Unexpected Results
James was toiling in his lab, as per usual. His assistant Riley was waiting patiently at her usual post by the fire extinguisher and first aid kit, making bets in her mind about exactly how long it would be before either, or both, were needed. She laughed quietly to herself as various incidents over the past seven years flashed through her mind, starting with the first day she'd ever met the man who had since become her friend.
~~~~~~~~~~~
She had been running late, on her way to interview for the assistant position she now held. She hadn't had much hope for actually getting it, seeing as she was just a Statistics major in the masters program, but it had seemed easy enough and she'd really needed the money. It had been raining hard that day, not unusual weather for late April, especially in southern Louisiana, but Riley had forgotten her umbrella. As a consequence, when she finally arrived at the small warehouse like lab where her interview was taking place, she looked more like a sodden sheep dog than the confident young professional she had been when she'd left her apartment.
James had run the interview himself, offering her a towel and some tea to calm her nerves. She'd refused, she'd never liked tea much, and they'd shared a laugh over coffee, turned out James didn't care much for tea either. It had been the first of many similarities they'd discovered over the course of the interview. The interview itself lasted almost three hours, though it could hardly be called that after the first half hour. They'd discussed everything from comics to the sci-fi shows they both enjoyed. By the end of it, he'd offered her the job and asked her out to coffee the next day. He'd given her his umbrella on the way out, joking that he wouldn't want to lose the best candidate he'd met to a cold.
From the next day on, they had become fast friends. It had been a little hard for her at first, getting used to his moods and strange bouts of what she liked to call “engineer rage”, but eventually they developed a nice rhythm. She would bring him a caramel mocha and two glazed donuts every morning and sit at the small table in the corner of the large room and eat her chocolate lucky charms while watching him set up his equipment. She had started out trying to get her food and coffee out of the way before heading into the lab, but that had proved far more problematic than she'd expected so she'd taken to keeping some of her dishes and food in the small kitchenette that James had at the lab.
Since then it had been the same routine every day. She'd always had plans of bringing in appliances, a waffle maker, a griddle, maybe some cooking utensils and a hot plate, but she'd never gotten around to it. Besides, James used so much of the lab's power that any appliances she used would probably have tripped a breaker somewhere and wrecked one of his experiments, which would have sent him into a tail spin that would probably have gotten her fired.
It was about a year in when the first of many accidents occurred. James had been working on some kind of anti gravity theory, building a rig of concentric rings that a person could, theoretically, strap themselves into and have a kind of anti gravity field put around them. It hadn't come to anything, due in large part to the fact that the rig exploded during the first test run, but also, James had said, to a miscalculation in his equation. The explosion wasn't anything too damaging, mostly just a lot of smoke and a few flying screws, but the blast wave was enough to knock James back into his desk.
He'd received three broken ribs and a few cuts and bruises from the blow, most of which Riley had treated herself while the ambulance was on route, but that was when James had decided to make her his official first aid assistant. It was added to her list of duties that she would treat all minor cuts, sprains, abrasions and burns that he acquired during all of his experiments. She'd refused at first, saying, truthfully, that she had no experience what-so-ever with first aid, but he'd insisted, saying he trusted her to know when professional medical attention was needed and when he was, to use his words, just being a baby about it.
~~~~~~~~~~
And that was how things had been for the past seven years. She'd slowly become inured to all of his many moods, learned to ignore when he would shout at thin air like there was someone else to blame for the mistakes he made, laughed at all the small swears he'd invented for every knocked knee and stubbed toe. She'd learned how to treat everything from paper cuts to minor burns, how to wrap sprained joints and how to soothe the sometimes infantile whining that James would go through whenever he got injured.
All of this flashed through her mind as she watched him prance around his most recent creation. She'd never quite understood the concept behind it, something about the “mulit-universe theory” and breaking through walls, but she'd tuned him out when he'd started into the details of the science behind how it was supposed to work. She'd tried multiple times to explain to him that she understood numbers and numbers only, but he seemed to think that since she understood the statistics of the situation, she would also understand the quantum theory that sparked it. All she knew for sure was that he was about to flip the switch that would turn it on and she should probably be ready to put out any fires that cropped up after the inevitable explosion.
“This is it Rye, I can feel it! This one is gonna work!” He shouted from the other side of the room, rubbing his hands together as he eyed the giant lever he'd attached to the machine. He'd always had a fondness for the kind of machines you'd see in old monster movies, lots of Tesla coils and enormous switches that sparked as they were activated. Riley had a pet theory that they were part of the reason his experiments always failed.
“Oh most definitely, I can feel it in my bones.” She gave him a thumbs up, keeping her hand on the extinguisher. He seemed to miss the sarcasm that laced her words as he returned the thumbs up and heaved on the lever, setting off a shower of sparks and the hum of machinery coming to life. She braced herself, waiting for the boom and the shock wave, but she was met with nothing but the quiet whir of computers and the whine of metal on metal as the rings on the machine began to spin. It was set up like something out of a sci-fi novel, three sets of concentric rings, rotating so fast that the indentations in the metal seemed to blur out of existence.
