SYNOPSIS

You made a bet with the ginger-harbinger. If he wins today's spar, he could bring you with him to Snezhnaya to have christmast with his family. But if you won, you are able to pick ANY christmast present you want!

It was the next day's morning. The sun shined high, the perfect weather for you two to sail.

As for now, you are on your way to the harbour, it isnt that far from your house.

From afar, if you squint, you could see a group of men. Most of them wear black and masks, but there's one that stands out different. He doesnt wear a mask and not wearing a hood also.

"Y/n over here!" He shouted from afar upon seeing you.

'Oh it's Childe' You thought as you quicken your pace, "Childe! Coming!" By now, you are running towards him.

Panting, you stopped right infront of him. Your bags fell to the ground as you used your hands to support your body by your knees.

"Ah comrade! A-are you ok..?" Childe panicked as he helped you straighten your body.

"A-ahaha.. Im ok! Hah-" You assured him as you countinued to pant.

As you were about to take your bags that had fell, the fatui soldiers that were guarding suddenly took them.

You were about to go mad until Childe said; "Just let them take your bags. Dont worry, now come on in the ship. We're going to depart soon" He walked towards the ship not bothered to turn back.

You just nodded, which he wont notice, and catched up on him into the ship.

...

The sail was opened, blown by the wind. The ship started to move, taking a turn. Most of the fatui helpers got on their stance to keep guard of the sail for no mistakes during the ride.

You were excited, tho you would never admit it. But it is obvious from your face and how you are now by the ship's side to see the sea, like a excited kid who just had their first time at the ship.

"You do enjoy this ride huh?" Childe asked suddenly which you didnt even notice his presence beside you.

You just nodded nervously and looked away, to the sea view.

"This is quite normal and boring for a harbinger like me since I have often go for bussiness purpose rides. But I gotta admit, it feels different with having you around during this ride" Childe poured his thoughts.

"Really? What makes it different?" You questioned his thoughts, finally facing him and looked at his pretty face.

He chuckled softly. You dont know why but it sends you small tingles hearing his laugh.

"I.. I dont know actually.. Its just that.. hm. Ah, most of time, during my time in this ship, I would be alone and write letters for my family in my office. Or maybe command or take a look around the fatui soldier's work" He looked further on the sea view.

"But this time.. I have an activity to busy myself during the ride, talking to you" He turned to you, meeting your gaze with a warm hearted smile.

"Y/n, I enjoy having you around, really" He admitted.

You just looked up at him, dumbfoundedly, as if there's imaginary stars in your eyes. Your mouth gaped a bit.

When you finally pulled yourself together, you blinked multiple times as your cheeks reddened.

'Fuck.. Did I just embarrassed myself infront of him?!' You panicked inside.

You were pulled back to reality when he started to laugh heartedly.

"Your antics are very adorable y/n!" He countinued laughing, wiping off an imaginary tear.

His laugh died down, he gazed the sea view ahead both of you.

There's a faint blush on his cheeks. Pointing out that he is happy.

"Comrade, we're going to be stuck here in this ship for a few days" He reminded.

You hummed; "So? What if we're going to be here for a few days?" You mockingly questioned him.

He chuckled and answered; "Let's get to know eachother more than fight buddies. Like talk together and get close, you know.." He explained suddenly being quite nervous.

Silence was your answer.

Until he countinued; "You know comrade.. You are actually the first that I bring to meet my family"

Your eyes widened a bit by the fact, looking at him with a surprised expression.

He nervously giggled; "I know right? Surprising I'd say myself. So I must say, I think.. You're quite the special comrade"

You were very flattered, unable to meet his gaze.

So you just answered; "That's great.."

...

It was the second day at the ship, you just have an early dinner.

Now, you are by the side of the ship, waiting for sunset. This was actually a plan of yours, but you forgotten yesterday.

A kamera was prepared for you to take a picture of this beautiful view.

Tho you rarely travel or go to new places, you love taking pictures with a kamera. Even Childe approved this hobby of yours. He supported you by getting you a much more expensive kamera (which you actually declined at first) than your first.

It was really calming outside right now.

Most of the fatui soldiers are inside, having dinner or a rest before patroling midnight.

...

Childe was confused, where are you?

He was expecting for you to be eating in your room, so he can join.

But you were nowhere to be found. He already find you in the ship's cafeteria corner, but still he didnt found you.

It was until he decided to check the ship's sides, the place where you both before hand.

'Aha there they are' He happily thought.

"Boo!" He surprised you from behind.

You slightly gasped.

The kamera you had in your hand almost got out of you grasp, which can cause it to fall into the pcean and sink.

You were just adjusting and finding a nice angle to take the pict before the sunset.

"Childe! Cant you see what Im doing?! The kamera was close to fall into the sea you know.." You complaint.

He laughed; "Your expressions are just priceless comrade!"

You just ignored him and countinued with the thing you were doing before.

"What's with you doing here outside all alone tho?" He questioned.

"Im waiting for the sunset" You answered shortly.

He hummed as a response.

"Ah it started!" You slightly shouted.

The sound of clicking kamera then filled the air as you took picture of the sunset from many angles.

Childe could only chuckle to himself by the cute precious sight of his y/n having a good time.

"Ha! Look at these pictures, they're pretty arent they?" You proudly handed Childe the polaroid pictures.

He let out a giggle; "Hmm.. I do find it pleasant" He praised.

"Aha! Of course! It is take by the y/n theirself anyways!" You proudly showed off.

Childe smiled and laughed along with you.

"How about we take a picture together? You know, a picture of us together with the sunset" He suggested.

"Sure, sure! Hurry pose, the sun is about to fully set down!" You raised the kamera for both of you to fit in the frame.

Both of you smiled and did a few poses together; Peace signs, Childe poking your cheek as you make a funny face, and another one where you both connect a love sign together.

