just like the weather my mood has been a little up and down but some highlights lately include going to the beach when the suns warm and waking up in a cozy warm bed when it’s raining outside 🌞

There are some things about myself I can't explain to anyone. There are some things I don't understand at all. I can’t tell what I think about things or what I'm after. I don't know what my strengths are or what I'm supposed to do about them. But if I start thinking about these things in too much detail the whole thing gets scary. And if I get scared I can only think about myself. I become really self- centered, and without meaning to, I hurt people. So I'm not such a wonderful human being.

been on spring break! admittedly i struggle with just allowing myself to rest. it’s like yeah i can relax and recharge but also im not going on a vacation or trip like some friends which kinda sucks…and then on the other hand im like well there’s so much time to get ahead / be productive about my research projects! But I can’t find the energy to do that either LOL

I definitely spend a lot of time thinking about things I could do rather than just doing them,,,

yesterday we finished neuroscience block AND our 6 month long anatomy course 😭 I remember our first day of anatomy orientation when the professor was (half jokingly) saying that we’re gonna have to tell friends and family we’re too busy for the next 6 months…he was so right LOL it’s amazing being on the other end of that course

I SAW MY FIRST PATIENT ALONE TODay i think it was one of those days in my career training ill never forget

It’s so easy to get lost in the studying but seeing patients and making connections brings everything back into perspective 🥹

i really don’t be studying much lately LOL I’ve been putting a lot of my time into research and projects on the side but i like those a lot. I’m starting early clinical experiences on Monday (in dermatology!!) and im nervous I haven’t seen patients in a while I might be out of practice 😭

in the meantime been doing cozy things like making these little treats with friends

it’s been raining sO much this last week :0 sleep has been so good tho bc of the rain sounds hehe. things are getting busy but I’m feeling good about how I manage my time lately, I’m starting to appreciate how much time there is in a day and how to focus up when doing something so I do it meaningfully and don’t waste time

it’s literally been MONTHS since I last posted LOL I’m so sorry med school is actually a blur 😳 I finished the first half of my first year! time is flying but I couldn’t be more excited. everyday it’s like wow I can’t believe I’m actually doing this. sometimes it’s really hard and I get really stressed out, but then I remind myself that only 114 people in the entire WORLD get to do exactly what I do

A part of being an adult is living with regret and not allowing it to consume you. The older you get, the more mistakes you’ve made, opportunities you’ve missed, people you’ve disappointed. And every day you have to remind yourself to be kind and forgiving of yourself. You accept and love the you from the past and understand that it’s all a part of the process. Then you move on and live your best life, knowing now as old as you feel today, you’ll never be this young again.
