Ahh who loves you is so cute!!
sorry I’m not familiar with North American sports/colleges - why would someone get a strike for not going to a game, is that really a thing? What does a strike entail?
hiii!!! tysm for the super sweet comment (im sorry this is so late)
so, idk if its just my college, but if you buy tickets and miss a football game they give u a strike (and you can get 3) so you dont waste the ticket since someone else could've gotten it.

summary: a four month long situationship with Ari goes south when you see a text you shouldn't have
pairing: college!hockey player!ari x situationship/fwb!reader
warnings: none?

Fuck. You felt refreshed and blissed out as you sat up and stretched. Watching Ari’s bare, fit body disappear into his bathroom.
It always surprised you how he showers without his phone because that meant he showered with no music. You couldn’t imagine taking a shower without music, how else would you fulfill your popstar dreams. But alas, Ari was different from a lot of the guys you’ve previously been with.
You drop back against his bed, smiling at the ache between your legs. Ari was a lot of things and a sex god was definitely one of them.
The incessant buzzing from a phone..his phone jerks you from your blissed out state.
Bzz-bzz
Ignore.
Bzz-bzz
Ignore.
Bzz-bzz
Okay, what the hell?
You grab his phone beside you, it comes to life when you lift it.
Joy ;)
—Meet you in the parking lot after? My place?
—I’ll wear the special panties with your number on them
You squint as more texts roll in. Special panties? Her place? The fucking winky emoji by her name?
What. The. Fuck.
You stare in disbelief for who knows how long, feeling a little hurt and naive.
“Why is my phone in your hand?”
Ari stands at the end of his bed. A towel wrapped around his hips as he runs another through his shoulder length hair. Your eyes can’t really help to worship the droplets over his chest.
“Who’s Joy?” You push out the question.
You can see something change in Ari as he walks over and takes his phone from your grasp. “None of your business, why are you snooping around”
You scoff, “I wasn’t snooping! It kept buzzing and I thought it was an emergency or something. Who’s Joy?” you question again, annoyed at the way he’s avoiding your question.
“I don’t appreciate you looking through my phone. And she’s none of your fucking buisness, so drop it”
You stare up at him, subconsciously lifting his sheet to cover your bare chest.
“You’re having sex with other people?” you accuse, and deep down you're confident you know the answer, but that naive part of you is hoping it’s all a misunderstanding.
“And if I am? We’re just fucking around too. Are we not?”
Your breath stutters at his admission. Although the two of you have never stated terms of this…relationship, his actions have always spoken louder than words. Everyone thought the two of you were together. Even though he’s never formally asked you to be his girlfriend, you always had an inkling that he would at some point.
Your stomach flips thinking of his protectiveness over you, the way he’d always pay if he was there, and the way he goes out of his way to check up on you after his practices. Or the way you’re always there for him at every game, his number and name on your back as you cheer him on.
Shit, even the sex was anything unlike a pair of friends. It always felt intimate between the two of you. Your toothbrush stood next to his in his bathroom, and yours, for Christ sakes.
“Are you being serious right now?”
Ari shrugs. Fucking shrugs at your question.
“Y/n, I don’t understand why you’re upset. In no way have I ever committed myself to you.”
That stings.
“You really don’t see it, do you?” You mutter, trying to blink away the tears forming in your eyes.
“I don’t.”
“Fuck you, Ari.” You seethe, dressing yourself with speed. “Have fun with Joy.” You tell him, buttoning your jeans, and gathering your shoes in your hand. Anything to get out of this humiliating scenario.
You shove your way past Ari’s confused figure. Which stops you as he grabs your elbow, “I’m not understanding what the big deal is? You’re telling me you haven’t been sleeping around.”
You remove your elbow from his grasp, “No. I haven’t. And if I did, I’d at least have the decency to let you know.” And with that, you’re out of the room.
Ari stands there for at least a minute, disgruntled and confused with what the fuck just happened. He shakes his head trying to figure out whatever the fuck he was missing.
-
“You’re a fucking idiot, a moron if you will. Maybe a dodo would fit better?—” Ransom laughs to himself as relaxes in his spot in the frats living room, snacking on his favorite biscuit cookies.
“Ran,” Steve interrupts the way Ransom isn’t helping. Softly shaking his head in reprimandment. “Now isn’t the time.”
Ransom only shrugs, and looks back to the television.
“I hate to say it, man. But Ransom is right, the only answer was in front of you the whole time.” Sam tosses in his opinion, clapping Ari on the back.