You guys laughed together heartfully as the kamera proceeds to print the polaroids of you two.

As soon it finished printing, you took one of the polaroid and flick it in the air a bit for it to dry.

It was the picture where Childe poked your cheek and you made a funny face.

Childe laughed at your face in the picture; "Comrade! You looked silly here!" As he pointed at your face in the picture and countinued laughing.

You just hummed in annoyance upon his answer.

"Anyways comrade, can I have one of the pictures? This one" He snatched the picture you had in hand, the one he laughed at.

"What for?!" You asked him "furiously". Deep down you know that he is gonna use it to tease you and make jokes about it.

"Haha! Worry not comrade! Its just for our memories together you know?" He sing-songed.

"I dont believe you Childe" You softly sighed.

His happy face turned into a little cute pout; "Really? You dont believe me y/n?"

You did not answer that, only giving him a little soft frown at his face.

...

Cold. That's how you are feeling.

You really didnt think that the temperature would be this low. All the layers of warm clothes you are wearing arent enough.

"Told you comrade! You should've bought more warm clothes" Childe taunted.

Silence was your answer, you only countinued to shiver from the cold.

Childe you eyed you weirdly before taking off a layer of his warm clothing and then hanging it on your shoulders.

Upon his actions, you looked at him confusingly.

"Dont worry, I wont get cold, Im used to this weather. Afterall, you need it more than I do comrade" He assured.

You two are in a carriage, being drove to Childe's family house.

The view was all snow, white, as far you can see. The trees were covered in white snow, small ponds are freezed.

From what you noticed, Snezhnaya seems to have more forest areas than houses and homes.

Also, how do they survive in these temperatures?! Its freezing cold..

...

"Big brother Ajax!!" Shouted a child voice just outside the carriage.

Both of you had arrived, stopping infront of his house.

"Ahahaha, Teucer!" He greeted back at his little brother, crouching down and welcoming him with wide arms open for a hug.

You were pleased and happy by the sight. Meanwhile, you are struggling to get off the carriage with these heavy boots and to not fall into the snow. Well, you actually manged to get down.

"Big sister/brother y/n!!" Teucer noticed you and ran.

You were quite shocked, he knows you?

Anyways, you also hugged him.

"Brother Ajax told us a lot about you! Sister Tonia always read the letters for me to listen!" He confessed as if his reading your mind.

'"Ajax"? Hm.. It must be Childe's actual name.. But why did he never tell me about it?' You thought to yourself.

"Fufu, Welcome you two~ Come in, come in! Its cold outside you know.. Come and warm yourselves~" Welcomed a grown woman who stood by the entrance door's frame. She must be Childe's mother.

This was longer than I expected 😭 I'll split into two parts! (Or maybe more?) There's a mention of Childe's siblings, they are cannon! But the eldest or the youngest order is a headcannon by me, not cannon!

Fluff fluff <3 a small mention of reader bleeding and injured! But nothing deep, dw!

It was another day for a duel with Childe, the 11th Harbinger. It is a normal thing that you both usually do.

However, there's a little something that makes this duel diffirent than the usual.

"Hey comrade! At my hometown, Snezhnaya, they have a little celebration during this cold season. Well, it is always cold in Snezhnaya. But they have a big day for this colder season! Its called Christmas. At this moment of time, most of Snezhnayans take a break from their work for a few weeks in December. They would stay at home with their beloved ones and have a good time together, to keep warm!" He explained as both of you walked together to guili plains, your usual duel spot.

You just eyed him as both of you countinued the walk, matching his walking pace. Left, right, left, right, left..

You looked back at him and questioned. "So what do you want me to do about it? Its only a big day in Snezhnaya, not Liyue"

"Hm? Arent you atleast a little excited? You know, maybe asking why I suddenly explain you about one of the nearing big days in Snezhnaya?" He expected.

"Then why?"

"Because Im planning on taking you to my hometown during december! You should know the big day" He excitedly exclaimed, with a proud face.

Shocked, you suddenly stopped in your tracks. In an instant, Childe also stopped in his tracks, just infront of you.

"What's wrong?" He turned to look at you properly.

"D-did I misheard..? You want to take me to Snezhnaya..?" You asked, making sure.

"Hm? Yea I did said that. What's the big deal?"

"Why do you want to bring me??! Y-you are supposed to bring only your loved ones when you usually go back to your hometown.. To introduce them to your family!" You corrected him as you started to walk ahead of him.

His face created a some like shocked (?) expression, looking at you who was already a little ahead of him.

"Really? Im pretty sure its still alright to bring your close friends and comrades to your hometown.." He jogged a little to catch up on you.

"Well the normal thing that people do most of the time is like how I explained you" You shrugged.

"Ahahaha! But afterall there's no wrong for me to bring you and introduce you to my family" He once more exclaimed.

And again you stopped in your tracks.

"W-WHAT..? YOU ARE EVEN PLANING TO I-INTRODUCE ME TO YOUR FAMILY..??" You stared at him with a nervous gaze and red cheeks.

You really didn't know, this was too sudden. How could he just explained a nearing big day at his hometown just to bring you with him? AND even to introduce you to his family!

All of this is too sudden! Too sudden! Even december is just in a few days!

He stopped in his tracks, this time not surprised. He just turned to look at you, unfazed.

"What is wrong with it??! Why are you shocked.." You are then showed his back once more.

He made a questioning pose.

"Hm. Ahh, are you thinking that they'll get the wrong thing between us? No worries! I'll introduce you as my comrade of course!" He assured you, waving his hands in the air.

"But what if I dont want to come with you to Snezhnaya??!" You asked him. It came a little louder as like shout. Not what you expected.

Thinking that your mad, Childe's excited expression then falled to a neutral expression.

"Ahh.. You dont want to go?.." He asked to make sure.

