maybe 5 chapters of tnb left to be written? so i'm ruminating on stuff i want to change/expand on in the redraft. i wrote a bit of the new prologue already but i'm thinking of continuing the rewrite a few months after i complete the 1st draft. it's the only thing i've been thinking about lately and i gotta let it simmer for the flavors to be infused lol

but a major revision i want to do is showing more of dimitri & faris exploring being gay/bi in their own way, with one closeted and the other exploring the gay culture in thessalonikki with joy. faris' entire backstory is basically being gay & lonely so there is more of that compared to dimitri, but it's just sprinkles so far.

also every time i did research, i just found a lot of hate for the city, because "it's more homophobic than athens", rather than anything helpful? but i was just reading about the 90s gay club ahududu and it's like, there is an entire life there. despite everything, people still built a life there. and i think that needs to be celebrated, maybe for the very fact life exists in spite of all the forces working against it.
