…hiya

it’s been a while! a very long time in fact! i wasn’t rlly planning on coming back, but i do get the occasional notification that someone has liked a post, which then reminds me of this blog, which then gets me thinking about it.

so here i am!

what’s changed since i last posted? quite a bit. a bit too much to get into in one post, BUT i can give you the tldr;

i’m in my fourth year of undergrad, (second semester!) and basically chilling for the most part. got a couple of classes that take some more effort, but i like them. have my senior recital this semester (scary!!) but i’m feeling really prepared actually and overall pretty excited for it. i’m still an RA, so i always have that hanging over my head, which like, is a bad way of thinking about it, but, you know.

anywho, just thought i’d give you an update on me! overall i’m happy and having a good time in life, so i call that a win. i hope you feel the same.

been doing a lot of crying lately. i feel like i dont really have any friends anymore. every time i ask my close friends to eat with me, they either already have plans, or in the words of one of them "i just didn't want to go." obviously, that is a very valid reason for not wanting to do something, but when it's said in such a way, you can't help but think it's something to do with you. i've found myself thinking that maybe they talk about me behind my back, saying that they don't like hanging out with me anymore, or that it's annoying how often i ask. but im the ONLY one that asks to eat with them anymore, and at this point, i'm about to give up. it makes me realize how few friends i really have. so, because i havent been hanging out with them, i've been walking around campus during sunset, trying to enjoy time with myself. it makes me realize how lonely i can easily get.

anyway, in other news, the semester started today. i'm taking more credits than last semester, but i'm not feeling too worried. had my audition for my ensemble class as well today, and i AM a little nervous about that. we shall see the results hopefully sooner rather than later. i'm looking forward to my linguistic classes, and also my music theory class. hoping to be on top of my work this semester in a way that allows me more freedom during the weekends and what not.

hi hi! how are you? i’ve been doing well, making that $$$ at work you know >:) i’ve been really enjoying my time at work with my coworkers too! a lot of people speak spanish here so i am trying to speak a little here and there which has been really fun! one of my coworkers said i’ve already gotten better :D

i started my summer class! it’s… a lot 😵‍💫 the professor had us write a short paper two days after the class started, and then had us write another two days after that one. i got it done, but lowkey by the skin of my teeth, since i’ve been working so much during the day and evening. but now i have study photos that i can post!

my one and only beloved, taking a cat nap <3

my study spot last week, was very pretty, though also hot lol

drives home are always pretty🌅

when i get home i’m always hungry so i make myself ramen, and the hard boiled egg was *chef’s kiss*

happy end of june! this month went by so fast, and it’s hard to think that i only have one more month here at home😭😭 ah well, c’est la vie, im sure once i’m back at school i’ll be fine

work has been good! can confidently say i know how to bartend, and will be the official drink maker when with friends>:)

my summer class starts in a little over a week, and im excited to start it! hopefully i don’t overdo it with work and class hehe:,)

hello hello! summer has been lovely ! i’ve been working a lot as a bartender and it’s been so fun!! when i’m not at work i’m just hanging out at home, practicing, reading, etc. i’ve been really enjoying my time!

my summer class starts next month, and i also leave for school at the end of next month :( i’m a little sad, just cause my summer always feels so short. but i think this semester will be good, so i’m trying to have a positive mindset about it.

i went on a walk with my parents, and our cat decided to follow us for a little! he’s so cute <3

living up north, the sun stays up for a lot longer, so drives home are so nice

went to dinner out on the docks and watched the float planes take off! it was neat :D

happy june and happy pride!!!!! cant believe it’s already june and with that, summer!! i’ve been taking the week i’ve been at home to show my boyfriend around, as well as take it easy before i start working on monday. it’s been very nice and i’ve been enjoying myself a lot :)

i ended the semester well! i was a little stressed about the move out process, but we got it done ! i’m not able to enjoy my time at home in alaska, without the stress of being an RA, or taking classes.

