I have a theory about synesthesia and autism that im trying to do some form of research on so. Autistics of mine friends and followers.
Do you exhibit something similar to synesthesia traits, and also have autism?
Synesthesia is an incorrect linking of the sensory wires in your brain, which results in having sensory links. You can taste colors, hear flavors, physically feel digital art
Synesthesia symptoms can look like-
Associating things that are completely unrelated in the sense of what they are (tuesday is orange, blue tastes like chocolate, etc) ((this would not include things like math being red because your stationary for it in elementary school was red, its based off of vibes purely))
Certain words taste like certain things, certain colors sound like certain things, etc
If you have these symptoms, tell me about them in tags! What sort of things do you associate, what they taste like or what color they are

you know I have heard from people who have grapheme-color and who learned a second language which used a different script than their first, that as they learned the new language synesthetic colors gradually appeared. So you can make it work, the causality is just backwards.
Yknow I wish my letter-colour synesthesia worked with made up alphabets, I would be so fluent in them by now.

Actually just curious :]
SYNESTHESIA is characterized as a 'cross wiring' of senses in your brain
for example
tasting words
Numbers and letters having personalities
and having a consistent link between colors and numbers/letters etc. This can be fully visual (seeing aura simmialr to migrains when hearing noises) or internal (imagining bright colors or shape/ number associations to things in your 'minds eye')
Diffrent days of the week having a strong color connection
Alternatively days of the week and calender months having a specific mental layout or 'shape' and days of the week and month having a specific place om this mental map that shifts depending on where you are in time, simmilar to a clock or time table
I'm also curious on how this effects you so you can leave that in the reblogs if your comfortable!
For me personally my synesthesia effects my writing because I'll often mix up letters and numbers ( I write down 4 alot instead of G and vice versa, I also mix up 4 and 7 because they 'look' the same, I'm wondering if this is some sort of dyscalculia though, the same thing happens with A and 8)

There's one super specific reason why i love welcome to night vale so much, and that is my synesthesia.
Synesthesia is a neurological anomaly (?) That makes the person who has it perceive things they see in more than one sense. They can for example see colors when they hear music or think numbers as shapes.
In my case i see colors when i hear different sounds. I also have other things, but they aren't relevant to this.
Cecil's voice happens to be almost exactly the same color as the logo is. It just. Brings me such a great satisfication to see a color that matches the sound. I sometimes just stare at the logo while listening.

I have sexual synesthesia and my brother-in-law has counting synesthesia. I often hear people talk about having it with music, so I’m interested to see if anyone else has an uncommon version.
