Some sketches I wound up doing today, along with some more hollow knight headcannons (kirby related headcannons / theorizing could be it’s own post). Was super hyped for the kirby release and I really like Star allies as it currently stands.
Anyways have some hollow knight headcannons! (under the cut!!)
Hornet calls Ghost Ghost because Nosk was definitely kicking around in the deepnest for quite some time, but a lot of people thought it was a ghost story to keep little kids in line (like a boogeyman of sorts)
Hornet may or may not have encountered this supposed “spooky ghost in deepnest” once in her childhood and still hasn’t forgotten about it
unrelated to all of this I may or may not be developing a Hornet has a decent-ish childhood AU/fanfic of sorts. May call it “It takes a village to raise a child”
less a headcanon but more of a silly nickname, i’ve taken to calling ghost “lowercase” hollow knight and the pure vessel / the Hollow Knight as “Uppercase” because it’s a good stealth pun describing the both of them & their relationship

Has nobody considered the following: The possibility that hornet had childhood friends / friends up until leaving the deepnest?
Part of me wants to write little drabbles about the childhood hijinks she may or may not have had in her youth with weaverlings who were about her age. I’m gonna go out on a limb and assume she did have some semblance of a childhood.

I’ve been doodling a lot of hollow knight lately...
I’ve also got several AU ideas including
every body lives / happy endings for all AU (pretty self explanatory)
AU in which the pale king gave Monomon and Lurien vessels alongside Herrah to try to sweeten the deal for them (I think they would have taken the deal without the vessels, but also wouldn’t turn down the offer / tell the king not to give vessels to them if the pale king presented them with vessels)
also, Lurien’s little vessel friend is modeled after the proposed a cut enemy type which would have been minions / followers of the Dreamers
Vessel dreamers AU - Or the au in which Monomon and Lurien were vessels made with the intent to be dreamers (but not Herrah; Herrah became a dreamer as a safeguard in case the two vessels couldn’t keep the seal).
As well as a couple sketches of weavers, a (hypothetical) daddy long legs, and then the masks of Hollow Knight, Hornet, and Ghost.