“Well what the fuck is it? Why is no one saying what I’m missing?”
“She likes you, Levinson.” Bucky answers, walking through the living room and out the door, his key to his motorcycle swirling around a finger. He didn’t need to know the full conversation to know what exactly was going on. He would’ve stayed to watch the aftermath, but he had a certain spicy redhead waiting for him at her apartment
Ari doesn’t mean to sound dramatic, but he quite literally feels the world tilt on its axis at the discovery. He’s admired you for a while, but never in his mind did he think he was the right guy for you. He’s seen the guys you’ve dated before and they were the complete opposite.
Intelligent, brainy, in tons of clubs, they wouldn’t do stupid shit like fighting on ice skates because it’s fun. They were guys who any mother would love.
Fuck. He can’t believe this, there’s no way.
“What—“
“Dude, you can’t be so blind, to not see how in love with you she basically is,” Ransom says around a mouth full of cookies. “The sex is probably great, but you think a chick like her is gonna wanna be around you without an ounce of admiration.”
“I think what Ransom is trying to say is: there’s a lot of telling that y/n has feelings for you, and I’m pretty sure her getting offended that you’re sleeping with other people is a big one.” Steve says.
“Fuck.” Ari groans, running his hand down his face and over his scruff.
“How would you feel if y/n told you she was screwing someone else?”  Sam asks.
“Livid.”
Sam snaps his finger pointing at the dark look already on Ari’s face. “There you go.”
“Fuck. She’s not even answering my calls. What the hell am I supposed to do?”
“Give her time to cool. If anything, maybe she’ll be at the game?” Steve offers.
“Maybe,” Ari mutters.
-
But you never picked up a single call and for some reason, even picked up that Ari thought of swinging by your apartment. You had texted him to leave you alone.
And then Saturday rolled around…
-
“How long have you been into hockey? I’d never take you up as a sports girl. Sorry that sounded terrible—“
“It’s okay, Jake.” You laugh. “Not until this year, you’re right I’m not really into sports at all. What about you?”
“I really got into it with my dad, we used to watch every game together if we could,” he smiles at the memories.
“That’s really sweet,” you smile back, placing your hand over his.
Jake Jensen is a computer science major you befriended over your French class last semester. But the both of you basically ran in the same social groups, leading to you guys staying friends.
When talking about the upcoming game, you had let it slip that you passed the deadline to donate your ticket, and couldn’t find anyone to sell it to. Leaving you to go to the game alone or getting a strike.
Jake was kind enough to let you join him. You would’ve joined Natasha and the others, but it felt too weird to you and you wanted no chance running into Ari. Especially since you weren’t wearing his jersey like you usually do.
You haven’t spoken to him all week, minus the small text you sent, and you refused to. Even though he had tried non stop to run into you on campus.
“Have you—“ Jake starts, but is interrupted by the commentators introducing the team. Everyone stood up and cheered at the sight of the school’s players.
-
Ari skates out with a smile on his face, lifting a hand in the air as he waves and joins the line of his teammates. As he does so, he tries to find you, but it’s hard to distinguish you among the wave of people in the stadium. Especially since you weren’t seated in your undesignated-designated seat closer to the rink.
But he shakes it off, putting himself in the right mindset for the game.
-
“Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for our favorite time of the night: THE KISS CAM!”
Some players skate and others like Ari, watch the Jumbotron during the brief break.
The first is an elderly couple, then a pair of random strangers who kiss under the playful pressure, two pairs of students, parents with their children who dramatically gag. That makes everyone chuckle, including himself.
They go around the stadium one last and he cannot fucking believe it. His hand becomes around his stick.
He can feel his teammates staring at him in sympathy. But Ari cannot look away from the Jumbotron.
The first thing he notices is your flustered smile, that you came to the game sans his jersey, and the most noticeable of all is the dork sitting next to you with his arm behind your seat, looking just as bashful.
He’s livid. You’ve been avoiding him all week, probably doing who knows what with this guy.
-
“You know what you gotta do,” teases the commentator. You laugh behind the back of your hand. Jake sits beside you just as flustered, scratching his eyebrow with his thumb.
In no way is he against kissing Y/n, but he also doesn’t want to make her uncomfortable.
“C’mon folks!”
You stare at Jake, shrugging a shoulder in question. Jake only smiles back before sitting up straighter. The both of you go to lean in. Your lips press softly against his until a loud smack of temper glass breaks it up.