The first and third ring were spinning clockwise but the middle ring was spinning counter-clockwise, creating a kind of optical illusion of the diameter of the whole thing shrinking and growing as it spun. After a minute she began to relax, taking her hand off the fire extinguisher and edging slowly toward her chair, watching as James ran to the rings, shouting in victory as a small blue orb began to form in the middle, slowly growing until an image became visible.
“It's working! Riley, it's working! Aha!” He threw a fist in the air, doing a strange little dance that he'd coined his “victory dance”. He'd been saving it for the day one of his theories paid off.
“James, focus! What happens next?” She shouted over the growing roar of the machines. It didn't sound like something a working piece of machinery should make, but the scientist in the room didn't seem worried so she tried to put it out of her mind, focusing instead on the image that was slowly growing inside the ring. It seemed like empty sky to her, something that you could walk outside and see, but James was acting like it was some kind of ground breaking sky line that no one had ever seen before.
“Right, of course, thank you. Now we see where we came out at.” He started slowly toward the image, still growing, opening to reveal a strange sky line of beautiful buildings. They were of a construction she'd never seen before, all gilt golden spires and high arches. But the thing that really caught her attention was the flat, bridge like crystal that stretched through the arches toward the skyline. It was the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen, shining in all the colors of the rainbow under a sun so big and bright that it didn't seem real. There appeared to be things flying in the air. They looked like old style ships, wings on the edges, curved hulls and no sails. But they weren't in the water, they were flying just under the bridge, the figures inside barely large enough to register as lines against the back drop of the sky.
James started shouting again, whooping and jumping around, calling out a name, though Riley couldn't hear it over the near deafening roar coming from the portal. He was recounting all the details he could see, telling her to write them down, though it was useless as he was doing that himself. He was talking about how clear it all was, like he could just step through, though he'd said that was impossible. That had been the one part of the explanation she had understood, mostly because it was the one part she'd been worried about. He'd assured her more than once that this portal was nothing but a window, a way to see into the other dimensions that existed along side their own while remaining safe from any environmental differences or threats that may be in them.
She kept this in mind as she took a few tentative steps forward, her eyes glued to the small ship in the portal, mesmerized by the way it seemed to sail through the air, avoiding shots fired from another ship that was coming up behind it.
“What is it? Where is this at?” She came even with James, her eyes moving over the scene as more questions began to form.
“I have no idea. It's some kind of Earth like environment from what I can tell. Blue sky, blue water, green leaves, all indicative of an oxygen rich atmosphere. Other than that, I got nothing. This is the fun part, just sit back, watch and investigate.” He pulled up a chair, sitting down with his notebook on his knees, jotting down notes almost constantly.
“Are they supposed to be getting bigger? I mean, they aren't gonna hit the portal thing are they?” She watched as the ship grew bigger, seemingly headed straight for them.
“No, they'll just pass right through it, they can't even see it, it's just an invisible little window, like a pocket dimension that only goes one way.” He gestured as he spoke, talking more with his hands than he was with his lips. But none of it seemed to put Riley at ease. She had a feeling, something she'd learned to trust a long time ago, that something was about to happen. It was this feeling that propelled her back to the fire extinguisher and first aid kit, still set out on the table.
As she opened her mouth to voice her concern to her friend, a kind of ringing began, just on the edge of her hearing, growing slowly until both James and Riley were doubled over, backing away from the portal, hands over their ears as if that could stop the pain. It was enough to have tears streaming from her eyes, her own cries added to the din. It rose to a fever pitch as the vessel in the portal drew even with the it and then the world exploded around her. It was like a million windows shattered all around her at the same time, showering her with the fragile, high pitched sound of shards exploding outward as the ship flew straight through the set of rings. The rings themselves, true to form, followed suit and promptly flew apart, scattering metal and plastic all over the room. The last thing Riley knew, before darkness took her, was the sound of metal grinding against concrete and the sound of four other bodies dropping to the floor.
~~~~~~~~~~
“Answer me mortal. Where are we?” The shouting was what drew her out of her unconscious, where she'd been happily working her way through a mountain of nice boring paper work. She was greeted with much more light than she was used to in the lab and the sound of booted feet coming close to her.
“Brother, calm yourself, there is another over here.” This voice was different than the one who had been shouting. It sounded kinder, though no less foreign. She felt arms wrap around her knees and shoulders, lifting her from the floor and onto the table. A face swam into her vision, blurry at first. She saw a tousle of blond hair and, as her vision began to sharpen, very handsome features. “Ah, you are awake, good.” He stepped away, letting her sit up on her own.
“What happened?” She shook her head, trying to clear it of the fog that remained.
“Riley, are you ok?” James appeared at her side, followed closely by another stranger, this one almost the exact opposite of the blond who'd put her on the table. He was still handsome, more so than the blond, but he seemed harder, colder, his eyes didn't have the same kindness in them that the blond one had and his hair was much darker, a shade of black she'd only ever seen on the goth kids she used to see around campus.
“Yeah, I think so, just kinda fuzzy. What happened? Who are these guys? Why are you bleeding?” She reached out to his face, wiping blood from the sides of his face.
