Why we keep doing this. Like rest of the world is like "I think genocide is bad idk" and the us and like 3 other countries are always like "um! Actually not really!" And it voids everything

If someone's house burned down, do we ask if they can afford the fire department?

If one house can be saved, and all the adjacent buildings can be saved, we see that as a good proposition. No one goes bankrupt or loses all their possessions. The cost of the fire department is socialized.

Same thing with health care. By keeping one person healthy, you are helping a family, you are helping parents. If everyone could avoid medical bankruptcy, no one would lose their savings, their homes.

But, alas, we must provide profits to private insurance. Feed the shareholders.

We are failing to do the basics in order to give more advantages to the most advantaged.