The two of you jolt away at the sound of a disgruntled voice. You look to see Ari, “hey!” His voice booms. “Back the fuck off my girl!”
“What— who is he?” Jake’s eyebrows knit together as he points towards the enraged giant pointing a menacing finger towards him.
“An asshole who doesn’t know what he wants.” You answer, shaking your head towards Ari before you place a kiss on Jake’s cheek.
You watch as Ari stands behind the plexiglass. And even though you’re about eight rows back, you can see the confused and upset expression on his face. A pinch in his eyebrows and a pitiful glare in his eyes.
“I’m really sorry about that, Jake.”
“It’s nothing, don't worry.” He smiles, “Do you want popcorn or anything?”
“Sour patch kids, if that’s alright.”
“No problem.”
You look at anywhere but Ari during the rest of the brief intermission.

Ari 🏒🦁
—Meet me outside the locker room
—Please?
You sigh as you grab your stuff. Just before the two of you reach outside the stadium, you gain Jake’s attention.
“I’m really sorry to cut our hangout short, but I had a lot of fun. I just have to handle something really quickly.”
Jake tries not to show the disappointment on his face, “I’m gonna rightfully assume it has something to do with that ‘asshole who doesn’t know what he wants’?”
“Unfortunately,” you smile ruefully.
“Okay,” he nods his head. “I hope everything goes well. I’ll see you around?”
“Definitely,” you hug him before you make your way outside the doors of the locker rooms, with no trouble which you can guess is because of Ari.
You smile awkwardly at the glances of Ari’s teammates. You hate that everyone has seen that happen and you assume most of his teammates know the intimate details of what’s gone down between you two. Which only adds another layer of unnecessary awkwardness. Time passes before you feel a light tap on your shoulder, looking up to see Steve at your side, a timid grin.
“The locker is all cleared out, he’s in there waiting for you.”
“Thanks, Steve.”
-
“Ari?” You walk in to him tying his sweatpants.
He turns around with a mournful look on his face. His sweatpants low enough that you can see the bands of his Calvin’s; he’s shirtless so his six pack is on display and glistening from his shower; his hair is disheveled, but the ends still curl at the ends; and he has a towel thrown over shoulder.
You can ask any women how they could not be hung up on a guy as attractive as him.
“Hey,” he sends a small smile, making his way towards you.
“Wait—“ you interrupt, “We cannot have this conversation if you’re shirtless.”
He won’t argue, but he does as you’ve said and throws on some ratty t shirt in his locker. He sits on the bench in front of his locker, patting the spot next to you.
You sit beside him, making sure to keep some distance between you two.
“I see you’re not wearing your jersey?”
The audacity of men will always surprise you.
“Your jersey and is that really the first thing you want to talk about?”
“You’re right…” warily his hand grabs yours and when he sees you won’t retract from him, he brings it his plush lips. “I’m really sorry, Y/n. Seriously.”
“What you said Sunday was totally uncalled for and spiteful— and where do you get off announcing to practically the whole state that I'm your girl? And You embarrassed poor Jake for nothing.”
“It wasn’t for nothin’ and the douche will be fine.” He staggers at the fire in your eyes. “Sorry, I’m sorry.”
“That seems to be the only thing you can say,” you huff. You turn to him, needing to know the answer to this. “Are you really sleeping with other people?”
He notices how small your voice is as you ask.
He sighs and looks down for a little, before tightening the grasp of your hand. “I was.”
You stand up while trying to get Ari to let go of your hand. The last thing you want is for him to see the tears begging to fall.
Ari stands with you in haste, bringing his other hand to palm your cheek as he looks down at you. Those piercing blue eyes saying so many things at once. “Was. I was. Listen, I haven’t slept with anyone else other than you since last month. It was a moment of weakness and you can’t be mad at me for it. We’ve never made anything official, baby.”
“Do you even care about me? At all.”
It feels vulnerable and desirous, but you’re unsure how you can continue without asking.
“What? Did tonight not show you that?”
You go to argue, but he cuts you off before you can start.
Both his hands cup your face while his thumb draws circles on the apple of your cheekbones.
“I love you.”
Your breath picks up at his admission.
“It’s been months coming, but you gotta know since our first night together I haven’t slept with anyone other than Joy and that was only once. And I didn’t think I could tell you because.. I’m just not the guy you typically go for, Y/n. But I guess that was my own insecurities playing a part of that. I’m rambling and i probably sound like Steve after he takes one hit. But I promise I’ve admired you for so long and it has never been just sex to me. I don’t want my stupid mistake to get in the way of us trying correctly this time.”
