Sure, detransition is real. The vast majority of people who detransition do so because of trans antagonism, not because they were pressured into transitioning in the first place. Most of the detransitioners I know are fully supportive of the trans community. Many of them even plan on transitioning again later in life.

I found this incredibly interesting resource I wanted to share on wealth division! It visually depicts wealth shown to scale from the median household to the ultra-wealthy Jeff Bezos’s money. When we say tax the rich, we do not mean anyone considered well-off. We mean the top one percent who hoard a disgusting and unethical amount of wealth! No one should ever have to face poverty when a select few of their fellow Americans can have so much wealth.

Today is Coming Out Day in America - we at TAAAP encourage people to make the choice that is best for themselves (its not always best for someone to come out, based on comfort or safety levels), and if you are coming out, here are some tips/reminders! Description below.
[ID: 3 images. The first has a light purple background, and reads “National Coming Out Day. NCOD began in 1988, as a way to celebrate coming out and also to encourage it, as some believed that coming out and living openly was imperative to making society less queerphobic. Coming out is a personal choice, and can be dangerous for some people. Do not feel pressured to come out, as you do not owe it to anyone. You owe it to yourself to do what is best for yourself and your situation. The “need” to come out in the first place stems from compulsory heterosexuality - modern capitalist societies uphold heterosexuality (and allosexuality/alloromanticism) as the norm, thus making it the assumed default.”
The second has a light green background, and reads “Coming Out as Ace or Aro. Asexual and aromantic people have the challenge of often needing to explain their orientation to people, as these orientations are not as well known as others. Having 101 resources ready to offer the people that you are coming out to can remove some of the pressure from yourself. People may ask probing questions, such as “Do you masturbate?” or “What about marriage?” Remind them that these things are generally rude to ask anyone, and you are not obligated to answer them just because you are aro and/or ace. You may change labels over time - it is up to you whether you come out with the new labels or not with specific people.”
The third has a light green background, and reads “Coming Out as Ace or Aro. Unfortunately, people may brush off asexuality and aromanticism as not real, or as medical or psychological issues. This is not your fault, and it is not your job to convince them otherwise. You also should not feel shamed for any medical or psychological conditions that you do have. If coming out to partners or potential partners, it may be helpful to describe your boundaries and things that you wish to do in the relationship, so that they will have a clearer idea of how to respect your orientation.” End description.]

Happy Indigenous People’s Day!
Such a beautiful and important post! ^
Let us use today and all other days to educate our selves and learn about / listen to Indigenous peoples and their history!
Happy Indigenous People’s Day
Today has always sat odd with me whenever it was celebrated for Christopher Columbus. And it’s melted my heart seeing not just Americans, but people all over recognizing the importance of celebrating Indigenous People as we are, and not the horrific domino effect Columbus’s “discovery” had created for my people.
Happy Indigenous People’s Day to the youth. To the children who continue on our traditions, our songs, and our dances. And Happy Indigenous People’s Day to the children who never got to grow up, to the children forced into residual schools, to the children who should have been able to love the world as they are despite their culture and the color of their skin. To the children of my own family, who had been placed in boarding schools and forced into white hopes as a form of adoption to “take the native out of the kid.” To the children in my family who grew old having to hide their identities and hope they were light enough to pass in a white man’s world.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Happy Indigenous People’s Day to our elders, to the people who lived through history and continued to find a way to pass on our culture to the youth. Thank you for teaching us what it means to sing, what it means to dance, and what it means to wear our regalia. Thank you for gifting us the ability to celebrate who we are, despite how hard people tried to kill that about us.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Happy Indigenous People’s Day to our veterans. To the people who served in wars that shouldn’t exist, for battling for freedom for others even though a lot of us didn’t have the freedom to pass on our culture until 1996. Thank you for your service, for your time, for the love you have in your hearts for everyone even if they may not have deserved it. Thank you for showing the world what it means to truly love unconditionally.
Tumblr media
Happy Indigenous People’s Day to the musicians, to our drummers, and our singers. Thank you for passing on our songs, and continuing to let Mother Earth’s heart continue to beat through our drums. Thank you to the singers who pass on our stories, who teach us the importance of song in our culture. Thank you for never letting our voices die out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Happy Indigenous People’s Day to my brothers and sisters, my aunts and uncles in all tribes, who understand the importance of representing our families. Our unique way of life. Thank you for showing us it’s not about the color of your skin, but rather the traditions that you pass on that makes you Indigenous. That even with colonization, we are worthy of our traditions and our culture and are proudly protected by both the maker and the ancestors who passed on before us. And thank you to my own ancestors, who I continue to see and express every day in my own waking life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Happy Indigenous People’s Day to our allies, to the people who understand what it takes to help my people and our community thrive. Thank you to the people who continue to fight for our land back, for protecting our sacred monuments, for protecting our water, and for protecting our people. Thank you to those who volunteer at powwows, to those who insist on learning our culture and history, to those who fight to keep it in our history books.
We are not survivors. We are made of the souls of those who passed on before us, given the gift of life to celebrate once was and what will be. And for that, we will never die.

