i've seen figure skater sanji and hockey player zoro before. idk if its been explored but i'd love to put it out there:
hockey player sanji (specifically goalie bc he desperately wants to avoid being checked) and then pairs skater zoro.
pairs skater zoro's long time partner has been nami. though many people ship them together a Lot, they just know each other super well. Well enough to try dating and both of them realized they don't swing that way. in fact, it makes them a really good team. they fought long and hard to claim top spots in competitions because they portray a chemistry that's separate from the rest. plus zoro can carry nami like she weighs fucking nothing. so their lifts are so much more dynamic. they even have a whole next to impossible combination that they're trying to get the ISU to name after them officially.
sanji plays for the East Blue Straw Hats in the Grand Line Hockey League – a formidable rookie group that took down lots of big names in the preseason. they want to make it all the way to the postseason playoff finals but always seem to fall short. but theyre so determined. they reignited a lot of old sparks that were no longer there for old fans and brought in new and curious fans. sanji is the starter goalie and a damn good one at that. it makes sense bc goalies are often doing splits on the ice just to make a save. he's perfected the technique that utilizes just his legs to make saves that make the crowd go fuckin insane.
we have the usual "i booked the rink to practice before you did" trope but a little more spice. in actuality, sanji loves watching pairs skating competitions. his favorite pair rn is franky and robin (mostly for robin). and he adamantly does not want to admit to anyone that he watches zoro and nami's routines much more frequently. (and if anyone asks, he always says its bc of nami. its never just bc of nami.) and zoro's besties with luffy so he always watches their matches even if he barely understands the rules. and he definitely does not stare at a certain blond starter goalie most of the match thats fucking ridiculous
one day zoro and sanji are invited to do one of those comparison videos between hockey players and figure skaters. both get to laugh at the other even Attempting to do their sport. zoro frankly looks ridiculous in all of sanji's usual goalie get-up. and sanji couldn't land an euler to save his life. the video producer suggests they try a simple pairs skating routine. sanji is like "oh i couldn't do that–hEY WHAT THE FUCK MOSSHEAD PUT ME DOWN" because zoro lifted sanji and had him sat on his shoulder like it was normal.
zoro smirks, "you might be lighter than nami, actually. wanna be my new partner?"
sanji knees him in the stomach before skating away while blushing so hard he could melt the ice beneath him.

You grabbed his face and brought the cup to his mouth forcing him to drink. A bit of the drink fell from the side of his mouth and you were quick to wipe it off with your thumb.

His next mistake was going shopping with the both of you. Once spotting you two at the malls entrance, Jisung was in a slight panic seeing what you wore. You drove in two different cars, Jisung in his own and Minho in his with you. When you arrived, you were wrapped around Minho’s arm in a crop top, a mini skirt, and platform converse. The whole outfit hugged your body in all the right places and the shoes were the ones Jisung got you for your birthday earlier this year. Seeing him eye you up and down you asked him a question.
“Don’t I look pretty?”
Jisung responded with a light nod, refusing to open his mouth for fear he would say something that would clue Minho in on his racing thoughts. You looked at him with a pout that Minho realized so he pat your head and kissed your forehead.

“Oh okay let’s continue shopping then for now and meet up with him later. I wanted to get some more clothes anyway.”
You led him to a store and he followed. Rushing to the womans section, you almost left him behind in excitement. After picking some dresses and skirts, you wanted to go to the dressing rooms to try them on and make sure they fit how you wanted them too. Jisung offered to wait at the cash register but you insisted he came with you and waited to judge the outfits.
The first outfit you tried on was a pink dress, it was super pretty and complemented your skin tone. He clapped and you spun before doing a curtsey and going back in to try on more clothes. You came out in a couple skirts and shirts and he complimented every one of them. After trying on another dress you asked him a question.
“Why didn’t you compliment me earlier but are so willing to now? Did Minho make you nervous?”
“What? No, I just uh like these better so I’m more vocal about it, that’s all.”
You made a hm sound and went back in the dressing room. When trying to take off the dress, you realized the zipper was stuck. You smiled at yourself in the mirror, and feigned an innocent voice.
“Um Sungie? Can you help me I’m stuck in this dress.”
He froze in place and tried to talk to you from outside the door.
“Uh you sure you’re stuck? You can’t get out at all?”

“Please Sungie, do it for me! I don’t wanna rip the dress or mess the zipper up because I can’t see it.”

Stuff from Episode 7 bc i rewatched it too much
First of all. The new Glitch intro looks freaking awesome, I noticed that they left out V this time so sorry V fans, you won’t even get to see her in the intro lmao

like it doesn't seem like MUCH but it's a lot considering how much time it takes up.
i coded today for maybe 5hrs and got 160 lines done, which a CHAPTER has around 2000-8000 per chapter. 🤷♀️
publishing depends on my mood, although it has been messed up for the last month but i used to publish once everyday, but since it's changed i've been stressed out.
editing can be time consuming, and depending on if it's a transition edit or just shakes and whatnot it can take between 15 minutes to an hour and a half, and it's hard finding the motivation lol.

