Heeseung
He’s the type to be dragged anywhere, will be okay with any suggestions you make, be it dinner at a fancy restaurant, a budget food chain, or even just a cozy night at home with delivery food.
When ordering, he’s also the type to let you pick, answering with “I don’t mind,” or “sure, let’s get that.”
Is a very neat and quiet eater, which makes for the perfect dinner partner if you are the talkative type. If you’re not, then you are both comfortable in silence.
Does not say much but still eats a lot. If he sees some food on your plate untouched, he’ll ask if you’re going to eat it.
Proactively orders for you or calls the waiter whenever you need anything.
Orders dessert from the start, knowing your order by heart.
When you offer to split the bill, he reluctantly agrees, but then ends up giving his card to pay full.
You still want to hang out at a café after dinner, and of course he’ll say yes.
Tumblr media
Jay
Will opt for a bougie restaurant or a self-grill place where he can showcase his cooking skills.
If you’re at a restaurant, you’ll be asking him about each menu and he’ll tell you everything he knows about it.
If you’re grilling your own food, expect to never touch the tongs, for he will be in charge of all the cooking and plating.
When he confidently says something and the owner or the waiter of the place does the opposite, proving him wrong, you just shoot him a little smile to reassure him that it’s fine.
Seems to fit a lot of food in his mouth but gets full fast, will try to match your pace in eating.
You need a napkin? He’ll reach out for it first. Your chopsticks fell? He’ll give you his before he asks for a new pair. You got something on your mouth? He’ll nonchalantly wipe it away with his thumb.
Don’t even try to offer to split the bill, you won’t even have the chance. He’ll excuse himself to the restrooms and the next thing you know your meal is already paid for.
On the walk home, he’ll discuss with you the plus points of the place you just ate in, and he’s already planning the next dinner date.
Tumblr media
Sunghoon
Actually decides on a fixed place before you get the chance to suggest one. His go-to menu: steak.
Recommends the best cut and the best doneness, but in the end let’s you choose according to your taste.
When the meal comes, he asks the waiter to put your plate in front of him, which confuses you, but then he quickly cuts up the steak into pieces before handing over your plate to your side.
He will then listen to you talk while you eat as he cuts his own steak and also try to match your pace.
He’s the type to let you know if you have something on your teeth or your mouth, tapping his own lips while tilting his chin, then offering you a napkin.
Is a bit dad-like in the sense that he encourages you to finish everything on your plate, but if you’re too full then he’ll finish it.
Makes sure all the food you ordered are cleared out before ordering dessert, or offering to get dessert someplace else.
You beat him to paying, and he sulks a bit, but then promises he’ll treat you to the next dinner date.
Tumblr media
Jake
Is absolutely delighted when you said you found a new place, asks a lot of questions about it on the way there.
Spends a lot of time figuring out what to order, wondering how big the portion is, also wondering if the owner would be kind enough to give extras.
Places the order for you both and accurately calculates the total that you have to pay later.
When the order comes and he sees how thick the meat is, he dramatically stands up (and you quickly tug his sleeve to pull him back to his seat) while exclaiming “is this for real???”
Is actually, secretly an expert at cooking the meat. He still actively talks to you but never burns a piece or has anything undercooked.
Despite his occasionally embarrassing loud voice, his table manners are quite good. He faces the other side when checking his teeth in your pocket mirror, and he makes sure there’s nothing on your face either.
You both cleared out all the food on your table and he is just looking so proud of you for eating a lot.
Happily splits the bill with you but then he takes you to a café for dessert and ends up paying more, which he doesn’t mind at all.
Tumblr media
Sunoo
He has been looking forward to having dinner with you for so long that he almost gave up lunch just so he can eat more with you.
Looks at the menu thoroughly, mentioning each dish and asking what you think about it.
Insists on ordering different menus so you can try each other’s dishes, and so he can switch with you if you’re not fond of your own choice.
Claps softly when the food arrives and then glances at you and just bursts out laughing when he sees your amazed face.
Talks a lot with you when he eats that you literally need to remind him to have a bite before the meal turns cold.
Dinner with him takes hours because you both are slow eaters and active talkers.
You have some leftover in the end, and he suggests that you take the food home in case you get hungry by midnight.
Still takes you to an ice cream place after, claiming that there is always room for dessert.
Tumblr media
Jungwon
Shows up at your door with several places to choose from, having done research beforehand. You ended up picking a place that he somehow talks so highly of, sensing that he really wants to go there.
Is just giddy by the time you arrive, and you end up being impressed just by the interior of the place.
Decides to be adventurous and orders a dish you both have never tried before, assuring you that if you don’t like it then he will finish it.
Very polite to the staff and waiters, to the point that he even uses slight aegyo just to get the attention of the workers (adorable, not annoying).
Comments on the taste of food every time he takes a bite, encourages you to take a bite to and anticipates your reaction with wide eyes.
Places food on your plate when you’re too busy talking or commenting on your surroundings.
Beats you to the cashier to pay but then finds out he doesn’t have enough cash, so he sheepishly grins and turns to you.
You both stop by a convenience store on the way home and he gets you all the snacks you want to stock up to make up for it.
Tumblr media
Ni-ki
He is team meat all the way, just like Sunghoon, but he is honestly happy to eat wherever you take him.
When reading the menu, he is super focused and quiet that you literally have to wave at him to get his attention, and he ends up asking you what each dish means since there is no visual aid.
Becomes intrigued at every single dish you explain that he then has a hard time deciding on one.
You decide to order three dishes to split between the two of you, and he is sceptical at first but eventually trusts you.
As soon as the food arrives, he takes his chopsticks and split the dishes equally, separating your side from his.
When he sees you take a bite, he notices the doubt in your face, and then when you push your spoon towards his side he gets the memo and ends up finishing the dish you didn’t quite like.
He eats a lot and drinks a lot of water, and by the end of the meal he has to excuse himself to go to the restrooms.
When he comes back, you are already done paying. Feels slightly guilty even though you insist it’s alright, and ends up transferring you his part of the bill on the way home.

author's note: welcome to seattlesolace, and welcome to another fantasy-related content.
works regarding guardian angels have always been my favorite type of thing to read, so this is my spin on it. no, y/n doesn't have wings, and the type of guarding she does is more on the emotional side, but I do hope you like this one since it does bring me a little comfort when I reread it.
the song inspiration for this fic is below:
it was the song that Jungkook used in his GCF video and for some reason it kept playing in my head, and when I read the lyrics it was definitely giving me guardian angels vibes... so that's how this fic was made! for now, enjoy 🤍

When he was 8
When you’re screaming, but they only hear you whisper I’ll be there for you
“Park Jongseong!”
Jay blinked as he struggled to wake up at the sound of his nagging mother. It was 7 AM. He looked around his room before blinking several more times and then closing his eyes shut again.
The door flung open and his mother barged in. Holding a spatula on one hand, she patted Jay with the other hand and tried her best to lower her voice.
“Jay, you’re gonna be late. Come on, you have to get ready for school.”
“I don’t wanna go,” said Jay in a sulky voice.
His mother frowned. “Why?”
Jay remained silent. He’d rather keep his mouth shut than telling his mother and getting embarrassed all over again.
“Look, whatever is going on, you have to get it together or else your father is going to throw another lecture about the importance of education. Now I have to go finish breakfast. You better be ready by the time the food is served, okay?”
Jay’s mother ruffled her son’s hair as she left the room, leaving the door open on purpose. As Jay tossed and turned throwing a silent fit, he noticed the figure standing by the door.
“Noona?”
You smiled widely and entered the room, sitting on the edge of Jay’s bed. Jay automatically sat up and straightened himself.
“You need to listen to your mother,” you said, calmly.
Jay pouted. “But you know what happened the other day at school.”
You nodded. “I do. And I loved what you did.”
“Telling off a bully made me become the target of bullying. I didn’t see it coming,” Jay was now fully awake, fighting off yawns.
“It will get better,” you straightened the wrinkles on your white dress.
“How?”
“If you refuse to go to school, that just shows how much you are afraid of them. Don’t ever let them know about your fear. Don’t even feel afraid.”
For a boy his age, he knows that all the things you just said made sense. It was cliché, even. But it still didn’t convince him to go to school.
“I don’t care what people think about me,” he said, finally, after seconds of silence.
You raised an eyebrow. “You are a paradox. You stood up for the poor girl in class, and then you get bullied, and you don’t wanna go to school, and now you think you don’t care what people think about you, but at the same time you are still refusing and---“
“Okay! Okay, Noona! I will go to school if you stop talking,” Jay got out of his bed and snatched the towel hanging on his chair.
You laughed. “See you later?”
“See you later!”
Tumblr media
When he was 17
I can’t do this alone Sometimes I just need a light
Jay kicked the little stones and made traces of lines in the sand. He took the lollipop he was eating and used the stick to write down something. He heard footsteps coming from behind him. When he turned around, you were already standing there, in your white dress, strands of hair falling off from your messy bun.
“Took you long enough,” murmured Jay.
You placed a hand over your chest, acting offended. “Some attitude?”
“I called for you 15 minutes ago, you usually respond within a minute,” Jay clearly looked disappointed. You sighed.
“I’m sorry. I had some stuff to take care of…”
“Another 17-year-old with romance problems?” asked Jay.
You tilted your head and chuckled. “No, some paper problems regarding the new recruitment for guardian angels. So, what is up with you?”
“There is this girl I like…”
“Okay, not the first,” you sat down on the bench as you listened to Jay who was still on his feet, playing with the sand.
“But I don’t know if I should tell her.”
You observed the teenage boy in front of you. His cap covered half his face, his loose tee and his wide-fit shorts made him look more mature than his age.
