A page from an Armenian gospel with portraits of two saints, 966 CE. The manuscript says that it was produced by "Sargis the Priest." The distinctive script is known as "erkat‘agir script," which translates to "iron writing" -- it's meant to mirror Latin scripts from the late antique and early medieval periods.