“Enough! Explain, now.” The black haired one pulled James around to face him.
“I…I don't know. None of this makes sense. This shouldn't have happened. We had a window into your world, but it was just a window. Nothing should've been able to come through.” He babbled out all the relevant facts he could, holding his hands up in the air like that would defuse the whole situation.
“Window, what do you mean?” A woman's voice piped up from just out of Riley's field of vision, drawing her gaze to a slim young woman standing in the wreckage of the ship she'd been admiring in the portal. She seemed like she'd been recently ill, or still was. She was pale and her eyes were shining feverishly.
“Well, it's a theory I've been working on. It's based on the Multi-verse theory. I built a machine that could create kind of a pocket dimension, a one way window into other universes. It was supposed to be completely nonexistent on your end. Something happened that made it a door, but the portal wasn't meant to act that way.” He took the explanation as an excuse to move away from the still glowering brunette that was looking ever more murderous.
“Wait. So you actually built an interdimensional portal? How?” The woman seemed to perk up at his explanation, stepping out of the ship and walking toward him. As they neared each other, the ringing resumed, skipping over the build up, exploding in Riley's mind as the portal appeared in the remains of the rings, showing another area, desolate and barren of any sign of life, save for two figures.
One was pale, skin white as a sheet of paper, wearing black armor. The other was monstrous, taller than any human she'd ever seen and black as volcanic rock. His skin seemed to have almost the same texture as well, seeming more like stone than flesh. They were looking at the portal, walking toward it as though they meant to pass straight through. The pale one got close enough that Riley could see his eyes, staring into her soul with a kind of hatred that made her blood run cold. He reached out, inches from her world as the portal snapped shut again, taking the ringing with it.
“James, what the hell was that? I thought the damn thing was broken.” She tried to keep the anger out of her voice, knowing that he would be shaken already, but this had never been in her job description, and friend or not, she was not prepared to handle this kind of thing.
“I have no idea. The portal shouldn't be able to open without the apparatus to power it.” He turned to her, his whole body shaking, his eyes already swimming with unshed tears.
“Unless the tear you made is unstable.” The woman was at his side in an instant. He turned to her, his eyes taking on the brightness she'd seen whenever he was around another scientist and the conversation dissolved into something she couldn't hope to follow.
“Oh great.” Riley slid forward, stepping down onto the floor and checking her balance before moving to the small fridge. She pulled out a bottle of Dr. Pepper, leaning against the counter with a sigh. “So, while they work themselves up, how about some details? What happened on your end?” She directed her questions to the blond one, not wanting to provoke the brunette any further.
“Nothing more than what I assume you saw. We were flying our ship away from our home and then we went through some sort of tunnel. It was very loud, like a ringing in my ears, and then we were here. If my brother had not stopped the ship when he did, we would have been injured.” He seemed genuinely confused, not surprising considering what he'd just gone through, but her instincts told her there was more to this than what they'd seen.
“What is your name, Mortal.” The brunette fixed her with a withering stare.
“It's Riley, Riley Mitchell. What about you?” She crossed her arms over her chest, cocking a hip out as she felt her inner bitch rising to the surface.
“I am Loki.” He drew himself up to his full height, taking on a kind of regal air, though it seemed a little tarnished.
“Right, okay.” She turned, setting her soda on the counter and sighing.
“You do not believe us.” The blond laughed as he walked closer.
“Yeah, no kidding.” She turned back, trying to force a smile as she walked past him to where her coat was hanging, digging a pack of cigarettes and her Zippo lighter out of the inside pocket. She had it in her mouth and lit before either of the men could blink.
“Riley! You know it hate it when you smoke in here.” James shouted from across the room, not even turning.
“And I hate it when apparently fictional characters pop into your lab space but it didn't stop you!” She shouted back.
“Fictional? What do you mean?” Loki walked toward her, his threatening air backing down in the face of a mystery.
“You guys, Loki and I'm assuming Thor, you guys aren't real, at least, not here. I mean you exist in the old Norse religion as well as in a really long running comic book series, but there are no real people called Loki and Thor. Actually, come to think of it, you guys look a lot like the movie versions of your characters.” She tapped the ash off her cigarette, taking in the details of Loki's face.
“Movie? What is a movie?” Loki asked, narrowing his eyes slightly at her questions his existence.
“It's a form of media, a series of rapidly moving pictures paired with a sound track, all captured by cameras and put together in a studio, and none of this is making sense to you is it?” She took a long drag from her cigarette, laughing softly as the strangeness of the situation set in on her.
“Okay guys, I know you probably have a lot of questions, but I cannot do this right now. I'm gonna leave you with the scientist, he's got more knowledge about this stuff.” She dropped her cigarette, crushing it under the heel of her boot and grabbed her coat and keys, shouting a farewell to James before all but running out of the lab.
I loved it so much
Cold winter days, a lonely woman on a bench, a stranger in the park...
An Encounter in Winter ❄️
Tumblr media
Loki and female reader
18+/adult themes/talking/flirting/slow burn/fluff/angst/smut (eventually)
A/N: this is a Loki x female reader AU. It's the most personal story I've written so far and I put my whole heart, blood, sweat and tears into it. It's a story about love and my protagonists talk a lot with each other. It's a slow burn but eventually, there will be smut.
