of you with the various members of the BAU, but what caught your attention was one image in particular, in it, you were laid in bed with your head resting on a man’s chest…the man being none other than Aaron.
You quickly switched over to your messages app. Clicking Aaron’s name, you saw the most recent text…
“Be careful sweetheart. I love you.”
Your mind was racing, what were you meant to think, why would he keep this from you? Was the ring meant for you? You needed to see him.
You ordered an Uber and made your way to the FBI building. You signed in, getting a visitors’ badge and headed up to the sixth floor.
“Aaron” You called out into the bullpen.
“Is everything okay? What are you doing here?” Aaron asked as he walked out of his office.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Tell you what?” Aaron questioned.
“That we were together.”
You gestured to your phone. Aaron dropped his gaze for a moment, before looking back to you. You could see the pain behind his eyes.
“Sweetheart, we had been keeping it a secret, and I don’t know, I guess I thought that maybe you’d be better off. I figured you might find someone more appropriate for you.”
“That wasn’t a choice for you to make. Aaron things have been confusing enough, losing my memory. But to have you lying to me, it’s total bullshit. How am I supposed to get my memories back if you are keeping such a big part of me a secret.” You couldn’t help the frustrated tears from slipping down your cheek.
Aaron reached for you and let his thumb brush the tear off your cheek. He stepped closer to you and brought his other hand to your cheek.
“I am so sorry. I should’ve told you from the get-go, I was scared. I thought that maybe I would tell you and you’d have to get to know me again and maybe you wouldn’t love me the way you did before. I also couldn’t help but think that I don’t deserve you and this was your perfect out. But that was selfish, I should’ve told you the truth.”
You leaned your head onto Aaron’s chest, and he wrapped his arms around you. He pressed a gentle kiss to your hairline and then he pulled back.
“Can I show you something?” Aaron asked.
You nodded and followed him to his office. Aaron led you around his desk and gestured for you to sit in his chair. He pointed to his computer screen, and you took note of the screen saver. It was a slideshow of pictures taken throughout your relationship, there were pictures of you at the FBI Gala, Jack’s soccer game, art museums, at Aaron’s home, at your apartment, etc..
It happened slowly, then all at once. A warm feeling flooded your veins, and a dull ache filled your head. Tears were steadily streaming down your face. You looked up at Aaron, and he met your gaze. A moment was shared before understanding washed over Aaron.
“I remember.”

you should totally do a messi x daughter fanfic. One where she is in a relationship with Kylian Mbappe’s brother, Ethan Mbappe.
I love you writing btw. it’s awesome. Keep the good work!
A/N: So about this request--seeing as Ethan Mbappe is underage, I'm uncomfortable writing something for him. I'll do the fic with Kylian Mbappe instead, but I'm sorry, I won't do Ethan seeing as he's 16 and barely even legal in France.
I also combined it with this request: "will u make a fan fiction about Messi x daughter in which the daughter is an actress and they all go to a, premiere or an award show where she is nominated (and she wins), with her. Also an after party part will be good!"
Face claim for most photos: Haley Lu Richardson
Messi x daughter!actress!reader (also Mbappe x reader)

yourusername: "Figures and Strangers" has officially ended production. I would like to thank everyone who I've worked with on this project; you have made every moment of this past year special, and I will remember our time together for the rest of my life.
"Figures and Strangers" is about family, love, and perseverance in the midst of hard times. While I may not have had hard times, the other themes of this movie pertained to my life when I auditioned:
Without my family's unwavering support and direction, I would not be where I am today; seriously, without my father, I wouldn't have been tipped off about Spielberg shooting his first film in Paris, and I would not be typing this today.
A year ago, I had gone on one date with the man I now call my love. Since that day, he has been with me through thick and thin: from nights spent crying over hard-to-memorize lines, to entire weeks when I was hardly home. He saw me through my highs in lows, through enjoying life then doubting every choice I've ever made. Honestly, I believe he's more love and understanding than man. I would have never known the man my father introduced me to would be such a blessing, but I am so glad to call him mine.
And, finally, perseverance: when I heard about this movie, I was still struggling with the notion that all I would ever be was my dad's child. I love my dad with all my heart and all my soul, but seeing myself called "Lionel Messi's daughter" instead of "Y/N Messi" in headlines about my own accomplishments damaged my self-esteem (not to mention all the "nepo baby" comments--yes, I read all of those). Yet, all of this motivated me to work even harder and persevere, as my character in "Figures and Strangers" does. I am glad to say that I am happy with where I stand right now, and I have made myself proud.
Anyways, to wrap this up, I'll quote the ever so wise Winnie the Pooh by saying how lucky I am having something that makes saying goodbye so hard. I am eternally grateful for everything that has happened in the past year because of "Figures and Strangers," and how it has transformed me as a person.
Thank you all again, and I'll see you in the movies.
~ Y/N Messi

Ms. "Rape is sexy" and her dog named "vagina."
A liar the 1st jury found not to be credible for the R act and the 2nd jury awards $83 million in damages because Trump called her a "liar."
Interesting how Epstein Islands Reid Hoffman funded this fake case and he's funding Nikki Haley's campaign.
The jury in the second E. Jean Carroll case against President Donald J. Trump has returned a verdict awarding the sex-obsessed writer $83 million.
The clerk read the verdict, which included $7.1 million for compensatory damages, $11 million more, and a $65 million punitive cost. Carroll’s lawyers had initially asked for between $7 million and $12 million.
The money is supposed to be used for a “reputational damage repair” program for Ms. Carroll, whose publicity and income have risen since her bizarre story about being raped by Trump in a department store in the 1990s first came to light.
By comparison, the multi-billion-dollar Bud Light is spending $7m on a Supercame to light.
By comparison, the multi-billion-dollar Bud Light is spending $7m on a Super Bowl ad to repair its reputation since its Dylan Mulvaney fiasco.
Ashlee Humphreys, the reputation repair “expert” who testified on behalf of E. Jean Carroll, admitted under cross-examination that she has no “real world” experience in the field. She is a Democratic Party donor.
The trial has been marred with bias from the judge, as well as having a tainted New York pool of evidently far-left jurors seeking to punish President Trump for his politics.
Nikki Haley donor and Jeffrey Epstein’s friend Reid Hoffman funded the case.
UPDATE – President Trump responded on Truth Social shortly after the verdict: “Absolutely ridiculous! I fully disagree with both verdicts, and will be appealing this whole Biden Directed Witch Hunt focused on me and the Republican Party. Our Legal System is out of control, and being used as a Political Weapon. They have taken away all First Amendment Rights. THIS IS NOT AMERICA!”