You swing your arm over the back of his neck and pull him in a kiss, your other hand fists his shirt.
He lags at first before his brain catches up and he’s kissing you back harder. He tilts his head just a smidge like he always does and one of his hands comes up to cup the back of your head. You feel his other hand cup the side your body. His hand roams up and down before he’s slipping it behind you to squeeze your ass. You moan into him, pressing your body closer to him.
Both your breaths pick up and you know you need a breather. So you pull away in a blur.
“I love you too.”
He smiles at your admission. One of those adorable, rare smiles not many get to see from the broody man.
You smack his arm and he grabs it with a questioning look.
“But I’m still really pissed at you and I’m not letting you off easy.”
“Even if I ask you to be my girlfriend?” He snakes his brawny arms around your waist, pulling you closer as he ducks to kiss your cheek.
“Even then,” you giggle, turning his head for a kiss. “And that’s a yes.”

“And that’s a yes.”

summary: a four month long situationship with Ari goes south when you see a text you shouldn't have
pairing: college!hockey player!ari x situationship/fwb!reader
warnings: none?
-
-
You swing your arm over the back of his neck and pull him in a kiss, your other hand fists his shirt.
He lags at first before his brain catches up and he’s kissing you back harder. He tilts his head just a smidge like he always does and one of his hands comes up to cup the back of your head. the binky garden (the binky fairy pt 2)
summary: part two of the binky fairy. "Steve tries to make it up to y/n but we aren’t letting up so easily and gives the silent treatment bc they were supposed to be a team but doesn’t let up for like a couple hours or until the next day and then just fluff ? Idk if that even makes sense" +
""okay but now we need to see steve grovel and work his ass off to please his wife and get out of the doghouse right? right??????"
in the dad!mafia!steve universe
pairings: dad!mafia!steve rogers x wife!reader
warning: none really

After an hour or so working in his office, Steve heads to bed.
The moment he becomes in close proximity to the bed, his eyes fall on your sleeping figure, and the alarms in his head go off. His wife is facing away from his side of the bed. He noticed the wrinkle between your pinched eyebrows. That’s never a good sign. She went to bed simmering.
Most nights, you and he cuddle face-to-face every night. His palm would spoon the back of your head, as you rested your head on his chest, and their legs tangled together. As long as you were close to each other, you both were happy.
Steve sighs, strips off his shirt and sweatpants. Leaving him in his underwear for the night. He knows his wife in and out, and he couldn’t blame her stubbornness on this. He had fucked up exponentially and all on his own account.
Once he’s set his watch, signet ring, and wedding ring on the matching dish y/n had made years ago. He’s able to relax under the soft duvet, his body is able to finally relax when it hits the luxurious, plush mattress. Then, he’s rolling over to cuddle his girl. He's as close as he can get. With his arm thrown over your waist and his nose pressed against the back of your neck.
“Just because I am allowing you to cuddle with me doesn’t mean I'm no longer upset,” you mumble sleepily.
“What?” Steve utters, propping his body up with his elbow.
“You heard me,” you say sleepily.
“Fine.” Steve replied curtly. He repositions himself, before placing a kiss to your cheek.
“Don’t push it,” you tell him, bringing a hand to push his face back.
Not only does it hurt, but it fucking sucks. He doesn’t enjoy the fact that you’re so upset over this. Not even allowing a pert kiss on the cheek. But he loves you just as much as he respects you.
What he hates most of all is how you wouldn’t look at him as you spoke, let alone open your eyes, as you feigned sleep.
This was going to be one long, tortuous night.
-
The next morning, you wake up alone in bed. Fortunately, you can’t help but think. It gives you the chance to avoid the elephant in the room a bit longer.
You get yourself ready for the day. Your stomach in turns to be honest. You didn’t like fighting with Steve. You absolutely hated it. And unlike most, you could say it didn’t happen often between you two.
Nonetheless, you’re finally ready for the day. You walk down the extravagant staircase in mom jeans, sneakers, and one of Steve’s tee shirts (ironically enough).
Elysia sits in her highchair. Her hair is in bunnies as she shrieks along to the Frozen soundtrack playing from Steve’s phone.
Steve stands in the kitchen, cutting an apple for Elysia.
You walk up to Elysia, hand cupping her cheek.
“Good morning, baby.”
You go to kiss her plump cheek, only to be met with a whine from your little one. Elysia shakes her head, pouts, and crosses her arms over her chest.