I've never been to New York or Norway, all my descriptions are fictionalized. Also, my usage of MCU facts is incorrect and I don't delve deep into details here. I use it as I need it for my little story you hopefully like and enjoy!
This fic mentions an accident and alcoholism but only in one chapter. Descriptions are vague and not detailed. If any of it should trigger you, please don't read. Every chapter will have a warning if necessary.
Some things here are heavily inspired by @lokisprettygirl 's writing. Loki smelling like sandalwood and the overly sensitive lines on his skin when he's in his Jotun form are things I read in her fics first (HMN and TNSATSI). A big thank you to you, my friend, for being in agreement that I'm using it in my fic here, too. And also a big thank you for your constant support and encouragement. You know how much it means to me.
Chapter 1
Chapter 2 here
It was a cold winter afternoon, Christmas day and New Year's Eve only a few weeks away. This year it was already very cold in New York City and you had to wear warming, cuddly winter clothing for your daily walks in the park. Today you chose a knee-long woollen black dress that hugged your body perfectly, warm stockings, a pair of warm leather boots, a thick black winter coat, a big-sized fluffy scarf in shades of green and your favourite knitted beanie with the dark green big bobble…and not to forget your matching knitted gloves.
Warnings: none so far, just some flirting
After you got dressed, you were on the way to the park. Walking to that place and spending some time there after work became a ritual for you since you moved to this city around springtime. Your favourite place there was a bench at the little lake and you loved to sit there, especially when the sun was shining.
You had a fantastic view over the lake here. There was also a large lawn where people could sit, do sports or have a picnic and there was plenty of space for children to run and play safely. You loved to sit on that bench, secretly you called it yours, and you loved to watch the people here being happy and having fun. Somehow it warmed your heart to see all the couples in love flirting with each other or the families on their Sunday walks. You could have had it too, all of it but … it wasn't meant to be. Not for you.
After everything that happened and went wrong in your life, you had the urgent need to leave your hometown. You needed that distance from your old life. You had worked in many different big cities like London, Berlin, Oslo and you never had any trouble finding a job.
And now it's New York. You hadn't gotten the job you originally wanted to get but it was fine for now. Most important for you was that this city had the right measure of distance to your previous home. Besides, there was no one left there who would worry about you. It seemed you were destined to be alone so you couldn't disappoint or hurt anyone anymore.
Now in the winter time, the shallow lake was completely frozen and the first snow had already fallen. The kids built snowmen with their friends or their parents, had snowball fights or made snow angels. Some people enjoyed ice skating on the lake. It made you smile when you saw how much fun they had.
You let your gaze wander over the scenery and you soaked up every beautiful moment of it as you did every single day when you were sitting here. It always calmed you down from your stressful job and it was also a calming distraction in general.
On the bench next to yours sat a man, watching the lake and the people like you were doing, an old married couple and their dog were walking past you and you greeted each other kindly. When you began to freeze you decided to go back home. You were hungry and tired and after a hot shower, you went to sleep.
The next day at work was a very hard one. Your job as a medical assistant at a medical care centre exhausted you more and more recently, there were so many people to take care of. So today's walk in the park was extremely welcomed.
When you had taken a seat on your bench you first soaked up the peaceful atmosphere. You closed your eyes and took several deep breaths and you felt better immediately. Your gaze wandered around and on the bench next to yours sat a man again. Wasn't that the same man as yesterday? You weren't sure and you didn't think about it further.
His gaze wandered around and he watched the people in the park. He enjoyed the atmosphere here, it calmed him down in a pleasant way yesterday and so he decided to come here more often. It was a good distraction for him from the hard and strenuous trips and missions he has to make regularly.
On the bench next to him sat a woman. Wasn't that the same woman as yesterday? It should be you, you wore the same unique beanie with the big dark green bobble. He will be here again tomorrow. Maybe you'll be here again too.
The next few days went by in the same routine and as every day you visited the park. And as every day…the man on the bench next to yours was there again, too. Sitting there like you, alone like you. How come you had never noticed him here except in the last few days? You came daily here for months now but you had never seen him here. Maybe he had just discovered this place here recently and it seemed he liked this place as much as you did.
Today you allowed yourself to look a little bit longer at him. He was well dressed, in a black suit, black leather ankle boots and a coat that seemed to be too thin for the cold weather. His raven hair was slicked back and reached far over his shoulders.
Even when he sat there with loosely crossed legs you could see how long and well-trained they were. Also otherwise he seemed to be very attractive. When he turned his head in your direction and glanced at you, you looked away quickly. You felt caught staring at him and you hoped he couldn't see your reddened cheeks.
The next day you came to the park again as he hoped you would do. Same time, same place. And you were alone again. Did you wait for someone who never comes? You sat down and watched the scenery like every day. Whenever you did not look in his direction he observed you secretly. Not in a weird way, he would never do something like that. He was just curious and you looked cute with your knitted beanie with the big bobble, cuddled up into your fluffy scarf.
