We had a practice lock down in my school last week. I had 4th graders in my room at the time. Kids the same age as those slaughtered in Texas. I watched 4th graders who were terrified of the IDEA of a lockdown talk through where we would go if they were in my room (that has an entire wall of windows looking into the hallway) or what would happen if they were stuck in the bathroom and all the teachers locked their doors. I watched kids who see gun violence in their home lives try to process why it could happen in the place that is supposed to be their safe haven. and I wanted SO FUCKING BADLY to hug them all and tell them it's just like a fire drill. Just like the school will probably never burn down while you're here, this will probably never happen. But I couldn't. I had to fight tears and tell them they are smart and brave and resourceful and that EVERY teacher, EVERY staff person, EVERY adult in our building would go down fighting if it meant protecting them and giving them a chance. I'm always going to advocate for them, and fight for them. But FUCK if it doesn't hurt a bit more and take just a bit more out of me tonight.
they were babies. babies who did not even get to live their full life. please stop thinking this is about “taking your guns away”. we want stricter gun laws that is all. we want laws where it is not possible for an 18 year old to obtain a gun. it’s more strict to get a hunting license than to buy a gun.
this country wants to control womens bodies and force them to have kids but they REFUSE to make any laws that will protect not only children but all citizens from gun violence on a daily basis. i’m tired of this. my heart breaks thinking what those babies were thinking what they were feeling.
we shouldn’t be scared to go to the grocery store, school, mall, concerts, etc. thinking of all the exits you can take in case a shooter walks in. we shouldn’t be afraid of a place we call home, a place where we should feel safe. when will enough finally be enough? when will we finally stand up to those in office who send their thoughts and prayers for just a few days then confuse their agenda about how guns are more important to them than the innocent lives that have been taken due to gun violence?

Aahhh, I love this 😍🥰 just the thought of him coming home while you're cooking dinner and he can tell just from looking at you that you're stressed. he comes up behind you, takes the spatula from your hand and sets it down and just gently rubs your shoulders, absent-mindedly humming while he does.

his love language is definitely physical touch!! i could see you not being used to so much affection so having him kiss you so much and cuddling felt new and different than your previous relationships.
but you get so used to it after a few weeks of dating that if there’s a day where he’s had a long day you’d give him all the physical touch he wants to make him feel better and it would make him so happy since that isn’t really your love language 🥺🤎

I know I've been MIA on here for a while, and I'm hoping that changes here soon, but I had to come back on here to make a very important post today. One year ago, I was in the midst of dreading the upcoming holiday season, completely burnt out from work and life drama and I was escaping here to the wonderful world of Tumblr. I randomly started chatting with the one and only @darlingsteve. Since that day, she has been the most amazing friend anyone could ever ask for. She made me feel special and important on my birthday, she listened when I needed to vent to get over a bad day. She celebrated my good days and reminded me to breathe on the stressful ones. She's let me be there for her through a busy, stressful and crazy year and she has never once been anything but sweet, kind, considerate and absolutely amazing. Dani, I dont know what I'd have done without you this last year, but I do know I won't have to worry about that again. You're the most amazing friend and I'm so incredibly lucky to say you're my BFF. Happy One Year Friend-iversary, Lovebug!!!! Here's to 100s more!!!