Emergency contact
Steve Harrington x reader :)
Prompt: loosely based off a modern family scene (I LOVE modern family). Where Haley runs off from her date with Arvin after meeting his parents, he then says something that upsets her and she runs off. She ended up in the hospital due to fainting (bc of the NERP stickers lol) and the nurse calls her emergency contact, which is her ex-boyfriends—my story isn’t exactly the same. But I hope you enjoy.
Warning: fainting, I don’t write so this may be terrible.
no use of y/n. could be gender neutral bc I didn’t use he/she besides the nurse and Steve.
Tumblr media
You don’t know what happened, but somehow you ended up in the hospital. The last thing you could remember was running around the neighborhood, and a man with a British accent asking if you’re okay.
Once you looked around to see if there was any evidence of what happened earlier, the nurse came in. “Good, you’re awake,” she says. You still looked at her confused, brows furrowed, she senses your confusion and says, “you passed out. A man on the street found you fainting and called for help. Have you been drinking water? It’s awfully hot out, and it seems you’re dehydrated.”
You thought back to earlier this week, maybe you could’ve been better at drinking water but other things have been on your mind. “I probably haven’t been drinking much water, no,” you respond. The nurse nods, but further asks, “how about your stress level? Has there been anything causing you deep amounts of stress?”
Well geeze, you think. How about things you could never imagine and almost putting your life in danger everyday along with your friends. Oh, and, your recent break up with Steve. You were together for a year, but were quite close before because of Dustin.
You were his babysitter because his mom didn’t trust him alone at home even if he could take care of himself, so you—his neighbor, took care of him. Dustin absolutely adored you, you always listened to his problems and was there for him. Not to mention, you were kind to everyone including his weird group of friends. He didn’t mean for you to get caught up in the madness of demodogs, Russians, and Vecna. But that’s just who you were, you wanted to help. With Dustin being stuck in the middle of you and Steve’s lovesick confessions about each other to the little boy, he grew tired and “parent trapped” the two of you. Both of you were grateful for Dustin because it gave you both the courage to confess to each other.
You forgot about the nurse and her question, as she’s staring at you with a worried look, waiting for an answer. You sigh, “I guess I have been under a huge amounts of stress.” She jots down some notes as you respond. “What you need to do now is rest, and drink plenty of water. You lost a lot of fluid, and you running and your added stress didn’t help. We suggest you stay here until the end of the day. Just so you can fully rest and drink as much water as you can. How does that sound?”
You silently nod without saying a word, and she walks out with a tight-lipped smile. You’re glad she said that you could stay for now because you’re not ready to leave and face reality. At least you could relax a little. You sink into your bed (and drink some water) and you remembered why you were running. You weren’t even a runner—you hate running and always wondered why people did it for fun.
You were running from your thoughts, you needed to get fresh air because all you could think about was Steve. The break up was really hard for you, and it’s only been 2 months. Though, it wasn’t a mutual break up. It wasn’t him who wanted to break up. It was you. You broke up with him.
You didn’t break up with him because you stopped loving him. Oh, no, you are hopelessly in love with him. Your insecurities got the best of you.
You and Steve’s relationship grew long after him and Nancy dated. You were a bit worried at first because you weren’t sure you’d live up to Nancy’s standards. But that’s exactly what Steve didn’t want, he needed someone who loved him. Someone who knew his worth and that was you. You both cared for each other so much. The kids admired you two, and Robin can feel the love you both had for each other. Yet she was disgusted at the same time.
Something happened when the whole vecna fiasco began. You could feel Steve slipping away and going towards Nancy. You thought you were going crazy because she’s with Jonathon, she wouldn’t do that to him. But the longer you all were together, the more you could see them falling for each other again.
It broke your heart.
You felt that you were right before, you’ll never be Nancy. So when everything was over, you broke up with him. You didn’t tell him the reason, which left him in confusion and sadness. Steve missed you so much, and not talking to you for 2 months was killing him. He needed to know the reason and win you back.
It seemed you weren’t lost in thought for too long, as the nurse comes back into your room. “We contacted your parents to come get you after you’re all rested up, but it seems they’re out of town. So-,” you interrupt, “yeah they went on a trip for their anniversary. It’s just me right now, I’ll take the bus after this.” You say without hesitation. You don’t want your friends to worry about you, especially Robin. Knowing her she will, and you can’t have her finding out you ended up in the hospital because you weren’t taking care of yourself.
“Well, we really suggest you have a trusted transportation back home. Plus, you’ll be on that bus ride forever. We looked at your emergency contact list and your boyfriend picked up. He should be coming soon.” You looked at her with wide eyes, you tried to tell her that Steve isn’t your boyfriend anymore and shouldn’t be coming here. But it was too late because as she said that, he was running in. He looked out of breath. You quickly noticed he was still in his Family Video uniform, so you knew he was in quite a rush to get here.
“Oh, no, no, no, please come back. He’s not-“ you called for the nurse, but gave up in defeat as she left the room.
“I’m so sorry, I came as fast as I could. Are you okay? What happened? She said you were dehydrated and running? Since when did you run? And-“ his questions kept spewing and it was overwhelming you. You took a deep breath. “Stop! Steve, it’s okay. I’m fine. You shouldn’t even be here right now. I didn’t know you were in my emergency contact list.”
“You’re not fine. You fainted! I was worried sick when they called me. I want to be here, I don’t care that you don’t want me to but I’m staying and bringing you home.” Why did he have to care so much? You weren’t together anymore. You thought he wouldn’t care anymore, but a small part of you might be glad he’s here.
You sigh and figured to just let him. You wanted to be stubborn but knew a bus ride home was a terrible idea. He took your sigh as a “fine.” Steve grabbed a chair and sat next to your bed. “So, you want to tell me why you were running? Again, running doesn’t sound like you.” You rolled your eyes at him, you hate that he still knows you so well. “I just wanted to try something new,” you tried to say confidently.
“Liar,” Steve immediately responds. You scoff. “You know what? Why don’t you go back to stacking movies. I was enjoying my quiet time here.”
“You know I can’t do that. I also don’t want to. Now tell me, what happened?” He said with so much love and worry. He was hoping that maybe he could find out why you called things off. You felt tears building up in your eyes. You quickly looked away as you didn’t want to talk about this with him. You were still so fragile. And you wondered why he was here when you were sure he went back to Nancy.
“…I needed some air. I know that it was me who broke off things with you but I’ve been having a hard time lately. I guess I was dehydrated, and my running didn’t help.” You respond timidly without making eye contact.
“Why did you break things off?” Steve asked with hope. He needed an answer. You throw your head back to your pillow, “Steve, I don’t want to get into this right now. I’m not in the headspace-“
“Please. I need to know why. I’ve been so confused these last two months. It felt like it came out of nowhere.”
“Came out of nowhere? You were falling for Nancy right before my eyes. I couldn’t stand it!” You blurted out. You realized what you said, and silently beat yourself up because you didn’t want to tell him it was because of Nancy.
“Nancy?” He said almost with a laugh, “you broke up with me because of Nancy?”
“Look, I saw how you guys were. It was like your love was rekindling for each other,” you said matter of fact. Steve rapidly shook his head. “There was no rekindling going on between us.”
“Well that’s what I saw. It hurt me a lot. I knew that I wasn’t right for you from the start, especially after your relationship with her,” he could almost feel your heart breaking. Steve grabbed your hand gently, making sure it was okay with you. “Sunshine, that may be what you saw, but it wasn’t. I was concerned for everyone’s safety at that time. Yes, Nancy and I had some history, but we both moved on. I just wanted to make sure she was safe too. I love you too much to ever leave you.”
Sunshine. He knew that was your weakness. He loved calling you that and you loved hearing it.
But you didn’t want that to win you over. “Well, we’re not together anymore. So, it doesn’t matter.” You cross your arms and look away. This time, Steve actually laughs, which makes you look back at him like you wanted to smack him for not being serious. “There it is,” he says. “What are you talking about?”
“You were like this when we first started dating. You were afraid that I still loved Nancy. But I tried to tell you that she was in the past. You don’t know how amazing you are and it hurts. Nancy and I broke up because she didn’t know my worth, but you do. I hate that you can’t see how I see you. You’re the most caring, loving, beautiful person. I love you more than my heart can handle.”
You feel like your broken heart has been healed. You felt ridiculous for ever jumping to conclusions without talking to Steve first. A tear finally rolls down your cheek, but you try to hide it. “I love you more than my heart can handle, too,” he wipes the tear off you with his thumb while holding your face. “I said that line first, you can’t steel it,” he jokes, which makes you laugh. He missed your laugh.
“I’m so sorry for breaking things off. I shouldn’t have done that. I missed you a lot. I’ve been a mess, as you can tell,” you gesture to the hospital room. “I don’t care anymore. I’m glad I’m on your emergency contacts. I get to take care of my sunshine again.”
You couldn’t take it anymore. You missed his lips on yours. You leaned into each other, and he gently held your face and kissed you like it’s been years without you. After a minute, he pulled away, “I don’t want to take your breath away even more. So that’s enough for now,” Steve said with a smirk. You rolled your eyes and slapped his arm.
After a few “I love you’s,” kisses, and him forcing you to drink more water— instead of taking you home, he took you back to his house to hold you close again.
a/n: I wrote this in a few hours, so I hope it makes sense. I don’t write but am always reading <<<<<3 amazing stories about Steve. I wanted to give it a shot. I’m full sending this bc I liked the idea and don’t think I’ve seen a lot of this prompt.

Milestone Masterlist
Tumblr media
I want to thank everyone who participated in my second Milestone Writing Challenge! I had so much fun reading all those stories and I'm more than happy to share them with everyone else.
Fics marked with * contain smut, so minors DNI!
Spencer Reid x Reader
The Mother Wound by @imagining-in-the-margins
Prompt: Nobody said healing would be easy but they had no idea it would be this hard
Summary: Spencer and Reader bond over having emotionally absent mothers
The image of them as children making it through the dark is very touching. It's a beautifully written, bittersweet story with the ability to bring hope to those who need it.
Crazy Ex by @c-m-stuff
Prompt: Person A needs to find B before it’s too late
Summary: You and Spencer are together. When you found strange pictures of the two of you, you knew, this wasn't good
This story depicts the emotions of Spencer's girlfriend really well. I also love the team dynamics, everyone is trying to do their best despite being terrified of losing Spencer.
Rumoured Nights * by @fortheloveofwonderland
Prompt: Someone has to unexpectedly share a hotel room with their favorite coworker - who apparently really likes to cuddle
Summary: A case in a small town in Alaska forces you and your favourite coworker into sharing a room and a bed. And according to Morgan, Spencer likes to cuddle.
This fic has everything I want for a prompt like this - mutual pining, a bit of awkwardness, everyone knowing except for them and then finally them acting on their desires. I also love the team dynamics you added to the story!
Tumblr media
Emily Prentiss x Reader
Dar+ling by @leahseclipse
What a cute story! I really like how comfortable they are with each other. Even though Emily usually is more hesitant to show her feelings, she clearly feels safe around Reader here
Prompt: Person A finally confesses their feelings for B, who has wanted to do just the same for weeks
Summary: Emily finally gets the courage to confess their feelings to the reader, who has just wanted to do it too for a while
Emily Prentiss x Jennifer Jareau
The Way You Felt by @andiebeaword
What a wonderful story! I really like the way you describe their relationship without trying to sugarcoat it. I have a similar view on Jemily - they just weren't meant to have a happy end.
Prompt: Even though their love seemed to never be enough, Person A and B can't let go of each other
Summary: While on a flight to help Spencer, exes J.J. and Emily ultimately come to terms with their buried feelings
Emily Prentiss x Aaron Hotchner
Dance With Me by @pandorasdreamings
I really appreciate it when Emily's complex backstory is mentioned in fics. She is such an interesting person to explore further, especially in the context of her relationships with other characters.
Prompt: Person A thinks they are not worth being taken care of. Person B proves the opposite
Summary: Emily is trying to move on and be happy, but her past keeps creeping up on her. Maybe the solution to her sadness has been in front of her the whole time
Tumblr media
Aaron Hotchner x Reader
4 AM by @hotchs-bitch
I absolutely love the softness and delicacy of this story. We rarely see Aaron's vulnerable side and you did a perfect job showing us just that in such a sweet way.
Prompt: Person A didn't know where else to go in a time of need, so they ring B's doorbell
Summary: When Aaron's marriage crumbles and he finds himself alone, there's only one person he wants to turn to
Aaron Hotchner x Haley Hotchner
Question of Timing * by @codename-mom
I always thought Hotch and Haley's relationship is very interesting but I never really considered what it would be like from her perspective. It's nice to get some variety!
Prompt: The couple decides to expand their family
Summary: Aaron finally agreed to make Haley a mother and she realised that the d-day is now. The issue is: how to convinced a husband afraid AF to be a father to do the last step?
Aaron Hotchner x Derek Morgan
Drown in my Dreams by @masterwords
I was genuinely moved by your story and your writing style. The way you show how vulnerable both men are in a difficult situation like that is very touching.
Prompt: Person A has never shown any weakness until they can’t hold back their tears anymore. Person B is there to wipe them away
Summary: After dealing with Mr. Scratch, Derek just wants to put Hotch on his bike and get the hell out of town. So he does
Aaron Hotchner & Penelope Garcia
Nocturnal Wandering by @codename-mom
I like the way you described the dynamics between Hotch and Garcia. I always thought that their friendship was really special (and very underrated).
Prompt: Person A has never shown any weakness until they can’t hold back their tears anymore. Person B is there to wipe them away
Summary: Garcia was about to leave the sixth floor of Quantico, late at night, when she discovered that someone else was still there. Someone who was not into a good mood and clearly need some help.

