Chris Brown releases Aaliyah 'tribute' video
Tumblr media
America's favourite nice guy Chris Brown's new single Don't Think They Know samples a previously unreleased Aaliyah song, the video even featuring projections of the late singer on a wall while Brown infuriatingly mimes over her soothing vocals. It looks like Brown will unfortunately get away with this perversion under the guise that the clip's purpose is to raise awareness of violence in underpriveleged neighbourhoods and gun safety. Is everyone forgetting the fact Chris Brown's nemesis Drake released an Aaliyah collaboration over a year ago? Not to mention the fact it seems somewhat hypocritical for Brown to be taking a stand against violence. On a more positive note it's nice to see he discovered the colour accent feature on his camera.

Nelly and Nicki Minaj have done a song together and it's surprisingly not horrible
Oh, Pharrell produced the track and also features on it. Listen below. With Get Lucky and Blurred Lines doing reasonably well Lil' Skateboard P is back in a big way. If he can make Nelly sound this good bring on the Miley album.

Evidently Miley Cyrus is slightly irritating on drugs
Tumblr media
Watch post-Disney Miley just being Miley by repeatedly arching her back on a bed, twerking, and making out with a doll in a pool throughout her new Sky Ferreira-style new video for We Can't Stop. Glad she's found herself.

Good music / legitimate talent alert: The Dolls
Tumblr media
What do you get when you add an internationally renowned DJ to a superstar electro-violinist? Well there's no simple answer for that but in this case the result is The Dolls, comprising of Mia Moretti and Caitlin Moe (AKA Margot, apparently), who's debut track Summer of '93 is a dreamy anti-summer anthem. With hauntingly chopped up violin from the get-go and evocative vocals throughout, Summer of '93 is guaranteed to supply a worthy soundtrack for those anticlimactic summer (or winter) romances we all know too well. Summer of '93 is available to download for free on The Dolls' official Soundcloud (below). Make sure you check out the Cory Enemy remix (also below) for an equally as enjoyable listening experience.

Scott Disick slaughters Jonathan Cheban, does world considerable favour
Tumblr media
Kanye West's American Psycho-inspired short film starring reality E! power players Scott Disick and Jonathan Cheban appeared online today, with the former playing the part of Christian Bale's character and the latter Jared Leto. The film kicks off with some typically cringeworthy acting on both parts, but ends on a slightly more positive note with the horrific murder of Kimmy K's PR King/famewhore bestie. Watch below.

Britney Spears releases mediocre song for The Smurfs 2, gets lumped in with Robin Antin's 73rd attempt at PCD 2.0
Tumblr media
Today saw the premiere of a new Britney Spears song Ooh La La which will appear on the upcoming Smurfs 2 soundtrack. Spears cites "her boys" (Federline spawn) as the reason for recording the track. Also on the soundtrack is Vacation from new girl group GRL. Evidently Robin Antin has continued to Search For The Next Doll these past few years, with multiple combinations of split-kicking women of various ethnicities surfacing every few years only to quietly disappear into the ever-growing skank-pop abyss. The newest offering is made up of Lauren Bennet (The Paradiso Girls, also appeared on that PCD Superbowl commercial), a poor man's Amber Rose (try to wrap your head around that one), and, well, some other pretty ladies that probably don't have a whole lot to offer aside from their body-shaking abilities.
Tumblr media
Vacation is bland - think Kelly Clarkson B-side fused with a toned-down Ke$ha. On the upside, you won't have to pay for the track as it comes free with Britney's. See below for a clip of Britney looking divine as the hideously over-styled GRL struggle to speak like normal humans.

M.I.A. returns with Bring The Noize
After releasing a few short epilepsy-inducing previews via her official Vine account earlier in the week, M.I.A. is officially back with Bring The Noize. The track is nothing too far from what we've come to expect from the Sri-Lankan/British controversy-machine, slotting in nicely between Bad Girls and Bird Flu.
With fourth studio album (appropriately adopting yet another of her given names Mathangi as the title) already considerably delayed from its initial scheduled release of late 2012, M.I.A. has stated this era is her 'last stab at it', vowing to start releasing new material from her bedroom as opposed to through her label Interscope. Would probably be better for all involved, considering unreleased gems like the Danja-produced Doobie are floating around (see below).

Jay-Z 'beats the leak' with new album, Timbaland sports an illuminati hat
Tumblr media
Providing a gentle reminder that there can only be one king and queen, Jay Z has announced a new album, no more than a day before label mate and BFF Kanye West's Yeezus release date (it leaked over the weekend, as did the baby). Magna Carta Holy Grail is out July 4, but for Samsung Galaxy S III, S4 and Note II users it will be available 72 hours prior. Samsung paid $5 each for the one million copies on offer to its users, meaning the album has already successfully generated a $5 million profit for Hov. Who cares if it leaks? The promo video below features appearances from collaborators Pharrell, Swizz Beats and Timbaland, as well as producer Rick Rubin. With that line-up, this new development in sacrilegious, self-indulgent-titled albums appears to be quite promising.

MKS 'Flatline' Preview
Tumblr media
Mutya Keisha Siobhan (AKA Sugababes, AKA Origi-babes, AKA MKS) have taken to their official Soundcloud account to release a preview of their long-awaited debut/comeback(?) single Flatline.
The track was produced by the genius Dev Hynes (AKA Blood Orange AKA Lightspeed Champion), however from the 1.11 minute long preview you wouldn't immediately guess. Anyone getting Ryan Tedder vibes?
Hynes has most recently been responsible for Solange's euphoric True EP, and Sky Ferreira's Everything is Embarrassing. The British mastermind is rumoured to be working on new material for both Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue as well as MKS.