You actually wanted to go with him. But your body says otherwise, you nodded.

His eyes widened a little to your response.

"Is that so.." His gaze fell to the ground, he thought a little.

Suddenly, as if a little imaginary bulb light up, his face was suddenly happy and excited again.

"Aha! What about this; If I win today's spar, I could bring you to Snezhnaya! And if you win.. Hm.."

"You get to pay me one thing. And it could be ANYTHING I like" You countinued his words.

He smiled, "Sure! Tho this reward of yours is already quite usual since I often pay for your expenses, but whatever goes for you!" He agreed.

You grinned proudly, suddenly running ahead of him.

"Then lets hurry to guili plains to have our spar!" You dashed, not bothering to look back at him.

"Hey wait up!" He ran towards you from behind.

...

The spar felt so quick, as if its just in a blink of an eye.

He seemed so much more energized than usual. His moves are hard to predict, seems like he is starting to master the bow.

This defeat is actually your fault anyways. If only you were much more focused on the spar, maybe you could've win.

Maybe its because the previous conversation bugged your mind during the spar.

To be honest, deep down, maybe you do really want to go, so you let him win.

...

"Why did you not paid attention?! Y-you're bleeding quite bad.." Childe concernedly lecture you as he tend your wounds.

It evening by the time you two finish the spar.

Unfortunately, you got injured. Quite a lot.

You got injured to how not focused you are during the spar, plus, Childe was too excited.

The silence was your response to the little lecture Childe gave you.

Finished with tending your wounds, he leaned back with his arms supporting him from falling to the back.

"Is there really nothing wrong? Most of the time during our spar you were silent and always stunned for no reason" Childe asked softly.

"Nothing's wrong! I was just not focused.." You admitted and waved both your hands in the air to assure him.

"Ok if you say so.. I wont pry you any further.."

...

"Wait, earlier I won.. So that means I can bring you to my hometown??!" He excitedly asked you.

Both of are already finished and now heading home. Childe insisted on walking you home, so, here you two walking on the path to your house.

"Well that's what we agreed to.." You acted with a "what-a-shame" face and gazed the dirt below your steps.

"That's great! I can't wait to introduce you to everyone! You must've already know abour Teucer right? Well he isnt the only sibling I have! There's Tonia the second youngest in my family! With me as the oldest. And Anthon as the second eldest, Teucer is the youngest between us four" He explained happily.

(His sibling names are cannon. But not for the eldest and youngest order! Not cannon)

'Why is he so excited with me getting to know his family?' You questioned yourself in your thoughts.

...

"Well then comrade! See you tommorow at the harbour! Remember, pack your bags tonight before bed, because were going to Snezhnaya! And oh, please wear and bring warm clothes. But if you don't have them, dont worry! I'll lend you mine! Goodnight!" He reminded as he bid his goodbyes.

"Yea, yea I get it! Bye, have a goodnight to you too" You smiled at him as he waved at you.

It was cold outside, winter has come by! Your campus is quite busy preparing lots of fun events, for the teachers or students.

These circumstances holds you away from home. Or even when you are at home, it wouldnt be long.

Scara, your cat, doesnt seem to notice this, that you are preparing for christmast. He thinks that you are always not home because you hate him or you are enjoying christmast with someone else and not him.

He has to do something to get your attention.

But he doesnt want to seem desperate and needy..

How?

That is what he is thinking now.

Alone at home, a young male figure is plopped down on your couch. He has this weird cat ears and cat tail. His cat ears were down, as he was deep in his thoughts. A frown was on his face, gazing nowhere.

Suddenly, a groan erupted from the male. His hands were on both sides of his head as like a frustrated manner.

He muttered a few curse words as he straightened his pose.

He always admitted that he doesnt enjoy your presence (of course you wont understand because its just "meow"-s), but, why does he wants you here..?

Thats weird coming from him.

His ego always takes over him and would make him say harsh words at you which he didnt actually mean. (again, it would only be harsh "meow"-s).

Footsteps could be heard from the other side of the apartement door, surprising Scara.

With a "poof", he was back in his cat form.

He would be in his human form when you aren't home.

And yes, he never showed you himself in his human form. Just because he doesnt want to confuse you and make you uncomfortable.

He thinks that, a female and a human cat male? Living together? Many things could go wrong!

But wait.. Why is he thinking dirty stuffs about you and him??!

Despite in his cat form, you could still see the obvious flustered face. His cat ears are risen up and his tail was straightened.

He was very flustered, until he forgot that you were coming home. His thoughts were cutted off with a door creaking sound and a large rectangular box you are holding bumping against the door frame.

"Ahh! This is so stressful!" You complainted.

This piqued his attention. His head turned to look at you who was having trouble with bringing the large rectangular box inside.

He really wanted to help.

But what could a small cat do?

Even if he tried to help, it would only be a trouble-making in your eyes.

The only way he could help, is to turn into his human form and help you lift it.

But of course he couldnt do that.

Eh whatever you managed to bring the box in anyways, its already late for him to help.

...

'Ahh..'

After awhile he realizes that you are making a medium sized artificial tree for christmast.

"Haa finally finish! First time having christmast alone" You dusted off your hands and place it on your hips.

You turned to look at Scara who was staring at you with a small frown. He seems to want you to notice something.

"Okay, maybe with Scara" You cleared your words.

His small frown then turned to his normal cocky expression.

You giggled at his behavior and joined him on the couch.

"I'll just decorate it later, Im tired" You exclaimed as you straightened your back on the couch.

It was really cold outside, really. The cold is already freezing you, then you are tired? You should really get a rest.

You stand up to turn on the heater, you are already wearing your sweaters. Yet, the cold isnt dying down.

After turning the heater on, you headed back to the couch and plopped yourself down on the couch.

You turned on the tv.

...