“No! Mean mommy. Take away my binky,” she spouts, eyes closed as she looks away.
You stood to your full height, mouth dropped in surprise. Your eyes tie to Steve’s distraught, surprised ones for a millisecond, before you turn back to the pouting (age)
You know your toddler has the dramatics of a soap opera. This wasn’t a small spiff of you having her use the potty in the morning, even though she didn’t want to. She truly was cross with you. In her eyes, you had taken a treasured item from her. This is exactly what you didn’t want to happen.
“Honey, don’t you remember what we talked about? The fairies need them for the smaller babies who don’t have one.”
She keeps her pout, but you watch her resolve begin to break when she finally decides to face you.
“I miss my binky.” she says solemnly, looking up at you with those big eyes. Eyes Steve could never hold out against.
You know exactly what she’s doing, but you won’t fall for it and give in. As much as you want to pinch her cheeks and pop her binky into her mouth, you don’t.
You sigh, “Did I ever tell you about the really nice gifts the binky fairy leaves?”
She shakes her head with wide, eager eyes. Just waiting for you to spit it out!
-
Even though you had slowly broken Elysia’s resolve. The day continued with Elysia being slightly short with you. She didn’t prefer you to hold her, didn’t want you to feed her, and god forbid you try and play with her. She wouldn’t allow it without the promise of getting her binky back. For a two-year-old, she knew exactly how to play her cards.
It wasn't until a few hours later that Elysia toddles to you, her tail between her legs as she apologized. Or tries to, as the three of you have been working on it for a while. You know it’s for sure Steve's doing.
In addition to Elyisa’s newfound attitude grew the tension between you and Steve. He was feeling guilty over the whole thing, and you didn’t feel any amount of remorse in that.
At one point in the afternoon, you roll your eyes walking past the white roses spread about your bedroom. And two purses you’ve been eyeing for a while sitting pretty on your side of the bed. A lovely note attached to them.
Currently, you’ve made your way to the kitchen and are rummaging through the fridge for you cranberry brie bites.
Elysia was down for her nap so this would be the perfect time to go for the kill. Steve shadows over your hunched figure as you look for something in the fridge. His hand caressing your hip as he tried to get your attention.
“Doll” his voice tender as he says your name. There’s a hint of desperation in his voice, you note.
You ignore him, continuing your search for the brie. Naturally, you can’t help the butterflies when Steve’s other hand moves your hair to the side, pressing light kisses to the back of your neck.
“I’m upset with you. Did you forget?” You can continue your search, begging your voice to remain calm.
“What do I have to do to make you not so upset with me?” He strategically lowers his voice in that soft, sultry way. The one that makes you so weak that you end up falling in bed with him every time.
You ignore him again, taking in his roaming hand.
“Hm?” He kisses between your shoulder and neck.
“I don’t know,” you shrug.
“There has to be something. Anything.”
You turn abruptly, “All I know is: I’m still really pissed off and a little hurt. And I’m not being dramatic this time, you let me think I had finally weaned her off her pacifier, just for me to end up being the bad guy because you were sneaking it to her this whole time” you huff. “And you shoving yourself on me is not helping.”
“Shoving myself?” He sounds offended and taken aback at the last part of your vehement.
“Yes.”
Maybe shoving wasn’t the perfect word choice.
“Okay.” He exhales, resting his hands on his hips. “I’ve let you simmer in your anger all day, I’ve given you your space, and I’ve been patient. But now we’re talking it out.”
“And if I don’t want to?,” You tell him, raising an eyebrow in challenge.
But Steve has had it. His fingers gripping your chin gently as he turns your face, “Sit down, Y/n. I’m not asking again.”
You’re taken aback by his gesture, but in a concerningly good way. You concede as you follow him to the main living room. You sit on the couch while Steve makes a point to sit on the center table, his knees brushing yours.
“Why are you upset?” Is the first thing Steve says.
“Oh my god, Steve. Why do you think?”
“Well obviously I understand the reason, I just don’t understand why. It’s just a pacifier, what's the big deal.”
She loves this man with her whole heart, but my god, could he be frustrating at times.
“Right now isn't just about a binky, then it’ll turn to curfews, deciding when she can date, when she can dye her hair— we’re supposed to be a unified front. And I don’t want us to do things behind each other’s backs because we disagree. and letting Lys see that too is another thing. I don’t wanna seem like a bad parent, Steve, and it sucks that you let me celebrate this milestone when you knew it wasn’t true.”