EXCEPT, i am taking one summer class, in order to finish up my upper general ed classes. it’s anthropology, and called the reconstruction of lost civilizations, which i thought sounded pretty neat, so here we are! i’ll be sure to update here how that’s going.

i honestly can’t remember where this window photo was taken, but it’s so pretty hehe

kirby charm!!! it’s supposed to go on my phone but i decided to put it with my kirby tote bag. sleepy kirby is so cute 🥺

took my boyfriend out to a waterfall on a hike we went on, and it was very pretty. waterfalls are some of my favorite natural occurrences <3

a chai that i got a long time ago, but still wanted to show off. i’m always going to be a chai/matcha person versus a coffee person.

long time no post :D sorry i’ve been MIA, i guess it’s just been a mix of busy and no motivation? i’ve lowkey been trying to limit how much i’m on social media, but so long as i have instagram i don’t think it’ll ever be very limited lol. so i’m back!

it’s finals season at my university! i’m not really worried at all about any classes, and the finals that i’ve taken already have gone very well. i got full marks on my linguistics final, which i was very happy with, and i’m ending my jazz history class with an A+! the academic in me is very happy hehe

i have my music juries on monday, and i’m doing two, one on saxophone and one on flute. i’m not worried about those because i did a recital this semester, so i’ve technically already passed my jury, if that makes sense. i’m just doing this for more notes and assessment to make me better. i’m definitely ready to get it over with though.

i head home next weekend, and to say i’m excited is an understatement. so ready to just be home and not here lol.

hello! ive been mia lol, but it's been really busy! my recital is this saturday and im a little nervous, im not going to lie. I WILL SAY though, that i feel way more prepared then i did last semester, and so i'm very thankful for that.

i had a productive weekend!

finished music history research paper (2000/2000 words HAHA)

finished jazz research paper too! that one was a lot easier

rehearsal with pianist, feeling good!

bought my dress for my recital!

had a REALLY good flute lesson, hoping i can keep up the momentum!

i got so much done this weekend that i've lowkey been chilling in classes, though i do have some stuff i need to get done this weekend too!

anyway, yeah that's basically it :)

ive been playing switch more as de-stresser and ALSO as a way to prepare for tears of the kingdom (IM SO EXCITED)

i went home for spring break and took this photo, i thought it was neat!

i go to starbucks in the mornings i dont have class to take notes and catch up on busy work mainly, so this is what my set up always looks like

went out with my other flutists in the wind ensemble for a social sectional, and had this gorgeous chai. my friend got a pretty latte :)

hiya!! happy april! i feel like spring is finally coming and im looking forward to it! it's supposed to be hot this weekend, which is ehhhh but it means i can wear different clothes which is exciting. im back in school after a very relaxing spring break, and i'm very thankful that i was able to go back home for the week and just spend my time not doing anything haha. i finished THREE books over the course of the week, and it felt so good to just lay around and read for hours. also got some errands done while i was home, so it's nice to not have to worry about those at all.

i did well on my midterms i had! specifically my linguistics midterm, i got a 30/30 on it! its nice to feel like i am good at a subject lol, like i am in the right major, if that makes sense.

music is also going well, i feel prepared for my recital. now its just making sure that everything is good logistics wise way in advance, so that i'm not worrying about it the night before. im going to get some headshots taken of me so i can make a poster and have that up by the weekend hehe.

the light through my window looked pretty, especially with my curtains diffusing it a little bit. thankful for the longer days that are coming!!

the clouds are just sooo pretty, and i have so many lovely photos of them.

this was me studying for my linguistics midterm. our professor hands out packets of all that we're learning, so i basically just reviewed those and compared them to the study guide she gave us. i think it was effective!

hi everyone! hope you’re having a good spring so far! i’m back home for my spring break and have been thoroughly enjoying it so far. my days have consisted of making myself breakfast, playing my switch, and making dinner with my mom while drinking wine. i always enjoy my time back home.

needless to say, i still have work to do!! i gotta write my program notes for my recital coming up, and i need to start on writing my resume and CV for my pedagogy class. it’s hard to get into that academic mindset when i’m only home for break, but they are assignments that have to get done!!

i’m also going to go to our local library today and find a book that i can read. i can read on my iPad ofcourse, but i really want to hold a book.

helloooo, how are you all? im doing better than i was earlier this week. we had a performance on wednesday, and i lowkey botched it, which i was very upset with myself about it. but!! tonight we get a second chance as we're performing the same pieces tonight. i know i can do better, so i'm going to try and prove it tonight.