Its been awhile, yet he hasnt receive any of his usual head strokes and hugs. Tho he would never admit, he was actually waiting for it. Especially these times where it is cold.

He'd be lying if he said that he isnt cold. Even he tried to snuck in the blanket you are using to get warm. And to get your attention.

But why wont you notice??!

Does he really have to snuck his head under the palm of your hand like a desperate and needy cat? Does he have to give small licks on the back of your hand? He would never do that!

'...'

Why arent you noticing this?

Look, he even tried to act cute! Like kneading the blanket, just to get your attention.

Are you that focused on the tv?

Or are you that tired?

'..maybe its best not to bother you now..' He thought.

...

It was midnight, you fell asleep on the couch.

The tv was still turned on, noisy tv shows filling the background as you woke up.

Your hair is messy, the blanket is off your body, the palm of your hands are freezing, as well as your feet.

With a slightly blurry vision, you whipped your head towards the clock to check the time. It was very late, 01.34 am.

(Its basically that feeling and situation where you woke up from a late afternoon nap in the middle of the night)

Feeling some weight on your forearm, your attention turned to it.

There on your forearm Scara hanged with his small kitten hands holding onto your forearm. He was so close to slipping off. His small cat body was shivering from the cold.

You quickly got him off your forearm, carrying his fragile body to your bedroom where it is much more warmer.

Both of you moved to your bedroom, not forgetting your blanket.

Entering your bedroom, you noticed that your bed was still tidy, untouched since the morning where you last clean it. Great, you could just jump to bed comfortably now.

The both of you got in bed as you pulled up the blankets against you two.

Scara shifted comfortably, trying to adapt the new feeling of the surface. Upon doing it so, his eyes slightly opened, seeing you on your side facing him.

The distance between eachother's faces was so close. If he were to be in his human form at this situation, he could just close the gap between eachother's lips by shifting to the front slightly.

His thankful thoughts were cutted by your touch as you pulled him into a warm hug.

You rested your head on the crown of his head, between his cat ears, it felt a little bit ticklish. You did this slowly, not wanting to crush him below you.

You were fast to fall asleep.

Meanwhile Scara who was bellow you, facing your neck, was blushing hard.

He doesnt feel cold anymore, he feels very warm. And happy.

He is happy, very happy.

It was usual for the two of you to sleep together. But never like this, not this close.

He was too happy by now to even fall asleep.

He just hopes that this moment will once happen again someday. And better, in his human form <3

chapter 4 - "encounter"

SYNOPSIS

You are just an ordinary college student, having friends, hard projects and surviving on a low budget. Every week, or saturday to be specific, you would come by your favorite cafe in town, Fatui Cat Cafe. It is such a calming and lively place for you after a busy week as a student. In the cafe, there's one cat that despises everyone, except you.

It was very late by the time Childe and Scara arrived at the 24 hour convenient store, they paid no mind to the time.

You were not surprised to see someone this late.

It was supposed to be your time at home, resting. But your co worker asked you a favor to cover his shift for a hour. You were ok with it and just agreed.

Unfortunately, it has been more than a hour and yet he hasnt came yet for his shift.

Well, being a good co worker you are, you decided to wait and cover his shift until he arrives.

You were actually about to celebrate right there behind the cashier counter when you hear the glass entrance door opening, hoping it to be your co worker. But it isnt him.

So here you are crying mentally and slumping into your arm as you wait for the pair of customer to find their grocery pick.

The sound of plastic bags being placed infront filled your ears as you lazily try to wake up with the help of your arms.

You wanted to finish quick. Your vision was already blurry from the lack of sleep.

The screen you are looking at blinded your eyes, it was to bright. As you finish inputting the grocery in the computer the pair bought, you squinted at the price.

It took awhile for your eyes to adjust the brightness and blurryness to see the nominals of the price. But eventually you were able to tell the price to the customers.

As the purple coloured hair customer try to find money in his pocket, the ginger haired person he was with was looking at your face with a confused face. He was also squinting.

The ginger haired started talking, "She looks.. Familiar.." He said as he make a questioning pose and squinted.

"Pfft its probably just you" The other person scoffed as he finally found the money and placing it on the counter.

Acting like you didnt hear their interaction, you just countinued the payment and paid no mind.

That was until you hand back the change to purple haired guy to see that his face was slightly surprised.

You just wanted to give him the payment paper and the change until the ginger haired spoke again.

"Hey! Are you that girl in the viral video of a girl who was able to calm Kuni the cat?!" He taunted as he pointed his pointer finger at me.

You were quite shocked. Despite you being viral, you didnt thought that you would be recognized. And especially this early.

You just nodded shyly.

Meanwhile the purple haired guy's eyes were large as saucers due to how surprised he was. And also if you squint well at his face, you'll be able to notice his slightly, very slightly, red cheeks. (At first you thoght you were just imagining things due to how sleepy you are)

He noticed that you were looking at him as his expression goes back to how it was before.

He just nervously take the payment paper and took out a pen in his hoodie pocket and scribbled something on the paper then leaving it on the counter. He grabbed the grocery and headed out quickly.

Meanwhile me and his friend just stared at the shutted glass door and to eachother's confused faces. But that confused expression on his face suddenly turned into a smug one and he winked at me. He then went to catch up on his friend outside.

You were confused as ever.

You took the paper left by the purple haired guy which was left on the counter.

There on the paper, numbers are written.

You supposed that it was his number. But its late and probably his in a hurry, so you decided to call him tommorow.

...

It was just another morning at your college. But this time you were more tired than usual due to last night.

Your co worker actually came which surprised you because you thought that he wouldnt be coming and it was also nearing the end of his shift. Well, he owe you something now tho.

The teacher on the front is now reminding everyone about the last project, the group project you were half finished.

You then eyed Ganyu who was seated across the room.

With eye movements, it felt like you two are conversing.