Noticing no response from you, Jay coughed. “Aren’t you cold?”
You realized Jay was referring to the fact that you wear the same white dress all the time and only change outfits whenever you were showing yourself to the real world.
“Angels don’t get cold, don’t worry.” You smiled. “Okay, so you like her. How much?”
Hearing this question, Jay’s lips form into a wide smile. It made you smile, too.
“A lot.”
“What do you like about her?”
“Almost… everything? Why are you asking me this, you know exactly who she is. You pop up at school like every day,” Jay got tired and sat down beside you.
“I know exactly what she’s like,” you leaned on the bench and stared at the stars. “But I want to know what she looks like, painted with the words from your mouth.”
Jay laughed shyly. “I didn’t know you were poetic.”
“I’m not, but you are,” you looked at Jay and elbowed him. “Go on. Answer.”
“Noona.”
“What?”
“Do I really have to? It’s embarrassing,” Jay covered his face with his two hands.
You gasped in surprise. “Embarrassing?? Nothing is embarrassing about love. What’s embarrassing is watching you grow up from the chubby 3-year-old who runs around the backyard, naked, become a sophisticated, academic-award-winning 17-year-old who doesn’t even know how to talk to girls.”
“Speaking of ages…” Jay turned around to face you. He had one leg up the bench so he could really face you.
“Don’t change the subject,” you rolled your eyes.
“I’ve never really asked but I want to know. How old are you?” Jay stared at you, full of curiosity.
“I’m just a little over a thousand years old—“
“Not your angel age, like your human age, this figure, right now?” Jay poked you slightly to confirm his question. You felt a buzz.
“Well, um,” you did not even think for once that you would become flustered. “I’m probably in my mid-20s? Like 25? 26?”
Jay observed you in detail. It made you a tad bit giddy.
“Stop staring,” you said, shoving Jay’s face away.
Jay complained. “Not fair! You watch me sleep all the time.”
“No, I don’t. And if you say it like that, it sounds creepy.”
“But you do. Nothing in my room is white. So, if I see something white it’s definitely you.”
“What if it’s a ghost?”
Jay scoffed, sounding slightly scared. “Don’t say that.”
“Yet you are talking to me now,” you stared back at Jay, challenging him. Jay sighed and held up his hands.
“Fine. But you’re not a ghost. I believe in you because you’ve always been there for me. Now please give me advice, I am lost,” Jay leaned back to the bench after emphasizing the last word and accidentally knocked his cap off.
You caught his cap and put it on your head. Jay laughed at the sight of this.
“First of all, you need to determine whether or not you really need to confess. What’s the aim of your confession? Just to let her know? To date her? To find out if she feels the same? If the aim is to just let yourself be free of the burden that is your feelings, that is quite a selfish move. I suggest you don’t confess.”
Jay blinked and turned to you. “Wow. That was first of all?”
“Second of all,” you said as you chuckled and shoved Jay’s face away. “You need to weigh the situation. Once you’ve decided to confess, you really need to make sure of the place and time of your confession. Would you want to do it at the university? In a café? In class? Whatever. Make sure you do what she likes—“
“We’re not into that stage yet—“
“I mean NOT SEXUALLY!” you raised your voice. Jay burst out laughing and almost choked on his lollipop.
“Go choke some more,” you stood up, feeling a bit fed up.
Jay held your hand to stop you from walking away, even though he knew you could just poof and evaporate to oblivion because you had done that several times. But this time, you stayed.
“I’m sorry,” he said, “you may proceed.” Jay scooted to let you sit beside him again.
“The last,” you sat back down and smoothed out your dress. “Is to prepare for the worst. Looking at you like this,” you made a gesture at Jay, judgingly. “She might not accept your confession.”
“Hey!” Jay was clearly offended, but he smiled as he complained. “Am I really that bad?”
“You know why I came late?”
“Why?”
“Because I asked for a substitute to be your guardian while I find a different person who causes less trouble—“
Jay nudged you as you broke into laughter. “Bullshit. You love me.”
“Ha!” you scoffed. I really do. “Do you want me to continue?”
“Yes, please.”
“If she does not accept your confession, then it’s okay. You want to cry? Fine. You want to binge-eat? Fine. But like I said back then when you were dealing with bullies, don’t let it show. Don’t let your disappointment show, don’t let your sadness show. Don’t even be angry because she has the right to turn you down if she doesn’t like you back.”
“Wow,” Jay looked at you in awe.
“I know right,” you tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear. “I’m stunning at night.”
“You sound so wise, I almost believed you when you said you were in your mid-20s,” Jay shook his head and took his cap back.
“Well, how old do you think I should be given this amount of wisdom?”
“At least 50—ouch!”
You pinched Jay’s arm really hard to the point that his first cry of shock gradually turned into genuine screams of pain. You almost died of silent laughter.
“Are you sure you’re gonna be okay if you get rejected?” you asked, looking concerned.
Jay took a deep breath. “Of course I’ll be okay. I’ve got you.”
You sat in brief silence for a moment.
“I mean, you can use your superpowers to find other girls for me, right?” Jay flashed a sweet smile to you, his signature lopsided smirk.
“In your dreams, you boob,” you snickered, flicking Jay’s cap off his head.
Tumblr media
When he just turned 23
But I’m holding on to something Won’t let go of you for nothing I’m running just to keep my hands on you
Your eyes widened at the sight of food being served in front of you. Sitting across from you is Jay, clearly not feeling the same excitement.
“Oh, please, cheer up!” you said as you handed him a pair of chopsticks. “You’re not in the mood for seafood?”
Jay shook his head and fixed his beanie.
“Well, tough, because I feel like eating some seafood and Im paying,” you started stirring the seafood stew that was boiling, but then your smile faded when you didn’t get a reaction from Jay.
“I’m sorry,” you said, putting the ladle down. “Do you want to order something else?”
“No, no, it’s okay,” Jay answered without missing a beat. “It’s just that…”
He fell silent and blankly stared at the food before shifting his eyes to you.
“You’re thinking about her?” you asked, knowingly. Jay nodded.
You put both your elbows on the table and leaned forward. “Tell me everything.”
“You know already.”
“No, I don’t. I stopped following you on your dates since I got caught once and you told me off,” you said in defense. “And I’m still sorry for that, by the way.”
Jay shot a weak smile. “We’re in a fight. Or at least, I think we are. She doesn’t even take it seriously.”
You have been observing Jay’s first serious relationship for over 2 years. It was the same girl Jay confessed to when he was 17, except back then, he got rejected.
“What happened?” you asked. “Also, do you mind if I listen while eating?”
Jay shook his head and told you to help yourself. As you listened to his story, you carefully took out pieces of seafood onto your plate as well.
“She has a lot of friends. Male friends. And when I say a lot, I mean it,” said Jay who was now playing with his chopsticks.
“And it bothers you?”
“What kind of boyfriend wouldn’t be bothered?” Jay almost snapped the chopsticks. You had to carefully hold his hand down.
“Lower your voice, Jay,” you hushed. Jay mouthed ‘sorry’.
“She has no boundaries, Noona. She hangs out with them almost all the time. She even shares affectionate terms and nicknames with one of them that I dislike the most.”
You stopped stirring your food and shifted your eyes to his face.
“Whenever I call her or talk to her it feels rather rushed, like a squeezed-in business meeting.”
You paused eating for a while as you gathered your thoughts. She sounds like an awful person.
“Jay, I’m gonna ask you something.”
Jay blinked at the change of tone in your voice. “What?”
“From the beginning of your relationship, did you ever think you would last this long?”
Jay took a deep breath and rested his elbows on the table, propping his head up with both his hands.
“Honestly, I don’t know,” he answered after taking a couple of seconds to think.
“Alright, let me ask another thing. Have you ever thought, during your relationship, that you give more than you take—“
“Yes.”
You were slightly shocked at the answer.
“That didn’t take me long to answer, huh?” Jay noticed the surprise on your face.
“That’s… a problem, Jay,” you looked into his eyes with a sad gaze. She doesn’t deserve you.
Before you were able to resume your thoughts, an old lady came by your table and served a second dish.
“We didn’t order this—“ said Jay.
“Oh, we did! Thank you, auntie!”
Jay smiled at the old lady before looking at you in confusion. “We didn’t?”
“I know you’re not the biggest fan of seafood, so here’s your meat. Now, tell me everything so I can give you the proper advice.”
You were looking down at your bowl, devouring the seafood stew that was now completely yours. As he picked up his chopsticks, he smiled and mumbled a ‘thank you’ before joining to eat.
---
“You broke two rules.”
You fixed the glasses sitting on your nose as you leaned forward. “Excuse me?”
“Y/N, I’ve told you many times before. Before you were even assigned to this boy.”
“Man,” you corrected.
“Fine, ‘man’,” said the guy in front of you as he fixed his nametag which read Jung Hoseok.
You sighed. “Okay, what did I do wrong?”
Hoseok was sifting through the papers when he glanced up at you and blinked. “You really want me to tell you?”
You shrugged.
Hoseok cleared his throat. “Okay, you violated his personal life by interfering with his romantic relationships—“
“I didn’t do anything wrong—“
“And! You developed feelings for him.”
Hearing the second point, you fell silent. Hoseok looked at you and took out a pen from his jacket.
“It’s not like we don’t know, Y/N,” said Hoseok in a lower voice. “I actually expected more from you.”
You looked back at Hoseok. As a guardian angel who had been doing your job for just ten years more than the man in front of you, you felt slightly ashamed. Hoseok had achieved so much in so little time that this scene where you were being scolded by someone of a higher position despite less experience did not feel bad.
Hoseok looked around at the empty café that he cleared out for this special meeting. At the door, Hoseok’s assistant was standing straight, guarding the entrance.
