i need to rant about s8 of vld

The end is near. In 2 days we will have to say goodbye.

I'm not ready.

When i say im not ready im not meming or over reacting.

It makes me sick to think about Voltron ending.

2 years ago, I was about to step into the darkest phase of my life, one that I haven't been able to escape yet.

Voltron was the light that guided me so far, Voltron helped me want to live and create.

I stepped up my art because of Voltron.

I stepped up my writing because of Voltron.

Goddamn it I had something to fucking live for. I told myself I couldn't go because a season premire was on the horizon.

I remember thinking about Voltron's end when seaaon 3 dropped, and just brushing it off because it was so far away.

I want to move on so fucking desperately, I want to think about Voltron and not have my heart hurt and my throat close up and want to cry.

I want to hold on to what Voltron has given me, the characters, the concept, the art and storyline.

Everyone around me is moving on so fast, and im stuck in limbo and in a way, i dont want to move on

I want to hold on to Voltron, and thinking about this being the last season makes me want to not breathe anymore.

No more new content, no more clips or hype, no more

The characters i love, they will be forever put away, never to be touched again and i hate that

im always so excited for new season drops, but im dreading season 8

i dont want it, id be better off with voltron delaying the season more or not even dropping it

people will move on, stop talking and posting about it, stop writing fanfiction and making fanart and cosplay and just loving it

im so scared because ill be thrown into what i dont know, away from the vld fandom and vld itself

Klance not becoming cannon isnt the reason i wrote this, all my uwuwu hopes and dreams not becoming cannon isnt the reason I wrote this, allurance and kaxca, the ships themselves are NOT the reason I wrote this.

I wrote this because I, and so many other fucking people, feel so disrespected. They used LGBT to market a show towards those who ARE lgbt and expected to SEE lgbt characters on screen.

You say 'but theres others shows' yea so what? just because theres other shows with lgbt rep, doesnt mean others shouldnt striveto have it too. oh but steven univers- yeah, but what else? this isnt about steven universe, this isn't about whether or not OTHERS shows have rep and OTHER shows keep promises and if OTHER shows do this and that. just as this isnt about klance, this isn't about other shows

like @honestlyfuzzybunny said the whole is gay thing is basically the JK Rowlling 'Dumbledore is gay uwu woke' thing again. lgbt characters, yes, dont need S/O to be lgbt but they need SOME sort of valid sub

About two years ago, I was at a fucking dark as fuck place in my life. One fatefut day during spring break, I remembered 'the red and blue ship i saw on tumblr which came from Voltron'. So i binged s1 and s2. You seem to think I abosluelty DESPISE voltron. You seem to think I want to demonize every aspect of it. i dont. i dont want to be writing out a rant. i dont want to BE ranting. i absolutely love voltron, and the thought of it ending so soon makes me feel hollow.

BUT

Just because it has amazing animation, just because it has amazing characters we all love, just because its all around a semi-good show, (with mediocre writing and bad continuity problems) does NOT excuse the marketing tactic and the bury your gays trope