The conversation-like interaction then came to an end as she smiled at you and nodded. She then returned her attention back to the teacher infront.

...

It was lunch, you were just taking your books to bring and store it back on your locker on your way to cafeteria.

That was until you heard Ganyu taunting from behind. She seems to be waiting with the group mates, Yun Jin and Keqing.

"Ah y/n, you're here" Keqing greeted. Yun Jin smiled and Ganyu made a little a hand wave towards you.

"So, as you heard before in class, the deadline was shortened due to some campus events coming soon. We really should get our project finished, when are you available?" Keqing countinued seriously.

You nodded, "Im available everyday as long it isnt sunday. And also I cant stay later than evening".

After sometime, you and your group decided the date and time. And once more, the place where you guys will be meeting is at the Fatui Cat Cafe.

Ganyu eventually recommended it again because she find the place nice and calm, a fitting place to do the work. Everyone agreed.

"Y/n!" A feminine voice called you from behind when you are busy packing your bag at your locker to leave the campus.

You turned to see a pink-ish haired girl and long, brown-haired girl running towards you.

'Oh, its Yanfei and Hu Tao.. They are college's best-bestfriends'

"I watched this video with Yanfei and thought it look familiar! You are the first to came into our mind when we see this video, is it really you?!" Hu tao excitedly asked as she showed her phone which was playing the video of you stroking Scara.

You nodded nervously with a crooked smile.

"See! I told you it was her! It just seems very familiar. Now hand me the money fei-fei!" She turned to Yanfei with a proud face. And meanwhile Yanfei sighed at her as she pulled out 10 moras and handed to Hu Tao, she just countinued to giggle.

"But y/n, is it really you? Im really surprised! Its such a wholesome and cute video, how do you managed to calm him down and get him to warm up to you?" Yanfei asked.

You let out a awkward laugh and scratched the back of your neck, "Its really pure coincedence! Afterall, he is asleep. I really have no such intent to actually get him warm up to me, i wanted to feed him, thats all"

Yanfei and Hu Tao let out a long "ohh", they really do share a braincell together.

"Hey y/n! Can we take a selfie together? I really wanna flex to my online friends that the viral girl is actually my friend!" Hu Tao whispered to you mischievously.

"Me too!" Yanfei joined in the selfie.

Hu Tao then looked at the selfie for awhile, "Its great! Thank you once again y/n! Hehe.. Gonna get those people jealous~"

Yanfei just looked at you with a crooked smile, "Were sorry for bothering you y/n, and also Hu Tao's antics".

"Hey??! What did I do?" Hu Tao heard and questioned.

We then laughed together heartfully.

You just arrived home, in the bathroom having a warm, comfortable shower.

Through out the time you are washing, you remembered that purple haired guy's phone number which he left yesterday. You gave yourself a mental note to check it later after you finished showering.

With a towel hanged around your neck and new clothes, you rummaged trough your trouser's pocket you wore yesterday at work.

Founding the neatly folded paper, you sat at the edge of your bed and took out your phone.

You carefully typed in the numbers in your phone's number keypad, making sure no number was not typed or mistyped.

After finishing, you tapped the call button.

At first you were doubting that he would not answer the phone call, which is true.

You really also wanted to talk to this guy and get to know him. You really feel like ringing him once more but you are afraid that you'll disturb his time.

Being brave, you ringed his phone once more.

After sometime of waiting and almost losing hope of him answering, he finally answered.

"Hello?" A masculine voice called from the other end.

"A-ah hello! Im y/n, the cashier staff from last night that you gave your number to" You greeted back.

Some lovey-dovey "ooh"-s was heard from the background sounds. There was a brief silence, only him with muttering cursing words which maybe was towards the guy who made the lovey-dovey "ooh"-s.

We had a great time talking to eachother, from introducing ourselves and to talking about our interests which was far not different.

His name was Balladeer, which is the most beatiful name I've ever heard from being friends with many people for years.

Sadly, our conversation had to be cutted short because he had some bussiness he had to do. He said he is mostly available during night time, especially midnight.

We also already saved eachother's phone number to converse more later.

'I mean, I dont mind staying up late for this guy'

Xiao is having his bad hair day, sir Zhongli wanted to help. Did the help made his day much more worse?

A/N

I know you guys are waiting for a new chapter of "Kitty Cat". But hey, have this fluff! Xiao is jealous of scara having your attention, you know?

Tommorow, students are going to have quiz. Just some brainstorming quiz, nothing hard.

But Xiao doesnt care neither it is just some fun-quiz or not, he needs to get the best grade. He is now studying in his room, without any breaks.

He was just reading some books about the quiz tommorow. Until his attention was broked by a knocking on his bedroom door.

"Xiao?" Said a deep, muffled voice from the other side of the door.

"Come in" He answered.

His door opened revealing sir Zhongli, his adoptive father (which he never considered as), wearing an apron with a tray of water and a bowl filled with almond tofu which he cooked into a snack-like dish in his hold.

Xiao turned his head to the door upon smelling the aroma of the food.

"What is it?" He asked, uninterested, turning back to his book.

"You should rest for awhile, its just some fun-quiz Xiao" Zhongli worriedly told him while placing the water and food next to Xiao.

Xiao didnt answered anything. Instead, he leaned down further to get a better view of his books.

All Zhongli did was just sighing back upon his actions. He then placed a hand on his shoulder and pat it there softly.

"Xiao, I appreciate your determination to get good grades at school. But please rest" He once again lectured him, worriedly.

This time, Xiao only answered with a hum.

His amber eyes dilated from left to right. His face was covered by his long bangs if you look from the side way, how does it not bothering him?

Zhongli noticed this and moved his hand to Xiao's face to tuck his bangs behind his ear.

This action made Xiao turn to look at Zhongli. Staring at him with a stern gaze.