“Will Daddy be home soon?”
Emily turns and looks at her stepson, her heart aching at the forlorn expression on his face. Ever since the sudden loss of JJ on the team, Aaron had been working even harder than usual. He was two people down and desperately trying to find a replacement for Emily and JJ, something he claimed was close to impossible. It meant his workload had increased, something he bore on his shoulders alone, feeling responsible for the gaps in the team, for not being able to stop JJ’s move. Emily knew she needed to speak to him about it, that she needed to convince him to take the steps he needed to make sure he wasn’t at work on a Sunday afternoon like he currently was, missing out on time with his son - something else she knew that weighed heavily on him.
It was something that was slowly creeping up on her too, the end of her maternity leave looming over her. She knew she wanted to go back to work, but she also knew that she didn’t have to. That she had enough money that neither she nor Aaron would have to work again, but it wasn’t who they were. They loved their careers and their children, and she knew they’d spend the rest of their lives trying to get the balance right.
“Not before Mommy comes to pick you up, sweetie,” she says, sighing when his frown deepens, his lower lip sticking out in a pout. She shifts closer to him, throwing a glance at Lily in her bouncer chair, the baby awake but content, and she wraps an arm around his shoulders. He immediately tucks himself into her side, seeking out the comfort that it seemed all the Hotchners needed from time to time, “He’ll be here all of next weekend, honey,” she says, kissing the top of his head, “I’ll make sure of it.”
It’s a promise she’d make sure she’d keep, even if it meant marching into Strauss’s office and yelling at the woman herself, something that, if she was honest with herself, she’d been waiting for an opportunity for.
Jack nods against her and sighs, “I wish I was here more.”
It was something he’d said before when she was still pregnant, but he’d never mentioned it again, so she’d dismissed it as a one time thought, a momentary show of sibling jealousy upon the realisation that Lily would live with her and Aaron full time. Emily pulls back and looks at him, running her fingers through his hair and idly thinking that he was overdue a haircut.
“You wish you were here more?” She asks gently, trying to get more information out of him. He nods in response.
“I miss you guys when I’m with Mommy, but I miss her when I’m with you,” he says, creasing his eyebrows together, looking so much like Aaron it makes Emily ache, “But I’m with Mommy more, so I miss you more. Does that make sense?”
It makes guilt that Emily knows is misplaced swoop through her gut. In moments like this, she had to remind herself it wasn’t her fault Aaron and Haley weren’t together anymore, that she hadn’t broken a family. It had already been broken, shattered around their feet as they tried to figure out how to put it back together, how to make something new and beautiful out of what had once existed. She’d simply added her pieces to it, bits of glass that were fractured themselves that fit amongst the bits they already had.
“That makes sense,” she assures him. She smiles softly at him and gives him the only promise she can, “I’ll talk to Daddy about it, okay? And then he’ll talk to Mommy.”
Even though she loved Jack just as fiercely as she did Lily, her place in conversations like this was somewhat limited. It was something Aaron and Haley would have to figure out, even though she knew her new job, and the more normal hours and additional time at home it gave her, would factor into Aaron’s reasoning for them having Jack more.
“Okay,” Jack responds, placated for now, and Lily cries out for attention, seemingly bored of her bouncer chair. Emily smiles and then turns back to Jack, pressing a kiss to his forehead before she stands up from the couch.
“I hear you, sweet girl,” Emily says, walking over and unbuckling her from the chair before she lifts her into her arms. She turns back to Jack and smiles to herself before she carries on, well aware that her plan would remove the final bit of melancholy from his face, “I think it’s tummy time.”
As predicted, his face lights up and he’s up off the couch in seconds, already on the floor in the spot they usually did tummy time for Lily, the cushion they’d bought especially for this in hand.
“Tummy time is funny,” he says, sounding delighted as Emily kneels down and then puts Lily in position. Jack lays in front of Lily like he’d seen Emily and Aaron do countless times, his face close to hers as he makes funny faces at his little sister, his joy only increasing when she laughs at him, her tiny giggle still enough to make Emily’s heart squeeze in her chest, “It’s silly.”
Emily chuckles, “Do you remember why we have to do it?”
“To help her with her neck,” he says, “So she can sit up by herself and play with me.”
She clears her throat to stop herself from laughing at his simplified explanation, something about the innocence of it, his desperation to play with Lily, enough to warm her from the inside out.
“Exactly, sweet boy,” she says, looking at Lily and cupping the back of her tiny head, smiling at the soft feel of her dark hair, “You’re such a good big brother.”
He beams at her and she can’t help but return it, love for him and Lily threatening to overwhelm her. They sit there and keep Lily entertained, taking turns to shake her favourite toys in front of her, or smiling at her to encourage her to smile back. It’s such a normal moment, something that she knows happens countless times with countless families across the world, but it's a reminder that this is her life now. That she gets to experience everything that, not too long ago, she’d convinced herself she’d never have.
The doorbell rings and it pulls her out of the moment, and she checks her watch, “That will be your mom, Jack,” she says as she stands up, “If I go get the door, can you please keep an eye on Lily for me?”
“I’ll keep both eyes on her.”
She smiles at his seriousness, something she hopes Lily, and any other future children they have, inherit from Aaron too. There was something endlessly funny about someone so young, so small laying there with the same stern expression she had often seen on her husband’s face back before she knew what it was like to make him smile.
“Thanks, sweetie,” she says, making her way to the door. She checks through the peephole and opens the door,  smiling at Haley as she steps into the house, “Hi Haley.”
“Hi,” she replies, returning her smile as she pulls at the collar of her shirt, unintentionally drawing Emily’s attention to a small mark on her neck, “How has he been?”
“Good,” Emily says, smiling wryly, as they walk towards the living room, “Lily kept us up for most of the night, but I think he slept through it.”
Haley hums sympathetically, “She’s still not sleeping through the night?”
Emily groans and shakes her head, “At this point, I’m not sure she ever will,” she quips, turning her attention back to Jack as they enter the room, the boy still lying in the exact position she’d left him in, all of his attention on his sister, “Thank you, Jack.” She reaches down and picks Lily up, kissing the top of her head as she holds her close.
“Look at you Miss Lily,” Haley says, smoothing her hand over the baby’s soft hair for a moment before she steps back, “You get more beautiful every time I see you.:
Emily smiles, pride filling her chest, but any response is cut off as Jack jumps up and runs over to Haley, wrapping his arms around her waist, “I helped with tummy time!”
“Wow,” Haley replies enthusiastically, ruffling his hair, “I bet Lily loved that. Why don’t you go up and get your bag and we’ll head home?”
He nods and runs off, calling out Sergio’s name so he can say goodbye to the cat before he leaves. Haley turns and looks at Emily and she smiles, a tinge of awkwardness to the air they could never quite shift when it was the two of them.
“I like your haircut,” Haley says, and Emily grimaces, groaning as she scrunches her face up.
“Thanks, it was out of necessity more than anything,” she replies, shifting from side to side as Lily fusses in her arms, “I’m still getting used to it.”
“Well,” Haley replies, a wry smile spreading over her face, “As someone who has spent a lot of time wishing you were slightly less beautiful,” she says, drawing a laugh out of Emily, “I think you still look incredible. Even with your post-partum hair. It’s kind of unfair really.”
Emily chuckles, “Well, thanks. I guess,” she says, her gaze falling to the mark on Haley’s neck again, and she clears her throat, “Please feel free to tell me where to go since I’m your ex’s wife, but is that a hickey on your neck?”
Haley’s eyes go wide and she covers it with her hand, the way her cheeks go bright red with embarrassment enough of an answer for Emily, “Damn it, it’s that noticeable?”
“It’s really not that bad,” Emily assures her, “I’ve had worse,” she says, and they fall into a brief silence, “So, who is the lucky guy?”
Haley sighs and her hand drops down, “His name is Stephen, he’s…nice. He’s lovely actually,” she says, her cheeks still burning, somehow unsure how she still felt like a teenage girl when she talked about a guy she likes, “I’ve been thinking about introducing him to Jack.”
Emily tries to control her reaction, but she doesn’t, and she once again clears her throat as she tries to school her features, “Oh-”
“I wouldn’t do that before talking to Aaron,” she assures her, “I promise. I know I made him wait before you met Jack as Aaron’s girlfriend so I owe him the same. Can you…not tell him?” She asks, looking down at her hands as she twists them together, “I’d rather talk to him about it myself.”
Even though she hates the idea of keeping something secret from her husband, she nods. It wasn’t her news to share, or her story to tell, she just hoped Haley didn’t keep it to herself for too long.
“Of course.”
Jack bounds back down the stairs, his backpack over his shoulder, and his favourite teddy in his arms, and he runs over, “Mom, can we go home via McDonalds?”
Emily and Haley exchange a smile before she looks down at him, “Sure buddy, whatever you want.”
____
Aaron groans as he wakes up, torn from sleep by his daughter’s cries. He feels like he’s barely been asleep for long, something that he confirms as he looks at the alarm clock and his nightstand and sees that he’s been home only for an hour or so.
“I’ve got her,” Emily rasps out, throwing the covers off of herself as she reaches over to the bassinet.
“No,” he replies, sitting up against the headboard and turning on his bedside lamp, “I’ll take her,” he says, reaching out for the still-crying baby, “I feel like I’ve barely seen her recently.”
Emily yawns and passes Lily over, smiling as Aaron settles her against his chest and pats her back, “I only fed her just before I went to bed, so I think she just wants attention.” She says as she rests her head on Aaron’s shoulder, reaching out and stroking Lily’s cheek, wiping away tears from her skin as she starts to calm down in her father’s embrace.
“Like mother, like daughter,” he quips, and she lightly slaps his chest, her wide smile all the proof he needs that she’s not actually annoyed at him, “I’m sorry you were already asleep when I got home.”
She shakes her head at him and reaches up to push his hair from his face, “It’s okay, I know you’re busy. You’re here now, She says, and he hums, looking down at Lily and smiling when he sees her eyes flickering shut already, as content in his embrace as Emily always was, “How’s it going finding mine and JJ’s replacements?”
He groans as he turns to look at her, “I think I may have found yours, JJ’s is proving harder, but there is someone from the academy who has been recommended, but she’s still a cadet.”
She raises an eyebrow at him, “Not sure what it says that it’s been easier to find your wife’s replacement.”
He shakes his head at her and smiles, the reaction they both know she’d been looking for, “There’s only one you, Em,” he says, leaning in to press a kiss against her lips, “You know that,” he looks down and sees Lily is asleep, “Lily would agree with me but she’s sleeping again already.”
Emily smiles and reaches to gently lift the baby from him, careful as she turns and places her back in her bassinet, “She’s very skilled at waking us up and then immediately falling back asleep isn’t she?”
She kisses Lily’s head and then yawns as she lays back down, dragging Aaron’s arm over her middle after he turns the lamp back off, content to have him pressed up against her, his back against her chest as they settle.
“So, who is this replacement for me?” She asks, linking their fingers together. It somehow felt more final than leaving the BAU for her maternity leave had felt, even though she knew then she wouldn’t be going back. But her job had still been there, hanging over her head like a test of some kind, one that she was determined not to fail.
“She’s called Dr Alex Blake,” he replies, pulling her closer, “She’s a linguistics expert,” he says, smiling into the top of her head as he feels her tense against him, “But as good as you sweetheart, don’t worry,” he kisses her temple, “And she’s a professor at Georgetown.”
Emily hums, the finality of it all sinking in. She looks over at her sleeping daughter, and any doubt, and regret, fades away. She’d left for her. She was breaking the cycle and putting her daughter first, no matter how much it might sting to feel as if she was being replaced.
“She sounds good,” she says, kissing his knuckles, yawning again, “What’s the issue?”
He sighs, the rumble of it passing from his chest to hers. The burden of whatever he was worried about was a shared one like everything else, “She lost her son a couple of years ago, it’s in her file. Our work is not easy, I wouldn’t want anything to drag that up for her if it’s too soon.”
She turns her head and looks at him in the low light of the room, her eyes narrowed slightly, “Says the man who went back to work a month after being stabbed in his own apartment by a sociopath.”
“Hey…” he says, squeezing her tighter, “Technically it wasn’t my apartment anymore, I was about to move in with you.”
She rolls her eyes and leans up to kiss him before she settles back down, “Semantics,” she mumbles, “So much has changed since then,” she says idly, reminding herself to talk to him in the morning about Jack and his comments about being with them more.
“For the better,” he whispers, squeezing her hand and she nods.
“For the better,” she replies, yawning again, “If this Dr. Blake thinks she's ready, you should give her a chance.”
He hums, “I know,” he says, kissing the top of her head again, “Just like I know we should try and get some more sleep before your mini-me wakes us up again.”
They both close their eyes, sinking into the comfort of each other, of their life together. Aaron thinks she’s fallen asleep, her breathing all but evened out, when she speaks again.
“Aaron?”
He yawns as he replies, “Yes sweetheart?”
“Is she prettier than me?”

