The Australian Reptile Park has released a 20-second clip of the newest tiny addition to its king brown snake family taking its first breath and people are losing their cool over how cute the baby reptile is.
The video was shot by the park’s head of reptiles and venom, Billy Collett, and captured the youngling in what looks like a mid-yawn. We wonder how long before this newborn loses its “cuteness” — king brown snakes are one of the longest venomous snakes in the world. (Source)
The phonetic alphabet was developed as a way to spell things out over radio communications that may be less then ideal, I.E. a lot of static or weak signal. All the words were chosen because they have a distinct sound that is easy to pick out. Military and police communications use the phonetic alphabet heavily and can be helpful to know for talking over CB’s or FRS (walky talky) radios.
at work we have a family of three huskies who come in for daycare and everyone calls them “the mafia” it makes me so happy because occasionally out of nowhere someone over the radios will say “we’re sending in the mafia” and then three huskies barrel their way inside and usually slip and fall on the tile ajfjajg