WIBTA if I told my friend I couldn’t accept their gift to me?
I (27nb) have a complicated history with my best friend, Red (31nb). When we met, we were both married. I was in an open marriage and they were testing the waters with poly.
We had a deep connection from the start and eventually I ended up dating both Red and their wife, Yellow (26f). The two of them weren’t prepared to be in a poly relationship and things fell apart really quickly. Red told me they were seriously considering a divorce right after and we were having an emotional affair before I learned what that was and went no contact for about 4 months.
Just before I figured out we were having an emotional affair, Red and I went on a hike together because they needed to get some distance from Yellow (they just had a huge fight). We found 2 seeing stones (rocks with naturally occurring holes going all the way through the rock), I kept one and Red kept one. I turned mine into a pendant and wore it everyday for about a month, when we went no contact.
When we went no contact I gave them back all their things I had and included the seeing stone necklace because it hurt to much for me to keep.
Once we reconnected to try being just friends, I found out they had been wearing the seeing stone every day since I gave it to them. I was OK with this because I put a lot of work into it and wanted them to keep it safe. Red and Yellow started couples therapy, I divorced my ex husband (unrelated) and I started seeing a really sweet and kind man, Blue (28M). All was well.
Except a few months after we reconnected, Red started wearing their wedding ring on the same cord as the seeing stone. I’ve felt uncomfortable with this but didn’t say anything because I didn’t think it was my place since how they wear their wedding ring is their business and Yellow seems to be aware and AOK with it.
Apparently, this whole time Red has been trying to work on the seeing stone they brought home from our hike so that they can make it into a pendant for me.
I feel very uncomfortable with this because of our history. I talked to Blue about it and let him know the history and my feelings on the topic and he thinks Red is still in love with me but he trusts me and thinks what ever I decide is ok with him.
Red is super important to me but I’ve had to aggressively put up boundaries to keep things on the up and up (they aren’t allowed to touch me with out permission, we can only hang out in groups or public areas, etc) because I’ve felt uncomfortable and tbh Yellow told me she felt her feelings don’t matter in all of this (since then I’ve been trying really hard to make sure I take her feelings into account when doing anything that involves Red. I don’t like Yellow but she doesn’t deserve to feel like she doesn’t matter or that her feelings are invalid).
I don’t think I feel comfortable accepting the pendant from Red especially since they’ve expressed they want me to wear it. I’d be ok with maybe having it as a key chain or attached to my backpack but idk if even that would be inappropriate.
Yellow knows Red has been working on this for me and is apparently ok with it, so am I being over sensitive? Is it ok for me to accept it and keep it as a key chain or something? I value my friendship with Red so much and don’t want to lose them but I’m worried I’d be crossing a line if I accepted it and worried I’d hurt them if I told them I felt uncomfortable with wearing it.

Note: it was such a weird thing to mix them.
Jack was half hidden in your garage, the relationship was still private. There were rumors and theories because out of sudden, Jack Hughes was really interested on F1. He had been on the Canadian GP and one of the USA's too. Now, it was the second USA GP of the season and he was more than used to the atmosphere.
This time, he had brought a couple of his teammates. Luke, John and Nico were with him also half hidden from the cameras.
The race was intense and you were dominating. Until George took a turn way too wide and you couldn't avoid hitting him. Jack had loudly gasped when he saw your car hitting the barriers and then spin. But luckily, it stopped before things got worse.
"Wow, that was..."
Luke patted his shoulder. "She is good, man"
They watched in awe how you pulled your car back in the race, having gone from P5 to P11. You tried to focus on the 15 minutes left in the race to try and at least get in the points. What you didn't know is that during those 15 minutes, pictures of Jack and the guys appeared all over the internet. People started posting more and more, somehow your relationship with Jack was exposed, people had caught you having dinner with him last night and you hadn't even notice.
You could make it to P9 and climbed down your car slightly pissed. You could have finished almost on the podium but no. Russell had gone wide and fucked your race.
You could feel the eyes on you as you walked around the paddock. You hadn't even seen Jack yet. You had only talked to your media assistant and engineer. And she had told you to take deep breaths and not react.
"What does it mean?"
"YN, your relationship was outed during the race"
You gasped.
"What?"
"People started posting pictures of you while you were driving"
"Shit" You ran your hand over your sweaty hair. "Have you seen Jack?" You asked suddenly worried.
"We told them to stay on the hospitality for a bit. We rather have them there for a little bit. Be ready for the questions and please, deep breaths"
You nodded and sipped and your drink.
"Let's go, it's your turn"
"Hi, YN. Unfortunate race"
You nodded.
"Yeah, you can say that."
"Some rumors have been running this last weeks. We know this kind of things can affect mentaly. Has this been the case? Pictures of you and Jack Hughes are filling social media right now. Has this affected your concentration during the race?"
"No. It's illegal to check the phone when you drive" You said deadpan.
Jack snorted a laugh. He loved you so much.
"So... You relationship with Jack didn't affect the way you raced today?"
"I had an amazing quali, a good start and a good race. It was George Russell who affected my race, not my boyfriend. And now, I'd like to hear you ask everyone else about their relationships. Are you going to do that too?"
Your media assistant pinched you, but she was smirking. You were a professional.
"Are you confirming Jack Hughes and you are dating?"
You rolled yours eyes. "Enough questions"
When you arrived to your motor home, Jack was there first to see you.
"Hey..."
You sighed and hugged him. "It's so difficult being a girl in a men dominated sport" You groaned on his chest.
"You are a badass. Queen of sarcastic remarks" He said and kissed your temple. "That's why I love you"
You giggled and looked up at his blue eyes. "Because of my passive aggressive comments and 0 patience?"
"Exactly"
You chuckled and pecked his lips. "I love you too"
He cupped your face and kissed you deeper.
"Guys, your relationship is public now, but your sex life should stay like that" Luke groaned from his place on your sofa.
"Shut up, moosey" you said. "I'm very affected"
Jack chuckled and hugged you tight. "No matter what they said, you raced well. And that George Russell guy..."
You rolled your eyes. "He is not a bad guy, he is a friend. No need to worry"
"He better not push you like that again" He muttered and kissed your nose.
"No need to worry, just think of it as one of your fights."