She Thought She was Normal
Story Summary: Maria really thought she was normal, for most of her life. It was normal for people to have natural talent, she would tell herself the older she got. Many things came easy for her, and that was probably how their rivalry began when she was five and he was seven and she met the Winchesters. Little did either of them know that it wouldn't stay like that forever, both having a far larger destiny than they could imagine

----------------------------------------- Chapter 15
Over the next couple of days, things seemed to fall into some sort of routine for the five of them. Dean and Maria didn’t avoid each other, but they’d gotten verbally snarky with each other.
There was more than one occasion where someone would have to remind them to be civil to each other, which they did. When Dean’s phone rang on that third day near noon, he begrudgingly answered it.
“Hello?” he groaned, annoyed at the last comment Maria had made.
“So, where I am supposed to meet someone? I’m in Lebanon,” the man on the other end said.
“Dad?” Dean asked, sitting up in his chair.
“Yeah son,” John told him, and Dean could tell that the man was smiling.
“Meet me at the diner in town,” Dean told him, smiling a little himself.
The other four looked at him, but he didn’t say anything, just grabbed his jacket and keys before he left, leaving them wondering what had been said. They had a vague idea as to the gist of the call, John had made it, finally. They’d still been looking for a way to kill Azazel, wanting to do more than just send the demon back to hell. If they just sent him back to hell, he could just come back to earth to possess a different person, starting his antics all over again.
An hour later, Dean and John pulled into the garage. John was impressed and Dean was smiling, happily as the two made their way into the war room, then the library, “So, I hear you have some intel on yellow-eyes. Dean wouldn’t tell me anything till we were here,” John said as he stood at the end of the tables in the library.
“Nice to see you too Uncle John,” Maria chuckled.
John chuckled a little in return, a bit uneasy seeing Sam, and the girl next to him, remembering how the two had parted ways a few years back, “I’m just glad you’re okay. You went off radar for a while.”
She smirked, “I wasn’t the only one,” she replied a bit sassy.
“I had my reasons,” John replied.
“Yeah, so did I,” she retorted back.
Damn the girl had gotten mouthy, but he couldn’t help but smirk and chuckle a little, “Alright. So, what’s the news?” he asked.
“His name is Azazel, and he’s a night of hell, or a prince of hell, depending on the lore,” Sam explained.
“Oh, and we’re all getting tattoos,” Jess added.
John ignored the part about the tattoos, “Any luck on finding a way to kill him?” John asked, more serious than before.
“Not that we found yet,” Bobby told him.
“I might be able to help on that front then,” John said, smiling a little.
That got all their attention, “We’re all ears,” Bobby said, and they were all hopeful at this point.
“There’s a legend, or at least that was what I thought it was. A Colt. Back in eighteen thirty-five, when Haley’s comet was overhead, same night those men died at the Alamo, they say Samuel Colt made a gun. A special gun. He made it for a hunter. A man like us, only on horseback. The story goes, he made thirteen bullets. This hunter, used the gun a half dozen times before he disappeared, the gun along with him. They say this gun, can kill anything,” John explained.
“Kill anything like supernatural anything?” Dean asked.
“Yeah. I think I might have tracked it down, to a hunter who might have it,” John replied.
All of them were hopeful at this point, “Tattoos first, then we’ll work on getting it,” Maria said, feeling hopeful for the first time since she’d learned the demon’s name.
“I’m not getting a tattoo,” John chuckled.
“If I have to get one, so do you John,” Bobby grumbled.
Maria grabbed the book with the anti-possession sigil in it, showed it to John, and explained the importance of it. John was not happy but also knew that it was a good way to protect all of them. When Maria saw the comprehension cross John’s face, she smiled, triumphantly.
“Alright kid, you win. When we doin' this?” John asked, still not keen on getting a tattoo.
“I’ll set it up for tomorrow, give you some time to settle in,” Maria replied, proudly as she moved into the war room to make the phone call.
Dean gave John the tour while Maria made the call, setting it up for when they opened, at nine the following day. Jess had already talked her into getting the tattoo in the same place that she was. Dean and Sam had opted for their chest, near their heart. Bobby on the other hand had decided on his back, over his shoulder, which John would also choose. Maria pulled out chicken for dinner, letting it defrost in the sink until it was time to cook, in a few hours. She felt more than hopeful now. They knew the demon’s name, and now, there might be a way to kill it. They’d also found a summoning spell in one of the books, plus, they had a dungeon to hold the demon in.
Maria was humming to herself as she moved around the kitchen, gathering what she would need for dinner when Dean stopped in his tracks in the doorway, Before she could look over at him though, John moved past him into the kitchen, looking around. That pulled Dean to his senses, putting on that cool guy facade again. John was thoroughly impressed with the bunker.
“To think, Will kept this a secret,” John said quietly, still in awe.
“He was a Men of Letters, or was until before I was born,” Maria said without turning from her task of putting spices on the counter for the chicken.
“Looks like I’ve got a lot to catch up on,” John chuckled.
“Well, I’m gonna get dinner started and can fill you in, if you want,” Maria suggested, “Unless of course, Dean already filled you in,” she said that last part with a smirk as she glanced over at him, letting him know she knew he was there.
He rolled his eyes before he went back into the library, annoyed. John sat down at the kitchen table, “So, what’s up between you two? Still rivals?” he asked, bemused. John knew how Dean felt about her, but it wasn’t his place to bring it up.
“He’s a jerk and yes, we’re still rivals,” she replied plainly, which made John chuckle.
Maria explained what her father had told her in the letter she’d found on her pillow that first day, leaving out the weird stuff about her, that she still hadn’t gotten around to facing. John was fairly impressed and decided it might be nice to have a place to call home again. The thought of being able to be rid of the demon who had killed his wife more than two decades ago had been his only goal since then, even if he had wanted more for his boys than this kind of life.
“I heard about what happened between you and Sam. There’s still time to patch things up,” she suggested as she put the chicken in the oven and turned to look at him.
“That kind of thing works both ways,” he told her.
“So, be the bigger person and understand he’s an adult,” she replied bluntly.
John chuckled a little at her bluntness, “After we take out yellow-eyes. How’s that sound?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.
She crossed her arms over her chest, “If it were me, I’d do it before. You never know how long you have, being a hunter. It’s not like those that have gone up against Azazel have survived,” she told him, making a point he couldn’t find an argument to.
He took a deep breath and sighed, looking at the table in front of him, “That was a low blow, but I’ll let you have that one, and… I’ll think about it. That’s the best you’re gonna get,” he said quietly.
Maria shook her head and got busy peeling potatoes, annoyed at how stubborn John was, which Dean had clearly gotten from him, although, in a way, so had Sam. John went to the garage and grabbed his bag before looking for a room to at least sleep in for the night. He was still debating staying there, especially with the unspoken conflict between him and Sam. Maria waited till she was working on the gravy before she hollered for Sam, who looked confused when he entered the kitchen.
“What’s up SIs?” he asked her.
She didn’t look over at him, not right away, “You and your dad, you two can patch things up,” she told him.
“Sis…” he said, not wanting to have this conversation.
“I’m serious Sam,” she stated as she turned around, “It might take being the bigger person for once, letting shit go. I know you don’t hate him and you’d be devastated if he died, so don’t lie to me,” she stated, narrowing her eyes a bit, then sighed, “We’re going up against Azazel. He killed both my parents, your mom, and who knows who else he is gonna try to kill to get to us. All I’m saying is that… you have an opportunity, to have a better relationship with your dad, just in case.”
He said nothing, just absorbed her words. She had a point and part of him hated that. Sam grabbed a beer out of the fridge before he went back into the library, lost in his thoughts. Her words had hit him fairly hard. Neither Jess nor Bobby pushed him. They could tell he needed time to think, even if they had no idea what was going through his head.
Dinner came and went and the six of them sat in the library, drinking and sharing stories again. Jess and Maria were looking forward to getting their tattoos in the morning. The guys though, not so much. The girls showered after dinner, shaving their nether regions so that the tattoo could only be barely visible above their jean line, leaving plenty to the imagination of how far down it would go. Maria was having second thoughts about where she had agreed to get the tattoo but knew there was no backing out of it now.
In the morning, the girls dressed in loose-fitting sweats and went commando for the tattoo, none of the guys knew. Well, Sam knew about Jess’s, but not Maria’s. She was keeping that to herself. Maria found Jess in the kitchen, up just as early as she was, the coffee pot had just finished.
“This is gonna be so much fun,” Jess told her excitedly.
“I’m not sure I can go through with this,” she replied nervously as she poured herself a cup of coffee.
“Oh come on, don’t wimp out on me now.” Jess pouted.
Maria groaned a little as she sat down across from her, “It’s just… that’s a really sensitive area, that’s all.”
“Yeah, but if you ever end up with a guy, he’ll find it hot as hell. Trust me,” she winked with an insinuating tone.
She rolled her eyes, “I don’t have time for a guy.” Jess chuckled, “Maybe after this whole demon business is done, you might,” she said optimistically.
