I'm an admin of an rp and my former co-admin of 3+ years left to start their own rp. They didn't tell me that was specifically the reason they were leaving nor did they ever mention the rp exists (I found out about it by seeing a promo in the tags). Which is fine, we weren't like close friends or anything and they can do what they want. What bothers me is that I see them popping on our rp page and checking out specific event posts on statcounter (like it just happened again recently this past week). Sure enough, their latest event used content from one of my events that I've written for our group when they were still around. They did absolutely nothing to help or contribute to this specific event, this was all my creation and hours of searching for/coming up with some fun magic anons. I haven't spoken to them since they left but it kind of annoys me that they're picking off my ideas and creations for their rp when they had no interest in helping with these events I ran for our group when they around for them. Idk if I'm overreacting or if I'm valid in this.
stealing content, especislly if its word for word just a copy/paste, is SO not okay and you're totally valid for being annoyed! i'm someone who is always willing to share things if someone asks me but if they're not even speaking to you??? weird.

On anon only because I kind of don't want my actions back then to affect me now and we all know someone would make it happen.
But I will admit that back when I was 20 (28 now) I had a group of friends that did stuff like this. We made a group together and had fun til one guy was like an excited puppy dog whenever he had a plot and wouldn't shut up about it to the person he made it with, he was just so happy. That guy was the reason I changed how I did things. My friend was annoyed at him and complained to us so we all kind of told her 'well, he's annoying, that's icky, so and so needs to hear this.'
Within three hours it went from us just laughing at how annoying this guy was to the whole group being told he was pushing plots and forcing things on female muns and players. A few even posted it on their personalities/RPT blogs and it just spread. To be clear the messages he sent were all version of "I'm so excited, I got a cool plot within days of joining." he just sent like 10 within 30 minutes. He ended up quitting roleplaying altogether after it got back to him which was two weeks of the group basically being passive-aggressive with him. A friend outside of the group got wind of it and told me that one of the worst types of people are the ones that tear you down for being excited for something you love. Especially when its a harmless little hobby you do for fun.
god, what a story... i'm sorry to say this because it sounds like you've changed and learned from this but like, that's such mean behavior! everyone ganging up on someone for being excited about something just makes me really sad because i have definitely been the person who's excited when joining groups before and not felt welcome because of it!
i am glad you've learned from this and i'm going to share because it sounds like a good example of how the toxic spread of rumours, gossip, and shit talking, can really be hurtful to people if it's not kept contained in the privacy of the dms of a trusted friend.
not everyone is going to get along and you don't have to like everyone, but just because you don't like someone is no reason to make them feel like shit

I know I did some things I shouldn't have back in the day and maybe now, but I'm not a horrible person. I'm adhd and I don't know when I'm being too much in situations and let it go. I get hyperfixated and seem obsessed and obnoxious with things. I can't help it, but it doesn't mean I'm a bad of a person.
being "too much" in situations is not a crime! sometimes you just need to find people who will match your energy, rp partners who will get excited With you instead of thinking you're weird for it.
as long as we are not being malicious and are open to learning and growing as we move through life, it's all good!

˚꒰ 🏹 DISCORD FORUMS TUTORIAL♡
i'm not sure if people have seen or tested out the forums on discord but i thought i'd make a tutorial on how i use it for roleplaying since i found it super fun and helpful for organization purposes!
so what are forums? discord describes it as "a space for organized discussions". much like threads, the discussions can be contained in one post which makes it easy to keep your topics in order. the part that i find most useful is that you can organize your post by tags and filter through them! now in order to get forums in your server, you will have to enable 'Community' on your server. so let's start!
♡ . ) first thing you'll do is open your server setting. there will be an 'Enable Community' that you can click on and it will take you to a page like this
♡ . ) once you click 'Get Started' it will take you through a series of questions and system settings. you will need at least one "default channel" where discord will send automated updates. this channel is necessary if you want to use forums.
if you continue with the default settings, discord will automatically create two channels for you: one titled 'rules' and another titled 'moderators-only'. the announcements made whenever there's an update as mentioned above will be sent to the latter.
NOTE FROM CUPID ! i personally like to make a single channel titled something like 'updates' and keep it locked. this can be done before or after enabling community, you will just need to change the settings to go to the new channel first.
♡ . ) once you have community enable, you're free to make all the forums you want! when you go to create a new channel, 'forums' will show up as an option like this
for this example, i'm going to show how i set up my muses' profiles for 1x1 writing server like a roster, but you can also do this for single muse / threads / sms / etc.
♡ . ) when you click into the forums channel you created, you will see a landing page like this. there are instructions on how to navigate the channel as well so feel free to read those as well! the first thing i like to do is create tags. you can open that setting by clicking either of these buttons.
(navigate to the 'Tags' section and click 'Create Tag' if you need to) it will open a popup box like this. i like to create a tag for every muse that i want to add to my roster and you're able to add 20 tags!
when you're finished, they will be listed as you see below. there are other options in forums settings that you can play around with including a 'default reaction' emoji, 'slowmode', layout and sorting option, age restriction and 'hide after inactivity'. all these are based on preference!
♡ . ) once you've saved your setting changes, you can leave this page and are now able to make your posts by clicking 'New Post' on the upper right hand corner.
this is where you're pretty much able to do whatever suits your style including formatting how you like and adding photos, all you need to make sure to do is add the corresponding tag to the post! once you're finished making it look how you want, you can click 'Post'
they will appear in the channel like this!
♡ . ) and by clicking on a post, you will be able to open it in a side view like this. if you want to see the post in full view, you will click the three dots in the upper right hand corner of the side view and then choose 'Open in Full View'.
you're now able to add more messages within the post! for me, i like to add stats of my muses and headcanons that may be useful when i thread.
NOTE FROM CUPID ! one set back i found is that you are not able to use threads within a forum post so it may get a bit cluttered depending on what you send in a forum post. so if you are wanting multiple different sections for one topic, i suggest creating a forum instead. for example, if you are wanting to add musings, faceclaim pics, headcanons and stats all for one muse, i would create a single forum post just for that muse instead to avoid having important info getting lost!
and that pretty much covers how i use forums for discord rp! i encourage you to play around with it to find a style and format that best works for you. and if you have any questions, you're more than welcome to send it to my inbox. happy writing everyone♡♡♡