“Alright,” you finally spoke up. “What’s my penalty? A year off? Desk job at the headquarters for like, three months?”
Hoseok frowned. “Y/N, the rule you violated deserves a penalty that is much… worse than just a desk job.”
“What? I’m fired forever?” You were genuinely clueless since you had never broken a rule before, thus never acknowledging or studying the guide on guarding that had been constantly renewed every now and then.
“You’re becoming human,” said Hoseok, firmly.
You fell silent, but not for long. “Okay. Okay, I’m gonna be mortal. No big deal—“
“And memories of him will be erased, the same works for him,” Hoseok continued.
You scoffed. “You mean, he won’t remember me?”
Hoseok nodded. “Neither will you.”
“Hoseok, please—“
“I’m sorry, Y/N…”
You stared at the paper and the pen that Hoseok had readied. You remained still like that for a couple of seconds before you felt your eyes tearing up, and you decided to wipe your tears before they fell and embarrass you further.
“So, we get punished for loving people now?” you asked. “So much for being angels.”
Hoseok pushed the paper forward for you to sign as you reached for the pen. “That’s exactly my point, Y/N. We’re angels.”
You signed the paper which signified the end of your contract.
“We don’t feel,” said Hoseok as he pushed another folder to you, containing important documents.
“This is your identity, you will find everything you need to know about the human world and becoming human. Your age stays the same as now, but once you walk out that door,” Hoseok pointed to the guard at the entrance. “You will become human, and you’re gonna start aging.”
You peeked into the files that were now in your hands. “Does this mean I won’t be able to see you, too?”
Hoseok smiled as he tidied up all the loose papers. “I’m gonna miss you, Y/N.”
You let out a deep sigh and stood up. You walked over to Hoseok’s side as he got out of his chair, too.
“It’s been a pleasure, Hope,” you said, calling him by his code name. Hoseok shook your hand for a second before pulling you into a hug.
“Don’t be a bitch,” he said, followed by a laugh. You smacked his back before pulling away.
“Wait, if I’m becoming human, does that mean I’m gonna get a guardian assigned to me too now?” you asked, eyebrows furrowed, thinking hard.
Hoseok was genuinely confused for two seconds. “That is a really good question. I’m gonna have to check later at the headquarters.”
The two of them stood still before Hoseok’s phone started to ring. The boss was calling.
“I gotta take this. Best of luck to you, Y/N.”
You took two steps forward and hugged Hoseok one last time. “Thanks, mate.”
“Don’t forget your files,” Hoseok pointed to the folder before answering the phone. “Hello? Yes, Sir—“
Your ears canceled out the conversation immediately as your heels started clicking, making your way to the entrance. You gave the guard a warm smile before he opened the door for you.
The moment you stepped out of the door you completely felt blank. You knew your name, and how old you were, but you didn’t have a grasp of why you were there and where you were heading.
“Wait,” you murmured to yourself as you opened your files. You started reading the papers as you made your way to the sidewalk.
You weren’t even that far away from the shop you exited when suddenly a young man, who was rushing behind you, bumped into you, making you lose your balance.
“Oh, shit!” The young man exclaimed as he gathered the files that flew from your hands before making his way to you to help you up. “I am so sorry! Are you okay?”
You were fine, you thought to yourself, as you slipped back into your heels. However, as you looked up to see the man who caused this ruckus, you felt a heavy weight on your chest.
It was Jay.
“Miss, are you hurt?” He asked one more time, being extremely polite not to touch you anywhere, but making sure he did not leave you out of his sight.
“I’m… fine,” you answered clutching your chest. You felt the extreme weight getting even more painful.
“Look, I’m actually really in a hurry, so forgive me if I leave you here?” Jay offered his hand to help you up, but you declined. “Um, here are your papers. Again, I’m so sorry.”
You forced a smile, half in pain and half confused as to why you were feeling such discomfort. “That’s okay.”
“Alright,” Jay straightened his beanie and wiped the dust off his sweatshirt. “Have a safe flight!” he said, before running off again.
“Flight?” you muttered as you checked the files. Amongst all the papers, the one that was in the front was a printed e-ticket, a flight to New York departing in seven hours.
Tumblr media
One year later
I got you, I promise Let me be honest
For the first couple of months you were in New York, everything felt magically easy for you. It took you no time to get a job and settle at a place that was relatively a reach for common New Yorkers. Your career somehow sped up and you were running the fashion division in a local but well-known magazine. You were making friends here and there, networking with a lot of people who would lead you to meet famous people and collaborate with celebrities you never knew you had a chance to meet.
Until one fine day, you felt a slight pain in your chest.
“Unnie, are you feeling unwell?”
Yoon, the company’s photographer, noticed you sitting on the bar stool, clutching your chest.
“I think it’s just my asthma. I’m gonna go grab my Ventolin,” you reassured Yoon before leaving the studio.
As you exited to the hallway, two of your coworkers immediately started walking by both sides.
“Y/N, schedule,” said Julian, handing over an iPad.
“Do you think these photos are okay?” On her left, Robin, was holding another iPad and scrolling through different photos from the shoot.
Your pain was growing even more as you reached the end of the hallway. “Hold on,” you held up one hand and Julian and Robin both stopped chirping.
“Are you okay?” asked Robin.
“You must be nervous about the upcoming shoot,” said Julian.
“What shoot?”
“That is exactly what I am here for. Schedule, Y/N,” Julian tapped the iPad in your hand and pointed to an area that read ‘PJS shoot’.
Julian and Robin looked at each other and smiled. “Isn’t it amazing? The founder of PJS Collection himself is coming over for New York Fashion Week and our magazine is one of the first to schedule a shoot and an interview with him. Dope, right?”
You looked at Robin with a confused face. “PJS Collection?”
“Park Jong Seong. Oh my God, Y/N, you work in fashion. How do you not know him?” Julian was starting to show sass.
And again, you felt the unbearable pain in your chest.
“Great, okay, you know what? I feel really under the weather right now so please bombard me with questions in about… two more hours, okay?”
And with that you disappeared into your office, leaving Julian and Robin looking at each other with their iPads in their hands.
---
“Maybe you should see a doctor?”
Isa put her cup of tea down as she fixed her gaze on you. It was in the afternoon, and you had time to kill before meeting with a client.
“I don’t know, it comes and goes. I’d like to think it’s nothing serious,” you brought your hand to your chest to make sure you weren’t feeling anything at that moment.
“Well, you did use the word ‘unbearable’, so that seems pretty serious to me,” Isa looked really concerned, but you waved her off.
“It’s the type of unbearable that becomes bearable, like, I don’t know, period cramps?”
Isa chuckled and proceeded to ask you a whole lot of questions about your job. After talking and refilling their pot of tea two times, an hour passed by. Isa checked her phone and found several chats from some people.
“Listen, good luck with the project. I gotta go see Yoon now,” said Isa, squeezing your hands and sliding in a couple of bills for her share of the tea time snacks.
“Thanks, Isa,” you smiled and waved goodbye, setting your eyes on Isa until she left the place. You sighed and stirred your cup of tea. You didn’t believe it at first, but as time went by, you felt your heart beating faster.
“I really need to schedule a check-up,” you murmured to yourself as you reached for your phone.
“Miss L/N?”
You almost lost your grip on your phone when you heard the voice behind you. You turned around and almost clutched your chest again if not for your gesture to shake hands with the person in front of you. The handshake lasted for a second, but you felt a flashback that was vivid if only it lasted a bit longer.
“Mr. Park, I presume?” you tried not to waver at the images in your head.
“Just Jay, please,” Jay’s eyes disappeared behind his smile. You could almost hear your chest pounding.
“Have a seat, Jay,” you welcomed your client warmly, trying to dismiss the pain. Maybe if I don’t think about it, I won’t feel it.
“Can I just say,” Jay said immediately after he sat down and thanked the waiter for bringing a new set of cups. “You look oddly familiar.”
You frowned as you poured tea into your own cup. “That’s strange.” I bet my reaction is more abnormal.
“Or maybe you look like someone I used to know… wait, was that offensive? I am so sorry,” Jay started babbling apologies and excuses and you found it weirdly adorable.
“No, it’s okay, I get that a lot. It’s a pleasure to be working with you! I found out your line is quickly getting recognition from where you come from?”
Jay smiled proudly, but was humble. “Yes, it is, thank you for saying that.”
You noticed that you couldn’t feel the pain as long as you continued to listen to Jay’s voice, so that was exactly what you did.
“Could you tell me more about the concept you’re going for in fashion week?”
---
You made your way through Central Park, trying to find out where exactly Jay was waiting for you. He mentioned that he wanted ‘to make it more fun’ and that he thought it was ‘cute’ to make you search for him. But he said it all through chat and proceeded to update his Instagram story which spoiled the hiding place. You almost wanted to type FOOL into his DMs.
“How did you know I’m here?” Jay stood up from the bench he was sitting on, eyes widened in amazement.
“I follow you on Instagram, genius,” you chuckled as you saw the sudden realization creeping up on Jay’s face. “You look great.”
Jay smiled. It was so typical of you – completely slandering him one second and showering him with compliments right after. Jay thought it was not normal to get all giddy from a compliment on a first date; technically you have been meeting several times since fashion week, but only now agreeing on calling this hang-out a ‘date’.
“I dressed up so you can take a picture for my ToJays Fashion collection,” said Jay, matter-of-fact-ly.
You pouted. “Is that why you wanted to hang out with me? So you can have a free professional photographer?”
Jay had his hands up. “Hey, your words, not mine.”
You scoffed and proceeded to walk away. Jay quickly caught up with you and you chatted as you both strolled around the park.