Again she groaned at the thought. She had spent her entire life being a hunter and wasn’t sure if she’d be able to stop doing it after Azazel was taken care of. She really didn’t know anything else. The guys joined the two of them almost an hour later, looking a little nervous, which made the girls chuckle.
-----------------------------------------
Dean almost burst through the door when he heard Maria let out a pained, quiet scream that sounded also like a groan. He’d already gotten his tattoo and it was tender, but he wasn’t letting on. The girls had been behind that closed door for almost a half hour now and the brothers were trying not to worry. Sam was smiling though, knowing where Jess was getting her tattoo and he couldn’t wait to go exploring to see it all.
Tumblr media
“Remind me to never let that girl talk me into something like this again,” John groaned, joining his sons in the lobby area of the tattoo parlor.
“What’s the matter Dad, don’t plan on getting any more tattoos?” Dean teased him with a smirk.
He ignored that as he joined their gaze on the closed door, “Those two still in there?” he asked.
“Yeah. Sounds like wherever they’re getting theirs, it’s tender,” Dean answered, trying not to sound concerned.
“They’ll be fine,” John chuckled.
Just as Bobby joined them, the door opened. Jess was laughing while Maria was glaring at her a bit, “I’m never letting you talk me into something like that again,” Maria told Jess, feeling the skin where her tattoo was burning a bit, which was normal.
“Just put that burn cream on it like the lady said and you’ll be fine, baby,” Jess teased her before she went over and had an intimate moment with Sam, not even caring that the others were there, “Can’t wait to show you later,” she whispered in his ear.
“Looking forward to it,” Sam smirked.
Dean just rolled his eyes but the adults chuckled. John realized how much his youngest son loved that woman and that was enough for him to decide to be the bigger person and put the past aside.
“I’m so glad I didn’t drive here,” Maria groaned.
“Rethinking the whole tattoo thing?” Dean teased her as he smirked.
“Shut up,” she growled before she went outside.
The others just chuckled to themselves as Dean found her response amusing. There were only a couple options for driving back, Dean’s Impala or Bobby’s little beat-up car, neither of which were appealing to Maria at the moment. They joined her outside moments later, all of them but Dean went to Bobby’s beat-up car, leaving her to sit with Dean. She glared at Sam who just shrugged with a smirk before he got in Bobby’s car.
“Looks like you’re riding with me sweetheart,” Dean smirked.
Maria looked more than annoyed but got into the passenger seat and crossed her arms, doing her best not to slam the door of the Impala. The car hadn’t done anything wrong and she didn’t want to take her annoyance out on it.
“Don’t call me that,” she said somewhat coldly when he got in the driver’s seat.
Dean made a mental note of her reaction. He figured if he couldn’t talk to her normally, he’d at least find ways of annoying her. It wasn’t the attention he wanted but it was amusing nonetheless, “Alright Sweetheart,” he told her, that damned smirk plastered on his lips again.
Maria didn’t even look at him as she attempted to sit so that the sweats she was wearing didn’t rub against her tattoo. However, the moment he started driving, she felt every bump in the road and made plans not to leave her room when they got back until her tattoo healed. She couldn’t even understand how Jess wasn’t bothered or in pain, let alone had made plans to be intimate with Sam that same night. Give her demons, werewolves, vampires, even ghouls any day of the week, but a tattoo in a very sensitive area and she turned into a baby. She put on a hard outer shell though, not wanting to let Dean see that she was weak.
“I’ll show you mine if you show me yours,” Dean told her with a smirk as he drove down the one-lane paved road.
She looked out the passenger window, arms still crossed over her chest, “No,” she replied, flatly, but annoyed.
That made Dean raise an eyebrow, more curious than ever about where she’d gotten hers, “What’s the matter, not up for a little show and tell?”
“Drop it, Dean,” she told him in a low growl, which only made him chuckle.
The moment he parked, she was out of the car before he could even turn off the engine, grabbing two beers before she locked herself in her room. Maria carefully slipped out of her sweats and grabbed one of her oversized shirts out of her dresser, changing into it. However, the bottom portion of it brushed against the tattoo, causing her to push her ass backward before grabbing the shirt to hold it off of her.
“Never again,” she grumbled as she sat down on her bed, carefully.
Maria put some of the burn cream on it that the tattoo artist had given her, which gave some much-needed relief. The tattoo artist also explained that Maria was more sensitive than most, so it would probably cause her more discomfort than her friend. She popped the beer and took a decent drink out of it when she heard a knock on her door.
“You okay in there?” Jess asked her, trying not to chuckle as Sam was behind her, kissing along her neck.
“I’ll be fine, but I’m never doing that again,” Maria grumbled.
“You gonna come out of there?” Sam asked her.
“No,” Maria replied flatly.
“Dean’s cooking tonight. He’s making burgers. So, at least come out long enough to eat,” Sam chuckled as Jess teased her fingers along his back.
“Would you two just go get a room already and let me be,” Maria groaned, leaning back on the headboard.
“Stop being a baby about this. The tattoo was your idea,” Sam told her, doing his best not to chuckle at her behavior.
“It may have been my idea but your girlfriend out there is nuts and I’ll never let her talk me into anything again,” she grumbled.
All that did was make the two laugh as they walked to their room, leaving Maria to lick her wounds. She could take a beating from a monster but that tattoo had hurt more than any wound she’d ever experienced before. At least the burn cream was helping a little.
Dean couldn’t resist retrieving her himself. He really wanted to know where she’d gotten her tattoo. Once he was done cooking, he knocked on her door, “Dinner’s ready Sweetheart,” he told her with a smirk as he leaned against the wall next to her door.
“Go away Dean,” she groaned.
“Come on, it’s just a little tattoo,” he pushed.
She could hear the cockiness in his tone and it was annoying her, “Just leave me a plate outside my door,” she grumbled.
“If Jess can come out to eat, so can you,” he teased her, which pissed her off.
The moment she stood up, her shirt brushed against her tattoo, and she inhaled deeply as a pained groaned escaped her lips, “You’re an ass, you know that,” she snapped at him as she carefully slid her sweats back on.
“And you’re being a baby,” he quipped.
“Fuck you,” she muttered under her breath before she unlocked and opened her door. Seeing him there with that smug look and a smirk to match made her want to hit him.
“Awe, what’s the matter Sweetheart?” he asked, more to annoy her than anything.
She pushed him so that his back was against the wall as she forced herself to walk normally, not wanting to give him more ammunition to annoy her. He just laughed a little before he followed her, wondering why she had to look that good in sweats. The others were already sitting at the kitchen table. Maria barely kept the grimace off her face as she sat down, adjusting quickly so her sweats and thighs weren’t touching her tattoo, at all. Most of them caught it and chuckled silently, mostly because getting the tattoo was her idea.
“You alright there kid?” Bobby asked her, raising an eyebrow, sounding amused.
“I’m fine,” she answered, shortness in her tone, which made Dean smirk again.
“Leave her alone Dean,” John told him, noticing the smirk.
“What?” Dean asked innocently as he sat down on the other side of the table.
She glared at him, almost daring him to say something or look at her the wrong way. Due to the burn, she was ready to go off on him. John just gave Dean a look before they all served themselves. Jess found her discomfort hilarious, knowing it would only last a few days while it healed. Whether Maria wanted to admit it or not, Dean was a really good cook. She kept the annoyed look throughout dinner, not giving him the satisfaction of a compliment on the meal. There was some conversation but she stayed out of it, tuning it out due to the burning that had returned to her tattoo. It was quite the turn of events since when they were younger, he had been the one refusing the compliments on her cooking.
“You gonna help clean up?” Sam asked Maria, his face contorting a bit as he did his best to attempt to keep from smiling, let alone laughing. Jess had told him where Maria had gotten her tattoo.
Maria glared at him so badly that if looks could kill, he would have been dead ten times over. That was when Dean lost it laughing. Luckily Maria was done eating. With every ounce of stubbornness she had left, she got up and stomped off to her room, not even flinching at how badly her tattoo burned. It wasn’t until her door was locked behind her that she almost crumbled, carefully removing her sweats before sitting back on her bed as she had before, applying more of the burn cream. A sigh of relief left her lips as she leaned her head back on the headboard.
The way they had messed with her was just how their family was. It was all in fun. She was more annoyed at herself for being so sensitive down there than anything, something she wouldn’t have known without the tattoo experience. She also vowed to never again let Jess talk her into anything else like this, ever again. Maria glanced at the book on her night table. She hadn’t moved it since the night she had set it there and debated reading it. She had no plans of leaving her room anyway, not until her tattoo healed more first.
“Not tonight,” she sighed quietly before climbing under covers.
That was when she realized that sleeping was going to be an even bigger issue for her. How was she supposed to even get comfortable and not let anything touch that spot? Then she remembered the little bit of gauze the tattoo artist had given her for the first night. She carefully climbed out of bed and pulled it out of her sweatpants pocket. Maria applied a little more of the ointment before applying the gauze bandage, sighing at the feeling of relief. Maria had been too distracted by the pain to remember everything that the tattoo artist had told her and hadn’t been in the mood to ask Jess. She wasn’t in the mood now either, but planned on asking her in the morning, or whenever she rolled out of bed.

