Exactly. | And do you really think the 2028 election is going to be any different? or the 2032 election? Once Trump dies, someone just as fashy is going to take his place. You're on this two-party slide to the bottom indefinitely unless you find a way to stop it.

If the past decade has taught us anything it's that voters cannot sway the democrats to do anything as long as 'blue no matter who' continues to exist. Why would they ever be swayed if they never really have to worry about losing our votes? The only time when we have any 'sway' over politicians is close to election day and the only threat we have is not voting for them. It's very weird to push people to go easy on Biden during the one moment in 4 years when voters have the slightest sliver of an opportunity to influence his behavior.

It is important to understand that there is a conspiracy theory that could push your particular buttons and get you, there is a cult that could offer you the right support at the right moment and get you.
Thinking 'this can't happen to me' plays a big role in not noticing when it is in fact happening to you.
Plenty of highly intelligent people end up getting sucked in to cults because they just wanted people to hang out with. There are antivaxxer nurses. Your ability to act on empirical reason breaks down fast if your social and emotional needs aren't being met.

Who is even asking for credit for their antifascist fliers? Folks, anonymity is your friend.
reposting other people's fliers, art, and PSAs without credit isn't very based of you
We're happy to credit artists whenever we know who the artists are. Fliers & PSAs don't tend to be things that groups who put them out ask for explicit author credit when they're shared, but if a group asks for that, we're also happy to do that. If there's a specific post you're referring to, why don't you tell us which one and who the artist is?

& those genetic traits didn't come from our innate bond to nature or some shit like that. They came from humans eating poison and dying, and over time humans who recognized and disliked the taste of poison had a better chance of staying alive. And they're not even effective enough on their own. If we weren't taught by our elders to be careful which plants we eat and to pay attention to those tastes, most of us would still die.

This could do (maybe the longer version does?) with a disabled perspective and a chronically ill perspective.
Many things that are not luxuries for sick and disabled people require to survive someone else to crawl into a mine to collect the necessary materials.
Our profit-driven 'civilization' is barely providing these things for disables people, whatever community replaces it needs to get better at providing these things and should not rely on people getting for themselves what they need.
Technology is much more than just luxuries and a utopia that doesn't have a plan on how to do technology is a utopia in which disabled people are not able to exist.
"If people were no longer compelled to go to work to survive, some (many) jobs would cease to exist. If you demand a particular luxury good, you will need to crawl into the mine yourself to gather and collect the necessary materials. Don’t expect others to risk their lives and health for your comfort. It is a sign of the prevailing degree of naivete that we cannot imagine that a food forest could feed us, but that many still believe every imaginable technology will magically produce itself and rain down from heaven."

#side note but the anarchist slogans rendered in default microsoft word fonts on the last page are hysterical#”eat the rich” in fucking papyrus#also what did op mean by “please be careful” thats not helpful advice
A lot of this document looks super outdated, not just the fonts. I'm guessing either the FBI is hilariously out of touch, or parts of this has been copy-pasted from older versions of the Domestic Terrorism Symbols Guide.
The latter seems the most likely to me. This stuff isn't new and I don't expect this particular version of the guide to change anything about our reality on the ground.
They have always seen us as terrorists, because if you define terrorism as 'defying the state-monopoly on violence to pursue a political end', anarchists absolutely are.
IMPORTANT!!!
I’ve only seen like one person talk about this and it’s super important that this gets out there
Multiple punk symbols and sayings have been added to the FBI’s domestic terrorism guide
Things included are
The symbol for anarchy
ACAB and 1312
The three arrows pointing down in a circle
Eat the rich
Those are a few but it also mentions anything anti-fascist and anti capitalist
So if you live in the US please be careful