At this point, you were used to the abnormal feeling in your chest. You had associated it with Jay, and you thought of it as a good feeling. You forced yourself to believe that if other people felt butterflies in their stomachs, then you would feel a set of dumbbells on your chest whenever you meet a person you potentially like.
And you liked Jay a lot.
The two of you made your way past the lake, walking down the path between green fields and people sprawled on them, enjoying the beautiful weather. Sometimes your hands would brush against one another, and it bothered you not because you didn’t want to touch Jay, but because you were constantly having flashbacks. And this time, it became more vivid.
“Y/N.”
Jay decided to call on you once he noticed you staring blankly at the path in front of you.
“Are you tired? Do you want to sit down?”
You figured it was best to follow Jay’s words and as you both sat down, you moved closer towards Jay and rested your head on his shoulder.
“Do you mind?” you asked. Jay shook his head and smiled.
“You know we can always go to a coffee shop, or a bookstore, if walking around is too tiring for you?” Jay’s voice sounded even deeper now that you had your head on his shoulder.
You didn’t answer. Jay started feeling very concerned.
“Are you sure you’re alright?” asked Jay. His tone softened. Your heart ached.
“I’m al—“
You couldn’t finish your sentence because Jay intertwined his fingers with yours. You didn’t let go even after several seconds, and you started to close your eyes.
That’s when everything came back to your memories.
Jay’s cry, his laughter when he was little. All the episodes where he was sulking in his room, having his mother coax him out of bed.
When Jay turned seventeen, and all his friends gave him a surprise as you watched from outside of class, and on the same day his first love broke his heart.
When they erased your memory and you bumped into him right after, unaware that Jay was actually rushing to the place you were supposed to meet.
That one particular night at the playground when you wore his cap and realized for the first time that you were in love with the boy you were supposed to guard.
Your head jerked up as you let go of Jay’s hand, and you brought your hand to your chest. You stood up slowly and turned to Jay.
Jay had his head down. He moved his fingers, the same fingers that were intertwined with yours just seconds ago. When he looked up, you knew that he remembered, too.
“Y/N…”
Jay stood up straight and faced you. You weren’t sure how to react, or what to say. Was it weird that you are now together miles away from home? Was it appropriate, knowing the history that you have? Does he love you back?
“You were always there for me.”
Jay looked you in the eyes. Your brown eyes were showing a hint of gold with the reflection of the sun. You blinked as you felt your eyes glistening, starting to feel the warmth of your tears. You brought your hands up to cover your face. To avoid seeing you cry, Jay pulled you into his embrace. As he wrapped his arms around you, he whispered.
“And now I can be here for you, too.”
You brought your hands around Jay’s neck as he hugged you tight. The pain was gone now. The flashbacks disappeared too, replaced with vivid memories. Jay smiled as he buried his face in your neck.
“Why didn’t you tell me back then?” He asked as he pulled away to see you, but not taking his arms away from your waist.
“I wasn’t supposed to.”
“Is it okay now?” asked Jay.
You nodded and smiled.
“Are you going to leave again?” Jay’s tone changed and became mellow.
You shook your head. “Not unless I find someone better, but I doubt that.”
Jay laughed softly and ran his fingers through your hair. “Oh, one more thing.”
You tilted your head, a gesture of asking.
“How old are you now?”
You chuckled and hit Jay’s shoulder gently. “I’m 25.”
“Great. Still a noona to me,” Jay leaned in to plant a kiss on your forehead before pulling you in for another giant hug, and silencing your complaints.

I reread your “you deserve better” fic and also watched the mv you linked to it and it’s so bittersweet like omg 😭😭🙏🏼
it's so good right! (the MV), it's been years and I can't stop thinking about it... but I also watched Hyolyn's new MV yesterday and the ending is quite similar! gave me a chuckle

just read your deserved better and oh my god either I'm dumb or you did it a great job with the plot twist because I wasn't expecting the ending even though I was having a few questions while reading like how tf was heeseung okay with yn having a male roommate and ohmygod,, after reading and taking a few moments to register it, I scrolled up and saw the header properly and then I read the fic again and the signs were there but oh my god I loved it so much???
first of all hi, and thank you! did you get a chance to watch the MV I linked in the author's note? your reaction is exactly the same as mine when I watched that MV, so honestly, all credits go there.
however in the MV I feel like it was easier to portray since everything is visual, and it was only 2-3 minutes long, so I did have quite a hard time putting it all into written format.
love that you went back to the header and also reread it 😄 the signs really were there, huh? like how Jay speaks but yn never answers
anyway thank you for dropping by the ask box! appreciate a lot and thank you for reading 💖

Lift up your head, what is this makeup? Put down your hand, did you cry again? How many times do I have to tell you, he’s not the one
It took several knocks for you to finally open the door. Jay noticed the strands of hair covering your face, and in an instant, he knew you must have been crying again. Before entering the house, he scraped his feet on the mat and pushed the door shut.
“What happened?”
There were books all over the place. Fallen stuff, a messy bed. Even the dog food was spilled. The most clueless person would know that a fight had happened there.
You sat down on the floor, leaning your back on your bed. You looked like you felt awful. Jay knew better than to just ask you a series of questions, so he walked up to you, sat down, and rested his head on your shoulder. It seemed that you got irritated with the sound of his breath because you started chuckling and then covering his mouth before ruffling his head.
If I could give her a tighter hug, I would, Jay thought to himself.
---
After you started dating him, have you ever thought you were happy? How special does he treat you? You are only a decoration to him He doesn’t even care about your feelings, your scars and your dreams
When you started tidying up, Jay decided to get out of your way. It had been a habit, almost. Ever since you started being roommates, he noticed that cleaning and tidying were activities that were somewhat therapeutic for you. Watching you walk from one edge of the room to another, picking up stuff, Jay walked towards the kitchen.
“Hey, feeling better?” Jay asked as you finally appeared.
You gave him a warm smile and then a hug. Jay hoped it would make you feel as good as he did.
“I’m sorry for ignoring you. You must be hungry.”
You reached onto the top counter and Jay just sat there, observing. You were not the best cook, but you knew how to make a decent meal. While you were preparing the ingredients, Jay purposefully knocked over stuff and made a huge mess, so that you would pay attention to him. It sounded a little pathetic, but he really needed to see another smile on your face.
“Oops,” Jay said under his breath, as he knocked down a box of cherry tomatoes.
You looked over and frowned. Before you could pick the tomatoes up, he nudged you and you both got into a friendly wrestle. You were laughing and at times Jay couldn’t stop making funny noises either.
Jay sat by the counter as you looked him in the eyes, again ruffling his head. You didn’t say anything, but your eyes sparkled with gratitude. You planted a kiss on his forehead.
---
You’re too good for a guy like that You’re too beautiful to be crying every day You need to be loved, you have that right A guy who’ll treat you special, he’s here right now
Jay was sitting by the nook when Heeseung came in, calling for you. Jay didn’t turn around, but he heard your steps walking to the door and when he did look in your direction, you were wrapped in Heeseung’s embrace. He had no chance to look away because Heeseung’s eyes caught his.
“Hey, man, how are you doing?”
Heeseung walked up to Jay and raised his hand up for a high five. Jay was already filled with loathe, knowing what the man in front of him had done to you, so he didn’t respond. Heeseung immediately took offense.
“The hell is your problem?” He raised his voice and you came rushing towards the two of them.
“Heeseung, leave him alone,” you said calmly, dragging Heeseung away from Jay.
As you both left the house, Jay sat back on the nook, with a fidget toy in his hand, staring outside the window.
---
Even though you’re hurting, you keep going back to the first place You’re not a fool, so it makes me mad If he makes you cry one more time I don’t know what I will do, I won’t hold back
Having to juggle two part time jobs at once made the house very quiet. Usually, you and Jay would spend time together watching movies, or cooking in the kitchen, basically just fooling around, but lately you had been very busy.
The sound of the front door opening woke Jay up from his nap. He was at the other side of the room. He took a few steps forward to check if it was you, but as he predicted, it was Heeseung. He would usually let himself in whenever you are not around, and just wait here until you come home.
Tonight, however, was different.
Jay had no intention of getting into a fight, and he couldn’t see clearly, but there was another girl with him. He knew it wasn’t you.
This was when the dilemma kicked in. On one hand, Jay felt like he was obligated to let you know. But how? How can he possibly tell you? While contemplating on what to do, the front door opened again. Heeseung and the other girl were making out on the couch when you walked in on them. At least this way, Jay didn’t have to figure out how to let you down easy.
The other girl quickly left, and you and Heeseung started screaming words at each other. It was killing Jay not to show up and just teach that asshole a lesson. After hearing a glass shatter, the front door slammed shut.
Jay walked out of the other room and saw you on the floor, sobbing. It had happened way too many times by now, that the sight of it doesn’t confuse him anymore. But it hurts the same.
“Y/N,” Jay whispered as he walked towards you. He stopped by your side but didn’t touch you.
Jay looked around and noticed his fidget toy sitting on the end table. You had your head on your knees, legs pulled close to your chest, and your fingers were trembling. Jay sat next to you, put the fidget toy in your hand, and let you cry.
As soon as you felt the warmth of Jay’s body beside you, you reached out and hugged him. Jay let himself get soaked with the tears of the only girl he loved.
---
You’re pretty enough You’re too beautiful to be getting hurt and crying I’ll help you escape from him I’ll make those tears dry from your beautiful eyes
You fell asleep on the floor, and you didn’t even bother to get up and get proper rest. Jay did not have the heart to leave you there, but he couldn’t just pick you up, so he stayed by your side.
As morning came, you woke up with a blanket covering her, and you noticed Jay already awake, sitting in front of her.
“You need some fresh air,” said Jay.
You did not reply. You sat up and picked up the blanket. Jay reached towards your coat that was hanging on the chair behind him, and he brought it over to her.
