ik im incredibly inactive online but just wanted to let you all know how happy it made me to check tumblr again and see that so many of you are also !!! absolutely going through it over terra and his exceptionally peak story and character :,)
(ignore absolute crisis over bbs rant in tags but it is what it is and I cannot think about terra or bbs without brain going vroom crisis)

#crying over terra is not just an emotional state it is a state of being#like his return scene in kh3????#鈥淭HIS TIME I WILL MAKE IT RIGHT?????#like he鈥檚 such a good character I remember talking about how he was just a good man who was at the wrong place wrong time consistently#and his only fault was that he鈥檇 try to give people the benefit of doubt and trust them and that鈥檚 what got him basically killed#that he tried to give people what he wasn鈥檛 given#trust faith and just in general believing in the goodness of people#because if you think about it eraqus who was basically his dad never thought to give that to him the second he had a reason to doubt him#birth by sleep is actually so iconic because all the characters. their arcs as individuals are so beautifully tied to their characters#and their fates like#aqua the entire time struggles with having agency of her own. she follows eraqus鈥檚 instructions and never fully acknowledges herself as a#master UNTIL the penultimate moment where she finally establishes herself as a master and makes her own decision#that decision being to save terra at all costs. including her own life#she parallels sora so much in that if you think about it like in kh3 where the first decision sora truly makes for and by himself is to#sacrifice himself#and like the same goes for terras and vens arcs but like I鈥檓 digressing a lot from terra at this point so let鈥檚 just keep it to terra but#terra at his core I think is the one who truly represented the idea of being a good person like ik im not making much sense rn probably but#there鈥檚 something in how his judgement of people is linked to how they are as people rather than darkness and light specifically which is#a lovely antithesis to eraqus. but it鈥檚 also why terra ends up in these situations because he just keeps trusting in the goodness of human#nature to a fault. his story starts with his father choosing to trust these arbitrary intangible ideas over what he knows of terra as a#person. and then terra spends his entire journey trying his best to not repeat that same mistake. but he just keeps ending up at the wrong#place each time and it鈥檚 honestly played out like such a cruel joke how terra inadvertently keeps making things worse by choosing to trust#goodness. and then aqua has to come in and clean things up. and it鈥檚 such an interesting reflection of how they were raised and treated too#terras case I鈥檝e already mentioned but aquas case as the good child who fixes everything and is obedient too it just hits so hard and is so#so realistic too because I personally have been both of these people in different ways and I just#BBS supremacy aaaaa
