reporting back to say: i moved in with my girlfriend.
when i wrote this, we hadn鈥檛 even met yet.
when i wrote this, i was accepting a love that wasn鈥檛 enough - but i thought i needed.
when i wrote this, i didn't feel like i had much of a future to look forward to. it's reality now. it happens faster & easier than you expect. keep supporting your healing parts & stick with the little dreams.
someday we鈥檒l sign the lease on an apartment together and we鈥檒l slide around the empty hardwood floors and eat take out until we move our stuff in and we get to set up our life together

it took me a very, very long time to realize love isn鈥檛 supposed to hurt. when all we鈥檝e ever known is discomfort, the signals get mixed up. just because we鈥檙e used to it doesn鈥檛 mean right. it shouldn鈥檛 grate or chafe or grind you down. it shouldn鈥檛 be heavy. this is supposed to be easy.

when you don't have the options to change your circumstances, endurance is still a triumph. familiarity dulls the edge. when it's all too much i tell myself "i'm learning to live with it" until i believe it. buckle down, just get through it, you have the rest of your life on the other side

you're not stuck. your roots have grown too big for your pot & you're just waiting to be repotted

in between stages don't look like the final product. so what if you're like dough, basking in warmth, still rising. so what if you took your time sorting out the pieces before assembly. so what if you're still in progress?

it's really cool actually that we're always changing. we never run out of room to grow.

we get to choose. that's the beautiful core at the center of all of this. every step of the way there's choice. you're telling your story. keep digging.

do what you can to make this all worth it - buy a loaf of fresh bread just to smell it, take out a book you've never heard of from the library just so you have a reason to go back, put a plant in your bedroom to remind you this is survivable. don't forget you're still alive.

home is not a place, its a feeling. i know you've been searching for a long time but it never left you, not really. when the storm dies down there will be room to feel safe again, lit from within

you are more than the hits you take & the ground you grew from. if all you can see are the pieces left behind, trust you are carrying the rest on your back. you're going to make it.