Yesterday you two looked at each other for a very short moment but unfortunately, you looked away quickly. He liked your pretty face and he thought he saw your cheeks reddening when he caught you staring at him.
He would like to get you known but he would never dare to address you. He would never bother you. You seemed not to be the kind of woman he usually asked to spend the night with him. He couldn't really describe what it was but there was a special aura surrounding you. You seemed discreet…and lonely.
There was something about you that evoked his protective instinct and so he decided to return to the park and this bench daily to have a look if you might be there again, too. You radiated so much peace and kindness and it made him feel comfortable. He just wanted to see you. Nothing more.
When you arrived at the park in the early afternoon at your bench, the handsome stranger was already there again, staring at the lake. It seemed he didn't even recognize you. You had the feeling of being protected by him only through his presence. But maybe it was just your imagination or wishful thinking because he was a great, tall, noble statue of a man. You had fallen for something like this before…
Nonetheless, he has intrigued you and you were wondering why he was here every day now too, on his bench and every day at the same time…at the same time as you. This morning before you went to work you decided that today would be the day when you would address him. You had nothing to lose so you would give it a chance. Of course, he was a stranger and maybe you should not talk to him but you felt drawn to him somehow.
After half an hour of sitting on your bench, you gathered all your courage and went over to him. You felt a bit nervous because normally you would never do that. But nothing in your life was normal anymore. You knew it could be dangerous to talk to a stranger. But there were so many people here around you that you felt safe enough to talk to him. And why shouldn't two lonely people talk to each other? Could be nice, couldn't it?
"May I?" you asked the well-dressed man with the black, slicked-back long hair.
Unlike before when you just looked at him from afar, you now realized how handsome he actually was. Before today you had mostly only looked at him from the corners of your eyes because you never wanted to stare at him.
He had a sharp jawline, high cheekbones, small but seductive lips, curved into a slightly mischievous smile, a straight beautiful nose and irresistible piercing baby-blue eyes…he looked like a prince, his appearance was flawless, godly. Like every day he wore a perfectly tailored black suit, a light cashmere coat and a light-woollen scarf, just loosely wrapped around his neck.
You still wondered if the cold didn't affect him because he wore clothes like this every day.
He widened his eyes and raised his eyebrows when he looked up at you, directly into your eyes. You nearly forgot to breathe. He made you shiver with excitement.
"Of course! Please, take a seat" he answered while he rose from the bench.
His gaze softened and he made an inviting gesture with his hand. His smooth dark voice caused goosebumps on your skin under your cosy and warming clothes and you smiled at him.
"Thank you, Sir" and the both of you sat down again simultaneously, facing each other.
"You might be surprised why I'm talking to you. Normally I don't do that." You smiled at him, almost apologetically.
"Normally you don't? But now you do!" he smirked at you, seemingly amused.
"Ahhmm…I'm sorry, maybe…maybe it wasn't a good idea…ahhmm…believe me it was the last thing on my mind to inconvenience you, I'm sorry! I guess I'd better get going" and you wanted to get up and leave. How embarrassing, what had gotten into you?
"No, no young Lady, please stay!"
His deep baritone and the friendly tone in his voice stopped your want to leave. You smiled at him again but you still felt embarrassed and you felt your cheeks blushing. He was a fascinating man and his eyes seemed to stare deep into your soul. You were sure you could neither lie to a man like him nor not like him. You took a deep breath before you found your voice again.
"I recognized you being here every day like me, alone…just like me. And I thought maybe we could sit here together and talk to each other…but of course…only if you want."
"Believe me or not, I had the same thought but I would never have spoken to you. You know, I didn't mean to come at you like that."
"Oh, that's very decent, Sir. Not every man is like this" and you smiled at each other.
"I just …watched you from afar. Sounds weird, doesn't it? But I was conce–…I noticed you're coming to the park every day, too. Aren't you afraid to sit here every afternoon alone?" he asked you and his concern was genuine.
"To be honest…no! No, I'm not. There are so many people here every day in the afternoons, I feel safe so far." you explained.
"I've been visiting the park every day for months now and never something bad happened. Of course, something bad could happen every day. I also know that this city was attacked by aliens several years ago, but that's not how I want to live…every day expecting the worst, no!" and you shook your head. Bad days you've had more than enough.
"I always hope that every day will just offer the best things to me" you said thoughtfully and smiled.
"And now you are here every day…you could protect me if you want," you said to him and laughed.
"…no no, I'm just kidding, don't take me too seriously!" You smiled at him while you pulled your beanie right.
You were cute, really cute. Your smile was warming, your attitude was friendly, and you also seemed to be strong and confident…with a hint of sadness. He got to know many women and with most of them, he was intimately involved. With some of them he had also nice conversations but none of them was like you.
"I would do that immediately for you, my Lady. I would never let someone harm you."
He genuinely meant it and he gave you a friendly grin. But he was sure if you had known who he really was and what he did in the past, you would never allow him to do that.
"You're truly a gentleman…but please, I'm not a Lady…I'm y/n " and you offered him a handshake with your gloved hand, a radiant smile on your lips.