I’m also a "Paul is not meaningfully attracted to men" person. He just reads so so straight to me (although I do think his relationship to other men in general is odd!). What did Paul think his relationship with John was exactly? What a great question, and I’ll give you my feelings which is I definitely DONT think Paul ever thought about it while they were together. I truly believe P+J were in an emotional relationship (I.e. they were basically on the dating level but without the romantic aspect) because Paul was doing so much emotional managing of John and John gave Paul emotional support. They both put a ton of unqualified emotional labor in to an each other that’s usually reserved for a romantic relationship (for men). (But I also don’t think either of them were super aware of that while it was happening. I think John knew there was an exchange there but didn’t really understand it till later). I think in the 80s directly after John died Paul went on a journey to figure out what happened in their relationship and I think he found things out that really shook him. I think he maybe realized there was a romantic element to their relationship (especially from johns pov) but then I also think he kinda rejected it after realizing it brought up so much guilt within him. I think he has slowly realized over time John wasn’t such a great partner to him but then he hates thinking about that so he vacillates wildly between love and anger and grief. I think he went through a period in the 80s were he genuinely thought “maybe I should’ve just … “ but can’t quite let himself think about it. I think he thinks I could’ve loved him enough to make him stay I wish I had but it was too scary he wanted too much from me. I think now as an old man he thinks I love him that much now it doesn’t scare me anymore I could’ve hugged him and kissed him easily I wish I hadn’t been so uptight (and I don’t mean that romantically). I think he romanticizes the times they laid in bed together because there was an intimacy there he deeply misses. I think John was the first love of his life and I think he’s realized it now (like now now) but it took him 20/30 years post him dying to kinda realize that. Again I don’t mean romantically I think in the sense of I put as much emotional labor in to John as I did in to Linda (although obviously much more with Linda). While they were in their relationship I think Paul only thought of it as like.. natural?? This is just how we naturally are. We legally own a piece of each other and so it’s natural I take this much interest and care. I think Jane forced him to question his relationship with John many times and mostly he dodged it but there definitely came a time where it scared him that people could think of them as queer which is kinda like step one in to their fractured relationship. Now I think he looks back on it like so what? So what if I loved him and he loved me (once again this is like a recent thing). I don’t think it was sexual for Paul but was it sexual for John? I think johns sense of sex was wildly distorted so any deep feeling was entangled with sex and certainly intimacy was entangled with sex (that’s probably also an era thing so Paul falls in to that as well) so I think John in particular struggled with sexual desire and intimacy desire being intermixed. And I have to say I do think Paul’s relationship with John wildly effected his sexuality and sense of sex especially since they met so young I think John had a huge impact on how Paul relates to sex so to say it’s completely detached from their relationship? Err I can’t quite dismiss it! But I think it mostly comes across in Paul’s relationships with women than in with John. I just look at the dynamics Between Paul and Francie and Jane and Heather in particular and I think there’s echoes of John here. Idk what that means for Paul but!! Sex definitely plays a part but I don’t see it as Sex and Romance combined it’s definitely different quadrants.

I find myself agreeing with a lot of it, though I'm slightly unclear what you mean by emotional labour. I do see Paul as taking on somewhat of a role of John's carer, though more in an almost parental way, but while I think John loved Paul a lot I'm not sure what labour he was doing? He does seem to have played a role in calming Paul's nerves, as that one scene in Get Back shows, but it's hard for me to gauge how often stuff like that occurred.
Anyways! Here's stuff I really really like/want to emphasize from your take: (under the cut to not clog everyone's dash):

This! I also think it wouldn't be technically wrong to call the way they were natural. Personally, I think it kind of was. They spent an insane amount of time together, went through the one-way-door of fame together, worked on art together – which IS intimate in my opinion – plus there was that whole mother dying bond. So, I sort of get it, if Paul looked at his atypically close relationship to John and didn't feel like it was out of the ordinary in that way. Also great point re:"we legally own a piece of each other". I think it's kind of fascinating the way their names were legally tied to each other in a way that echoes real marriages. It plays a huge part in Paul's "claim" on John during the post-1980 Widow Wars.

I definitely think this is possible, though I'm very on the fence about whether it happened. Either way, the amount of guilt that realization could bring about seems insurmountable to me. If I found out something like that it would be soul-crushing to be honest.

I think this is a great point, though I feel a lot of that anger must have already come to the forefront when the breakup happened. What does seem to have happened since is Paul trying to understand John's mental health problems, in his own, kind of problematic way. I think this is the place his whole bringing up John's family situation shtick originates from: a misguided attempt to contextualize John's less savoury behaviour. And of course, the fact that John was deeply troubled, did struggle immensely with his own self-image, did have major abandonment issues does in the end make the guilt of not being able to help him more (by "loving him enough" or by getting him professional help that wasn't really available at the time) at odds with the justified anger Paul felt at the hurt John caused him. I think this is a seriously under-explored piece of Paul's post-1980 feelings for John, and I get why: Paul downplays it massively because it's a dark road.
There's also an inherent trade-off between Paul finally internalizing that John did in fact genuinely care about him and him subsequently realizing that perhaps John wanted more. It's deeply sad however you choose to spin it :(
And lastly, yeah, I've wondered if, if Paul knew John had harboured romantic feelings for him, would he think "well... I could have done that". Not because he necessarily genuinely desired it, but because it's so hard to imagine post-hoc anyways, and he just wants something that will fix it, and in the world of hypotheticals, anything is better than the reality we're living in.

Yeah… Yeah. Again, this makes perfect sense to me. It honestly makes me kind of sad to see how tactile he is with Ringo these days. Like he'll give him a cheek kiss as a greeting and I just mourn the carefree intimacy That Could Have Been, y'know, that clearly he regrets not having with John.

