Which, yes, I should add that the amount of emotional pain rejection makes me feel is not considered typical - this is a key part of it being worth noticing and diagnosing. But that doesn’t make me as a person not worth understanding or meeting with compassion, that’s the moral of the thing here.
Do any of you sometimes just casually forget you have RSD? Like you’re reacting to something very negatively internally and you keep thinking about what an intense overreaction it is and how weird it is that you can’t regulate that, but you’re never just like. Hey maybe that’s that emotional dysregulation thing I’ve heard so much about. Because it can’t be, you’re just strange and abnormal.

When I was younger and researching the autism diagnosis criteria and symptoms, I thought “oh I couldn’t POSSIBLY be autistic.” Because when I read “takes everything literally” I thought it literally meant EVERYTHING and I was like “I don’t take EVERYTHING literally, just most things!” And I just realized the other day that it didn’t actually mean EVERYTHING and that was an overstatement.