i saw your post about one of your 'prepper' skills being stuffed animal making. do you have any more like this? i try really hard to be disaster prepared without falling into Prepper Dude mindset (and i was raised by one, so its especially hard) and its so hard to find resources outside of that sphere of the internet
I find it helpful not to try to imagine some vast possible apocalypse but to start with the smaller disasters that are more likely to precede it: what could I do during a flood? an earthquake? a killer heatwave with vast forest fires? a war? Forget zombie movies and look at what happens during actual disasters.
In these situations, rescue and shelter of large groups of displaced people will be our first priorities. Some of the skills we will definitely need within the first weeks and months are:
All medical skills as well as medicine production skills.
Plumbing and water filtration
The engineering skills to get life saving devices (medical devices, communication, air filtration, etc) up and running and to hook up generators, solar panels, heat pumps, etc.
Child care skills and toy production
Psychological care and community skills, particularly trauma prevention, conflict resolution and recreation.
Food preservation like canning, curing, drying, storing. Since getting actual food production going will take months and is season dependent, our first priority will be to make everything that isn't shelf stable into shelf stable goods.
I am just one person and I'm probably overlooking a lot of things. Luckily I will not have to do this alone and it is fine if I can only do parts of a one or two things on this list.
(The things I can do on this list are sewing stuffed animals, first aid, food preservation and trauma prevention work)

The problem with this take is that it's trying to turn a system problem into an individual problem (and then slapping a wholy inaccurate 'class traitor' label on it).
The strong ties of art to income do limit the potential of art to be a radical source in society. If you want any proof on that you do not need to look at the higher ups: simply compare the content on Gaza (or lack thereof) by online content producers who are living off their content through patreon or sponsors, and those who are not. The gap in willingness to tell the hard truth is pretty noticeable, with some brave exceptions.
Content producers themselves also regularly admit censoring themselves or avoiding topics to protect their bottom line. It Could Happen Here has talked about how hard it was to get space to produce pro-Palestinian content within Coolzonemedia.
For something as potentially liberating as art, that is a real issue. It's an issue art has always had and it's an even bigger issue in journalism.
Should the individual artist live in poverty and refuse to make money off art to solve that issue? Fuck no. Individualist 'solutions' like that do not do shit except turn people against each other for no fucking reason.
Why does "you're a class traitor to want to make money from your art" apply only to artists? it's fascinating. Are you a class traitor to not want your labor stolen in other ways also. Who are you people

Don't talk to any press about shit like this tbh (and don't talk about it on posts with 11.000 notes either, journalists are here).
Support each other, inform each other through private channels. It's up to us to keep each other alive, always has been.
Tumblr media
I've seen several sites mention this, it's real.
Do not make the MISTAKE of thinking you need to put your side forward. The Guardian is transphobic as fuck, and will twist your words. DO NOT ENGAGE.
By the way, this is in the aftermath of the Cass Report, and the goal will be to make Trans DIY something that needs to be regulated or stamped out. DO NOT ENGAGE.

To recognize TERFs, anti’s, fash, incels and other internet shitstains, one pattern you need to recognize is this:
They take some normal human behavior
Explain it in the darkest, most bad faith way possible
And then ignore any other, often more realistic, explanation.
A simple example:
A lot of adults watch TV shows about high school relationship drama.
Dark bad faith take: all these adults are obsessing over teenager sex lives because they want to fuck teenagers.
More realistic explanation: a lot of adults have memories of their own high school relationship drama that they like to relive, process, etc through media.
Another realistic explanation: People can empathize with the stories of hobbits, dragons, defense lawyers, plucky detectives, space rebels, talking dogs and teenagers in high school without always having a desire to fuck the characters involved. It is possible to just enjoy a story as a story without it fulfilling some emotional of sexual need.
Like, when you take a tiny step back, it becomes clear that the jump from ‘adults watch high school dramas’ to ‘they all want to fuck teenagers’ is absolute moon logic.
This logic only works if you assume the absolute worst possible things about the group you’re talking about. This logic works if the only lens you can see a group through is ‘predator’ and you do not acknowledge that they are completely humans who can just do non-predatory things like ‘enjoying stories’.
And assuming the absolute worst possible things about a specific group while denying their complexity and humanity… well, that is absolutely key to what TERFs, anti’s, fashos, incels, etc. do.