A lot of Trump supporters still try to hide their racism by claiming they vote for Trump because he's allegedly a great businessman. 🤨
Tumblr media
A lengthy list of Trump’s disastrous business deals — compiled by his newest business partners
Trump was not great at business. He's a nepo baby who got tons of money from Daddy Fred and stupidly squandered much of it. At best, he was a con man who managed to swindle some people out of their money. Remember Trump University?
Trump wasn't great at business but his cleverly edited TV series "The Apprentice" made him seem like he was.
How Mark Burnett Resurrected Donald Trump as an Icon of American Success With "The Apprentice," the TV producer mythologized Trump—then a floundering D-lister—as the ultimate titan, paving his way to the Presidency.
Jonathon Braun, an editor who started working with Burnett on “Survivor” and then worked on the first six seasons of “The Apprentice,” told me, “You don’t make anything up. But you accentuate things that you see as themes.” He readily conceded how distorting this process can be. Much of reality TV consists of reaction shots: one participant says something outrageous, and the camera cuts away to another participant rolling her eyes. Often, Braun said, editors lift an eye roll from an entirely different part of the conversation. [ ... ] At the end of each episode, Trump determined which competitor should be “fired.” But, as Braun explained, Trump was frequently unprepared for these sessions, with little grasp of who had performed well. Sometimes a candidate distinguished herself during the contest only to get fired, on a whim, by Trump. When this happened, Braun said, the editors were often obliged to “reverse engineer” the episode, scouring hundreds of hours of footage to emphasize the few moments when the exemplary candidate might have slipped up, in an attempt to assemble an artificial version of history in which Trump’s shoot-from-the-hip decision made sense. During the making of “The Apprentice,” Burnett conceded that the stories were constructed in this way, saying, “We know each week who has been fired, and, therefore, you’re editing in reverse.” Braun noted that President Trump’s staff seems to have been similarly forced to learn the art of retroactive narrative construction, adding, “I find it strangely validating to hear that they’re doing the same thing in the White House.”
Trump is trying now to "reverse engineer" his presidency. And he's helped by smarmy Republicans like Nikki Haley who once condemned the January 6th assault on the US Capitol but are now making excuses for it.
Trump is a raging phony whose reputation was rescued and curated by TV producer Mark Burnett in the 2000s.
As for the Trump-China Scandal, it's big news even in Hong Kong.
Donald Trump reaped US$5.5 million from China and its state entities during presidency: US House report
Of course none of this will convince a hardcore MAGA zombie to abandon Trump. But it's worth familiarizing ourselves with these things for the times we do run into the small number of voters who are persuadable; and elections lately have been decided by small numbers of people.

LETTERS FROM AN AMERICAN
January 24, 2024
HEATHER COX RICHARDSON
JAN 25, 2024
The dust is beginning to settle after last night’s New Hampshire primary. Former president Donald Trump won the Republican primary with 54.3% of the vote, netting him 12 delegates to the Republican National Convention. Former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley came in second with 43.3% of the vote, garnering her 9 delegates. Other candidates together took 2.3%, but none of them won any delegates.
There has been a lot of noise today about whether the New Hampshire results spell good news for Trump or bad news. While the result keeps him in the front spot for the Republican nomination, I fall into the category of observers who see bad news: more than 45% of Republican primary voters—those most fervent about the party—chose someone other than Trump.
As David French pointed out in the New York Times today, Trump is running as a virtual incumbent, and any incumbent facing a challenger who can command 43% of the party faithful is in trouble. President Gerald Ford discovered this equation in 1976 when he faced Ronald Reagan’s insurgency; President George H. W. Bush discovered it in 1992 when he faced a similar challenge from right-wing commentator Patrick Buchanan. While both Ford and Bush went on to win the Republican nomination, they lost the general election.
More important than opinions or history to indicate what the primary indicated, though, is Trump’s apparent anger about Haley’s showing. Politico’s Playbook noted that he “rage-posted” about Haley’s speech after her strong finish with posts that lasted far into the night. Ron Filipkowski noted that at 2:19 this morning he was still at it, posting: “NIKKI CAME IN LAST, NOT SECOND!”
In addition to attacking her from the podium, Trump appeared to threaten her when he warned her about “very dishonest people” she would have to fight. He said she was not going to win, “but if she did, she would “be under investigation…in fifteen minutes and I could tell you five reasons why already. Not big reasons, a little stuff that she doesn’t want to talk about, but she will be under investigation within minutes, and so would Ron have been, but he decided to get out.”
The tactics Trump might have been suggesting became clear this afternoon, when the chair of the Arizona Republican Party, Jeff DeWit, resigned after a recording that appeared to show him trying to bribe Arizona Senate candidate and fervent Trump supporter Kari Lake to stay out of the Senate race was leaked to the press. The tape itself was clearly contrived to show Lake as if she were in a campaign ad, defending Trump and America, but it includes DeWit’s pleas for her to stand aside for two years, presumably while the Arizona party regroups with less extremist candidates, and his request that she name her price.
This sordid story reflects a problem in the state Republican parties as MAGA supporters have tried to take over from the party establishment. In Arizona, challenging the 2020 presidential election—remember the “Cyber Ninjas” who audited the Maricopa County vote?—ran the finances of the Arizona party into the ground. Lake has continued to insist, without evidence, that the election was stolen, and she and other MAGA activists have called for purging the party of all but the Trump faithful. The recording positions Lake as a Trump loyalist fighting against party operatives.
In his resignation letter, DeWit claimed the recording had been “taken out of context” and said he had been “set up.” He noted that Lake has “a disturbing tendency to exploit private interactions for personal gain,” calling out “her habit of secretly recording personal and private conversations. This is obviously a concern given how much interaction she has with high profile people including President Trump,” he added. “I believe she orchestrated this entire situation to have control over the state party,” he wrote.
DeWit said he had “received an ultimatum from Lake’s team: resign today or face the release of a new, more damaging recording. I am truly unsure of its contents,” he wrote, “but considering our numerous past open conversations as friends, I have decided not to take the risk. I am resigning as Lake requested.”
It seems clear the Trump team is eager to consolidate power behind him no matter what it takes, especially in the face of what appears to be his weakness. Rising authoritarians depend on the idea they are invincible, so being perceived as vulnerable—or as a loser—hits them much harder than it does a normal political candidate.
Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel—who was recorded on November 17, 2020, pressuring two Republican officials in Michigan not to certify Joe Biden’s electors in a county he won by 68% and promising the officials to “get you attorneys”—has urged Haley to drop out of the race. Traditionally, party chairs stay neutral in primary contests. Tonight, Trump posted a threat to donors: “Nikki ‘Birdbrain’ Haley is very bad for the Republican Party and, indeed, our Country…. Anybody that makes a ‘Contribution’ to Birdbrain, from this moment forth, will be permanently barred from the MAGA camp. We don’t want them and will not accept them.”
For her part, Haley has vowed to stay in the contest. While observers point out that there is very little chance she could actually overtake Trump, it’s also true that either Trump’s obvious mental lapses or his legal troubles could knock him out of the race, in which case she would be the most viable candidate standing.
Curiously, what happened to Trump in New Hampshire was what, before the election, pundits suggested could and maybe should happen to President Joe Biden: a challenger would show that he was weak going into the 2024 election.
Instead, despite dirty-trickster robocalls in a fake Biden voice telling Democratic voters not to show up vote for Biden, he appears to be on track to win 65% of the vote as a write-in candidate—he wasn’t on the ballot—while Representative Dean Phillips and self-help author Marianne Williamson, who were on the ballot, together appear to have garnered just under 25%..
On Monday, Miranda Nazzaro of The Hill reported that the creator of ChatGPT banned a super PAC backing Phillips for misusing AI for political purposes. Billionaire Bill Ackman, who has been in the news lately for his fight against diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, attacks on former Harvard president Claudine Gay, and threats to media outlets that pointed out plagiarism in his wife’s doctoral dissertation, donated $1 million to Phillips’s super PAC.
There was other good news for the Biden camp today, too. Sign-ups for the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, have surged by 80% under Biden, with a record 21 million people enrolling this year. Trump has promised to get rid of the program, saying that “Obamacare Sucks!!!” and that he will replace it with something better, but neither now nor in his four years in office did he produce a plan.
Biden also received the enthusiastic endorsement today of the United Auto Workers union, whose president, Shawn Fain, had made it clear that any president must earn that endorsement. Biden stood with the union in its negotiations last year with the big three automakers, not only behind the scenes but also in public when he became the first president to join a picket line. “[Trump] went to a nonunion plant, invited by the boss, and trashed our union,” Fain said, “And, here is what Joe Biden did during our stand up strike. He heard the call. And he stood up and he showed up.” “Donald Trump stands against everything we stand for as a society,” Fain told the crowd.
More news dropped today about the damage MAGA Republicans are doing to the United States. A report published today in JAMA Internal Medicine estimates that in the 14 states that outlawed abortion after the Supreme Court’s June 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision, 64,565 women became pregnant after being raped, “but few (if any) obtained in-state abortions legally.”
Finally, Jake Sherman and John Bresnahan of Punchbowl News confirmed this evening that although MAGA Republicans have insisted the border is such a crisis that no aid to Ukraine can pass until it is addressed, Trump is preventing congressional action on the border because he wants to run on the issue of immigration. Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) told a closed meeting of Senate Republicans that “the nominee” wants to run his campaign on immigration, adding, “We don’t want to do anything to undermine him.” “We’re in a quandary,” McConnell said.
Jennifer Bendery and Igor Bobic of HuffPost reported that Trump today reached out to Republican senators to kill the bipartisan border deal being finalized, “because he doesn’t want Biden to have a victory,” one source said. “The rational Republicans want the deal because they want Ukraine and Israel and an actual border solution,” Bendery and Bobic quote the source as saying. “But the others are afraid of Trump, or they’re the chaos caucus who never wants to pass anything.”
“They’re having a little crisis in their conference right now,”

