I’m not even remotely happy with the watercolor, but I was pretty ok with my line work before I tried to color it. Typical, right? TO BE FAIR I haven’t watercolored since I was 10 sooo. It was definitely a challenge. I think I’ll stick to oils and acrylics.
This is the scene where Jughead is informed he can no longer stay with The Andrews and will need to live with a foster family. I think this is one of the lesser talked about moments that really shows Jug’s character.Â
He says “That doesn’t sound completely horrible…” But he’s not saying it for himself. He thinks it will be terrible. He’s heart broken he’s being taken from the first safe place he’s had in a long time. That sentence was for Fred and Archie, to placate them, to counterfeitly reassure them he’s fine with this.
Are people seriously going to argue that bughead shouldn’t be endgame after seeing Jughead make Betty smile in a time when literally no one else could??