I do kind of wonder if him realizing that after the fact might also mean that it may in fact be somewhat revisionist of him to think of it that way. And that isn't to say that John didn't mean an immense amount to him at the time, but I guess the idea of a "love of one's life" is somewhat constructed if that makes sense. Like part of someone being the love of your life is that you think of them that way. So if he only began thinking of it that way after John died, is that the same as if he had realized it while they were together? I think this is an interesting question. In a way, Paul continues to shape the reality of his relationship to John to this day – which is not the same as lying or delusion in my opinion! It's simply that as he ages the lens with which he looks back inevitably keeps changing with him.

Could you elaborate on this? I agree that Jane probably called his relationship to John into question, but I've never seen anything indicating directly that Paul was worried people thought him and John were in a romantic relationship at the time (clearly, the rumours that cropped up after the fact have bothered him). I know there's that Apple Scruff report where just, after telling the groupies who hung around Cavendish that he would be marrying Linda soon and receiving blank stares in response, he exploded like "what??? you think I'm some queer who'll never get married???" but that particular story isn't directly linked to his relation to John. Is there another story I've missed?
That being said, I think Paul felt self-conscious about how John took it, thinking back to Paul being afraid dying George would swat him away for holding his hand. And we know John used to regularly disparage Paul for being "sissy" in various ways.

Also agree with this a lot actually! Both that the way they both put marriage on a pedestal is definitely a historical thing and it's true that makes the atypicalness of their friendship more ""questionable"" in that sense; it's one of the reasons I've never wholly dismissed Full Reciprocated McLennon™, because this aspect is somewhat better accounted for by that version of events. And yes, it's undeniable they experienced sex together, if not necessarily with each other.
(But Fiona! Confirmed circlejerks??? – Again, this is a fair point, but I do think this falls into the ambiguous of category of "could be gay – could not be" where it just kind of depends how the participants think of it plus how much they're actively thinking about everyone else involved and if so, in what way. If you personally consider it gay no matter what, then congrats, John and Paul had sex, but I don't know that Paul agrees with you and if he doesn't I don't think that would necessarily constitute denial.)

Heya Halfa!
I'm watch Hercules for the first time in a while and something about it made me think about your WonderBat dcdp fic, and gave me an idea to share with you for a fic with Diana being Danny's bio mom, could be WonderBat or not, idk, I'm still very much on a Danny/Jason kick so if it's not WonderBat that's open.
But essentially Danny was adopted by the Fenton's and maybe a checkup with Frostbite has Danny realizing there's more to his powers than being a halfa, but he doesn't know what exactly? So, I'm thinking he just tells the Fentons he wants to find his bio parents, not being out as Phantom, but Idk, and i trust your thoughts.
Basically, just Hercules as inspiration, not trying to stick to its plot, tho doing Dead on Main and Jason as Meg ajfjkshda it would be quite funny
Idk, just had to share this with you, hope it brings you some of the joy the thought brought me!!

GOSH I love Disney's Hercules! Hades is an entire mood, and I love him for it. Definitely one of my fave villains ever. But now that you mention the idea...
If we did base it off on bloodlines, where Danny is taken as a child (and like Hercules was taken from his parents in the movie), then we could always make this a Super-Wonder... Wonder-Super? Superman and Wonder Woman ship, but their relationship was very brief. This was before he and Lois had gotten together and got married. And they do canonically date sometimes, and even had a child together in at least one universe, so it wouldn't be super weird.
So basically, Danny grows up a quasi-god (quarter-god? Ugh, that's confusing-) and half-Kryptonian. Except due to his life style and exposure to ectoplasm, his Kryptonian powers don't kick in like a normal half-Kryptonians would. But he does have a measure of super hearing- which gets diagnosed as another symptom of his ADHD later. And he does have freeze-breath! Which is why people aren't super surprised if they catch some cold mist coming out of his mouth when he becomes a halfa, they're pretty sure he's just always been like that?
But for one reason or another, Danny leaves Amity Park for an extended amount of time. Oh! His family takes a vacation to a beach, somewhere nice and sunny. And then Danny gets irritated about something, or maybe there's just a fly bothering him and he glares at it from a distance only to shoot red laser eyes at it and promptly freaks the fuck out. His ectoplasm has never been red before!
He runs off to Frostbite and the Far Frozen as soon as he can, begging for the yeti to help him because there must be something wrong with him! Frostbite is awfully confused at first, and then he asks Danny if he showed any other habits or behaviors before he'd become a halfa. And so Danny explains how he could hear things most people couldn't, but he'd been diagnosed as neurodivergent, and that wasn't exactly uncommon, and then he explained how technology always worked a little funny around him even before his accident and that's why his parents never thought anything was off when their inventions were wonky around him now (he doesn't realize he has lightning manipulation from his bio!mom's side, thus accidentally zapping devices every once in a while), and a handful of other things and it all culminates into this:
Frostbite is pretty sure Danny has never been fully human.
Which would thus lead Danny onto a journey of self-discovery and self-fulfillment and oh yeah, there's a ghost Minotaur that wants to rip his head off his body and they've got a hostage to go along with them. In Danny's opinion, Red Hood makes for a very poor hostage, but he's not about to tell them that either.

