sketch + layer breakdown for [this post]
if it isn鈥檛 obvious with this,聽I鈥檓 not the kind to work with just one layer for lines, 聽one layer for colors and one layer for values. I use a copious amount of lasso > cut/copy > move to chop characters up into parts and to shift them around minutely.
My process most resembles that of a collage artist, in which I will draw each separate limb or section > fill the flat colors > merge, then draw the overlapping part above or under it > fill the flat colors > merge.
This is mainly because I just tend to miss the forest for the trees and I鈥檓 not good at keeping track of the overall image composition, so my process allows me to zoom right into the problem sections- to completely delete and redraw it if needed (which I did with JC鈥檚 hand) without affecting the overall image.

Step 1 - rough sketch + color blocking
Step 2 - sketching > flat colors > patterning > multiply
Step 3 - merge layers for line, colors and shading and add details / tweak anatomy
The last gif is simply the layer breakdown for the file, starting from the layer at the bottom and turning on each layer above it to the top

crackship or not, qijiu is still more of an answer as opposed to "yqy is a cuck/ntr so it's always yqy x unhappiness 24/7" so (not that i can't see or disagree with it but) THANK YOU. but also -- i have to ask, do you regularly peruse the svsss ao3 tag?? or mayb on lofter (i can't read, but i will try sddkjj)? if so, you got any qijiu fic recs? or at least given the nature of the entire book, any other "crackships but not rlly" ships you got for sv?
aww man.... I get NOTPs but I don't get being hateful to a character just because they break up your OTP or preferred ships. YQY is a complex and pretty compelling guy imo, he just had the misfortune of being cast as a love rival to Binghe in the crackfic chick flick that is SVSSS.
As for your second q- I don't browse series tags because of the high chance I'd get NOTP-whammied, I browse pairing tags and usually only for my OTP and not sidepairs. My preferred pair for SVSSS is actually BingLiu (I like their spiciness) but I haven't browsed their tag in ages.
Mainly because that specific itch I had for ScumV stuff is now being scratched by 2Ha haha. (there's some weird connection between the giggles BingLiu gives me and the giggles TXJ+Mo Ran/CWN gives me- I don't know how to explain it) I don't really have any recs for 2Ha tbh because...a) there isn't really much fics that get into the juicier 2Ha stuff that tickle my brain b) 2Ha is just so good that its hard to achieve that same level of immersion in fics :(

I kinda like QiJiu? Because they鈥檙e kinda like a parody pair of Xiyao (or prototype to be more accurate lol) where MXTX took their worst traits (LXC鈥檚 Lan tendency to be a simp and JGY鈥檚 deep hidden core of bitter resentment) and made it their entire personality, to the point where they鈥檙e more of a hilarious on-again off-again trainwreck reality show couple rather than an extreme angst, mostly pain and a few fleeting moments of sweetness pair.

Regarding the ZhenYi / YiZhen question, their ship is based on their romantic stories that they read (Romantic boys together making mischief to play cupid with their ships), and their "fanon" crush for Sizhui's dads.
If you can/want to draw them... I would appreciate it. There really aren't much of them together, but it's a fluff ship that just makes you laugh always 馃挅
....sorry...but I don't do requests. They're not a pairing that interests me either.

JL, OZ and LGY are going to be leaders, and they won't be able to spend much time together. At least if Sizhui marries one of them he will be able to stand by his side and be the kind and diplomatic part that a sect needs (Ah, it looks like a cheap fanfic plot).
He is a good boy. The others are very explosive. Hahaha
No... LSZ is not the kind of man to become a Madam imo? He may be soft-spoken but he's also strong-willed. I'll just copypaste my curiouscat response:
Jin Ling and Lan Jingyi would both become the Jin and Lan Sect Leaders. Due to the more treacherous pathway that Jin Ling has to tread in order to solidify his position, whilst he's younger than both LSZ and LJY, he eventually takes on a no nonsense Sect Leader persona like JC and is far more sensitive to political subterfuge / assassination attempts though he balances the paranoia and diplomacy better than his Jiujiu.
LSZ eventually embraces his heritage as a Wen and with the backing of the Lan clan, slowly begins to piece his clan back together. He never drops his surname, but in certain circles is known as "Wen Gongzi" who has a reputation in the cultivation world for being a refuge for any Wen survivors. (He may or may not follow in his Wen Qing-gugu's footsteps and also starts to learn the healing arts).
Though LJY inherits the role of Lan Sect Leader 20 years after Jin Ling becomes Sect Leader Jin, he spends most of that "interning" under LXC. He's not oblivious to navigating the political side of the cultivation world, he's just uninterested in it for the most part. If I have to compare, he'll be similar to NHS in the sense that they both are actually exceedingly intelligent but project an irresponsible / lazy front in order to avoid headaches- and well he's less jaded and cynical than NHS, more honest with his help or his reluctance.
Ouyang Zizhen is the most "amorphous" for me, because aside from his outspokenness- I don't really have a feel for his clan dynamics or how that'd change him? Probably he also becomes a decent Sect Leader in his own right- settling down with a wife and kid as the most well-adjusted member of the Junior Gang. Or he'd just be a travelling diplomat / orator Sect Leader, helping the rest of the Juniors to smooth things over??? I don't really have a firm characterisation for him tbh lol.
Also my dude, not everyone shares the same OTPs. That's just life. I get that I'm kinda stressing you out because I'm diverging from your OTP but you gotta learn to manage that.