Zhongli only hummed, "Just eat the food I made and dont get dehydrated. I was just tucking your bangs behind your ear to make you have a better vision of the book your reading" Zhongli confessed, as he was reading Xiao's mind.

"Good luck" Zhongli left his side and left his bedroom.

Xiao's gaze lingered awhile at the closed door. He then turned back to his book and countinued studying.

...

Its the next day's morning, Xiao woke up early to review his notes last night.

It the bathroom, he was having trouble with his hair, unable to create a great hair style without having his eyesight disturbed by his bangs.

He was getting frustrated, he already even make a mental note to go to the hair salon after school to have his bangs shortened.

After awhile of being frustrated, he surrendered. He left the bathroom with a frown on his face, brows furrowed hard with messy hair.

He payed no mind to it and went downstairs to have his breakfast.

Zhongli noticed his behavior as he placed down Xiao's breakfast infront of him.

"Having a bad hair day?" Zhongli asked as his back was turned on Xiao. He is washing his hands on the sink.

Xiao only answered with a groan and just started to eat his breakfast.

"Want me to help with your hair? I have some pomade (boy hair styler)" Zhongli offered as he dried his hands with towel.

Xiao answered with an annoyed hum. He actually dont need help with his hair. But what could he do? 'Atleast its better than having messy hair..' He positively thought.

After ahwhile, Zhongli came back with a small jar of pomade he has. He positioned himself behind Xiao and started to style his hair as Xiao countinued his breakfast.

...

"How do you think?" Asked Zhongli as he handed a small mirror for Xiao to check with.

Xiao moved the mirror to left and right to get a better view of his hair. He was quite unsatisfied with his hair. But why does it matter anyways? The pomade had dried up and the only way to restyle his hair is for him to get a hair wash first, which will have him late for his college.

He answered with a hum and a silent "thank you" to Zhongli.

...

He arrived early at school. But not earlier than y/n, his seat mate.

Y/n greeted him with a "good morning" as he moved past behind them to get to his seat. He replied back with a silent "good morning".

"Its nice to see you too Xiao! Have you learned for today's quiz?" You questioned his as you leaned in to the palm of your hand and faced him.

"Yea" He answered as he take out his notes without a bother to give you his attention.

He never have the balls to even face you well, he has this small crush on you. Yes, small, he thought. And in this kind of situation, inside, he would panic. Like, does he look good?! Would you notice the sudden change in his hairstyle?! He has to look good infront of you!

These thoughts run in his head all the time with you being his seat mate. He never really look at you with a focused gaze or without his eyes wandering anywhere than your face when you two are conversing.

Well, with you, you noticed this behavior everytime you two converse. You never payed no mind to it. You thought like: 'ehh, he is introverted anyways. Maybe he is nervous with socializing?'

But today, something look different from him. You squinted at his hair, you were just unable to put your finger on it.

Inside, he was begging for you to not notice his hair as he just countinued with his notes. 'Please.. Please.. Dont notice it y/n..' He silently begs.

"Xiao is it just me or does it seems like theres something different from you?" You questioned him with a confused face.

'Fuck..' He mentally sweared. He was scared that you wont like his hair style.

"It must be you. Im sure theres nothing different from me.." He nervously declined. He raised his book closer to his face to hide his faint nervous blush.

"Really?" You retreated your hand which was previously supporting your head. You slightly tilted your head in confusion.

"I think.. Its your hair!" You exclaimed as you lightly clasped your hands together.

"It seems.. Sweaty? I dont know.. Wet? But it looks quite sticky.." You tried to figure out.

'Sweaty? Sticky?' Xiao was getting panicked by your guessings. He slowly touched his hair bangs.

Well it sure is, Its the pomade. It had melted and become some-like sweat? Maybe its the heat.

He got insecured with his wet-sticky hair, you noticed this.

His bangs was already disturbing his visions, now wet? Thats worse.

You hummed and turned your back on him and searched something in your bag.

After awhile, you found what you were finding, turning back to Xiao with a small pouch of rainbow-coloured hair clips you have.

"Hey Xiao! Pick your favorite!" You taunted at him as you handed the small pouch of rainbow-coloured hair clips.

He was about to decline, when you suddenly forced him to take his favorites once more.

He sighed through his nose and just picked two hair clips with his favorite colours, the turqoise coloured one and yellow.

As he was about to question you, you were quick to take the hair clips he had choosed.

You leaned closer to his face and raised your hands to his hair.

His voice seems to be stucked in his throat, you were too close to his face. He was trying his best to not blush, he doesnt wants you to notice it.

He only closed his eyes and try to calm hiself down as he enjoys your warm touches on his hair. Your warm touch then came to a stop as he heard clipping sound, twice.

He let out a held breath that he even never knew he was holding as he felt your breath of his face. Signaling that your face isnt infront of his anymore.

He opened his eyes and looked at you who was giggling into the palm of tour hand.

"There! I clipped the hair clips on your hair! I hope this way you could have a better vision. Its not the best but atleast its better than having wet-sticky bangs bothering is it?" You assured him after your giggling.

He only hide his face with his hand and nodded slowly.

"You look prettier this way you know? I can get a better view of your face now" You flirted at him as you leaned further into the palm of your hand which was supporting your head.

He just looked away from you to the window beside him. 'Guess I wont be able to have good grades this time with them being in my head..' he thought.

chapter 3 - "the internet cafe's loyal customers"

A/N :

i add a little change to the story. Before, it was Teyvat's Cat Cafe. But I changed it into Fatui's Cat Cafe, due to some stuff. Who knows? Maybe you'll know the story if you match it with the harbingers' actual lore..~

It was dark outside. All shops were closed, some of the are still open. But only a few. The scenery was lonely. Lonely streets were lighted by street lights that light up during the night time.

Next to Fatui Cat Cafe was a dark alleyway, they throw out their garbage and leftovers there.

