If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever.

please tell me it’s not just me, whenever i see a green field i want to run across it, imaging a victorian man screaming after me, “geraldine you are betrothed you will marry him” and in response “papa i hate him i’m going to go live in the woods and cut my hair” and i continue running through the tall grass, wind breezing through my shawl , feeling deliciously delightfully free

I felt this speech with my whole heart, with my whole life of about 50 years on this planet. My experiences as a little girl who was made a scapegoat, the teenager who was sexualised because i had big boobs, the young mother who didn't have a career because she wanted to do a good job taking care of her three daughters -- and one son. 🥰💕💞 And now as an older woman -- who is now a widow; who feels like life has passed me by and I'm not beautiful anymore.
I'm reclaiming my life, and my beauty and what it means to be a woman. Its about so much more than they would like us to think. Trust me, they couldn't do any of it without us. That's why they started subjugating us from day one. They were afraid of the power we could wield. So now, its time for us all to take that power that has always been ours. The first way to do it, is love yourself, tell yourself you're beautiful everyday. Support the women in your life, make them know how special they are. Tell them its okay to just be exactly who they are and look exactly the way they are. Beauty comes in so many forms and so many places. Don't let anyone else make you feel less than... ever!!! 💕💞😍🥰
Also, a note. Please take notice of the three final tags!! I chose womenare... and I got 3 very derogatory terms suggested to me as tags. Do better Tumblr people. 😁

My all-time favourite scene. Had me crying half an hour into the movie. And that woman is soooo beautiful. And her name is Ann Roth, a friend of Greta Gerwig. I am an older women and this scene, and the scene where America Ferreira makes her speech. It had me cheering in the damn theater & crying happy tears. Right next to a man, his son, & three daughters, all dressed in pink. Well, the man wasn't dressed in pink, but he should've been. I am so happy to exist in a time where I can see a movie that stands up for all women, but also tells us that we all need to treat each other kinder. And beauty is really only skin deep. Women--all women are beautiful. All women are someones grandmother, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, best friend, or niece. [And if I missed one, please let me know, I'll add it] So every single person on this planet, owes their life to a woman. Treat them like people and treat them with respect. Tell them they're beautiful. And WOMEN!! tell women in public they look beautiful. And treat women like the kick ass humans that they are. 💞💕💞