“Let’s go. Walk with me?”
You took a deep breath as you let Jay help you stand up. You both walked past the huge standing mirror.
You stopped to put on your coat and fix your hair, and Jay stood beside you, looking at his reflection in the mirror.
His wagging tail.
His droopy ears.
His golden fur.
“You’re such a good boy,” you finally spoke, reaching down towards your dog and giving him a kiss on his head. “Let’s go, Jay.”

you've got me wrapped around your little finger // jay (ENHYPEN)

summary: you and Jay have been friends forever, and it took you one slow dance, and a couple glasses of wine, to finally realize that you might have harbored feelings of love for him.

author's note: this account is in need of an update, so have this little treat! I might be making more of these little one-shots based on old songs since I already have a whole playlist...
if you feel like this one feels a little different than my other works, it's because this is an old fic that I edited. I made this one maybe in 2016? for a different kpop idol. I've been thinking of reusing/recycling my old fics so I can post them to my accounts, and I hope you don't mind! (the fics haven't been posted elsewhere, so in a way I really am releasing it for the first time)
the song for this fic is this version by Beth Rowley, specifically this version. it's an OST for the movie An Education, but that's totally unrelated.
anyway, hope you enjoy this one!

The lights shone on the wet pavement as the car halted to a stop. The heavy rain that poured down for more than two hours was still persistent making the whole earth soaking wet. You opened the car door with a blazer over your head.
“Thank you, Sir! Jay, quickly!”
Another figure hopped off the car, not forgetting to thank the driver and closing the door shut. Jay took a side and held the blazer with you, running towards the porch of your apartment.
“Your poor jacket,” you said once you were inside. You gave the blazer some pats, attempting to clean it from water droplets.
“It’s fine. It’s not like it’s Armani,” Jay checked his reflection in the mirror beside the doorway, ruffling his hair.
You squinted. “It’s not? It’s really good quality.”
“It’s H&M. Do you really think I would wear an expensive suit to a party with a lot of careless people who can spill wine on you anytime?” Jay took the blazer from you and gave it a good shake. “This will do.”
“Thank God we are dressed up enough for the Uber guy to take us in and not scold us for being in the rain, right?” You climbed up the stairs with Jay following you from behind.
Jay nodded. “If I were wearing my usual clothes I don’t think he’d let us in. He’ll probably think I’m homeless.”
“I would disagree,” you murmured.
“Sorry?”
“I’m starving,” you said, grinning awkwardly.
“Then hurry up and get us inside your apartment and I’ll fix you something up,” Jay nudged you so you can move faster. You struggled with the keys before finally opening the door.
“My good man,” you said, inviting Jay in. Jay walked past you while blowing your bangs. You shrieked a little and quickly fixed your hair.
Jay hung his blazer on the coat hanger by the door and threw himself on the sofa. You waddled and sat down beside him, bending over to take off your high heels.
“No wonder you looked so tall,” Jay peered over at your shoes. “You could literally sprain your ankle if you trip while wearing those, right?”
“Please don’t say stuff that will make me dread wearing heels,” you sighed. “Beauty is pain. High heels look nice. I will sacrifice and put myself in pain in order to look nice.”
Jay nodded. “It does accentuate your legs—OUCH!”
You had slapped Jay's forearm before he could even finish his sentence. Jay chuckled and went on.
“I don’t even know why I decided to go to such a fancy party like that,” Jay leaned on the sofa and stared at the ceiling. “And to bring you with me.”
You made an ugly noise. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“I thought I’d be bringing one of the guys, but they were all busy—“
“So I’m your backup plan.”
“No, what I meant was—“
“You regret taking me?”
“Can you let me finish?” Jay threw a death stare which made you zip up and continued to listen. “The party was pretty boring. I should have taken to you somewhere more fun.”
You nodded. “Which is why we’re back home early. I feel bad, though. I bought this pretty dress and I only got to wear it for an hour.”
You and Jay continued to stare at the ceiling.
“We left so early that we didn’t even get to the dance part,” Jay sighed and ruffled his hair. You turned your head to look at him.
“What were you expecting?”
“A dance with you, of course,” Jay still had his eyes glued to the ceiling. Your eyebrows furrowed.
“You know I can’t dance,” you said as you sat up and stretched out your arms.
Jay stood up and walked over to your laptop that was on the desk, open and untouched. He typed and clicked here and there and suddenly the sound system in your room turned on, playing Beth Rowley’s You’ve Got Me Wrapped Around Your Little Finger.
“Good choice,” you mumbled as you started to close your eyes. Jay walked over to you and reached out his hand. “What?” you asked nonchalantly.
“Dance with me,” Jay’s voice was stern and he looked serious. You laughed.
“I will if I’m drunk,” you refused before you went back to close your eyes. Jay set the song on repeat and walked over to the kitchen. After spending so much time looking around, you just had to finally ask.
“What are you doing?”
“You have wine, don’t you?” Jay opened the kitchen counters one by one. “If drinking will make you dance then let’s open one.”
You stood up, kicked away your high heels, and waddled over to where Jay was. You tiptoed a bit to reach the top kitchen counter and pulled out a bottle of wine.
“That looks too fancy,” said Jay, checking the bottle out. “Isn’t there a cheaper one?”
You shook your head. “It’s my only bottle.”
Jay scrunched his nose, unsure. “And you’re willing to open it?”
“Might as well,” you shrugged. Jay grabbed the corkscrew laying on the counter and skillfully popped open the bottle. You were subtly impressed.
“I don’t have proper wine glasses,” you peered into the drawers where you kept your mugs. “These will do, I guess.”
Jay looked at the Ryan-shaped mug and the Cony glass that you took out. He burst out laughing while pointing at the Ryan mug.
“I know someone who would love this,” he said as he poured the wine into it. You decided to keep quiet about how it was your ex-boyfriend who gave it to you as a random gift.
After pouring the wine and clinking your mugs together, and two to three more mugs later, you were already tipsy. Jay was still looking sober, and he wouldn’t shut up about how your tolerance was so low.
Your laptop then died of low battery about two glasses ago. Jay set his empty mug on the coffee table and plugged in your laptop to play the same song again. As the intro played, he walked over to you and reached out his hand one more time.
“Fine,” you sighed. “But I’m bringing this,” you raised your mug, still half full. Jay shrugged and pulled you up from the sofa.
You've got me wrapped around your little finger If this is love, it's everything I hoped it would be You've got me wrapped around your little finger You will see, by my words just how much you mean to me
Jay was fully aware of how unskilled you were at dancing, so he kept it lowkey and just took you for a slow dance. You had one hand around Jay's neck, the other close to your chest, still holding the mug. Jay placed both his hand’s comfortably around your waist.
“Is this dancing?” you asked. Your voice was starting to become hoarse. Jay wasn’t sure if it was the wine or just you being tired, but you sounded a thousand times more attractive.
You look a thousand times more attractive too, he thought.
“For you, I think you could get away with calling this slow dancing. I’m just worried you might break something if I spin you around.”
With that being said, you spontaneously spun yourself around and landed back into Jay's embrace. He laughed wholeheartedly.
“Wasn’t expecting you to do that,” he said. “Spin again.”
This time Jay took the mug out of your hand and hold your other hand to properly help you turn. Your flushed cheeks became even redder with your laughter.
When we kiss, it's as if our lips agree that we were meant to be When we touch, it's too much Oh the sparks that fly, are lighting up the sky
The song continued and you were already dizzy from spinning just two times. Jay decided it was best not to give your mug back. After mumbling-complaining for a while, you gave up and went back to slow dancing.
Both of you weren’t really paying attention to the lyrics, but somewhere along the song your eyes locked. Without blinking, you moved your head closer so that your nose touched Jay's. There was a brief silence before Jay finally closed the distance between your lips and you shared your very first kiss ever. Sweet, sour from the wine, and definitely warm.
You gasped and broke the kiss as you felt liquid seeping through your dress. Jay pulled back. His eyes widened at the huge red stain starting to form on your precious new dress.
“Jay…”
“I am so sorry, do you want me to—“
“Leave it to someone sober to spill wine on you, huh?” you gave Jay a little punch as you chuckled. Jay's face was already pale from the paranoia of being scolded by you. Especially after a kiss.
“I’m gonna go clean this up,” you said, swiftly making your way to the bathroom. When Jay wasn’t looking, you grabbed your phone and rushed away.
---
“Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god,” you whispered as you looked at yourself in the mirror, cheeks still flushed and red. Either from the wine, or the kiss. Or both.
You unlocked your phone and opened the group chat with your two friends, which already had 145 unread chats.
You: MAYDAY Isa: there she is Yoon: we were wondering where you were You: Jay and I just kissed
Isa and Yoon both started typing at the same time.
Isa: WHAT????? Yoon: YOU DID NOT! Isa: HOW WAS IT Isa: TELL US EVERYTHING Isa: SPILL IT Yoon: UNNIE YOU DID NOT!
After spending a couple of minutes too long, you heard a knock on the door.
“Are you okay in there?” asked Jay from the other side.
“I’m okay,” you shouted back. “The stain is just too hard to remove.”
Not hearing a reply, you went back to the chat. “Maybe I shouldn’t have?” you asked.
Isa: hey, the heart wants what the heart wants Yoon: we’re in no place to judge but you go, unnie!
Meanwhile, Jay took the time to check on his own group chat with his boys. He announced the same thing and all three of his friends freaked out.
Sunghoon: You finally did? Jake: How was it? Heeseung: Tongue?
Jay had to tell the boys to chill before explaining and finally ending his rant with a simple “I should have kissed her sooner.”
