my notes: yo. guys. in this house, we stan lqbys. their writing style is so good and their gyuhao fics (including this one and two others in the series) are honestly a gift to the fandom. short and sweet, this is the perfect bit of fluff to warm your soul if you’re pressed for time. i’d rec the other two as well but that’s a little spammy. just know that they’re also gold.

my notes: so so good???? melecs has a real talent for rom-com setups and execution, and i’ve read this fic so many times because it’s a gift to the fandom. the dialogue is hilarious, the characterization is on point, and it’s guaranteed to make you smile. for more quality fics, i recommend going through the author’s archive, because it’s all good.

The way Jeonghan's breath shuddered, his body bucking against Seungcheol's, was supremely satisfying. "Your box of tricks isn't going to get me in your bed." His voice was so low and smooth, Seungcheol shivered with the vibration it sent down his spine. Jeonghan leaned in, ghosting his lips across Seungcheol's. "It may keep me there, but if you want me, you're going to have to be more clever than that."
Or, Seungcheol owns a sex shop and Jeonghan buys twelve vibrators in the name of science.
my notes: what a ride! this fic was frothy fun and an absolute gem. i’m so glad i discovered this addition to the jeongcheol section of svt fandom because it’s the kind of fic i want to read again and again. after i finished i instantly bookmarked it. the characterization and relationships feel so vivid and realistic, the hijinks and mistakes absolutely believable. you’ll laugh a whole lot; just sit back and enjoy the ride.

my notes: i will freely admit that i am weak for puns and this fic has a pretty good example of one. don’t be fooled by its relative shortness, readers. the build-up to the final scene is almost excruciating, the relationships and characterizations are spot-on, and although the final scene escalates pretty quickly in that fanfic way, it’s still satisfying. i do wish we got to see more of the friendship between joshua and jeonghan and/or that it was longer, but if you’re just looking for a quick jeongcheol read, this is it.

my notes: holy shit. this fic goes from ostensibly normal and slowly descends into some fucked up organized crime stuff and it’s executed really well. the first fucking line feels like foreshadowing for the ending and has a wonderful voice to boot; the author’s foreshadowing is always subtle enough that you don’t quite pick up on it but does a good job of hinting at what’s coming, and the twist ending is perfectly suspenseful. if i would have a gripe it would only be that where the story was set was confusing at the beginning, but other than that, so so good.

my notes: i love this fic so so much. well-written, beautiful relationship development for wonhui with beautiful metaphors to boot, explores ideas about growing up and war in space and the difference between a star and a sun (this is a protracted metaphor throughout the fic). honestly, A++. i love it.
