forever obsessed with the way hua cheng didnât really intend to enter xie lianâs life. he just wanted to see him. check on him. was pleasantly surprised to have such a nice chat. i get the feeling that he just wanted to make true on the promise he made as a wispââI want to protect them. Luo Binghe pov fics that have him be amused or confounded by his silly shizun are the best actually. I know his rose tinted glasses of affection are basically opaque, but you cannot tell me the silly goofy wackiness that is shen yuan does not peak through and throw binghe off his rhythm at times. Psych things I appreciate:
Henry is as good a detective as his son, they donât usually say it outright but itâs VERY clear that Shawnâs brains donât all come from his momâs side
Also Henry was a very involved parent, usually by himself, for two boys, and one of them wasnât even his
(Seriously, the fact that Gusâs parents never approved of Shawn or respected Gusâs judgement, and yet he WAS able to spend 90% of his waking hours with Shawn, suggests that he got more active parenting from Henry)
Jules is just as intense and weird as Lassie, and I love when theyâre on the same page and/or when sheâs the Scary One
Lassie is dead sure, throughout, that Shawnâs not psychic⌠but he DOES know that Shawn is usually right about stuff. Which means that even though heâs never obligated to say it out loud he knows that Shawn is a good detective and is secretly forced to respect his skills instead of his âgift,â which I greatly enjoy
Shawn 90% of the time: goofy, evades danger like an airbender, is in denial about the need to ever possibly defend himself Shawn when he realizes Gus is in danger, immediately: âSomeone give me a gun!â
Gus and Shawnâs friendship in general is kind of perfect
Not to harp on Henry, but I also love his relationship with Shawn: theyâre really good at conveying the fraught history, but also that these two love each other, are proud of and respect each other, andâas time goes onâthat theyâre learning these things as well and trying to improve