It was quiet, too quiet. Until there was the sound of a door opening from the dark alleyway.

There was a male coming outside the door. He looked fishy, wearing a cap and is hooded with a black hoodie and is wearing jeans. He has indigo colored hair.

He was busy fixing his attire. When he was about to leave, he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey comrade! What are you doing outside at such a late time?" Taunted a guy with ginger colored hair.

"Back off, dont call me that. And dont be so stupid, you know what im outside for" Said the hooded man coldly, not bother turning to look at him.

"Hmm? Let me guess..~"

"It's neither you going to the internet cafe you usually go to or the 24 hour convenient store" Guessed the guy.

"What? Who told you about this?" Asked the hooded man furiously, turning to look the other man.

"Ahaha! Dont act all surprised Scara, everyone literally knows you leave the cafe every night. Signora saw you walking out of the door" Explained the ginger man, giggling.

Scara just glared at Childe harshly, not answering.

"So? What brings you here then?" Asked Scara again, hands crossed against his chest.

"Hm? Whats wrong with me being outside? I mean, you are even outside yourself" Childe answered and scoffed.

Scara just answered with a "ok" and started to leave him.

"H-hey!! Wait for me!!" Childe shouted from afar as he ran towards Scara.

...

They stopped by an internet cafe, it was usually crowded. But since it was midnight, of course it isnt.

"Its up to you whether you want to rent or not. Also, Im not paying your bill." Scara exclaimed, opening the door.

"Huh??! What do you mean?? I thought you are paying me?? How do even have money??!" Childe asked, surprised.

"I stole it from the cashier" Scara confessed, not feeling any guilty of doing it.

"Hey! You stole it?! I'll report you to master Tsaritsa!!" Childe warned.

"Pfft why should I care? Go on and report it to her, I really dont care. And also, you sound stupid calling her master Tsaritsa." Scara mentioned as he payed for the billing, 1 hour.

As Scara was heading towards the computer he always used, Childe kept on complaining.

...

"Hufff, what do you even need to rent a computer anyways?" Childe sighed and stretched in his seat.

Scara did not answered anything. He countinued on to type on the keyboard for something. On his screen, showed a search bar. He was searching his own name, his intend was to know his reputation on the internet.

The loading took awhile, but it had finished anyways. He clicked his own hashtag, #scaracat.

The very first post on the top, which is the most popular and recently post, was a video. He hovered the cursor to the play button and clicked.

The video started, it was a video of a girl crouching to a black purple-ish cat, she is stroking the cat slowly. The place was familiar, it was the Fatui Cat Cafe.

After a moment of watching he finally realised its him, in his cat form.

He was surprised. Since when did he started to be gentle to someone? Why is he so calm and enjoying the girls touch in the video?

At the end of the video, he woke up suddenly and bit the girl's hand that was stroking him and the video was cutted off.

"Oohh, thats the video from yesterday's feeding with customers event" Childe commented as he saw the screen.

He remembered again the warmth and affection he received in his sleep yesterday afternoon. He thought it was just him feeling things. Well, it sure isnt him.

He scrolled down to the comments and checked, it was all positive comments.

The comments were just dry, like "aww cute!! 🥰🥰🥰😍" or "aww🥺🥺". He expected to meet a comment or two like, "man wish that was me" or "hey women move‼️‼️ my turn❗" or basically just simp comments. But who would simp for a cat??

He still expects like a comment like so, he countinued to scroll down the comments.

He the came across a comment, saying "the girl in the video is @/y/nn". He clicked the tagged user and the page loaded.

Childe on the other hand who was watching the same thing as Scara, is very interested in this girl.

@/y/nn is actually just a normal typical girl who does dance videos or vlogged her day with her friends, nothing special.

Her latest video has many views than her usually views on other videos, maybe because she recently got famous due to being one of the persons to calm him.

The video that got most views was a video of her dancing the newest trend, Casey dance. She isnt like most girls that really showed off their curves with the dance, she still kept her image well and kept her curves covered with baggy and oversized clothing despite the slight explicit dance.

(For those of you who dont know the dance, here's the video)

"Mannn, y/n is pretty~" Teased Childe beside Scara.

Scara only kept on looking on the screen with a slight blush on his cheeks. His cat ears which are hidden and blocked by his cap and hood were twitching to rise up, a sign of him being flustered. His tail was also itching to wag a little.

Childe only looked at him with a smug smile plastered on his face.

...

Eventually their rent time for the computer has ended so they left.

Childe insisted on buying some snack or stuff at the 24 hour convenient store with some money he found on the computer desk he was sitting on, Scara agreed.

chapter 2 - "kuni the cat"

SYNOPSIS

Today was another normal day at college, nothing new. The teacher was absent today, due to some school bussiness he has to do. The teacher told that there is homework to do as he was away. But of course, you paid no mind to it, you could always do it later.

The class was loud, you hate it here. You hoped for some peaceful freetime, but knowing your chaotic classmates, for sure you wont be having the peaceful freetime.

You came over to the class' leader to have her permission of you leaving class for the "toilet". She never really cared about you skipping class anyways, so she shrugged it off and said, "do what you want as long im not involved".

That answer was enough to boil your anger, but you just glanced a cold stare at her and left. You never agreed to her being the head of the class, never. You even wondered how she got voted. It was probably because her own circle friends voted for her, she has a lot of friends anyways. She couldnt even tell her circle friends to shut up during freetime, she could only command those outside her friend circle. (lmao not me complaining abt my class leader in my writing)

Anyways, you are now walking outside in the halls. You wanted to leave school since its the last period for the day anyways. But then you remembered you left your history and science book in class. 'Meh, I mean its just those, I'll just get my bag and other books in my locker and left.' You thought, heading towards your locker.

...

