Shadow is the "Have shit pointed out to you in-session and then have the important revelations yourself outside of session" client, Amy is the "Work through things fully in-session and accidentally forget everything as soon as you leave the office" client
You could NOT get Shadow talking in a therapy session like an experienced therapy-goer you'd have to get him condescending on some low-stakes thing that annoyed him this week until he gets pissed off and starts actually experiencing an emotional release to trick him into accidentally revealing the Patterns in his thinking and THEN hit him with the "So when your teammates leave a mess for you to clean up does that make you feel like you're carrying more weight than you ought to" and then he shuts up for the rest of the session because he can't admit that he can't handle everything but it's too late. We havent fleshed out anything about solar!sonic in a while (Because it's difficult when Zephyr. IS solar!sonic how much do we deviate and how much do we use as a basis for the au) but heres some crumbs
- Sonic, post-six-months-imprisonment, has been the main host and was unaware of any plural shenanigans until after starfall. The previous host is chilling in the waaaaaaay back recovering from the isolation, and is. Also named Sonic. Not confusing at all. New Sonic's got very little memory of the time spent in isolation but thanks to being a median system has access to memories from before he split, although he has a vague feeling that "that was someone else" which he chalks up to just growing up.
- The Solar System is mixed origin! They def adapt to a LOTTT of trauma over the years but they're also just inherently kinda Like That. He contains multitudes!!
- They're fairly covert, esp before syscovery.
- Syscovery occured during a. Particularly bad mental health spell due to retraumatization (isolation, when everyone went on their big post-frontiers journeys).
- The first ones to really figure out that Sonic Isn't Doing So Hot are Vanilla and Cream. They spend a lot of time at the Rabbit's while trying to cope with the isolation, and the environment along with Cream's presence causes the little to front. And the kid Cannot handle the stress they're under rn.

How often do u think Sonic visits. Just pops by with a 20 minute prior call if you're lucky. If theyre busy he doesnt stick around past his welcome but if he's in the area he's sure to stop and say hi at least (if he's feeling social that day). Or shout hi as he's running by.
But how often does he go out of his way, do you think. How often does he visit scrapnik island. Does he ever go back to starfall, just to check up on any lost koco. How often does he make his way up to angel island, even? Its not just a quick jog. Gotta get back to the workshop to take a plane up there. How often does he get to see Knuckles really.