“Baby,” Steve breathes as he grasps your hand and pulls on your arm, tugging you onto his lap. When you’re seated, he caresses the cut of your jaw, kissing the corner of your lips. “I’m sorry. I didn’t see it that way and it wasn’t my intention to hurt you either. I promise it was only supposed to be one time, but it got out of hand when she kept pulling those damn puppy eyes.”
You gently laugh at the last part. “She can be very convincing,” you tell him.
“She can…and I don’t want you to think I don’t respect any of the opinions you have towards Elysia.”
You smile at his admission, “I’m sorry for the way I acted.”
“It’s alright, I understand. And while we’re at it, I don't like you walking around as if i’m not here. I mean, not even a good morning?”
“I’m sorry. I’ll work on it, I promise.” You pull his face to yours. “Do you want a blowie to make up for it?” You mumble against his lips.
Steve smirks at your proposal, dragging a hand down to squeeze your ass, “As long as I get to show you how sorry I am.”
“Deal.” you kiss his lips and before you know it, you’re being thrown back onto the couch. Steve hovers over you, his gold pendant resting against your collarbone. “Steve!” you laugh.
Steve lifts himself up with one arm, while he turns the other to glance at his exorbitant watch, “We have about fifteen minutes until she wakes up from her nap.” Steve informs you, descending to place a peck on your lips before eagerly tugging your jeans down.
-
It’s a bright and sunny day. The three of you are in your backyard, behind the gazebo where your flowers, fruits, and veggies stay.
You and Steve are knelt on either side of Elysia who stands with her bag of binkies clutched in her hands.
“You ready?” You ask her softly, running your hand over her hair.
“Will I get lots of stuff?” She looks up to you.
“Lots and lots of stuff.” You promise.
“Okay..” she’s still unsure about it, but the promise of new things was enough to reel her in.
The three of you begin to shovel a hole big enough for the ziploc bag. When you're done, you all sit back.
“Ready, babydoll?” Steve asks. He smiles when she nods her head.
“I am so proud of you,” you praise your little one, kissing her cheek.
Elysia smiles at the praise and quickly drops the ziploc bag into the hole, “We can cover it.”
So the three of you do just that and then she picks up her watercan to water the spot.
-
The next morning is like christmas. Elysia comes running into your bedroom. The bed is still too high for her, so she stands at the end of the bed, jumping in her spot.
“Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!”
“Lys,” you groan.
“We have to go outside!”
When Elysia’s contagious energy rubs off on you and Steve. The three of you finally make it outside. Pajamas and all. She was eager more than ever to make it outside. None of your voices had even settled before you got out here, voices still gravely and full of sleep.
You and Steve each hold one of Elysia’s hands as you walk to the garden. She babbles on with excitement, trying to get her father to indulge in it too. Her father who trudged along and rubbed the scruff of his beard and eyes every five seconds.
But when Elysia finally sees the flourished part of where her Binkys are planted, her small hands cover her mouth in surprise. She bounces in glee, running towards the patch. Her excited giggles fill the air and her eyes brighten, in awe at every gift.
There’s a variation of sealed lollipops, sealed cake pops, and new fisher-price little people figures. Everything on sticks looks like they were grown from the ground.
“Mommy! Daddy! Look, look, look” she points behind her. “I gots new stuff!”

not ur groupie
Summary: you've been hooking up w/ bucky for a wild, you've tried cutting him out of your life too-- that doesn't work. It's time he knows you don't want to be that way anymore.
Pairing: famous/rockstar!bucky x reader
beta'd by the amazing!! @dumb-bich-disease
-
You’re an idiot,
Such a fucking idiot. You told yourself last time would be the last time. You even told Bucky— who laughed it off, leant down to kiss your cheek then the corner of your mouth, and told you: “Yeah. I’ll see you later, sweet cheeks”, before closing the door to your car, waving you off.
Now it’s the middle of the night. The weight on your hip and the quiet snores behind you are painstakingly obvious of your mistake. Of what an idiot you are.
All he had to send was an “I’m in town. coming to the show?” And here you were, running after him like a desperate puppy.
You were not supposed to be here. In a suite, in bed with some Rockstar douchebag. A hot douchebag at least. You blindly reach for your phone, you're sure you put on the nightstand. You move softly, making sure not to move too much. It’s dim in the room, so when your fingers finally reach the phone and the yellow tinted screen lights up your face.
You squint when the time flashes back, only two am, and past messages from Steve about plans for tomorrow since he’ll still be in town.