Its hot outside, you are craving for icy drinks or beverages. You cant handle such heat, also slowly being burned by the heat. Cafe the nearest is not that bad, its the cafe you went yesterday, Fatui Cat Cafe, maybe you could eat and drink there.

It was lunch time when you arrived, great timing. You opened the door to be greeted by the cold air from the air conditioner inside. Ah, what a feeling.

You were confused by the situation inside, a corner of the cafe is very crowded. Squishing through the crowd to see, you found out that theres a small event made by the cat take carers. The customers that came during lunch, are able to feed the cat since its their time to eat. And of course, the food is provided, no outside food.

Everyone mostly want to feed Scara. But he literally snarls and bites the hands that comes near him. It was quite amusing watching people being bited and scared by him. You wanted to try yourself, being an ex cat haver. And yes, you used to have a cat when you were younger.

When the crowd slowly dies down, you finally have the chance to feed. You paid for the cat food and tried your luck feeding Scara.

Scara is actually having its nap right now, but the staff told you that its ok to wake him since he havent ate anything for lunch.

You crouched down to his level, and carefully stroke its head. Softly and slowly, he leaned to your touched and purred. When your hand left to grab the treat beside you, he used his paws to grab back your hand to stroke his head again.

You were suprised by this.

He is oddly calmer when asleep. He seems to enjoy your touch as you countinued to stroke his head. By now, a crowd has started due to seeing how he is snuggling on to your palm.

Many muffled talking and whispers from the crowd. Theres also customers that used flash to take a picture or record the moment. These makes Scara woke up with an annoyed groan, making him jolt up suddenly from the palm of your hand with his fangs out.

He misunderstood you for being the one making the noise and bited your hand and ran back to his cat bed.

You hissed by stinging feeling on your palm. The staffs that were watching the scene quickly went to your side with an aid kit and helped treating your wound, which was bleeding.

He would usually bite customerw with fangs slightly out. But due to how annoyed he is, he bited you with his fangs. Fully out.

...

Through out your visit in the Fatui Cat Cafe today, you noticed the other customers whispering and looking at your way. Some also secretly took pictures of you as you eat your meal, you just kept your head down low hoping they wont manage to capture your face. This is creepy.

For sure, you made it into the internet for being one of the people who were able to spend time with Kuni without him being annoyed. Because the internet knows that he was annoyed by the noise, not by you.

You were actually quite happy and proud to be one of the ones who managed to make him enjoy your presence. Despite him being an evil cat towards everyone, he actually had a soft side.

Its another day at the college. The much more worse thing that today is the very first project you will be having. AND its a group project. Its not like you despise group project very much but its just that you find it hard socializing, you would rather done this project yourself.

Now here you are in your seat listening to the teacher's explanation about the project.

It is about art, the project was to make a potrait of something or someone you enjoy spending time with. The person or object you picked then would be mixed with your group mate's pick.

So example: your group mate's pick is cats and yours is gadgets. You could make a painting of a cat using a gadget.

After the teacher finished explaining, she started picking out the groups. You were in a group with Yun Jin, Ganyu, Keqing. 'not too bad..' you thought.

You guys then put your desks next to eachother to discuss.

It was the next day after that. You are now waiting for the others to come outside Fatui Cat Cafe, the place where you guys will be making the art.

It is such a calming and neatly clean place despite it being a cat cafe. The others told you to go on and order what you want first since their still far from the cafe.

You were just scrolling down the social medias upon waiting your group mates to arrive until an unexpected guest came over to your lap, a cat.

It was an orange cat with a little accessory clipped onto its ear. It was also well groomed and clean, very cute. The cat then purred and meowed against the palm of your hand as you slowly stroke its head.

After sometime, the waitress came with your order and placed it on the table.

"Ah! I see that someone seems to like you!" Started the waitress.

You looked up from the cat, "Its so friendly and cute! Is it a female cat?" You questioned the waitress.

The waitress then giggled softly and shakes her head as a "no". "Its a male cat, most customers call him "Childe". Because he is months old for a cat to be looking like a kitten. He is also very friendly and would often come to customers tables!" The waitress introduced.

You then nodded in understandment and hum, averting your gaze back to Childe. The waitress then left.

After some time the rest of the group finally arrived. The project was half done, you guys decide that thats all for today since the sun is setting and many needed to go back to their apartements.

Through out the work, you noticed a black, purple-ish cat that snarls and bites everyone coming its way.

The cat was very cute and you also want to play with it. But judging by the people who tried to pat or play with him, its best to avoid it. They always come back to their table with their fingers painted with bite marks. Theres even a few ones that needed a bandage or treatment to their wound.

Finally arriving at your apartement, you dropped the tote bag you bring by the couch and collapsing your body beside it on the couch aswell.

Breathing heavily, you rose up and checked your phone that you havent opened since afternoon due to the group project you have.

It was night, you knew that tommorow will be another day at the college. But here you are at 2 am in the morning scrolling through the phone looking at cat videos or asmr videos hoping that it could make you sleep.

You then came across a Fatui Cat Cafe post from a customer that took a selfie with a black, green-ish cat, the cat looked grump and also looked like it was forced.

You giggled by the thought and remembered again the black, purple-ish grumpy and evil cat from this afternoon at the cafe.

You heard from a customer conversation that its name was "Scara", a male cat.

His actual name was actually "Kuni". But due to him scaring the customers he was called "Scara" by the customers. From the word "Scare". People on the internet like to call him "Evil Black Cat" or "That One Cute Black Cat".

He is quite popular in the cafe or the internet. He is also one of the reasons that Fatui Cat Cafe is famous. You do agree that he is cute. But he has a cocky and bad additude towards his fans or the customers at they Fatui Cat Cafe, so minus points for that.

After sometime you are finally able to fall asleep at 02.30 am, remembering you have another day tommorow at the college. This isnt the first time you slept late, this is even nothing to you being a night owl.
