Tumblr has flagged this post - not sure if it’s because of the natural birthing process depicted, or the unnatural anime baby abomination (with visible nipples) - either way, feel free to follow me on Twitter or Instagram, where I mainly post.

I had the opportunity to make an ident for the new MTV International rebrand. The prompt was “FEAR”, and I made a strange thing about a shocking birth. Hope you like it! 😷  👑 A giant shoutout as usual Skillbard who did an amazing job on the music and sound design.

I wrote an article about a film I probably won’t finish, and the difficulties of making certain kinds of work - check it out here:

We’re recording a new Movie Buddies episode on Tuesday!  Movie Buddies is a podcast Charles Huettner and I do together where we start talking about a movie and then usually talk about stuff related to animation. Our guest this week is Jennifer Zheng, an amazing animator who is dropping her new film TOUGH on Sunday!

I wrote an in-depth behind the scenes look at the making of LOVESTREAMS that explores every aspect of producing an independent animated short film, including a detailed tutorial for all of the animation techniques and downloadable project files!

Hey do you have any favorite novels or books/ ones you would recommend. Trying to find something new to read and I want to ask an animator/filmmaker out of curiosity (preferably not ones relating to animation or film because those books are usually shit) thanks!
Thanks for the question! Here are a couple books that I've read recently that are maybe a good blend of fun to read/inspirational for my filmmaking (which is kind of specific and sci-fi/techno related and might not be relevant to anyone else's interests).
Bleeding Edge by Thomas Pynchon
Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler
Spam by Finn Burton
The Disaster Artist by Greg Sestero and Tom Bissell (this one is related to film, but not in a typical, instructional way (kind of the opposite really, but in a good way)).
The Pale King by David Foster Wallace
That's a start, send me another ask if you like these and I can recommend more!

Simon Wilches-Castro assembled a massive team of animators to make a giant exquisite corpse celebrating the 20th anniversary of Toonami.  I watched Dragon Ball Z and Gundam Wing on Toonami when I was a kid, so getting to animate Tom in any sort of official capacity was pretty neat!  I’ll post some gifs from my sequence later!

I love tumblr and will continue to post here, but I’ve been posting a lot more casual drawing and animation stuff over on my new instagram account.
So feel free to pop over there for and don’t forget to smash that “follow” button!