Too Sweet.
Based on the following ask from @reidstheyfriend : Hotch x innocent/sunshine! Reader
I got this idea listening to Too Sweet by Hozier. I just immediately think of Hotch when listening to the song. I feel like Hotch would think he’s too broken or traumatized for reader because she’s so sweet and her heart is full of love and joy and that’s something he loves about her. He’s worried he would corrupt her and that she deserves better. So, most of the fic I would say it’s Hotch longing for reader but putting distance between them. Until he can no longer take it anymore. He needs her. He loves her.
I especially see the line where Hozier is talking about working late away from the phone and it makes her worry. I see reader calling/texting Hotch at late hours because she’s worried about him and he is too caught up in work to see her calls/texts.

“Sunshine, you deserve so much more. I’m so sorry. I just, I want you to be with someone better, someone good.” Aaron said, his voice faltering.
“Aaron, wait. Let’s talk about this.”
Your heart broke at the sight of him. Aaron looked completely and utterly wrecked. You had a pretty good feeling that you knew his reasoning behind this conversation. Aaron had always called you his sunshine, he had said that you brought light into his life that had been long since dulled. You knew that Aaron had this fear of dulling your light, but you knew that wasn’t the case…you thought back to some of the things that had happened in the last few months that may have led Aaron here.
*Three Weeks Earlier*
Aaron had been working late, it had been a local case that was time sensitive. You knew this meant it was most likely a hostage situation or a child abduction, these cases didn’t offer a chance for the team to head home and sleep.
You had been keeping up with the case as much as the news and texts from Garcia would allow. You hadn’t heard from Aaron in a few hours, which wasn’t totally uncommon, however, Garcia had told you that the case had been solved and the team had been dismissed for the evening.
You figured he must be finishing up the reports and decided you send him a text before heading to bed for the night.
Hey baby, I know you’re working, I just wanted to text and let you know I am heading to bed. Jack wanted me to tell you he loved you when you got home, but I’m not sure when that’ll be. Honey, don’t work too hard…come home soon. I love you so much.
You hit send and set off to your room, after brushing your teeth, you slid into bed. After tossing and turning for a little bit, you hopped out of bed and moved to your dresser. You pulled out one of Aaron’s t-shirts and changed into it, adding a spray of his cologne. After taking a deep breath, your body immediately relaxed, and you climbed back into bed.
It was after three in the morning when Aaron came through the door. He made sure to be as quiet as possible as he moved through the apartment. He quickly checked in on Jack and then made his way to your room. His heart clenched as he saw you curled up in his shirt, clutching his pillow. He changed his clothes and brushed his teeth quickly before climbing into bed behind you, wrapping his arms around your middle. You shifted closer to him and he pressed a gentle kiss to your neck.
*Two Weeks Earlier*
Aaron had been home for about two hours and in that time, he’d greeted you, grabbed a whiskey and gone straight into his office. Things at the BAU had been extremely busy, this had been the first night Aaron had been home in three weeks. All you wanted was to have him by your side while you slept tonight.
“Aaron, honey, why don’t you come to bed? It’s nearly daylight.” You suggest.
“I, know sunshine, I’m sorry. I’m almost done!”
“Aaron…”
He looked up at you, finally noticing the exhaustion in your expression. He clicked his mouse a few more times, signed one last form, then got up. He made his way to you and wrapped his arm around you.
“Let’s get you to bed.” Aaron said as he placed a kiss to your temple.
Things had been like this more often than not, Aaron consistently working late, be it at home or the BAU. He’d be up until dawn, sipping his whiskey neat, going over paperwork. You’d fallen into this pattern where you’d be waking up in time to say goodnight to him. Knowing he’d have to get up pretty soon, you’d make his coffee, not that it took much, he drank it black. Aaron would get up, make his way to the kitchen, grab his coffee, and give you a kiss as thanks.
“Sunshine, you are as bright as the morning.” Aaron smiles.
“Honey...” You’d blush.
*Present Day*
“Sunshine, there’s nothing more to talk about. I’m not good for you. You have stayed up waiting for me, time and time again. You consistently have to go to bed without me, have dinner without me. I mean last month alone I missed three dates, two of Jack’s soccer games, and the Halloween party at your sister’s.” Aaron trailed on.
“Aaron, honey, it’s okay. It happens. The BAU is a busy job, you’re literally making the world a safer place.”
You could see the emotions flashing across Aaron’s face. The inner turmoil he was currently experiencing made you reach out to him, gently placing your hand on his cheek. He brought his hand up to cover your own, leaning into your touch.
“Sunshine I just want you to be happy. You should be with someone who has time to show you how wonderful you are, someone who doesn’t miss dates.”
“Aaron, don’t you get it? You have made me so incredibly happy in the time we have been together. I got into this relationship knowing full well that you would be extremely busy and that you might miss some things…but that doesn’t bother me. Honey you show me your love and appreciation every single day. You have my favorite flowers delivered once a week, that way I’ll always have fresh ones. You leave me sticky notes on the bathroom mirror with sweet notes, so I’ll have a good start to my day. You put my towel on the warmer so I can be extra cozy when I get out of the shower. You make me lunch each morning, so I don’t have to. This relationship is so much more than missed dates and waiting up honey. You are an honest, kind, loving man, Aaron you deserve to be loved.”
Tears were falling from both you and Aaron. You just wished that Aaron could see himself through your eyes. After things with Haley, he truly had never been the same, he feared that his love only brought destruction. It had taken months of dates and persuasion (from Dave) to get Aaron to ask you to be his. The longer Aaron had been with you, the more he thought that he didn’t deserve your love. You were the best person he knew; you could bring a smile to anyone’s face through your presence alone. He couldn’t let his darkness cloud your sunshine. And yet here you were, proving to him that he too had light, light that he had brought to you.
“I’m sorry sunshine. I just, I get in my head. You’re just so good.”
“Aaron it’s okay, as long as you don’t still plan on calling this quits.”
“I’m not going anywhere sunshine. I can’t promise I won’t doubt myself ever again, but I can promise that I am here for the long haul.” Aaron squeezed your hand gently.
“Well, that’s good because you are stuck with me.” You smiled.
“You’re too sweet for me.” Aaron said before leaning in and pressing a gentle kiss to your lips.

⚠  Do not repost my art or I will come after your kneecaps  ⚠
(Lil details about Emily's cardigan under the cut!)
I have this lil HC for Emily that she has a cardigan and she embroiders lil things that remind her of her friends/family, so here's the details for the ones I put in:
(From left to right)
Fairyrose and the snail: For Jas and Vincent because she has a soft spot for the kids and how could she say no when they asked so nicely to be on her cardigan? She loves having everyone included!
The gridball and skateboard by the snail: She added it after Sam and Alex were (jokingly) like "Wow you added the kids before me?? I've known you so much longer-", so now that snail is the coolest snail in town with a skateboard and gridball
Daffodil: For Sandy, of course! She loves going to visit Sandy and the two of them will embroider together sometimes. (The headband she has with the embroidered hearts is from Sandy)
Sunflowers: These were the first things she added to her cardigan, they're for Haley because, despite their constant bickering, she does still absolutely adore her sister
Blue Chicken: For Shane since he's one of her close friends, it was also mentioned once that he tells her stories about the chickens so I like to think she's at least aware of the blue chickens-
I'm pretty sure by the end of the project everyone in town would probably be a part of that cardigan, Emily likes when everyone's included-
I would've added more but I was running out of ideas fskfjdks

She's trying to archive Black Twitter. It's a delicate and imperfect task
Tumblr media
Meredith Clark hopes that preserving Black Twitter will allow for a more accurate retelling of the history of the internet. Dare Kumolu, Kumolu Studios hide caption
Black Twitter has been a force since the platform started, creating a space for everything from discussing daily life to helping launch and spotlight movements like #BlackLivesMatter and #OscarsSoWhite.
Now, one woman is seeking to archive it, as Twitter's future appears uncertain.
Who is she? Meredith Clark is an associate professor of communications and journalism at Northeastern University. She is launching the Archiving Black Twitter project as part of the Archiving the Black Web initiative.
Clark's research focuses on "the intersections of race, media, and power in digital, social, and news media," according to her university bio, and she has also spent years working as an editor, editorial writer and columnist.
She says the term Black Twitter has many definitions, and hers is: "A network of culturally linked communicators who are using the platform to talk about issues of concern to Black life and in Black life."
What's the big deal? Clark says preserving Black Twitter will allow for a more accurate and complex retelling of the history of the internet. But it's not a simple task.
Clark says it's impossible to collect — or even distill — the whole of Black Twitter. So instead there will be a collection of what are called "small histories."
They are "parts and pieces of what has happened in this place and time, but they are not the end-all-be-all of Black Twitter," Clark told NPR, adding that it's a delicate balance.
NPR's Dara Kerr and Bobby Allyn report that since Elon Musk acquired Twitter in October, the company's staff has been whittled down to about 10% of what it was before, following mass layoffs and others quitting. "Outages have become far more common [and] overall system bugginess has also become the norm for many users," they report.
Tumblr media

