FLICKORYYYY. My beloved crack ship for two characters who share no screentime!!! While no one was looking I have steadily become more deranged about them and I'm having a blast.
So like, this is way more than you bargained for BUT.
The Flickory meeting I have on hand for u is from a Winged!Floyd AU that's not gonna make any sense unless I explain a thing or two. It all started cause I'd been drawing some fluffy wings for an upcoming tarot project I'm a part of, and got the urge to draw Floyd with some. Then it spiraled outta my control lmao.
In this AU, Floyd gets a Gift in return for comforting a supernatural being on their deathbed.
The gift in question is a mark that gives him eerie, eldritch feeling wings that activate when he sings. They start as little stubs but grow larger with each song.
i had a whole unhinged ramble about this idea but that's not what we're here for. SO EITHER WAY.
Flickory first meeting. I decided to go the traditional route for a winged AU; the Dock Bros meet Floyd via property damage to their travel wagon when he falls through their ceiling.
its all in good fun. he joins em and becomes a bounty hunter lol.
but then!!! i was accosted by another scene, and u can have that one too.

Or how about Floyd, who came back as promised only to find the Troll Tree devoid of life and Rosiepuff's pod empty, going grey as he mourns baby Branch whom he thinks got eaten?
Hey so! Totally fun (and not hurtful at all) fact-!
For Trolls Band Together, the story the writers wanted to go with (according to the Artbook and novelization), implies that Brozone's disbandment happens before Bergen Town is even a thing, which has such severe implications to me.
so.
tfw you return to your home to find that
actually, the forest that sheltered you is eradicated, replaced with a giant town whose occupants' sole form of joy consists of devouring you.
the tree that served as your home is the only thing left of that forest, and it is decayed, withered, and desiccated... displayed in the middle of the town in a cage.
your pod, your home, is empty. every home around it is empty too. there are no trolls in sight.
as far as you know, everyone that used to be here is gone. or dead. most likely dead.
you will never see them ever again.
you were just a teenager.

There was the Inciting Bergen-Ate-A-Troll Incident however many years ago - which fractured the pop trolls into smaller communities#2. The Bergens had indeed been eating pop trolls for generations complete with Trollstice#HOWEVER.#That had been amongst a moving Bergen settlement and those various pop troll populations#(<those groups have been eaten to extinction)#3. Therefore - Bergens were things our specific group of trolls were aware of at large - but one they had not yet experienced#4. It culminates with Bergen Town being the recent Settlement and the luck of Peppy's group running out.

im in awe because through minimal osmosis you seem to have a more canon accurate grasp of Karkat's character than the majority of the fanbase and current writing staff. also the homestuck trolls are definitely grey bc of depression, trust me. i think the dreamworks trolls version of their upbringing would be if each one was raised by a bergen?
aww, thank you anon! it's been quite bizarre and funny to me to see similar thoughts about how i characterize karkat on my posts ahaha. a strange honor, i feel.
tho anon i'm gonna be real with you,
the implication that, when properly imported into the dreamworks universe, homestuck trolls would be raised by bergens, the very creatures who have a whole culture around ritualistically eating them, paired with the fact that their mental health would remain bad enough to stay grey... has painted a far better picture for what the actual story of homestuck is like than any other version i've come across lmao.
