So, it's been almost six years since I've touched Berserk as a project. I haven't thought about it much, especially in the last three years, and I don't really remember where I was going with the project at this point.

That being said, I am thinking about rewriting the chapters and putting them up on AO3.

I've also toyed with the idea of, uhhhh, making them not so obviously Fairy Tail fanfiction and self-publishing hardcopies on lulu. I have no idea if anyone would want to buy a hardcopy, but it's something I've been thinking about lately (gotta pay off those grad loans 😔)

Anyway! It's genuinely amazing to me that I still get asks about this fic seven years after I started it, and six years since it's been active. That's actually wild. The fact that people still want to see it continued makes me a little bit emotional, if I'm being honest.

Stranger Things (2016 —) Season One, Chapter Four: The Body

watching the new season of stranger things has really made me appreciate the subtlety of season 1 a lot more. like the bullies in season 4 are one-dimensional riverdale caricatures of people doing absurd shit but steve tommy h and carol in season 1?? unbelievably convincing edge of patheticness. like the realism in steve seeming almost embarrassed and leaving immediately after smashing the camera, or tommy h giving jonathan an awkward little wave when nancy gestures over to them, or cutting to carol in the middle of a vaguely lame anecdote that the other two aren’t laughing at but are listening to. bigging up a party at school even though it’s literally just their friend group drinking at someone’s house. the amount of time they spend being kind of bored together intercut with being extremely obnoxious. they’re not even really bullies they just seem to be a bitchy toxic friend group who fuck with each other more than they do anyone else. they aren’t supervillains so much as they are regular teenagers who are going to be deeply embarrassed about their behaviour in high school in approximately five years. at some point in four seasons this sauce got lost. this show used to be able to communicate ‘these are the mean preppy rich kids’ without just putting them in pastel pink and having them talk shit constantly