He didn’t have a chance to reply to the responses since you suddenly came out of the bathroom, helplessly walking back to the couch with the red stain on your dress only faintly cleaned.
Jay slipped his phone into his pockets real quick while you left yours in the bathroom. You both exchanged a silent, long, but meaningful glance at each other. Jay had to break the ice.
“I guess you have to take it to the laundry then?”
You smiled awkwardly. “Yeah.”
You both shifted your gaze somewhere else before looking at each other again. The song was still on repeat.
“Do you… want to…”
“Dance again?” you cut him off. Jay wasn’t quick enough to offer his hand because you instantly wrapped yours around his neck again. With a smile, Jay moved closer until your foreheads touched.
If this is love, it's everything that i've been dreaming of

at the cinemas with enhypen
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heeseung - Wakanda Forever
He’s been watching all the Marvel movies with his friends before he started dating you.
Since then, you’re always his first choice to take to watch any new release.
You ask him about “the second Black Panther movie” and he corrected you by saying “it’s called Wakanda Forever” /eyeroll
“Okay, King,” you replied.
Doesn’t even let you get snacks or drinks because he wants you to focus.
Questions your loyalty when you start falling for the fishman.
Gets choked up during the scenes when it’s silent and a tribute to Chadwick Boseman.
You hold his hand in an effort to comfort him and he squeezes your hand.
Not even five minutes after the movie, he’s already asking you to watch it again next week.
Embarrassingly says goodbye to you by doing the Wakanda forever gesture.
Tumblr media
Jay – The Menu
You’ve mentioned repeatedly how you wanted to watch The Menu because you saw the trailer.
Hesitates at first, but then agrees once he sees that Anya Taylor-Joy starts in it.
The beginning of the movie got you both questioning your comprehension skills.
“Oh, are those her parents?” “Are they actually dating?” “What’s with those three dudes?” are some of the questions he would carefully mumble to you.
Gets immersed whenever the scene shows the details of each dish since he loves cooking so much.
Flinches whenever the chef claps his hands for attention. (You flinched too.)
“What genre is this movie actually?” He asks when you begin closing both your ears and slowly facing away from the screen, afraid of a jump scare.
You were both in awe and left speechless once the movie ends.
You go to a café after to sit and have a drink and discuss all the symbolisms and plot of the movie.
“I don’t remember what they ate, Jay.” / “You have to remember, Y/N! I even remembered that the fish was halibut and NOT cod!”
Tumblr media
Sunghoon – Glass Onion
You made Sunghoon watch Knives Out on Netflix before actually going to the cinemas to watch the sequel.
Initially seemed disinterested but became amused once he heard Daniel Craig’s accent.
Attempts to imitate the accent as soon as he meets up with you at the cinema.
“My God, Y/N, this dress on you---” / “Stop it.”
Before the movie even starts, he makes a bet with you and whoever guesses the murderer right gets treated to dinner.
Changes his answer three times throughout the movie.
Gasps at the exact same time as you do once you both realize something.
Synchronized gasps again when the movie reveals a plot twist.
Both of you end up guessing the wrong culprit.
You then have fun discussing the movie while having dinner, splitting the bill at the end.
Tumblr media
Jake – The Greatest Showman
You knew you wanted to go on a date at the cinemas, but neither of you knew what you wanted to see yet.
Once he sees the poster, he becomes excited and asks you to just watch this movie “because Hugh Jackman is in it and he's an Aussie like me.”
He holds the popcorn the whole time, almost hogging it and not letting you eat.
Bops his head whenever any of the characters break into a song.
“Zendaya is so pretty.” / “Yeah, you wish you were Zac.”
Holds a hand over his chest during This is Me because of how touching it was.
When Jenny Lind appears, he says he doesn’t trust her because she wears red lipstick and all villains wear red lipstick.
Catches you tearing up during Never Enough, so he coos at you and intertwines his fingers with yours.
Both of you remain immersed throughout the rest of the movie.
You walk out of the cinemas with a huge grin on your face, excited to look up the soundtrack so you can listen to them together.
Tumblr media
Sunoo – Avatar: The Way of Water
He has been actually, genuinely waiting for this moment.
“Y/N, you don’t know how excited I am for this sequel!” / “You were 6 when the first movie came out.”
Initially wants to watch it in 4D, but he knows how much you hate the glasses, so he gives in and says he can rewatch it later.
Because you both took too long having lunch, you missed the first few minutes of the movie.
“Wait, Kiri is adopted?” / “I know as much as you do, Sunoo.”
Lets you put the popcorn on his lap and cutely uses the lid to get some for himself.
Forgets to chew whenever the scene shows something breathtaking.
Sympathizes with the alienated whale, holds his breath whenever there is an underwater scene.
His lips tremble when it shows someone dying towards the end.
“Promise to watch the next sequels with me again, Y/N!”
Tumblr media
Jungwon - Zootopia
Watching animated movies with him is like a routine for the two of you.
When Zootopia came out, you both texted each other at the same time.
Immediately chooses the fox’s side while you sympathize with the bunny.
“Wait, you kinda look like Judy Hopps, Won.” / “Ha-ha-ha.”
Keeps his laughter to small giggles and chuckles while you cackle.
Loses it when it came to the DMV sloth scene.
Mentions that the song sung by Gazelle sounds like Shakira. (it is Shakira)
Comments on how all the voices suit the animals really well.
Is not fazed at the huge plot twist in the movie.
Completely loses it again at the last scene with the sloth (again).
Tumblr media
Ni-ki – Jumanji: The Next Level
Has an odd admiration for Dwayne Johnson, will watch anything with him in it.
Claims he enjoyed the first movie, so he was happy when you asked him to watch the sequel.
Immediately asks you what happens in the first movie, mentioning how he has forgotten about it already.
Completely amused at how The Rock was possessed by an old man.
“I’d actually play Jumanji if I had the game.” / “Riki, no. What would I do without you?”
Cackles when Spencer shows up in Awkwafina’s body.
“Look, he can talk to animals, like you.” / “Riki, I swear to God…”
Says how the villain in this sequel looks familiar but can’t seem to know from where.
Almost yelled out Jumanjiiii! at the climax if you did not hold him back.
“OH, HE’S THE HOUND FROM GAME OF THRONES.” / “You watch Game of Thrones???”

when it's raining with enhypen
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heeseung
You were waiting for Heeseung to finish his practice, so you were indoors all the time. When he was done and you head down to the lobby, it’s raining hard.
You look at each other for several seconds before cracking up because you are both speechless.
You initially planned to go for a picnic by the river but that idea is now washed down the drain (lol)
Heeseung begins searching on his phone, trying to come up with indoor date ideas.
While waiting for an idea, you head to the café on the building’s ground floor to grab a latte.
Ends up just talking for hours with him there.
His phone is now on the table with several tabs open, but he’s looking at your phone as you show him funny TikToks that you bookmarked.
Time flies and when you both realize the rain has stopped, you leave to get dinner together.
Tumblr media
Jay
Is staring out the window of your apartment, commenting on the dark clouds.
You both already decided to stay at home for the day, so you didn’t mind even if it starts raining.
However, it was more than just rain—it’s a storm. Jay flinches every time a lightning strikes, and you follow suit, scrunching your face and closing your eyes whenever the thunder follows.
He teases you for being scared, and you are not having it.
You leave the living room to grab a camera from your bedroom. When he isn’t looking, you take a picture of him with the flash and he flinches.
You tease him back calling him a flincher.
He presses his lips together forming that iconic bread smile and now you feel bad.
He then proposes to just play a video game together to distract you both from the chaotic storm outside.
Tumblr media
Sunghoon
You promised to meet him at the mall for some lunch and light shopping together.
He arrives late and slightly wet, droplets of rain still visible on his neatly styled hair (which miraculously did not get ruined).
You were about to scold him for not bringing an umbrella but you feel bad because he went out anyway despite the rain.
He notices that you are wearing the jacket that he left in your house, and then asks begs you to give it back to him so he can wear it.
You have been indoors for most of the time so you weren’t cold anymore, so you do as he asked.
Turns out it was an excuse so he could buy you a new jacket.
You look up at him with puppy eyes and he was just smugly smirking saying ‘don’t mention it.’
He ends up mentioning it all the time, bringing it up at any chance he can get. (“How’s that new jacket I got you?”) (“Remember the jacket I got you?”)
Tumblr media
Jake
Does not care if it rains or shines as long as he gets to see you.
Quickly changes the date course once it starts raining, coming up with a plan B already in mind.
Takes you to this leather workshop where you can make airpod cases together.
Completely forgets that you don’t even own a pair of airpods.
You make something entirely different and you both enjoyed the workshop.
Takes you to a restaurant nearby for late lunch, walking under the umbrella with you.
The umbrella is huge but he still pulled you close to him so you don’t get even a drop of rain on your body.
Becomes giddy at the sight of samgyupsal and you are just grateful that the date still went so well.
Tumblr media
Sunoo
Actually gets excited that it is raining. Texts you and begs you not to cancel the date.
You both pick a café with huge windows and you sit at a table near a window, watching the rainfall.
He creates a game where you pick a raindrop each and see which one reaches the bottom first.
Your raindrop keeps winning and he becomes lowkey irritated and then switches the activity to taking aesthetic photos of each other.
You take lots of pictures of him just staring out the window and it looked like a photoshoot.
He then takes pictures of you and they look like something out of Pinterest.
You spend the rest of your time just editing your photos together before posting them.
When the rain stops, he immediately asks to go to a different place to have early dinner with you.
Tumblr media
Jungwon
Initially wants to reschedule your date, but then feels bad about it once you ask why? Why? Why?
Bombards you with texts telling you to dress warmly, wear waterproof shoes, and bring an umbrella.
When you meet him at the station you greet him with a ‘hi, Mom.’