He took your hand and held your fingers with his, lifted your hand carefully upwards, bowed down his head and gave an implied kiss to the back of your gloved hand. When he lifted his head upwards again he looked into your eyes, still gently holding your hand. You swallowed thickly, nobody ever did that before. Never before had someone given you a perfect hand kiss.
"Lady y/n…I'm Loki Laufeyson. It's an honour to meet you!"
You couldn't help yourself but stare into his eyes with a slightly open mouth. You were utterly impressed by him and his manners.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Laufeyson" you answered breathlessly.
After what felt like an eternity, he softly let go of your hand. You wished he would still hold it because it felt nice.
You weren't sure but you thought you had heard his name before. You had lived and worked in Oslo for some time so it might be just a coincidence.
"Are you from Norway? Because of your name…"
"No, not really" he chuckled.
"Oh, okay, I lived and worked there for a while and that might be the reason your name sounds familiar to me" you explained and you still had the feeling you had heard his name somewhere before.
"Maybe you ought to be afraid of me!" he stated. He knew that nearly everyone still feared him.
"No, Mr. Laufeyson, I'm not afraid of you. I just dared to speak to you" and you gave him your sweet smile again.
"Should I be afraid of you?" you asked him mischievously.
"I don't know…" he answered you playfully with his deep, dark voice and it made you shiver.
His voice was like sweet honey that slowly ran down your body. Probably you would do anything he asks you for and you would just obey. You should better get rid of this weakness.
Instead of widening your eyes in fear, he seemed to seduce you. Why didn't you fear him? And he could swear you had an idea who he was.
"So we conclude that I'm not afraid of you." You smiled at him brightly again.
"If you'd have wanted to harm me you could've done it yet, you had many opportunities in the last days, didn't you?" You asked him confirming.
"Right. But what if I'm planning to do it?" He leaned his head towards you.
"What if I lied?"
His voice went more silent and deeper but his gaze remained friendly. You shivered again but not because of fear.
"Possibly you did…but if you want to harm me, even if you want to abduct me, I wouldn't mind …there won't be anyone who would actually miss me." Your gaze became more serious and sad.
"What are you saying?" He furrowed his eyebrows and gazed concernedly at you.
"No one would miss me" you murmured sadly.
"And still I'm not afraid of you…just a gut feeling, it rarely deceives me" you said, more confident again.
"There must be someone?" and he furrowed his eyebrows again.
He felt bad for you. What happened to you that you were all alone nowadays and his concern about you grew…feelings he knew but barely showed others.
"No, there's no one. It's a long story, Mr. Laufeyson" you said quietly and turned your head away from his gaze towards the lake and you changed the subject.
"It's a nice place here, isn't it? One of the best people-watching spots in the city," you said.
"Yes, it is. Indeed" he answered and looked intensely at you.
"It's kind of peaceful and it offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, doesn't it?" he asked you and couldn't take his eyes off you. Somehow he felt drawn to you.
"Yes, it does...and it also offers a distraction from life…" you said, sighing.
"It's beginning to dusk…I should go home now" you said and looked at him again.
"Will you be coming back tomorrow? And I can assure you, I definitely won't harm you, I didn't lie to you."
He would never do that to you and he just wanted to see you again. And the confirmation that you were alone fueled the desire to protect you.
You looked and smiled at him again before you answered.
"I knew I could trust you. Of course, Mr. Laufeyson, like every day I'll be here again tomorrow. Same time, same place!"
"Same time, same place, my Lady."
He almost looked lovingly into your eyes, took your hand carefully and gave you an implied kiss to the back of your hand again. When he released your hand, you both stood up from the bench.
"See you tomorrow, Mr. Laufeyson."
"See you tomorrow, Lady y/n."
On your way back home you couldn't stop thinking about him. Had you really had the courage to talk to a stranger? You laughed at yourself and your exuberance. You were about to make the same mistake as then…but Loki Laufeyson seemed to be different. Extremely handsome but different and with perfect manners. But no, you would never fall for someone again, it would just come to an unfortunate end again.
Loki couldn't believe what just had happened. You, one of the most beautiful women he had seen in a long time, so beautiful both externally and inwardly too so it seemed, dared to talk to him.
Did you actually say you trust him? Him? Without knowing him? You were adorable, indeed…and you were different. You were not like all the women who stood literally in a line in front of his bedroom door, you weren't nearly like them.
Of course, it confirmed his ego, that many women wanted him but it wasn't something that made him happy in life. If he was honest with himself he always searched for someone like you.
But he wasn't made for a serious relationship and to handle it this way, to only look for sexual affairs, was the best solution for him and it satisfied his carnal needs. And by the way, he knew there would never be a woman for him.
He knew there would never be someone who wanted to satisfy the undisclosed desires of his heart and his desire for genuine love. And so he went to the bar, like almost every day, where he would definitely find a willing companion for a lustful night of sex.
To be continued ...
Coffee (Part 1)
Fandom: Vikings
Paring: Ivar x Reader
Type: Modern AU, Office AU
Wordcount: 2517
Warnings: reader drinks wine casually
[Coffee - All Parts Here]
A/N: Hello my lovely readers! Some of you might start this story and find it oddly familiar. This is because this thing is basically a kind of re-write of my story City Lights.