💐 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 💐
This day is a great reminder of how pertinent it is for us to prioritize our own mental health and the mental health of those around you.
There’s still a stigma around mental health, mental illness, and seeking treatment. It’s never something to be ashamed of, and it does not make you lesser. 💛
Tumblr media
My only hope is that we can live in a world of healing, where everyone has access to the care they need, and all of our lives are devoid of the illness-causing systems.

Gender equality & reproductive rights - always!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Abortion rights are under attack, and it’s time to fight back.
If you think this is just about Texas or ‘red’ states, you’re wrong. Attacks on abortion anywhere are a threat to our rights everywhere. Today Texas’ SB8 takes effect. This dangerous and extreme law bans abortion as early as six weeks (way before most people even know they’re pregnant) and includes an unprecedent provision that allows private individuals - including anti-abortion protestors - to file lawsuits enforcing the bans. There’s even a monetary reward - up to $10,000 - for successful lawsuits. There have been over 90 abortion restrictions enacted this year alone - more than any year since Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973. It’s time to raise the alarm - keep #bansoffourbodies. What can you do? On Wednesday, September 1, 2021, Texas’s new law, S.B. 8, went into effect. This law effectively bans abortion in the state AND asks private citizens to act as bounty hunters to “enforce” the law.
Then, in the dead of the night, the Supreme Court turned its back on 50 years of precedent, rendering Roe v. Wade effectively meaningless in Texas. The Supreme Court allowed Texas’s unconstitutional six week abortion ban to go into effect. Six weeks is before many people know that they’re pregnant.
This is an attack on human rights and Texas law sets a dangerous legal precedent and could clear a path for states to override people’s constitutional rights. If the courts let this bill stand we can expect to see similar bills introduced in states across the country.
Abortion is health care. Yet politicians are consistently attacking access to that care (even during a pandemic).
Tumblr, let's rally our voice and speak out against this ban.

We blame homelessness and people without homes for our problems, while failing to realize the we create problems in preventing people from having homes and/or basic facilities. Shelter is not a privilege, it’s a must.
Hate homeless people - give them a home 🏡

Know that there will always people looking out for you. Don’t feel like you shouldn’t tell someone how you are feeling or discuss your situation. Sometimes talking is the only way to be better.
There is a lot of work that needs to be done to eradicate stigmas against mental illness and make mental healthcare more accessible! It is equally as important as physical health.

Please be mindful of what happened in Haiti. This is beyond devastating.

More than 300 people dead after 7.2-magnitude earthquake strikes Haiti | CNN
At least 304 people have died after a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti Saturday morning, according to the country’s civil protection service.
More than 1,800 people were injured, the service added.
The US Geological Survey previously said it was likely that casualties would be “high,” saying the “disaster is likely widespread.”
One hospital in the southern city of Jeremie said it is overwhelmed with patients.
“There are a lot of people coming in – a lot of people,” an administrator at the Hopital Saint Antoine told CNN. “We don’t have enough supplies.”
The hospital has set up tents in its courtyard, the administrator said.
The earthquake was about 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) northeast of Saint-Louis-du-Sud and 10 kilometers deep, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
“There are reports of significant damage to homes, roads, and infrastructure,” American Red Cross spokeswoman Katie Wilkes said.
Martine Moise, the first lady of Haiti, said her heart “hurts” after receiving news about the earthquake, which caused enormous damage south of Grand’Anse.
“The initial information that I have received from Grand’Anse is heart-wrenching,” the first lady said. “It hurts my heart for the kids, the mothers, the elderlies, the handicaps, my friends, and all the victims of this earthquake.”
“My brothers and sisters, we have to put our shoulders together to come together to demonstrate our solidarity. It is our togetherness that makes up our strength and resilience. Courage, I will always be by your side.” Moise added.
Videos posted on social media offer a glimpse of the widespread destruction. One from Les Cayes shows a street strewn with rubble and what is left of a number of buildings. Dust fills the air.
A man in the video said that he was lucky that the building he was in did not collapse, but many other houses in the area did.
“There are a lot of wounded on the street,” he said.
A 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, 2010, left between 220,000 and 300,000 people dead and injured hundreds of thousands more. That was 13 kilometers deep.  …