What is Clark saying? Speaking to NPR's Juana Summers, Clark outlined why the project was important — and feeling increasingly urgent.
On the power of preserving stories:
The power of that preservation is making sure that accurate narratives are told. There are so many instances where people might have forgotten about the truth of how something unfolded. One that sticks out in my mind is that, recently, there was coverage that made reference to Nikki Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, signing legislation to take down the Confederate flag over that state's Capitol following the massacre of the Emanuel Nine. And I took issue with that reporting because it erased the work of Bree Newsome and her comrades in actually scaling the flagpole at the state Capitol and taking that flag down. And without the witnessing that folks were able to do on Twitter, that narrative might be lost. And I think that that is just one reflection of many stories that require us to have plenty of evidence to make sure that they are told correctly.
On whether the changing dynamics of Twitter itself add more urgency to the work she's doing:
It does. It almost adds a sense of desperation. At this point, Twitter is now reaching out to researchers who have large-scale Twitter datasets and, in some cases, asking them to delete that data. And if that data is deleted, then it leaves those of us who study this grasping for information and grasping for records.
So, what now?
The project launched this year and Clark says she is working with collaborators and inviting others to the project.
You can read more and get involved on Clark's website.
"There's a version of Black Twitter that I can talk about, that I've written about, that I study. But everyone who is a part of Black Twitter has a perspective on it. And by that regard, they have something to offer," she said.

Dick Grayson x GN reader
Tumblr media
Tap...Tap...Tap... Was the noise that the tree branch next to the window made.
Your mind couldn't focus on anything but the little noises. Every creak, tap and whoosh. Your eyes wide open staring everywhere. Of course you knew Dick would fight anyone who dared cross you but a little spot in your brain held doubt. "What if there's someone here? What if I can't do anything if there's an intruder? What if Dick can't do anything of there is an intruder?
You could hear your heart pounding in your ears and you could feel tears start to form at the edges of your now tightly shut eyes. "N/n?" You could feel hands on your face. You screamed and Dicks face immediately formed into one worry. "Hey! Hey, everything's okay. I'm here, you're here, Haley's here." You could feel Haley jump on the bed. "Everything's fine..." You could still feel your uneven breath.
You hated feeling this way. You know Dick's usually here. But what if...maybe... Before you could finish your thoughts you could feel strong strong arms embrace you "I'm here for you my love. I know what it feels like..you can talk to me about it. Or we won't if you want." You felt seen by Dick. He understood what it's like. "I just.. i don't know why but i just feel like this. I feel like at any point something terrible is gonna happen and i don't know what to do! I don't know why I feel like this... I don't want to feel like this!" You rambled and Dick listened.
"I know...We can set up cameras around the apartment if that'll make you feel safer. I know what this feels like and i know it's hard to live with this feeling." You didn't say anything, still feeling like shit. He out of most knew what this felt like. He knew just what you felt. "Plus you know me and Haley would kick anyone's ass if they even dared to look at you bad." You chuckled and he had a smile on his face happy to know he could make you laugh.
For the rest of the night he told you stories from his time in the circus until you fell asleep. He caressed your face and placed a kiss on your forehead.
"I love you."

The Scott Family Essay
I’m feeling so emo about the family of Nathan, Haley, Jamie, and Lydia in One Tree Hill. I’ve never seen a family like them on TV before. I feel like you have three major kinds of families on TV.
1. You have the old model like in “I Love Lucy” for instance where they may make a big deal of the pregnancy and birth but once the child is born writers feel like the interest over a baby is going to fade so they just kinda hide the child. The baby sleeps about 12 hours a day and then spends the rest of the day in daycare. Something like that either way, the child is rarely seen again.
2. You have shows like “Full House” and “Family Matters” where because they are sooo family driven, they do focus a lot on the children and their relationship with their parents.
3. You have a “Friends” kind of situation which is about 3 steps away from the I Love Lucy model. In the following years writers realized they couldn’t metaphorically bury the child so they trot them on set about a couple times an episode. Maybe have them say a couple precocious quips but then they trot them off set because they still want the focus to be on the adult and their adult relationships. As a result, those relationships don’t feel very genuine. You know on an intellectual level that the parents love their children but you don’t see that love in action.
With “One Tree Hill”, I discovered a new model of TV families. First off, they made a couple really good decisions right off the bat. The baby was born at the end of season 4 and then they made a good decision to have a four year time jump before season 5 so when they come back, Little Jamie is no longer a baby but a precocious four year old. The second good decision was hiring Jackson Brundage who was a very talented child actor who could carry dramatic scenes pretty well and also was super hilarious and precocious in his line delivery.
They then made a few interesting story choices. Firstly, they decided to make him the focus of quite a few big heady dramatic plotlines. Like when Nathan and Haley are having marital problems and he’s very much in the middle of that. Or the time when he was kidnapped and then saved by Grandpa Dan or nearly drowned and then saved by Nathan. So not only would they trot him out for the precocious comic relief, they would also focus some dramatic plotlines on him. All the while, the show was still about 90% about the adults and their adult relationships.
They did a third thing which was just adding little filler scenes that weren’t particularly dramatic or precocious... just little small domestic moments of Haley having a heart to heart with Jamie while at a park or Nathan taking Jamie to his workplace when he’s coaching the Ravens. You really get the sense that Nathan and Haley love Jamie and want to be present in his life. And the scenes when he’s not with his parents he’s being nannied by his uncle or his grandmother or grandfather. The child never goes to Daycare. He’s pretty privileged to have family who is able to care for him all the time. But on a story level that makes him feel more present in the story cause the people caring for him are the same ones who are in the A plot or the B plot of the episode.
The fourth thing is that James and Joy are so good at bringing little physical intimacies to their relationships on screen. You see the little intimacies with each other like all the numerous kisses Nathan plants on Haley’s forehead or in a scene when they’ll just be talking and Nathan will be playing with her hair. Or how Haley loves to just randomly pull on Nathan’s tie when he’s wearing one. And there are so many others. These little intimacies that are more than likely unscripted really make the relationship real and intimate and it’s not something that every actor does. I feel like it takes a really trusting work relationship to do that so comfortably. To feel safe to go beyond what the script says in a romantic context. But you also see that in the non romantic, in the platonic or familial relationships that James and Joy depict on screen. They add those little things with Jamie. James will kiss the top of Jamie’s head. There’s one scene in season 5 where Haley and Jamie are having a heart to heart in the park and she does this little thing that is hard to fully explain so i’ll also show a couple screenshots...

They are laying head to head and Haley reaches back and starts playing with his hair. It’s these little gestures and domestic moments that make them feel like a real family, like a real mother and son, or father and son. It makes it feel so real and genuine and makes you believe that they love each other and they love their children. This essay has focused a lot on Jamie but the relationship between Lydia is also sweet, once she’s born. It’s a bit different because she’s just a little newborn baby but they still made that relationship feel sweet, real, and genuine.
All this is why the Scott Family is the greatest family that has ever been on television as far as i’m concerned! 💗

Ooh more about the 911/OTH AU???
I have so many thoughts too, by no means an exhaustive list:
- They’re always grounding forces for each other and trying to save each other
- Buck/Nate have a history of being promiscuous—imagine Eddie is feeling petty after a fight and demands a list from Buck! And then Buck makes two lists, one with only Eddie’s name on it 🥹
- Haley told a story on their first date about feeling like she was the only one who could take care of her mom when she was sick, kind of like Eddie felt responsible for driving his laboring mom to the hospital
- Although different in nature, Nate/Buck’s parents make it clear to their sons that they weren’t wanted and only existed for a singular purpose (Nate to lives out Dan’s failed dreams/Buck to save his brother); Dan then abandoned his other son altogether, and the two eventually united against him like Buck/Maddie did against the Buckleys
- “Always and forever” vs. “have my back”
- Ooh, traumatic incidents with both kids involving water! (Jamie falling in the pool/Chris in the tsunami)
- Nate/Buck dealing with Haley/Eddie “leaving” for extended periods of time
- Haley depression/Eddie PTSD eras
- Buck/Nate for sure have ADHD
- Oh there was a moment when Haley/Nathan were talking to Jamie about handling a school bully and Haley said gave a stern look and something like “Violence isn’t the answer, right, honey?” to Nate; kinda like the video game scene! 🎮
Now I’ve rambled lol, these two shows have me in a chokehold, even though one of them is over 20 years old 😵‍💫 oh and not to be on the nose, but as of a few days ago, we knows there’s a 🏀 theme to both shows
yesss they absolutely are always there for the other no matter what!
oww i love the name thing 🥺
the parents and kids relationships have so many parallels! just the parents putting all their failures on their kids and not wanting them to do better, but to do what they couldn’t.
i meant to mention the always/forever thing vs the i’ve got your back bc they’re so??? it’s just their things 🥹🥹
the tsunami and pool is soo good! damn how did i miss that! (i’m totally adding these things to my idea list for the au btw 😂)
ahhh the good cop vs bad cop parents!! that’s so good too!
i’m definitely gonna be doing some blending on the characters bc not all the ideas/character traits match up exactly or work for the ideas i have in mind, but they just parallel the basis of naleys story so so well!
oh yea, both these shows definitely have me in a chokehold so i get it 😂 i’m on my—i don’t even know what number rewatch tbh 😂 i watched season 5–9 live so it’s definitely been a fave for awhile. i saw vicki @wikiangela was watching so i had to go rewatch with her 🙈 but i’m alway up for talking about these pairings, so feel free to reach out whenever 🤗
