« The central point of TROS will be the ambiguous relationship between Rey and Kylo. It will remain the heart of the story of the trilogy and JJ honors it the best he can. » - SFX Magazine

The Rise of Skywalker “End” Trailer Breakdown/ Entertainment Weekly
This is the Resistance arriving at Pasaana.
So we now have 100% confirmation that it is definitely Vader’s mask on the stand that Kylo/Rey smash.
We can see this shot of Kylo is from the same “relics” room within his ship (the white interior, the diamond windows).
(Previous trailer footage).
It’s interesting however, that in the new “End” footage, Rey has her saddle bag and her staff slung on her shoulder. Where as in the previous footage of her and Kylo fighting and/or destroying the mask, she’s not wearing her bag, her staff is leaning against the wall in between them (along with Chewie’s stuff), and she has also produced a dagger.
Also, WHAT IS THIS that I spy in the corner?? I’m sure its not, but it reminds me of this double saber 😂:
I adore this shot. 🥰The ANGST. Why is Kylo just standing there?? The Falcon looks like its about to fly off, but I think its just getting into the side-on position so the ramp lines up right for Rey’s jump. (Also, I know this is just a FO hanger, but it looks so ethereal, like Rey is on the threshold of a realm.)
And here we can see the Stormtroopers have been knocked over in the hanger, but Kylo is holding his ground (with the Force probs), and looks to be making his way toward Rey as she leaps away.
This is literally THE moment captured by Empire Magazine’s image.
And I assume this EW image takes place beforehand, because the Troopers are still standing, lol. (He’s such a sad boy UGH 🥺).
Kylo is still there, tryna make his way to her. 😭
And this is interesting because the trajectory of her jump looks like she is 100% not going to make it (but hey, the prequel Jedi could leap around like frogs so maybe she will). And what is REALLY interesting, is there’s definitely something coming from the bottom of the screen. So maybe this’ll be that film trope (Aladdin’s magical carpet etc) where it looks like Rey is going to fall, but then something scoops in and saves her.
This shot is also very beautiful, and feels very TFA. The snow and fire coming together, the Reylo elements: Rey = water, Kylo = fire. And since it’s snowing and stony, this has to be Kijimi [see the Vanity Fair image below of Zorri in the “snow-dusted world Kijimi”, even the lamps match]. It does look like the FO has been through Kijimi and caused havoc, since the street seems to be in disarray, and that could just be items that have fall over on the steps, but to me it looks like dead/injured bodies.
The person at the top of the stairs with a blaster could be a Resistance member in a beige uniform, or they could be a local on the planet. Either way the possible two bodies on the steps look like they’re dressed in a similar colour.
We can see the FO Troopers being deployed on Kijimi in this EW image.
And we finish with a panned out view from what we got in the previous trailer footage. This time we can see Palpatine’s throne dwarfing Rey. More trademark blue Palps lighting too.
From the previous trailer:
“Yet Abrams says fans still don’t really know anything. “The [trailers] that have come out are scratching the surface of what the movie is,” the famously spoiler-averse director says.”
