I think one reason ableism is so prevalent is because it requires able bodied people to ditch the invincibility complex that acts as their security blanket. Anyone can become disabled at any time. No one is immune to the possibility. Letting yourself truly understand means facing your own mortality, which makes people extremely uncomfortable. But it is absolutely necessary in the fight for accessibility. Discomfort fuels change, and we need change.

Hi this is a Vash who spent a thousand years locked in Knives' tower in July having plant babies in exchange for peace.
And FUCK him. FUCK that specific Knives for how he treated me, how he was GOING to treat our children. He tried to hit one of our kids once and I wasn't having it, I said "if you're gonna hit the kids don't hit the kids hit me" and he did! He did! Bastard!
Every time one of the kids fucked up in a way that he would have punished them for, he kinda looked at me and I was like 'well I know what I'll be doing later!' FUCK him.
I don't think any of the kids ever figured out he was hitting me instead of hitting them though, even after they grew up, and I'm glad they didn't. Because that would mean that they knew they had the kind of father who would hit them.
Fuck him. Fuck that man.