other than that, classes have been good! i have two midterms this week, in music history and linguistics, which i'm not too worried about. then it's spring break!! im going home for the break, so i'm very excited for that. need some recuperation before the end of this semester happens.

i also have my junior recital coming up, which im feeling more and more prepared for every day! im proud of myself for getting to this level of preparedness. now i just need to make sure i'm good with piano. there's ONE piece im worried about because i haven't looked at it in a while, and it's not just piano and flute, but piano SAXOPHONE and flute. hopefully me and the saxophonist are able to prepare it well.

i made one of those tiktok pasta dishes with my boyfriend, and it was SO GOOD. makes me wish i had a kitchen 24/7 :(

the sky was pretty again, so obvi i had to take a photo :D there will be a lot of sky photos in upcoming posts

finally put pins on my tote bag!! so cute, and i feel so proud showing them off.

hung out with my good friend, went to a pop up art mart, and then went and got DELICIOUS vietnamese food after. it was so good🤤🤤

hi hello! hope you're all doing well :) life has been good! ive been seeing my friends a lot, and also getting work done in a timely manner, though i will see that i'm a little behind on readings today, so i'm going to work on them tonight :D

i had a conversation with my parents this weekend, as i usually do, and one of the topics that came up was how i felt like i was maybe more interested in pursuing the linguistics path more than the music performance path (im a double major hehe) and that i felt scared because of how much music has been a part of my life. i sometimes feel like im doing all this for nothing. but my mom said something really important to me, and that is that everything is happening for a reason. i had to take this path in order to get to where i am now. if i had pursued any other university or any other major, maybe i wouldn't have even found linguistics. i agree with her too, and so im going to work more on being grateful for where i am, and being excited for the future, regardless of where it takes me!

my boyfriend won this kirby at a round one!!! its literally running its so CUTE literally im dying

made myself matcha, and i got this hand cloth in Japan!! it's so cute i carry it around everywhere, i love it

im trying to use this ordinary AHA BHA exfoliating mask more, since ive had it for so long. i'm trying to take time on the weekend for myself by using this and cleaning up and also doing other self care things.

was studying when my bereal went off and i thought id take a screenshot of it, but it doesn't really show up here :/ oh well!

hiya! the weather has been so dreary still, but that just makes the sunny days more appreciated :) classes have been going well, though i’m a little stressed about my wind ensemble class… we have a concert next week and our director is not happy with how we’ve been playing lol, so i’m worried about how we’re gonna perform. but it’ll be good!!! hoping that we get our act together and can pull through. other classes are going well though! getting full marks in my assignments hehe. just yesterday we had a quiz in my linguistics class, and i got a 100% on it! she graded it right there lol, i haven’t seen someone do that in forever.

i’ve been staying off my phone more, and I don’t know if that is resulting in me dreaming like crazy or what, but it feels like every night i’ve been remembering my dreams, and there’s SO MANY of them in one night, it’s so bizarre. I don’t know how i feel about it because they’re not like, amazing dreams. they’re just kind of weird/freaky sometimes. might have to dive deep into google searches to find out what’s going on.

anywho, it’s basically the weekend for me now! i only have one class on thursdays, and it’s pretty straightforward. i don’t have a flute lesson tomorrow, (my teacher is in Paris with her symphony) and so i’m going to spend that time getting even better on my instrument! saxophone has also been a lot of fun, and i think i’m doing really well for just getting back into it :)

i got this fortune from panda express, and it was too good to not keep. it’s also a good affirmation/manifestation to say to myself i think <3

like i said, the sky has been so pretty!! the clouds are my favorite part, so i always take lots of photos of them. it’s like a fingerprint, no picture of clouds is every the same heheh

been practicing these techniques for warmups every day, and i really enjoy them! it helps me focus on moving my fingers at the same time, and also continually use my air through the exercise.

i’ve started journaling again, and i only really do it when i feel like it. for example, i only wrote a half page this morning, but i think i’ll finish the page tonight talking about the rest of my day. i’m just going with flow when it comes to writing, which i think is better for me!
