10 medals so far
Tumblr media
Working in my 11th and 12th (technically not gonna be the 11th as it's gonna take the whole year to do) and have 13th and 14th lined up.
Been walking 5k every morning (or at least 3 mornings this week, the other 2 I was suffering too bad with sunburn to wear a sports bra or want to go outside) and super proud of that. Not going to walk further in the mornings as walking 6-7am is enough for me. May start trying to do a 10k 1 day each weekend soon, but not sure (depends on the weather as it's been too hot to do much lately)

The 7 medals I have done so far

Lost 35lbs, 2.5 stone!
Slowed down on the medal front a bit, as was getting rather expensive. Will be finishing the marathon (Sydney 26.2 miles) one tomorrow and then starting the next marathon (London) after that. (And then mount everest after that because why not plan super far into the future).

I have lost 2 stone!!
So far this year I have lost 28lbs - 2 stone, and I am so happy. Even though it's only put me down to my starting weight from 2019's (2018? I can't remember when I did this shit last) weightloss journey it's still nice to have lost and to know I'm doing something right.
I have to actually wear a belt with my jeans to stop them falling down (can't get to shops until next weekend to buy jeans that fit) which is annoying (I forgot how much I hate wearing belts - the damn thing rides up at the back and sticks to skin) but also nice (not only have I lost weight, I have lost enough that my jeans are way too big)

6 medals in 4 weeks, I need to slow down or I won't have any money left.
Tumblr media
Still bought 2 more now I've finished these. A marathon challenge - walk 26.2 miles in as many goes as needed which I have already done 3miles of today.
And 2021K in 2021 - I'm using all my steps (converted into km according to Samsung Health app) for this including the other challenges, just to prove I do over 2021K a year. - Jan - March I have already walked 563.7Km so over 1/3 there in 1/4 of a year.

And another 10k down! That's 3 medals completed this weekend alone - 2 fully and 1 partially. I feel so good having been able to complete these, at least mentally - physically I'm not sure if I can even walk right now

Finished my 19mile COVID-19 challenge today after walking over 4 miles (in 3 walks)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That makes 3 medals now (smile and wave 5k still to come) and 28.3+ miles walked (as actual walks and not just steps around the house) in 2 weeks.
Now to decide my next challenge, something 'small and quick' (half-marathon), or something super long (200+miles), or do I go for both - small to do quicker and larger to work on 'in the background' ?

Did a 5K walk today, took about an hour and I feel amazing. Another Challenge done and a medal on it's way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Still got 4miles of the COVID-19 challenge to go, but wanted to do a 5K in one go and it's not like there is anything better to do on a bank holiday in semi-lockdown.
Hoping to do 10k in one go some point this long weekend as well if the weather stays nice.

I really am one of those people who sees something shiny and goes 'mine, I need it'.
2 more challenges signed up for cos I like the medal and don't seem to care about 'wasting' money on it. 10K Panda Run, 5K Smile and Wave challenges bought, whilst still got 4 miles of my COVID-19 challenge to go. What did I get myself into?

The medal is so pretty!
Tumblr media
I love that it arrived on a day I couldn't do any walking (outside) due to rain (and my coat being in my car which means getting wet to go get).
Tumblr media
So I signed up for the damn thing, I couldn't resist the medal that combines Coffee and Harry Potter. 10k isn't actually as much as I always thought, and they don't require it to be done in a single run (or walk as I will actually be doing).
Some of their other medals are pretty cute too, so I may end up spending way too much money on these things. At least it encourages exercise.

And I completed it in 4 days - with actual walks rather than just using the number of steps I do each day (which becomes around 5km a day anyway).
I was actually excited to get out and do the walk so I could get the medal, so before even finishing this one today I ordered my next one. 19 miles for COVID-19 challenge - with everything else going to shit I may as well get something positive from this.

So far I have lost 20lbs (technically 21.6 then gained 1.6 back again) and I am starting to notice my jeans trying to fall down, which is nice in that there is proof of the weightloss - and sucks because now I need new jeans.
Also last week my grandad said it looked like I had lost weight, which normally pisses me off when people comment (half the time 'cos I haven't) as weight isn't everything, but actually made me happy that is was noticeable. Now I just gotta keep it off.
Thanks to facebook's ad system I'm thinking of signing up for some of those virtual walking (running/cycling) challenges where you pay some kinda stupid amount of money to eventually get a cute medal. I considered them before but thought £14 was a bit much for some bit of metal that's just going to take up space. But now I'm thinking it will help encourage me to be more active and some of the medals are kinda cute.

Lost 4lbs in 4 days!

Wasn't even intentional (well, losing weight was but not that much that fast). I've never really known what portion sizes are (obviously could look them up online, but it's never really been a thing at home) so I think finally following portion sizes has resulted in a lot less food consumption per meal... but also the realisation 2000 is more than you think. (I blame diet culture for that, what all these fad diet crap tend to make you think is a normal amount of food is nothing - no wonder people cant stick to them and end up putting the weight back on)

Guess who gave up in May 2019 after I had loads of unhealthy stuff at my birthday and put the weight back on (not that quickly but once some goes on the rest follows).
Last year, as with the majority of us - let's face it, anyone who lost weight in 2020 are either lying or didn't have to work - I gained more weight and am heavier than I have ever been (sometimes I wonder how my legs haven't broken)
This year I'm not gonna do any wierd D***s or count the energy in food (Kcals) or try to spend every second I am not working or cooking pacing my living room like an animal in the zoo. I'm just going eat good, not processed / super fatty foods, and try to do around 7,500 steps a day (i was doing 6,000 at the end of last year so it can't be too much extra time of acting a trapped animal - desk jobs don't really allow for a lot of walking throughout the day and 10,000 meant I had no life or no sleep)
Hopefully with this I won't worry too much about going over my calorie allowance or whether the calorie allowance is even right, and have time to focus on my mental health to - which is known to affect weight as well.

35lbs, thats 2.5 stone, lost!
It's been a while since I updated. I had a few bad weeks, and some family Birthdays which meant I had to eat cake so the weights been fluctuating a bit. But I have now lost 35lbs, which I am rather proud of 😋
It doesnt look like 100lbs before 2020 is going to be a realistic goal any more (thanks, Work Stress), but I hope to lose at least 5 stone - double what I have currently lost.
It's also my Birthday week, so more cake and sweets are likely to cause problems. But i'm still going to do at leat 10,000 steps a day, which should help use up the extra calories si less is gained. I also went swimming today, and did 20 lengths of the pool - that's 500m - and burned 666 calories doing it 😈