Okay this is kind of a vent but am I the only one who thought s4 of The Dragon Prince felt really,, off?
Like it was good and well executed and all of this could very well just be a consequence of COVID and Netflix messing with season four's production but something about this season felt really weird. And, truthfully, it's kind of the everything that feels off.
A lot of the characters felt very out of character. I'm sorry but Callum should've been rightfully VERY upset with Rayla. She abandons him on the day of his birthday after he nearly loses her to the moon lake, after she makes a promise to stay with him and get through all of their shit together, and she DOESN'T COME BACK FOR YEARS. And when she does come back, they're suddenly just really awkward but still in love??? HUH??? Did I miss something?? Why are they still in their "awkward, before they get together" phase??? Callum should rightfully be extremely upset with Rayla if not furious with her!! You could have kept them amicable when Rayla comes back! She could be a bit distant but still hopeful that Callum will forgive her easily but realizes Callum is angry and is trying to be kind to her even though he's clearly not happy! Let him tell her off! Why didn't he do that??? You could still have him be nice but there's a bittersweetness to it.
Speaking of Rayla, she felt off too. Idk she just,, wasn't distant enough. You'd think after being alone for years on end she'd be a bit less trusting of others, even the friends she knew. But people change! She shouldn't have been sure how much Callum would've changed. Also her lemur doesn't look right. She noticeably stands out amongst the other characters and creature designs. Bait, although he looks a bit like a plushy, works because he feels like a unique creature to this world. Rayla's lemur just straight up looks like a doll. She doesn't look right. Also she's just a lemur with extra limbs. That's it. And she's kind of purple. Why not get weirder with her and mash her up with another animal? Like a squirrel or maybe a hawk? Idk she just doesn't look right.
Claudia also feels,, very strange. Like yes she's funny and dorky but her antics felt really amped up this season. She feels dumber somehow. And Claudia isn't dumb. She's very smart actually but she can be oblivious sometimes. But I dunno she feels too comedic this season which creates such a whiplash for me. She's the villain and brought her father back from the dead. So why is she so,, dumbed down? Also her boyfriend,, he's fine I suppose? But why would Claudia be dating an elf? HE'S AN ELF. He also doesn't like dark magic?? Huh?? Wouldn't it be more of a novel concept for him to be an elf who also wants to do dark magic? Shouldn't he be in favor of that? Why was he against it? Terry never feels like a proper villain. And outside of dating Claudia, he has no motive to stay with her or her father! He doesn't like dark magic so why is he with Claudia? How did they meet? How did they become friends? What made her like him?? CAUSE HE SEEMS THOROUGHLY ALIGNED WITH THE ELVES in terms of worldviews on magic! Terry also feels out of place in terms of his comedy. The fart joke thing got old fairly quickly for me as well. I get it, it's a kid show, but I dunno it felt a little too much like writer's weird fetish in certain places.
Ezran feels fine though in terms of writing. He still feels in character and like he's evolved. He's wiser and has been ruling as king for a while now. And I like that they kept the friendship with him and Zym the same, that was nice! I just wish Zym could talk now that's he's older. Also, shouldn't he be a bit bigger? Tbh I always thought dragons grew super quickly as adolescents. Ah well, not issues with them. Also Soren. He is still the loml and I can't ever hate him. I do wish he could've bonded with and kept a wyvern though. That would've been cool as hell.
Now for the animation. It was too smooth for me. I love the choppy uneven Spiderverse inspired look of the second and third season so much! But in s4, I could barely find spots where the animation wasn't super smooth. The colors of this season are also way off. We spend a majority of the time in (what I am assuming is) Earthblood elf territory but the colors don't look right. They don't gel together very well. This is especially noticeable in the cave scene towards the end of the season. All of those crystals were so deeply saturated and NONE of those colors looked nice together. Especially on gray speckled rock. It was hard for me to see what I was supposed to be looking at! Emphasis and focus were two aspects which this show really seemed to struggle with this season in terms of visuals. The updated character designs look nice though, I don't have any qualms there (aside from the lemur).
Except for the Earthblood elves. WHY DID YOU TAKE AWAY THEIR COOL TREE BRANCH HORNS CONCEPT ART. They had moss and leaves on their shoulders and bodies. And cool swirly carvings. Why did they take that away :(
This season also feels like it's missing a LOT of setup for a LOT of lore and plot points. Especially the plot point with Callum being possessed by Aaravos. WHERE DID THIS COME FROM?? HOW CAN AARAVOS DO THIS?? THIS BEGS THE QUESTION WHY AARAVOS DIDN'T FORCE VIREN SO CUT HIS HAND AND DO THE CATERPILLAR THING WILLINGLY. AARAVOS SHOULDN'T HAVE THE ABILITY TO AFFECT THE OUTSIDE WORLD RIGHT?? AM I GOING INSANE?? AND WHY DOES AARAVOS EVEN WANT TO POSSESS CALLUM?? BECAUSE HE CAN DO MAGIC?? HE ONLY KNOWS SKY MAGIC AS OF S4. I FEEL LIKE I'M GOING INSANE.
Idk maybe all of my issues with this season will be remedied by s5 which I still need to watch. Just needed to vent this out. I still like this show and I'll keep watching it but man, it's gained some problems for me I can't really seem to ignore. Especially since the first 3 seasons were so well paced.

hii!!! i have a lil request! its smth ive been thinking a lot about bc i love him so much, but how do u think shoto would be with someone whos like super counter-culture? like super goth or punk or gyaru or smth! im personally really into goth and have lots of facial piercings including some that are not super common like angel fangs as well as a bunch of tattoos, brightly dyed hair and dress kinda trad goth on the regular w bones and all that.
i can kinda see him maybe catching interest in someone whos so outside of the norm in style as a way to kinda fuck w his dad since he grew up so traditionally and all that, but also he seems like he'd be too kind to actually follow through with dating someone solely to spite his dad.