I'm ngl that last anon you received in response to being harassed and abused sounds like Nolan, who is actually problematic, and trying to advocate for "his friend" as himself. This isn't here to send hate and you don't have to post this or do anything. Nolan is actually a major issue in the rpc. He's lied, manipulated, gaslighted, harassed, and stalked those that have kicked him out of their groups for heavily godmodding, purposefully ignoring female characters because his characters are gay and therefore he won't be finding any romantic/sexual connections with them. After he's kicked out he goes off to make his own rps with stolen material for his lore and then sends out messages to the members of the rp he was kicked from practically begging them to join his group.
There are claims that he's been racist and he did in fact steal a theme code from popular creator hailthehelpful / ikilledtherpc a few years back. When folks went after him, he compared the attack to a "jihad" which is fucked up in itself. The dude can't let anything go. The only reason I'm sending this on anon is because I was an admin of one of those rps years ago (I'm betting the one he's claiming said were "fans of his site" which is bs). The rp's been shut down for 7 years and he continues stalking our main page (I have statcounter installed) excessively to this day. In fact, he was on it just yesterday with 20 new hits.
if this is true i feel like i should make it clear that me promoting kindness should not be taken as this blog being a safe space for racists!!

favorite original character is my probably yut, my jeff satur fc. he's so messy and such a problem child and i love everything about him. he's one of my most developed muses and a LOT of fun to rp as because he is very reactive and dramatic!
canon characters? it's either shi qingxuan (ULTIMATE BABYGIRL, TGCF FANS HMU) or my classic emma frost
in terms of fcs i like to switch it up a lot but i love ashley moore, jeff satur, riz ahmed, lee dong wook, kehlani, and kitty chicha

I actually really enjoy that over the last day or so the majority of the rpc/rpt community aside from the known two blogs, have and or realize that callout blogs, etc. are so vile and in the past. At the end of the day, these are still human beings with real feelings and majority of the time make mistakes. everyone is entitled to their opinion but when you use things like "racist, disgusting, transphobic, homophobic, etc." you're diminishing the real meaning of the word. It is nice that the majority of the rpc feels the same way. it's just a lil hobby at the end of the day, and it's used to be a nice escape of the real world. People forget that.
i saw this message go to some other blogs but i hope we can all learn to be patient with each other
so many of the rpc's values (anti racism, equality, inclusion, etc) are absolutely amazing, but we can practise those values while still like.... being nice to each other. being patient and forgiving, educating instead of running straight to cancelling people (to an extent, of course. protect your peace, but i promise putting random people on blast won't protect anyone's peace)

OH MY GOD THIS!!!!!!
I ran a group once and one day I was just having a bad day. A powerful all day migraine, my schedule came out and I had crap hours and needed to pay rent in six days, had to do an online class, just everything. Then had a member and former friend message me "hey..... hey.... heeeeyyyyyyyyyyy, why aren't you replying?.... that's such BS" but these were all individual messages like milliseconds apart and there were others. finally just replied 'god you're a diva be quiet I'm having a bad day and this pinging is annoying. I'll message you when I feel better."
The dude then spent the next three days bad-mouthing me to everyone, stealing my group's lore, and opened his own group. I flopped in a week and to this day he tells everyone I bully my members and make fun of them.
you are not your lowest moments 🩷 we can all be mean and snappy sometimes (especially with a migraine, i sympathise) and we can all grow and change too
