3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
This is such a hard question, so I'm gonna cheat a little bit and talk about other ones I'm super super proud of in the other answers. And to narrow it down a bit for this ask, I'll list my favourite fic from this year's Xtober haul: Unravelling. One of the creepiest things I've ever written, going by the comments, but holy shit it was fun.
6. Favorite title you used
I'll See You In Hell. This was one of those fics where I have the title before I think of the fic itself. I was really struggling to come up with a fic to write for the exchange based on the prompts I received, then @starr234 reminded me about the SW audio dramas and I was listening to them, and suddenly it all clicked. Especially the hell metaphors and having Han as a narrator, which really made the fic for me :D
10. What work was the quickest to write?
That's got to be One Must Dance. I wrote all 6k in a feverish two hours back in January and I'm still very happy with the result.
But shoutout to The Protégé as well - Act I took me a month and a half to write, but Acts II through V were written in a month and half altogether. I was averaging 4k per day in July, which was shocking.
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
I genuinely can't remember I'm very sorry. I always go "oooh that's a banger" when I write it, then the fic itself supersedes it in my memory once it's posted. But honorary mention to this passage from The Family Business that, again, gave the fic its title:
"I am going to talk to our brother," Owen informed him. "And if I can, I'm gonna bring him home."
"He will not come. Trying to find a shred of humanity in him, any sense of familial loyalty or love…" He cut himself off and shook his head. "It would be like trying to dig for water in the desert."
"Finding water in the desert is the family business, Ben." Owen allowed himself a wry smirk. "But if you're digging in the sand for it, you're looking in the wrong place."
"That's not what I meant by that metaphor, and you know it!"