he’d be in awe just by looking at them standing, breathing, doing nothing— the wrist guards (solely for aesthetics, a shock for shouto since he needs those in the heroics) leg warmers, colorful hairpins, intricate and one of the kind hairstyles—
your overall fashion sense has him gawking.
it’s almost rude (and is about to become that way) the way he’s just opening staring at you like some kid on an airplane— but y’know, he’s kinda cute so you don’t make much of it. on top of that, you should probably mind your business, and not start some beef with the current #1 hero’s youngest and also famous son.
when he gets to know you more, he finds himself liking you— whether or not your personality aligns perfectly with your chosen aesthetic, or it’s the polar opposite, he finds himself sticking to you like some lost puppy.
it’s a perfect 50:50 of “i think your personality is cool” and “i need to follow you because i need to look at you more. you LOOK cool”
so he dates you for the reasons above and also because he wants to piss off his dad— because again, looking at you could send endeavor into a shock. (and he dates you genuinely because he actually really likes you and wouldn’t use you without your consent just to spite his very traditional father)
all backstory aside, he goes to you when he needs advice to level up his appearance— that includes fashion. anything you say is noteworthy, and he will absolutely take any advice as long as you say it.
he also comes to you for advice for piercings especially.
yeah, because y’know how it looked like he had some cartilage piercings in some of the latest official arts? he definitely went to you to ask for the pain level and aftercare.

Oh my god, imagine if we had gotten Skyfire in TFP instead of Smokescreen?
No hate to Smokey fans, I'm just asking to picture an AU where if we had to add a new Team Prime member late in the game, it could have been Skyfire. (Please bear with me, I'm mostly just jotting down ideas so it's a bit all over the place)
Idk I just have this very specific dynamic in mind, like:
Skyfire: So I crashed here a gazillion years ago when I was exploring with my science partner.
Arcee: What happened to them?
Skyfire: I... don't know. You didn't find anyone else with me?
Bulkhead: 'Fraid not...
Skyfire: ... Oh.
Bumblebee: *beep boop bwee*!
Raf: Yeah! We'll go back and help you find them!
Skyfire: Really?? But... aren't you guys too busy to mount a search and rescue for a stranger? I don't want to be a burden...
Optimus: Even if you two are strangers to us, we will not abandon a fellow Cybertronian. Saving a life is always worth the effort.
Skyfire: Thank you, Prime.
《LATER》
Ratchet: The medbay is prepped to warm up your friend once they're brought in.
Skyfire: Thank you all again!
Arcee: So what's our perimeter? Did you see where they landed?
Skyfire: Well, no, I crashed before he did.
Bumblebee: *breep bworp*
Skyfire: I suppose it's possible he could have survived...
Miko: Couldn't you look him up in some sort of Cybertronian phonebook and just call?
Skyfire: I did try to reach him, but it seems he's changed his com line. Which makes sense, I suppose. So much has happened...
Bulkhead: Hm... oh! What about the N.A.I.L. census? I know it's super out of date, but...
Miko: Hold on, "Nail" census? Is there a census for sledgehammers too?
Fowler: N-A-I-L. It stands for Non-Aligned Indigenous Lifeforms. They're the Cybertronians who didn't pick a side.
Raf: So... they're neutral? Not Decepticon...
Jack: ... or Autobot.
Ratchet: A census was created and distributed among the N.A.I.L.s so they would be able to find eachother after the exodus. They planned to regroup and form their own colonies off-world.
Optimus: Hm. It would be a good idea to exhaust our options that avoid risk.
Skyfire: Agreed! Let's check out that census.
Arcee: I can pull it up. What's your friend's name again? You guys were from Vos, right?
Skyfire: Mhm. And his name is Starscream.
Team Prime: ...
Skyfire: ... Do you want me to spell that for you, or...?
Miko: I'm sorry, I think I misheard you, because I could have sworn you just said Starscream.
Skyfire: Uh yup. That's correct.
Arcee: *closes out of the census*
Skyfire: ... is there a problem?
Ratchet: Oh, there are several problems!
Cue Team Prime explaining all the things Starscream has done, and Skyfire has a hard time believing it, so he sets out on his own to see Starscream for himself.
Once they see each other and spend a bit more time with each other, Skyfire can see how much Starscream has changed. But he still cares for him. He thinks Starscream can be better than this, deserves better. He doesn't like the Decepticon culture, the way Starscream has become so paranoid and twitchy and violent, constantly looking over his shoulders and not trusting anyone. That's no way to live!
But as Starscream is about to go back to the Decepticons, he starts a spat with Skyfire. (In his own way, Starscream is just keeping Skyfire out of Megatron's servos, because he knows the shuttle will end up following him.) So Skyfire goes back to Team Prime and is like... "I don't want to take up your brand, but if you'll allow me to stay here I can use my skills to assist in the med bay and help look for energon to share. I don't have it in my spark to go into battle. Of course, I know some basic self-defense, but I just don't want to be involved in this war's violence. I'd much rather heal and help others, and... if at all possible, I want to try to rescue my old friend." and Optimus agrees.
Cue an energon mining mission where Team Prime + Skyfire fall under attack by some vehicons/insecticons or whatever, and Skyfire is able to show off his quick thinking skills and brute strength in front of everyone to save the day! This could be especially impressive to anyone in Team Prime that may have thought N.A.I.L.s were cowards or unable to fight.
Fast forwarding a bit, Skyfire has tried many ways to lure Starscream away from the Decepticons, but the seeker continues to rebuff him, yelling at him to stay away from him, saying cruel things, and renouncing him as a friend. But Skyfire doesn't give up. He explains to the kids when they ask him about his persistence later that he knows Starscream is hurting/is in danger, that he's always been duplicitous when it comes to his true feelings.
Going back to Starscream... imagine if Soundwave presented evidence to Megatron that there's a new face among Team Prime these days. "A new member?" Megatron ponders, but then looks a bit closer, "Hm... they wear no brand. So the Autobots are hosting a neutral? How interesting..." Then Soundwave reveals that Starscream has known about this new arrival, but hadn't reported any of his encounters. What's more, it appears they know each other. "... How very interesting indeed."
Team Prime stumble upon an energon deposit that's already being mined by Decepticons (including Starscream), so they hang back to decide if they should use the element of surprise to strike, or if they should try their luck elsewhere. While observing this mission from back at the base, Skyfire sees Megatron make a surprise visit and confront Starscream. Starscream tries to deny that he even knows him that well, and claims that Skyfire isn't very skilled so he won't be much use to the Autobot's cause. But Megatron doesn't buy it. He grabs Starscream, intent on beating the truth out of him, but Skyfire commandeers the groundbridge and bridges right to their location. We get to see more of that brute strength in action as he hits Megatron from behind, yelling at him to let Starscream go. It disorients Megatron long enough for him to grab Starscream and run off with him, telling him he won't let Megatron hurt him anymore. Skyfire and Starscream don't return to their bases that night.
And that's all I got for now! I figured they'd hide out on earth, possibly in that old ship Starscream had once visited in the show. Maybe they straight up disappear for the rest of the show up until that time where all the kids were captured and had to get exchanged for Omega Keys, or at the end where everyone has to defeat a Unicronified Megatron. Like I want them to show up as Science Bros Who Are Here To Kick Ass And Help... double bonus if things are dire and Wheeljack gets roped in for science stuff too. You'd really have a Moment of a former Decepticon, an Autobot Wrecker, and a Neutral working together and that would just be Neat.

