The person who reached out to me in question provided a lot of screenshots of their interaction with this account, a few of which I’ll provide here:

After already sending $100 to this account, the user was delayed more than an entire day waiting for the session they paid for. When the “tist” was finally ready, they were told they’d need to pay an additional 50. In case it isn’t clear, this person was being scammed

(I’ve also confirmed the user did, in fact, send this account $100, they sent receipts of the transaction)

I’ve tried reaching out to this account in question for a comment, however the moment I brought up the incident they ghosted me.

Obviously put this user on blast if possible, make sure everyone knows to avoid entirely.

Additionally, I just want to provide some tips to help people avoid being scammed in the future:

1. Check for a positive history. If someone’s charging for sessions, they should probably have examples of their work posted on their page you can check out to see of they’re a good fit for you. It’s a red flag if they don’t (you’d never commission an artist without knowing their style)

2. Check for references. If they’re charging and good, there should be people online talking about them. Check to see what the buzz is, should give you a good indication what’s up

3. Ask for identity verification. If they seem to be showing photos of themselves & want to show you how they look, make sure they’re not a catfish by asking “can I ask for a specific pic just to make sure you’re legit?” Then make it something suuper specific. For example: ask for a photo of them doing a peace sign pressed against their forehead while looking off to their left. If they refuse, that’s a red flag (if they just don’t show themselves that’s fine, but if they specifically do like this person claims, then verification will save ya)

Remember, there’s no shame in paying for sessions, we as tists put effort into our craft and deserve to be paid for it, but there’s also no shame in wanting to be protective of your wallet & making sure you don’t get scammed