I reread it recently and found that even though I kind of liked the story, I hated most of it because it is not well written and too fast paced, because I didn’t plan it out at all and also did not really proofread it. So, now a new version, though I will keep the old one up. This one will be longer, more detailed, and also will be different in a lot of places, as I want to take a few things in a different direction. The main story should be almost the same, though. I also changed the location of the story from Copenhagen to Oslo, because I live here and know the city a lot better!
Summary: You are a graduate student at the University of Oslo, and have applied for a job as a personal assistant at the Lothbrok Corporation, without really knowing much of the position advertised. When it turns out you are going to work for the (in)famous Ivar Lothbrok, your whole life is turned up-side-down.
Tumblr media
—–
“I really don’t need a personal assistant, mother!” Ivar groaned, rolling his eyes at his mother, who pursed her lips. Aslaug was more than used to this gesture by her son and had not really expected any other reaction from him.
Aslaug was standing in the doorway to Ivar’s office, dressed in a smart and elegant blouse and pencil skirt combination, her long hair flowing down her shoulders, as always perfectly styled, and making her look as if she had just stepped out of a shampoo advertisement.
That was really great !!
Holding Back [Loki Laufeyson x Female Reader] 18+
Relationship: Loki x female reader
Summary: You are a new mutant recruit in training with the Avengers, and Loki is brought in to teach you how to use your powers.
Note: Reader is horny and has no problems entertaining the idea of sleeping with multiple Avengers (haven't we all?).
Warnings: 18+ minors DNI! Eventual smut, starting in chapter 3.
~~~~~~
Chapter 1 - The Dilemma
Word count: 1,729
Summary: You've been living at Avengers tower for a few months. Your training is going well except for one part- learning to use your mutant powers.
Warnings: No warnings for this chapter.
Tumblr media
"I'm not a damn warrior!!", you yelled at Natasha after a particularly bad blow. You laid on the ground of the training room, shielding your stomach, where she had struck you.
"Well you signed up for this hero stuff, so you better start trying harder" she said dryly, reaching out a hand to pull you up.
Training was going poorly. You knew it and the team knew it, though they (mostly) continued to be polite.
It had been grueling and exhausting as a superhero in training. Not only did you need to learn basic hand to hand combat and fighting a combatant with various weapons, you also had to work on controlling and building your powers.
Before you came to the Avengers tower, you had been "yoga a few days a week in shape", not "battle aliens and bad guys in shape”. And the most frustrating part was using your powers. You had the ability to create force fields around yourself and sometimes others, but no one here seemed to understand them, and had less insight than you did into using them. Natasha had kept asking you to push and push, but it clearly wasn't working.
It had been a particularly hard session today. You couldn't manage to make a force field around yourself, and she was then able to subdue you with just a few well placed kicks and a punch to the stomach, sending you to the floor.
After helping you up, she gave you a serious look, while you tried to avoid eye contact, brushing yourself off.
"Look, if you don't think you're up to this, you need to let us know now. I know this life isn't for everyone, and I can tell you're frustrated. But now's the time to leave if you want."
All you could say was, "Okay I'll think about it," as you continued to not look at her, and turned to leave towards the showers. You felt like such a failure, like you let everyone down. You could let yourself down, and that would be fine. But the Avengers? The guilt crept into your chest as you thought about letting Steve down.
Anger at them also seeped into the back of your mind. Steve had been incredibly patient with your slowness to progress. But it was hard having teachers who didn't understand what they were working with. It was like they were setting you up for failure. You groaned as you stepped into the hot water in your shower stall. Were you mad at them or yourself?
------
During your shower, your stomach reminded you it was lunch time. You decided the best way to distract yourself from this upsetting situation was to eat something delicious for dinner and have a strong drink.
Your days had become routine in the last few months at the tower. When you were done training in the mornings, you studied as much as you could- Tony had portfolios on alien races, planets, and heroes and villains for you to read.
As you dried yourself off and changed, you thought about what you wanted to eat. You didn't want to order in, you wanted to cook something comforting.
Baked mac and cheese? Oh, and a big glass of red wine to go with it, that sounds amazing.
You decided you were going to go to the store for ingredients, sick of feeling a bit trapped in the tower. It was the end of summer, and for once you would enjoy the heavy New York City heat. It was a break from the cold, sometimes sterile feeling of the inside of the tower.
You threw on a t-shirt and jeans and headed out of the locker room towards the shared space on the tenth floor.
You walked towards the kitchen in hopes of taking inventory before you went out shopping, but were surprised and disappointed to see most of the Avengers gathered in the dining area.
They all looked up from their conversation when you entered, and Steve smiled and said your name, motioning for you to join them. You're sure they saw the look of disappointment and shame across your face.
Guess dinner will have to wait a minute, looks like I'm about to get fired.
You sighed and grabbed a protein bar from the kitchen and headed over to them silently, plopping on the couch with annoyance, surrounded Thor, Tony, and Steve in chairs on all sides of you.
Steve and Tony both had a serious look on their face, while Thor smiled and took a bite out of an apple. Had they talked to Nat? Were they talking about you?
