Plant Allies For Gay Witchcraft
ย Herbs and flowers for magical workings pertaining to members of the LGBTQ community:
Calamus (Water/Moon) The name originates from the Greek myth of Kalamos (โreedโ) and Karpos (โfruitโ), a couple of gay youths in love. Karpos died while the two were having a swimming contest, and Kalamos, so struck with grief, allowed himself to drown and became the Calamus Reed whose sound in the wind was attributed to sighs of grief. Calamus, also known as Sweet Flag, channels gay masculine energies and the root is considered highly commanding.
Carnations, Green (Fire/Jupiter) Channel gay male energy. Carnations in general are considered highly protective, especially in areas concerning love.
Dillย (Fire/Mercury) Dill seeds are considered the โsemen of Hermes,โ who was invoked during the 3rd century in Egypt for gay and lesbian love spells in Hellenistic (Greek) magick. Dressing Like a Scorpio Venus
Dressing like your Venus sign (from your birth chart) can enhance your most romantic, attractive, or sexy aspects. In this case, we'll dive deeper into dressing Like a Scorpio Venus.
The Scorpio Archetype
The Scorpio archetype is all about taboo. Death, mystery, sex, hidden or secretive things, deep topics, intensity, all things enigmatic interest Scorpio. Scorpio holds a deep desire to drive or lead us into our hidden selves.
Scorpio Color Associations
Some of the strongest and most common color associations with Scorpio are dark red (like maroon) and black. Deep pallettes in general - such as dark browns - and bold colors like bright red would work as well.
Texture and Shape
Texture is a great way to up your style. Leather, velvet, metal, anything grunge can be used to accentuate or accent your style. Anything that may create an accentuated shape - such as leather jackets (with their sharp, crisp lines) or romantic Gothic tops (with their flowy, bell shaped sleeves) may be of interest. Shapely, tight fitted and bold clothes are something I associate strongly with Scorpio (think Morticia and Gomez Adams). Boots, vests, belts. Get creative with it.
Make Up, Hair, Scent
Bold, dark, smudged make up is most associated with the Scorpio archetype. A dark, mysterious, day-after feel is usually what they go for. You may find that smudged or bold eye make up makes your confidence shine. A bright, solid, sharply lined lip - OR a soft, barely there lip, might be ideal for you. Bold lines with a pop of color are a fun addition.
Slicked back hair is a big one for the Scorpio archetype. Dramatic styles, such as pinned curls, spiked hair, etc might be fun and exciting for you as well. Dark natural hair colors are usually ideal, as well as fun colors such as maroon or cherry red, dark purple, or partial dyes mixing colors like black and white, red and white, etc.
As with all things, find what suits your natural face shape, skin and hair tone.
What Happens if I Don't Relate?
Perhaps you still want to dress according to your Venus sign, but don't relate to the Scorpio archetype at all. Maybe you're more drawn to the gentle, pastel pallette of Pisces, or the bright exuberance of Leo.
Don't worry! You are a human being, defined by no one thing. Your chart is much the same. Look to your Sun or Rising sign to see what may most resonate with you. Then, mix the styles until you've found your perfect match. That's what fashion is all about.