You met Bucky through your friend, Steve, but you never intended for it to get this way between Bucky and you. But he was a ladies man and definitely used that plus his luring looks to his advantage; Dazzling blue eyes that pierced through you like a knife, tattoos that drowned his body perfectly, a lip ring that always added a gentle shock to kisses, and jet black hair that dropped just at his earlobes. Shit
So, yeah, sometimes you'd meet with Bucky this way and other times he’d fly you out to wherever the hell he was. It was nothing exclusive and you made sure Steve knew it too.
This is insane. You need to leave. It’s late, and you were never supposed to stay over anyway. You had your phone and it was time to finally put whatever the hell this was to rest. Finally.
The arm settled around your torso while the same hand cupped your breast anchored you to the bed. A puff of air from soft lips touching the back of your neck also anchored you to the bed. The morning wood he was sporting, causing a throb between your legs was also reeling you into his submission. You’ve never had this problem with any other hookup in your life. It was always a bang and hang type situation.
You could do it, you could do it, you could do it.
You’re shift out of bed slowly. Keeping both ears out, to make sure his breathing was still the same. You tiptoe around the hotel room. Snatching your panties from the floor, before pulling them on (god you wish you could punch yourself for picking out his favorite blush pink lace ones.)
“Wore this just for me? I didn’t even have to ask you to, huh, beautiful?"
A shiver runs through your body when his words run through your mind and the sick smirk he also sported.
Your leather skirt is next, then the matching pink bra, and you pull over the white top.
Shoes, shoes, shoes. You’re standing by the foot of the bed, looking around the room for your sneakers. They were literally nowhere to be found. They can’t be in the bathroom because duh, and as you pitter through the room you pass by a round mirror hung on the wall. Gawking at how crazy you look, as you continue on you see your jacket (Bucky’s jacket, you’ve had since the first tango.) It seems the probability of you leaving with shoes is only decreasing, so you decide to book it.
This was fun while it lasted. The out-of-this-world sex, the great gifts, hiding from paparazzi and fans, and cute ‘dates’ were fun. He’s likely to have been ghosted by women many times, what's one more. So you decide to book it, and get the hell out of whatever crazy dance the two of you were doing. You’d only have to see him around Steven anyway.
The rustling of sheets stops your fingers from twisting the doorknob, “The fuck are you going, sunshine?”
That deep, raspy, sleepy voice causes such great turmoil in your stomach, he’s let loose a bunch of butterflies at the bottom of your stomach and doesn’t even know it. He’s sat, the satin sheets in a pool at his waist so his torso and tattoos are exposed in the cool air. His hair is messed up cutely, before he takes a hair tie (your hair tie) from his wrist to tie it in a low, sprouting ponytail.
“Uhhh?” you turn around, bringing your coat in both of your hands.
“Why do you have your clothes on? Get back in bed” he flops back into bed, an arm laid out where you were supposed to be. An invitation.
“I’m gonna head out, It’s late…so I should head out”
“You leavin’” he sits up again. He's tired and just wants to go back to sleep, he definitely wouldn’t mind a round or two with you before he does so.
“That’s what I just said” you remark, your arms fold over in front of your chest.
He laughs that cool, breathy laugh, it’s so arrogant and it makes you want to stab him with one of Steve’s drumsticks. “Y/n. Get the fuck back in bed.”
“You can’t just boss me around, Bucky, I’m not one of your groupies”
His smile fades away and his tongue pokes through his chin in thought. You and that fucking word.
“Didn’t mind last night,” he says smugly, his eyes glinting mischievously.
Your cheeks grow hot and you can’t even look at him right now. Him and that fucking card. You love the dynamic you have in bed, it was something you’ve only done and something you’ll only do did with him.
“That’s different!” you huff. “I’m not your groupie and--”
“Stop saying that fucking word, Christ, y/n-- it’s early, can you please for the love of god get back in bed.”
“I’m not some toy Bucky”
“Did I ever say you were? You picked up the phone, didn’t you? Got in the uber with me right after the show, right? Hell, you even tipped the guy right? I’m not forcing you to be here.”
Your gaze hangs onto his words and before you know it you're turning away without a response, holding onto your jacket tighter, as you make your way to the hotel door. You’d be walking out barefoot, but it was better than having to stay in this suffocating room any longer. He was suffocating, the lingering smell of his cologne and sex was suffocating, even the round marks on your neck were suffocating.
This was the last time.
You swing the door open, just to have it smacked close. A tatted wrist connected to a bare, slender hand, lay in your vision.
