Crying imagining maki saying she found her human heart in me/ our relationship.
She says this before bringing one hand up to gentle shape her hand in the form of my check, cradling the air but not yet touching me, hesitant to bring herself any closer. I loosely grasp her wrist and lean my face into her open palm, closing my eyes and relishing in her touch. Peeking my eyes open to steal a glance at her expression, taking in her softened features, the adoration in her eyes and her barely restrained smile.
She lets out a shuddering breath as she finally allows herself to be free of the guilt and pain that torments her. Feeling lighter of her past as she looks at me, her future. Leaning closer, closing the gap, to just barely brush her lips across my forehead before moving down and pressing a sure, firm kiss to my lips.
She breaks the kiss and moves away slightly to find and hold my gaze. Her hands, rough to the touch but so so warm and gentle, are both cupping my face to ensure she can maintain eye contact as she confesses. Her thumbs gently slide across my cheekbones as she declares that I am her love, that I am her heart. And then she kisses me again, and again, and again.