Magnum PI 5.08 “Out of Mind, Out of Sight” review
Okay, we all called it but still, I did very much enjoy dressed up Miggy being all adorable on their date. Until of course, it all went horribly terrifyingly wrong. Man, those were some freaky hallucinations.
Anyways…
I’ve been trying to gather my thoughts on this episode and I can’t decide if I’m hugely disappointed or extremely thrilled.
So three plots this week, but I think they made that work even though they were very separated from each other and Childs really had no one to talk to. He was/is really growing on me which means it would make sense for them to kill him. Likeable people die… it’s the TV way.
The Miggy/ case-case
As some clever people had guessed the proposal was not real (I mean we knew it wasn’t going to be real but the fan girl in me so wanted it to be!) but just how quickly it was going to go from ‘awww adorable Miggy date’ to ‘Higgy’s worst nightmare’ had me a little shook. But that wasn’t even really the nightmare… oh boy, that was some freaky hallucinations there at the end, well done.
Problem with putting the proposal and Higgy in trouble first thing… well, I’m just waiting for that moment to happen. So everything leading up to it is a little…well for me, I don’t really super focus on it. Or I didn’t today. So yeah, the Miggy + case was a little bit of a blur to me. I did enjoy our babies having their first fight, brought on by Magnum’s terrible password etiquette and looming death. Very fitting for our duo.
(Also, Higgy, 64 symbol passwords? What are you trying to protect? The lumminati deepest darkest secrets?)
Higgy doing her American accent always amuses me, but I did like southern belle from season 4 better, that was hilarious! A patient figuring it out and Higgy actually telling her because even if the patient told…who’d have believed her?
Magnum just knowing Higgy was in trouble there at the end did annoy me a little. Like come on, surely there must have been a better way? Also him rushing up the stairs - like boy? where are you going? Higgy’s find my phone was offline! Making for good last second rescue drama, sure, but still, not sure it made 100% sense.

Also can we talk about how it’s Higgy having the proposal dream? I half expected, even as I knew it was her dream, for it to be drugged Magnum having the dream. Our girl sure has come a long way :-)
Even if the more horrible bits of that scene, with the two Higgy’s and the padded room/corridor - was my favourite.
Also heartbreaking with the whole “whose blood is that”. In fact that whole drugged Higgy sequence was freaky as shit. I will be having nightmares of American accented Perdie going ‘whose blood is that?’, (and Higgy will be having those nightmares too in the fan fic my muse really wants to write -let’s hope muse-me sticks around when I’m starting at the blank pages of my google docs later…)
Did enjoy bad ass bitch Higgy being all “do you think you’re the first person to drug and interrogate me, you’re an amateur”. Like, part of me really would love to know just all Higgy’s crazy spy adventures.
Anyways, did love most of it and it does fit with nervous Higgy which we have been getting lately, so bonus points for continuity but… still IDK, maybe the clickbait proposal thing but something throws me a little?
I’d have had them hiking at pillbox and being all normal cute and not proposal cute, that would have made for more of a gut punch when Magnum was suddenly coughing up blood. Maybe? Because we wouldn’t have gone ‘oh dream/hallucination’ right away.
Also why did Higgy get banged on the head there at the start and then her wound just disappeared? Did they decide to add that in once filming was done to give her a moment with the creepy nurse or something? At least they could have given her a bandaid? IDK, just random intrusive thoughts made me super annoyed by this.
Childs getting himself killed(?)
So not confirmed dead, but since we seem to be getting a very dramatic mid-season finale next week (which already started this week to be honest!) I’m a little worried about Childs’ survival odds.
Especially since he was almost nice and did claim our faves as his friends. Plus got a cute talk/moments with his GF. That feels like nails in his coffin. But I had just begun to like him so let’s hope.
Gordy and baby-Gordy
The father-son ‘adventure’ to the mainland was maybe my favourite bit. Mostly because of this moment.
This moment really got to me. Because like this is the feeling. The feeling when something happens, and even though bad guy is thrown out/sent to jail, the host lady is all nice and apologetic and stuff, the bad unfair thing still happened. And it will keep on happening. And how do you fucking deal or talk about that.
I feel like this is one of the most relatable things for anyone who has ever been a minority one way or another, as a woman, different ethnicity, religion or social class.
Very much liked that Gordy did find some words to talk about it and found a way to sort of help reclaim the situation at the end. But still. Something weirdly emotional and relatable and important about that just eating in silent scene (for me at least.)
Other than Higgy’s freaky hallucinations and the Miggy feels at the end, Gordon and Dennis’ scenes were the best.