Clearly annoyed when you see his smile but then he gives you his arm for you to link yours with.
The rain is not heavy, so you both take a chill stroll down the park.
You found streetfood sellers and end up snacking a lot, giggling when you see his mouth tainted with tteokpokki sauce.
You continued to walk around the park but then the rain started to pour down heavier than before.
You both settled at a small ice cream shop, with Jungwon reluctantly following you after giving a lecture on how you shouldn’t be eating cold stuff when it’s raining.
Tumblr media
Ni-ki
Proposes to have a water gun fight in the rain, and you thought he was kidding.
He was not.
You come prepared, with a raincoat and boots that reach up to your knees, as well as a transparent umbrella.
He comes wearing a white tee and black joggers and sandals. And two water guns in his hands.
He scoffs at your attire and hands you a water gun, but before you can hold it properly he was already attacking you with his.
You scream his name as you fumbled with your gun and noticed that he purposely did not fill your gun with water yet.
You run to a tap nearby and quickly fill up your gun and started shooting at him mercilessly.
He became drenched in an instant, from the rain and from your attacks, and before his shirt becomes even more see-through, you both decide it’s a tie.

shopping with enhypen
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heeseung
Takes him ages to get ready, just like how it took you ages to convince him to come shop with you.
When you’ve arrived at your destination, he almost whines from not wanting to go in with you.
Ends up going in anyway because you demanded.
Surprisingly responsive when it comes to asking for his opinion.
Then you take too long to browse and he excuses himself to go to the restrooms.
Never comes back.
When you’re done, you spot him waiting for you with a sheepish smile on his face.
Promises to treat you dessert for lowkey abandoning you while shopping.
Tumblr media
Jay
Is delighted that you finally asked him to tag along shopping for clothes.
On the way, he asks you if you’re getting a whole outfit or just buying capsule pieces.
Insists that you try on certain pieces instead of eyeballing it and assuming they would fit.
Gasses you up whenever you walk out the fitting room.
When you take too long, he waits patiently by your side, sometimes scrolling his phone.
Sometimes window-shops clothes for himself too.
When you’re about to pay, he walks to the register with you and beats you when it comes to handing over a card to pay for it.
The shopping bag never lands on your hands either, since he’d be the one carrying it around voluntarily.
Tumblr media
Sunghoon
Sulks in the beginning but goes anyway, even dressed up neat for the outing.
Lets you drag him everywhere, even to the undergarments section.
Whenever you hold a dress up or any other type of clothing, he approves, but then comes up with a better option.
Almost all the time, until it makes you question your own sense.
Asks you if you could take him shopping after you’re done, since he suddenly wanted to get new items too.
Pays for the items he picked for you, claiming that you deserve them.
Meets a mannequin that is dressed exactly like him and pouts when you tease him for it.
Splits carrying the shopping bag with you, so he can hold some bags in one hand while the other is holding yours.
Tumblr media
Jake
Is somehow more excited than you because you’ve never taken him shopping with you before.
Walks by your side all the time while his eyes scan the whole place.
Asks a bunch of questions, from dumb questions to even dumber questions (like, if Velcro was invented first, do you think there’d be zippers?)
A whole hype man from the way he reacts to every clothing item you present to him.
Sometimes reacts too loud, it’s embarrassing for you.
Waits patiently while you pay at the register.
Instantly takes your hand in his when you’re done.
Drags you to a café to chill and have cake because he’s hungry after all the shopping.
Tumblr media
Sunoo
He’s the one who actually proposed the idea of shopping together.
You two would go to every store and really browse the stuff that you like.
You lose him in the men’s section because he is in the women’s section looking for you.
Uncontrollable laughter once you both find each other.
Says yes to everything you choose and compliments you when you try it on.
When you’re done shopping for your stuff, he loses interest in shopping for himself, so you both go to the arcades instead.
You keep leaving your shopping bags unattended, so he keeps picking them up for you.
Promises to always go shopping together next time whenever he is free.
Tumblr media
Jungwon
Agrees to go shopping with you immediately after you ask.
But then on your way there, he realizes he actually has an errand to do.
Promises to find you in whichever store you are in once he is done.
Spots you browsing for clothes but seemingly so focused, he just doesn’t want to disturb you.
You send him mirror selfies from the fitting room to ask for his opinion, and he’s right outside the store replying to all of your texts.
Actually gives honest opinions and replies like a bot—instant.
When you’re done, you walk out of the store only to find him holding up two cups of latte, smiling as he asks “had fun shopping?”
Walks back home with you, linking arms, sipping on your lattes.
Tumblr media
Ni-ki
Hesitates at first but then realizes it’s the only way to spend time with you for that day.
Acts disinterested as you browse for clothes but secretly wonders how you will look like in them.
Whenever you ask for an opinion, he treats it like a yes-no question and either nods or shakes his head.
To make him more enthusiastic, you introduce the idea of shopping for him.
His face lights up and tries to politely reject it, even though he has been eyeing a jacket the whole time.
You notice it so when you pick up the jacket he just sighs in adoration.
Defends himself and swears that he did not go with you just to get treated.
You’re fine with it but demand him to pay for dinner, which he happily agrees to.

bejeweled // jay (ENHYPEN)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: jeweler!jay x fem!reader
summary: you visit Jay's studio to order a custom engagement ring, and Jay thinks he has fallen in love.
content: sfw
word count: ~1.7k
author’s note: this has nothing to do with Taylor Swift's song. LOL. the idea just came to me because I was scrolling TikTok and found this account so.... yeah. (lowkey stalked that man's account and idk why he just gives off jay vibes)
ANYWAY hope you enjoy this one! click here for more of my works <3
Tumblr media
Jay pouted as he fiddled with the 3D-printed model of a ring he was working on. The headphones on his ears canceled out every other noise, so he did not notice the figure approaching him slowly. The young man tapped Jay on the shoulder ever so slightly so as not to startle him, but Jay still flinched theatrically, making the headphones slide down to his neck.
“God damn it,” Jay muttered to himself.
Jake was giggling by the time he was finally noticed. “Sorry, mate. I really did try my best to be gentle.”
Jay groaned and stretched his arms to the side before setting his headphones on the desk in front of him. “What is it?”
“You’ve got a customer,” Jake said as he walked away.
Jay frowned before standing up and wiping his hands with a cloth. He then took a few steps away from his desk, entering the waiting room where you were calmly seated on the sofa. You noticed his presence and immediately put your phone away, smiling to greet him.
“Hi!” You stood up and extended your hand for him to shake. “It’s Jay, right? I’m Y/N.”
Jay thought people were just exaggerating, that they had watched way too many rom-coms when it comes to talking about love at first sight. Nobody could fall in love that fast, right? You really need to know somebody first before loving them. It was the only logical explanation. That was what he believed.
But that was before you visited his studio, before you stood there with your arm out, looking like you just woke up and put on the first dress you saw when you opened your wardrobe. Effortlessly beautiful. The way your hair was styled up in a neat bun, with strands of hair framing your face so well, Jay thought he was in the presence of a goddess.
“Hi, Y/N,” Jay replied, shaking your hand. He spoke with the deepest voice he could muster, somehow wanting to show you the best side of him. “How can I help you?”
“You were on my for-you-page as I was just scrolling TikTok, and I saw that you make custom jewelry,” you spoke politely. You then reached into your handbag to take out your iPad. “I was wondering if you could make a custom engagement ring.”
And just like that, the pink flowers and red hearts that were floating around you froze and turned to grey dust in Jay’s eyes. He was right, after all. Rom-coms are just movies. Things don’t magically happen. Love at first sight does not exist. Maybe not for him.
“I can make anything,” Jay replied to you, smiling. His remark came off sounding a little cocky, but he had abandoned his initial intention to protect his image since he knew he had zero chances with you. You were just a friendly, pretty customer to him now.
“I can see that from your profile,” you chuckled, admiring his confidence. You looked around his studio and saw displays of different jewelry, as well as sketches and pictures of custom jewelry framed on the wall.
Jay glanced at the way you were admiring his work. He smiled to himself before clearing his throat. “If you don’t mind stepping into the studio, I can show you options, and we can talk about details.”
“Sure.” You followed his steps and were met with a large room with tools you do not even know the name of and a desk with a computer setup larger than your brother had at home. “This place looks amazing.”
Jay pulled a chair from a table nearby to set in front of the computer for you. “Thanks,” he said before gesturing for you to sit.
As you sat down, he sat on his own chair beside you and began pulling up pictures on the monitor. You unlocked your iPad and held it towards him, showing him pictures of the mood board you had curated. Just like that, you and Jay ended up spending hours together, and you had to end the meeting because it was getting late. Since the request was quite complicated, you promised to make a visit regularly until your custom order is completed.
---
Jay did not know why he suggested meeting up at a café instead of his own studio. Maybe a part of him still wanted to deny the fact that you were taken, so meeting you somewhere else would then make it feel more natural and less transactional. He was fiddling with his Apple pencil and staring at his sketch when you pulled the chair in front of him, startling him again.
“You’re really jumpy, you know,” you smiled at him as you took your seat. Jay just grinned and pushed his hair back, placing the pencil on his ear while he gave you his iPad.
You both went straight into discussing the design, and you were surprised that Jay had even brought a 3D-printed model of the ring that you requested. You were even more impressed because it took him less than a week, which is weird because you knew he had a lot of other orders to take care of. In reality, Jay just wanted to put you first and get it over with so he did not have to see you too often and break his own heart.
After discussing business, Jay steered the conversation into absolutely anything else but the engagement. He asked more personal questions like your interests and other trivial things. He found out that you had a thing for one-time classes, like pottery-making and perfume workshops, and when he mentioned tufting, your eyes lit up.
