Parts of PTSD that no one talks about
Not knowing who to be angry at.
Being angry with yourself for letting it happen even if there was no way to stop it.
Crying and not knowing why.
Flashbacks where nothing bad is happening but it feels bad.
Denying that it ever even happened because your brain doesn't want to process it.
Wanting to go back to it so it feels "bad enough."
Intentionally triggering yourself to feel like your suffering is real.
Being angry all the time at every little thing.
Getting triggered by minor things and then being treated poorly because of your reaction to said trigger.
Hating change.
Being scared to sleep because you know you'll have nightmares.
Struggling to find hobbies that you enjoy.
Feeling like you're barely human.
Struggling to be positive about anything at all.
Feeling like you may be manipulating people around you into liking you.
Feeling like no one believes you because you barely even believe yourself.
Treating your past self as a "dead" version of you and feeling like a completely different person.
Being tired all the time, both physically and mentally.
Feeling like if you talk about it, your safety will be at risk.
Feeling the need to hide your trauma from everyone, including professionals there to help them.
Being paranoid everyone is going to hurt you.
Being physically incapable of talking about it.
Feeling like you're stuck reliving your trauma.
Having to skip classes or work days because of flashbacks.
Mourning your past self.
Wanting to hurt others so they feel what you feel.
Wondering why it had to be you and it wasn't someone else.
Chronic pain.
Clinging to "safe people."
Not being able to find a solid sense of identity.
Forcing yourself to be around people who trigger you for the sake of politeness.

Okay so. So decomposing executive function problems, and the things people grapple with, is a thing that I've been chewing over lately. We talk a lot on Tumblr about executive dysfunction but that's a pretty broad category of brain no worky good, and I'm honestly really curious: for other folks who struggle with executive dysfunction, which specific function causes the most problems for you day to day?
If you have more than one thing you struggle with, pick the one that causes you the most problems day to day.

You’ve got to forgive yourself for being traumatized and needing to learn how to function again.
Recovery isn’t always nightmares and depression, it’s forgetting to eat, being scared of what others might see as completely normal things, it’s getting random panic attacks, not knowing how to take care of yourself, not knowing how to live like an adult, even if you’re twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, of feeling like you’re failing to function in a world where everyone seems to have their shit together.
If you need help, ask for it. Go to forums and ask for advice. Take advantage of community resources. Buy pre-sliced veggies and fruits, eat instant meals if you can’t cook for yourself today. Hire someone. Ask a neighbor for a favor. Buy any item you think might make life easier, even if you feel like you aren’t ‘disabled’ enough to have it.
Some of the depression posts (ie open your windows, take a shower, go outside, call a friend) are really helpful but they’re not always enough. I’ve found advice for spoonies, people with chronic pain or other disabilities have the best tips because they know what it’s like to be bedridden, out of energy, stuck in a brain fog.
You may never return back to the energy you had when you were younger and you might always need to use crutches to help you through life. It’s the same with medication.
Trauma is a real thing that happens to you, it physically alters your brain and it’s alright to have lasting scars.
You’re not broken, your life is not over and you can still be happy.
It’s not your fault.

Hey sleepy baby, are you ready for bed? No? Not tired yet? Well, how about we watch a DVD together? Or would you rather I read you a story? Let me feed you your bottle. There we go, my tired little one. Let's get your toys and blankets and get all comfy... good night, baby!

A tutorial on how to modify these pacies with an adult nip!
Tumblr media
You'll need:
Scissors
Baby pacifier
Adult pacifier nip
Small crew driver or something similar in size and shape. (I had a thingy from a fingernail care kit)
.・。゚×゚☆゚.*・。゚×゚。・*.゚.✧.゚.*・。゚×゚。・*.゚☆゚×゚。・.
Please be careful when handling tools, as you'll see on the last picture, I slipped up and cut my palm a bit while trying to figure out how to pop off the top.. however, after figuring it out, the second one went smoothly!
.・。゚×゚☆゚.*・。゚×゚。・*.゚.✧.゚.*・。゚×゚。・*.゚☆゚×゚。・.
First step is to cut of the baby nip, so you have easy access with your tool of choice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next you insert the tool and citcle it in the hole, make a full rotation while pulling up on the handle thingy.
This will allow he back piece to pop out!
Tumblr media
With the back piece out you now should insert one blade of the scissors and shave along the sides of the hole by carefully rotating the blade. Otherwise the adult nips won't fit, since they are thicker and bigger in general!
You can make the hole wider by slowly pushing the scissors further inside, since the blade gets wider.
Tumblr media
Now the nip should fit snuggly. It's important to know that the milky ones are thicker than the clear nips, so you'll have to shave a little more off for those!
I checked how it fit after each circular motion I made with the scissors.
If the nip is folding, that means you didn't shave of quite enough yet, keep shaving until it sits nicely, but be careful not to shave up too much.
Tumblr media
Now you can pop the back piece back in, it helps to make a back and forth twisting/ wiggling motion while pushing it in.
Tumblr media
I decided to switch the backing colors, since I had a two pack and it looks more fun!
They are now secure, but still easy to open back up, so its easy to replace the nip if needed, just make the same wiggle motion while pulling on the handle!
Tumblr media
I hope this helps some of y'all who are on a budget, like to craft or simply want to try this little project. Have fun!! @littleonabudget
Thank you for reading!!