His face leans down towards your steaming face, “Am I missing something here? Why are you leaving?”
You turn your head to the left, faces only a breath away. “I have an early shift tomorrow, so I need to go.” your voice level, but quiet.
“You're lying”
“Wha--”
“Yesterday you told Steve you took the weekend off, to spend time with him”
You were stunned into silence, not really sure how to counter that.
“I-- thought that everything was going well” his fingers pinch his nose bridge, as closed in thought, before they open. “So how about we talk about whatever is bothering you like mature adults, cause you sure as hell not walking out in the middle of the night.” He tells you this calmly, yet firmly. There was no way he’d let you out of his sight in the middle of night. Who knows what creeps were loitering just outside this door.
Your whole body turns to him, and you try to push down the pitter-patter of your heart at the small act of kindness. It doesn’t show he cares, any guy would’ve done that...as if.
You brace yourself, keeping eye contact, “I don’t wanna keep going like this, I don’t want just sex, I don’t want to be just sex to you” I don't want to keep wanting something that doesn’t want me back.
He lets your words sit on his tongue for a few seconds, “And how do you know they don’t reciprocate what you’re feeling?”
How’s that for mature adults?
“Because they’ve said so. Time and time again “
You’ve seen the interviews, the question that always raises the ratings
‘Do you have a girlfriend?’
‘Do you think about settling down? Being away from the spotlight for a bit? Is that even something you’re interested in?’
The one the both of you dreaded the most. While he's sat in front a grainy picture of you both walking on the sidewalk. In the middle of a kiss, he raised his hat to hide your lips locking, after noticing the dickhead hiding in the bushes.
And every time he said the same answer, of course you understood he couldn’t pour his whole heart in an interview but you weren’t stupid enough to recognize when his answers were his.
‘Nah, it’s not something I’m into right now’
‘I wouldn’t mind living off this high for the rest of my life’
‘That’s no one’ always laughing off accusatory picture after picture.
At your admission he lowers his face so he’s eye leveled to you. The tips of your noses touch and your mouths are only a breath apart. The softness in his eyes takes you by surprise.
“You should know by now that they would do anything for you. I’m barely in one spot and there’s always going to be people trying to pierce in. They don’t want to jeopardize what we have. And I love you so much” his voice is raspy, drizzled with the sweetest honey, and his eyes flicker to yours.
You don’t even know what to say, he loves you? There was no universe where you thought you’d hear the man standing in front of you say those words.
If y/n had opened her eyes maybe she would’ve noticed the disappearance of random girls waiting backstage for Bucky, like he used to before they started hooking up. Girls in short skirts, crop tops, and piercings like him just waiting to get to his hotel room where the actual fun would begin.
Maybe you should've noticed how gradually your quick hookups became Bucky asking you to stay over, or the cuddling you’d both indulge in as his tattooed hand trailed random patterns along your back.
“I--”
He doesn’t let you finish as panic washes over his eyes.
“I love you. And it’s probably not what you meant just right now, but I’ve never done this before and I don't wanna--”
He hears the sound of your stuff touching the ground before he reales a grunt as you launch yourself at him, arms winding around his torso. He’s confused, but he’d be an idiot not to hug you back.
You pull your head from his bare chest and smile up at him, “I love you too”
“I have a massive urge to kiss you right now” he responds.
“You’ve never asked before?” you laugh.
“Isn’t that what boyfriends do?”
And you kiss. A kiss so different from the sex and the accidental kisses where your eyes would stare into eachother longingly, thinking the same thoughts of ‘what if’. You feel his palms wrap around your body, his thumb caressing the side of your breast, as he pulls you tightly into his body.
While he thinks of all the ways he can flaunt this new title and what it really means. His song rings through your head:
‘Neither of us planned it/ And for a long time I took it all for granted’
‘I had all my motives/I didn't know they wouldn't mix with your emotions
‘Used to stick together
You're my best friend, I'll love you forever/It doesn't matter if we're never rich or famous’
His soft voice mingles with the kiss and it makes the butterflies in your stomach grow. He still thinks you didn’t know the song was about you– Steve and his loose lips.

-

-

“Even then,” you giggle, turning his head for a kiss. “And that’s a yes.”

pairing: college!hockey player!ari x situationship/fwb!reader
warnings: none?

-

“And that’s a yes.”

summary: a four month long situationship with Ari goes south when you see a text you shouldn't have
pairing: college!hockey player!ari x situationship/fwb!reader
warnings: none?
-
-
