Detective x Thief Things
still the funniest request I've ever gotten. warnings: stealing, cursing, violence mention, death mention, as expected.
THINGS:
Cryptic notes stuck on door cabinets, laptop cases, foreheads. Always with a clue of where the thief will appear next.
The detective cornering the thief against their kitchen counter, hands placed on either side of their body.
^ “Tell me what you did.” “It’ll come at a cost.”
Meeting in a dark alley, pleading for the thief’s help. After all, they’re the only one who knows the in’s and out’s of the building.
“Mind I steal a kiss, detective?”
“We can’t be seen together. Not here.”
The thief pickpocketing the detective’s badge.
^ “What a pretty thing.” “Hey—give me that!”
Pressed against an alleyway, hiding from mutual enemies.
A kiss to throw off onlookers, hand braced behind the other’s head.
“I hate you,” whispered breathlessly.
^ “For some reason, I don’t think that’s true,” responded in the same way.
Minting the thief a key so they stop breaking into the detective’s house.
“There’s a door. Use it.”
Sacrificing their job, either the thief or the detective, for the other.
“When you run, do not look back, detective.”
Discussing confidential case evidence on off-days; the detective not bothering to hide any of it, because they know the thief will find it regardless.
“They’re bad news, honey.” “Last time I checked, you were, too.”
The thief steals a prized possession to bargain for the detective’s life.
“Is this what you want?” “Hand it over.” “Only if you hand [him] over.”
Other officers came up to the two of them, “Oh, is this your [boyfriend]?” and having to lie, saying that they’re just friends when in reality, this is the thief the whole station had been after for months.
On the quiet nights, staging robberies to get the detective’s attention.
The thief breaking into the police station to convince the detective to go home for the night.
“This took you longer than—oh, are you all right?”
^ Subsequently helping the detective get home after they fall asleep on their desk.
Agreeing to lay off the crimes until the detective gets their share of work under control.
A vow to give up thievery for the other.
A vow to give up chasing them for the other.
“Nobody can know.” “And? I’m used to that, dear.”
Awkward family meetings when the inevitable question comes, “what do you do for a living?”
Excuses that grow dumber and dumber—at some point, it becomes a game to see how many people can be fooled into believing the most outrageous occupations.
“Testify against them. Please.” “I will be jailed for this.” “Better than being killed, dammit.”
The thief quits their job to be a detective alongside their beloved. (somebody tag me omg, I may have to write this one)

Realizing You're in Love with Your Best Friend

Instinctively ordering their takeout order.
An ache in their chest when the other half’s gone.
Remembering the little things about them: their favorite color and shade, flower, food, drink, word, things that only someone who really cared would note.
Anticipating every little touch—a brush of hands, ankles under the table, lips against cheeks.
The long process of fighting off dating accusations, only to think that maybe it wouldn’t be so bad.
“Platonic” prom dates.
“Platonic” wedding dates. (You know the trope).
Putting them as your first emergency contact, only to realize their importance.
Memorizing the shade of their eyes.
Late-night, existential crises, and how you couldn’t do this with anyone else.
Flowers on Valentine's Day.
Little notes slipped into backpacks, pillow cases, on bathroom mirrors, lunchboxes.
That kind of laughter that pinches your sides and leaves you breathless.
A sour taste in your mouth, seeing them with someone else; additionally, realizing why that sour taste is there.
Fake-dating. 👀
Dancing, stepping on each other’s toes, laughing, the thought that they are so damn cute.
Realizing your will to get into physical fights for them.
Feeling “platonic” emotions when they stand up for you.
Reserved smiles. Just for you :)
The realization of what effect they have on you when their breath leaves shivers on your spine.
Video-gaming, and play-yelling at each other. The absolute joy of being with someone else, and how you’d very much like to spend the rest of your life with them.
Study-dates. They are willing to put their time aside to help you and help?
Man, you’d really love a SO with the exact same traits as them.

Hi! Do you have any prompts for an OTP during a thunderstorm, and one of them is afraid of thunder? Dialogue, actions, and scenarios, are all acceptable in my book!
OTP Thunderstorm Prompts
howdy! can do! kept this one to scenarios and dialogue, hope that's okay :) warnings: fear of thunderstorm.
SCENARIOS:
1) It’s storming and I’m terrified, you hold the covers open for me.
2) You cup your hands over my ears to drown out the thunder.
3) Even though you’re a terrible singer, you burst out in song if only to distract me for a few seconds.
4) Held against your chest, you keep me so tight that I don’t have room to shake.
5) I scream at a flash of lightning/rumble of thunder and you run into my room.
6) In my previous relationships, I’ve been told this fear is childish. You make me feel like it isn’t.
7) I’m scared of the dark, and in turn, scared of the storms. You buy me a portable lantern to always have some sort of light.
8) Every time it storms, I don’t even have to text you before you’re knocking on my bedroom door, concerned.
9) With you by my side, we work through my fear of thunderstorms.
10) I fell asleep, a storm raging, with your hand carding through my hair.