“I’ve seen it on YouTube but I’ve never tried it,” you commented. “I usually go to classes alone, but since you said you know the owner, should we go together?”
It took everything in Jay to stop himself from saying yes right away. It isn’t right, he thought. You were to be married. He knew he wouldn’t be able to just hang out with you and just be friends. He already had friends. He didn’t need more.
“Sure,” Jay cleared his throat. “But maybe after I finish a couple of orders?”
You were sipping your drink, so you couldn’t utter a word as a response. You pressed your lips together and nodded enthusiastically, and Jay cursed himself for thinking that you were the cutest girl he had ever laid eyes on.
---
You visited Jay’s studio a couple more times because, for some reason, you just kept changing the design and making revisions here and there. When your order was finally completed, though, you arrived at his studio in all black, somehow mimicking the vibe of his place as well as his chic appearance.
“Your ring is ready, Princess,” Jay chirped as you entered his studio. After a couple of meetings and a lot of text messages, Jay decided to unironically call you a princess since that was what you were to him at this point. Gorgeous, kind, and unattainable.
You smiled widely and brought your fingers together in anticipation. At the same time, you watched as Jay took out a box from his drawer. He opened the box dramatically, and you gasped as if you had never seen the design before.
“Oh my God,” you whispered, hands over your mouth. “It’s breathtaking.”
You’re breathtaking, Jay thought.
“Do you want to try it on?” Jay asked, carefully taking the ring out.
“Yeah, why not. I’m pretty much the same size as my sister.”
Not wanting you to feel his sweaty hands, Jay wiped them on a small towel that was placed by his computer, but the sentence you uttered made him freeze. “I’m sorry, what?”
“My sister and I share clothes all the time. We have the same shoe size and everything. I bet our fingers are the same size too.”
Jay blinked a couple times, and you just laughed at how dorky he looked. “What’s the matter?” You asked with a chuckle.
“Why are you bringing up your sister all of a sudden?” Jay asked again. He was now afraid he might be sounding dumb.
“Because it’s her engagement ring?” You replied, sounding more like you were asking a question because now you were also confused.
Within several seconds of silence, Jay quickly backtracked to the first time you visited his studio. He remembered what you wore, how you smelled, and then he remembered what you said.
“I was wondering if you could make a custom engagement ring.”
You never mentioned who it was for. Jay just automatically assumed that the ring you wanted to order was for you. And because he is a hopeless, pathetic dorky romantic, he avoided discussing the subject during your meetings.
You weren’t getting engaged. Your sister was.
“Jay?” You tilted your head, getting increasingly concerned because of the prolonged silence. “Are you alright?”
“I am!” Jay half-yelled, completely snapping out of his train of thought. She’s not engaged!
You smiled with relief and raised one hand in front of you, wiggling your fingers. “Let me see it then,” you said enthusiastically.
The way Jay’s hands both trembled when he touched you was more than embarrassing. You pressed your lips together to hold back a chuckle, and when he finally put the ring on your finger, you could hear the exhale of relief coming out of his mouth.
“Perfect!” You said, smiling as you held your hand up and took a picture of it with your other hand. “She’ll love this.”
There were a dozen questions in Jay’s head, and he didn’t know which one to ask you first. When he finally gulped and decided to speak, however, you did the same thing.
“So about tufting…”
“The tufting class…”
You both looked at each other for a second before you burst out laughing. You calmly took the ring out of your finger and handed it back to Jay, who then safely put it back inside the box.
Now his head is filled with images of him putting a ring on your finger during an actual proposal. But he’ll get to that later.

have you seen this wizard? // jay (ENHYPEN)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: wizard!jay x teacher!fem!reader (Hogwarts AU)
summary: during your visit at the local bookstore, you encountered a mysterious man who, for some reason, made you feel compelled to assist.
content: sfw
word count: ~1.3k
author's note: yes, I made a fic based on this teaser. typed this in less than an hour. hope it made you feel things!
Tumblr media
With a soft grunt, you pushed the door open to Flourish and Blotts. You wanted to catch up on reading for leisure, since teaching had taken up most of your time, but also there were a couple of books you needed to assist your private tutoring sessions. You were out here on a Monday evening, thinking that it would be the least crowded time of the week, and you were right.
Except for the clerk and a couple of students browsing, it was just you and piles and piles of books. People were not exaggerating when they say the books were stacked to the ceiling, and that some books were even the size of paving stones. You wonder what they were about. After asking the nice man to locate the book you were looking for, he pointed to an aisle in the corner. You thanked him immediately, claiming you did not need further assistance and you preferred to browse alone.
You heard another chime on the door as your eyes scanned the rack, assuming that it was another customer coming in to have a look. You finally spotted the specific title you wanted, so you stretched your arm to pull the book out. Unfortunately, you weren’t tall enough, so tiptoeing did not help. You were about to find a stool to step on when a tall figure towered from behind you, caging your body between his and the book rack.
“Here you go,” the man smiled at you. It wasn’t a smile, you thought. It was a lopsided grin, or maybe that was just the way he usually smiles. Whatever it was, you could not deny that it was extremely attractive. He was extremely attractive.
And you feel like you had seen him somewhere.
“Thank you,” you responded, taking the book from his hands and immediately inspecting it. You were hoping that by busying yourself with the book, the man would eventually leave you alone, making it okay to let the heat rush to your cheeks.
“Herbology, huh?” He continued to stand in front of you.
You looked up at him and saw that he was covered in the best-looking winter garments you could ever find. His black coat was wool, you assumed, and the dark green scarf around his neck seemed like cashmere. His brown pants matched the color of his boots, and because he just looked so good, you began to wonder if he was anyone famous.
“Yes. I teach,” you smiled politely before opening the book. You decided it was just best to give him short answers. You were curious, but something inside you was telling you to be cautious.
The man put both his hands in the pockets of his coat. He leaned to the rack behind you as he observed you. At least, that was what you thought. Maybe he was observing something else, or the books. You weren’t looking. But you felt like he was looking at you.
“Do you come around here a lot?”
You cursed yourself for asking that question. Your friends and colleagues had praised you for your extroverted side, your ability to strike up a conversation with anyone and make anyone open up to you within minutes. The man smiled at you again. This time, his smile looked more genuine, and you just hoped he wasn’t the type who could read minds.
“Actually, I’m on the run,” he said, warily looking out towards the shop’s entrance. By the window, he saw more and more people walking by, and he began to move, facing you and having his back face the entrance. There was now no way for you to walk away since he was basically blocking the only access into the aisle, but something in his stance made you want to trust him. Luckily, the feeling was mutual because the next thing you know he was offering his hand for you to shake.
“I’m Jay,” he said in a lower voice.
You took off your gloves, because that was one of the basic manners your father taught you, and shook his hand. He felt warm, and his grip on you was tight. “Y/N,” you said.
“I might need your help, Y/N.” Jay was now looking at you hopefully.
Your eyes shifted from his face to the scene out the window, and you spotted several men and women dressed in dark colors huddled, talking to each other and pointing in different directions. From the size of their presence, you guessed that they were Aurors, and at that very moment, it hit you.
You looked back at Jay, and he was no longer smiling. The way he licked his lips reminded you of the posters you had seen around the block. There weren’t that many, but there were enough to have your brain subconsciously plant his face in your mind.
“Oh my God,” you whispered, bringing a hand to cover your mouth.
“If you can help me, I promise I will explain everything to you,” Jay shifted in his place, carefully tilting his head to assess the situation. “But if it’s a no, then I have to leave now, and you need to pretend that we’ve never met.”
You felt unreasonably upset when you heard the last sentence. You did not want to pretend that you’d never met. Not when he was still here standing in front of you. Sure, he might be a wanted wizard, but something about him, and something in your head, was making you feel compelled to help him. Was he using a spell that you did not know?
You couldn’t form an answer fast enough, and you heard the chime of a bell as the door opened. You saw two Aurors talking to the clerk, and you quickly darted your eyes back to Jay. He was too cautious about turning his back around, so his gaze was fixed on you. You looked back at the clerk and quickly calculated the possibility of you running away with him out of the bookstore.
That would attract unnecessary attention, so you decided on a different move.
“Kiss me,” you said, your voice almost hoarse.
Jay frowned at you before smiling in disbelief. “What?”
He wasn’t making any moves and the Aurors were starting to scout around. You grabbed his scarf and pulled him into you, making him almost smash his face into yours. At first, you just placed your lips on his, keeping your eyes slightly open so you could track the movements of everyone in the store. However, Jay placed his hands on your waist and deepened the kiss, resulting in you falling back a step and holding on to his scarf tighter.
When the Aurors reached your aisle, they immediately took a u-turn, not wanting to deal with whatever was happening. They glanced around one last time before thanking the clerk. As they left, you placed your hand against Jay’s chest, pushing him away.
“Now, the tricky part,” you said as you cleared your throat, “is to get you out of here without the clerk recognizing you.”
You were still scanning the whole store and making sure nobody else was looking at the two of you. When you did not hear a reply, you glanced at Jay. He was staring at you in a way that could only be described as mesmerized.
“So you’re really going to help me?” Jay asked to confirm. Only then he realized his hands were still on your waist.
“I mean, you did ask,” you said, taking both his hands off you but holding one in your hand.
You swore the lopsided grin on his face right now meant a whole other thing, and if you squinted, maybe you could see him blush. But that was not important for now. You were about to drag him to exit the store when he stood in his place and squeezed your hand.
“Are you sure about this?” He asked.
Funny how in the beginning, you were the one who was questioning his presence. After the kiss, something between the two of you seemed to shift, and now you were the confident one who was determined to protect this wizard from whatever was coming at him.
“I’m already committed. Let’s go.”