My goodness, not one second of downtime for anyone on this show, ever. Even before the episode we already have.

In the promo we see Higgy doing some seriously impressive flipping over fighting moves (someone make a gif of Higgy kicking ass from the promo, pretty please!) and Rick being chased through the rainforest?
Figuring Shammy saves the day with TC and takes him to Robin’s Nest where we know will be under siege? So TC, Shammy and Magnum & Higgins there and then Rick being hunted on his own?
I’m excited but I’m also not, because frankly I like being the one that causes my faves pain because then I know I can also give them some comfort and happiness later. This just seems like lots of hurt and very little comfort!!!
(At least it seems to not be another slightly disappointing SUV plot line?)
Well, next week can’t come soon enough while at the same time as soon as it does there won’t be any more Magnum until September. Which is a terrible terrible fate and the only good thing about this would be if this made made my muse wake up and I got to finish some of my fics!

not my type (T) - For someone who's allegedly such a ladies' man, Robin sure has a hard time getting a read on what exactly it is Billy looks for in a woman. Until one day she realizes maybe she's been asking the wrong questions. (again... dont know if this counts as fluff mainly bc i wrote it years ago lmfao so... i feel like it had light energy)

Billy has a crush.
The Blackout (M) - Steve worries about Billy during a blackout. Venice Beach Verse!
a cure for sleepless nights (T) - It’s been weeks since Steve has slept properly. He doesn’t know what brought it on except, maybe, a pair of blue eyes and the logical conclusion to a couple of months of self reflection. Whatever started them, they don’t show any sign of letting up.
When he invites Billy Hargrove to one of his and Robin’s movie nights on a whim, he could easily write it off as lack of sleep. But maybe there’s more to it and maybe Steve will find the cure for his sleepless nights, yet.
The Couch Predicament (T) - “Who knew couch shopping would be so difficult. I feel like we have looked at over a hundred. Not the right color. Not the right size. Bad quality.” Steve mumbles, peeking at Billy from between his fingers with his ridiculously large eyes.
“We’ll find one Bambi.”

AITA for causing a friendship to implode?
In college I was very close with my 3 roommates, and we remained close for a year or so after graduation. After this, I began to feel strained in the relationship. I was feeling growing pains as I settled into adulthood and felt like we weren't in the same place in our lives anymore. I didn't want to have drunken sleepovers as our only in-person interactions anymore - they all lived in our college town, I moved an hour away for work, and every time I visited it felt like we were just reliving college, which I was super not interested in doing. They had also brought in another person to the friend group who I was realizing I absolutely did not vibe with and would rather avoid. I decided to keep some distance from the group, and avoid going to any events this extra person would also attend. I didn't say anything about this intention because I didn't want it to be like an ultimatum "choose me or this person," but I turned down a couple invites because of their presence, and I avoided the group chat we had (because starting another chat with the roommates and not this person felt incredibly petty. In retrospect I should have just done this). I was trying not to be a bitch and kick up a fuss about this person. I figured that someday our lives would mesh together better again, and I'd also be able to maintain a relationship with my roommates that didn't involve this person; we were still friends but it was a cool down period. All of my post high school relationships follow this pattern successfully, we don't talk for months and then reconnect like no time at all has passed.
After like 6 months of this, I invited my roommates to a housewarming party (I did not invite the 4th person, and I was ready to own up to not wanting them in my home). My roommates responded thusly: ghosted me with no response; lied about being out of town with family that day (and posted on Instagram from their home during my party); and finally, one texted me to say that I'd "been distant" and they no longer wanted to hold space for a relationship with me. I was blindsided and pretty devastated.
In the 4 years since, I've reached out multiple times to the friend who lied, who has responded politely but, knowing them, is not interested in talking to me, and to the one who ghosted. I was able to meet up with them once, and thought we were healing the relationship, but they flaked on me several times in the months following that discussion and I was tired of being hurt. After I found out they flaked on going to a con with me in favor of going to the con with the roommate who lied, I was done. I told them that their actions didn't match their words and if they were actually interested in a relationship to hit me up in the future. They said "I had a good time at the con, idk why you feel like this?" Bc you avoided me the whole time dude! Our last interaction was a few months after this when a misguided mutual friend told the ghoster to reach out to me when I was going through a traumatic event. My hurt was so fresh from the con situation that I rebuffed the ghosting roommate, not being comfortable with that level of vulnerability in front of them anymore. That was 3+ years ago; I reached out again a couple months ago in one last attempt to reconnect with the ghoster and the one who lied, and received no response. I have no interest at this time in reconnecting with the one who straight dumped me over text.
This has been hurting me for years. Was it my fault that I lost my 3 best friends seemingly overnight? Did I try so hard not to be an asshole that I overcorrected and was an asshole anyway?
Info: for additional context, all 3 are still friends with each other and the 4th person I don't like, and the ghoster and one who dumped me have been dating since graduation. When the dumper dropped me, all our other college acquaintances unfollowed/blocked me on social media, so we no longer have any mutual friends.