You then focused on Steve, but were momentarily distracted.
Why is Steve looking so good today? He was just poured into that flannel shirt …focus, Y/N. They're here to talk about your career, not for you to ogle Captain America.
"So, Y/N, we've been talking, and we're discussing maybe getting you some more help-" Tony said.
You felt your face contort into worry, and Steve noticed and cut him off.
"Not that your training isn't going great-"
Nice save, Steve.
"- but that maybe we're not the best people to help you with your powers. None of us has any powers like you, and we don't really know how it all works," Steve remarked genuinely.
Tony huffed, and you could tell it pained him to admit he didn't know about something.
Thor sat across from you in a large chair, enjoying his snack. He always had a warm, grounded presence when he wasn't in battle mode.
Thor spoke up, looking at Tony and Steve.
"You should call Loki", Thor recommended with a grin, crunching his apple happily.
Confused, you immediately blurted out, "Your brother? The guy who attacked New York? Why would I ask for his help?". You couldn't believe what Thor was suggesting.
"No, he's reformed!", Thor exclaimed happily with a grin on his face. "After he helped with the convergence, he came to live here in New York, helping to fix things on Midga- well, Earth. Technically he's been banished here, and he's not too thrilled with that. But part of the rules of his banishment are that he is to assist the Avengers, and any other tasks the Allfather or Allmother needs help with in all the realms. He's quite lucky that was his only punishment," Thor trailed off, looking contemplative.
You were in shock and looked at Steve, who nodded. Loki was a sort of good guy now?
Tony looked uncomfortable at the recommendation. "I don't know if we need to go that far. Besides, do we really want to risk bringing him in here?"
"He's visited here before and we haven't had any issues, Tony," Steve responded honestly.
Tony looked at Steve and a silence settled on the room for a moment while he thought.
After weighing his options in his head, Tony finally spoke, "Yea well, maybe you're right, Steve. And I don't want to wait. I already tried Dr. Strange, but he's off-world or off universe or whatever. No offense kid, but you need a tutor. I guess this is our best shot," Tony said, looking at you with a slight look of uncertainty on his face.
"Ha! Then it is agreed, my brother shall teach you how to use your magic, Y/N," Thor smiled. "Tony, ring him on your cellular device".
"Wait, don't I get a say in this?", you asked, concerned. "You guys really think Loki knows anything about mutants or their powers? And you're going to leave me alone with him in a training room? What if he hurts me?".
"Loki has no ill intent- he is trying to become an asset for your planet, and we can trust him. He will not harm you," Thor reassured you.
Steve reached out and put his hand on your knee to comfort you.
"Y/N, I agree with Thor. It's time we all put the past behind us and give him his second chance, like we did with Bucky," Steve pointedly looked at Tony, who rolled his eyes.
Steve continued, "He helped us with another assignment and everything went fine. And even if your powers aren't the same, he's the only person other than Thor who can understand more about what you're going through."
Tony pulled out his phone, and looked at you.
You knew it would be uncomfortable, but you had to trust Steve. He would always look out for you, and you reminded yourself to have faith in him.
"Okay. Let's do it," you nodded to Steve.
Tony dialed up Loki. "Yea, hey Loki, Tony Stark here. We have someone here that needs assistance, we're thinking you could be helpful….uh huh. She needs some help training with her powers, and we thought you could give us some insight…. alright, yup", Tony looked at you and hung up the phone.
"Okay. He'll be here in the morning, 7 am sharp. I don't like inviting the God of Mischief and Chaos over, so hopefully this will work. Otherwise, we'll have to rethink your place on the team. Sorry Y/N, you're good at what you do, but I don't know if it's enough for the big leagues," Tony quipped, patting you on the shoulder as he stood up and walked out of the room.
You pulled your knees up to your chest, feeling like you just failed a test. Thor got up and came to sit next to you on the couch.
"I thought this is where I belonged. I don't really fit in at home. And now I feel like I'm not good enough to be here. This sucks," you thought out loud.
"Do not fret, you will discover your purpose here. It just may not be as you imagined", Thor wrapped his large arm around your small shoulders in comfort. His warmth enveloped you, and you felt a little better.
You looked at Steve, concern painted on his face. When he saw you looking at him, he smiled reassuringly. "How about we go to a movie?", he suggested. This was why he was such a great leader- empathetic, and knew the right strategy for every pitfall.
"Yea, that sounds great, Cap," you faintly smiled back at him. You felt a little warm in your chest. His kindness was almost too much sometimes.

Virtual Strangers {Part 1}
Tumblr media
*Tom Hiddleston x reader*
Parts: 1/10
Words: 5.5k
Summary: When you first replied to a stray text message that was accidentally sent to you from an unknown number, you couldn’t have known who the virtual stanger on the other end was, or would be. You couldn’t have known that he was soon to become your very best friend and steady companion. You couldn’t have known that you would fall for him quite as deeply as you did. You couldn’t have known. After all, you had never even seen a glimpse of each other, nor heard the other’s voice. You only ever conversed through text messages, even if you did so every day and every night. You couldn’t have known that you would fall for a stranger, who you knew even better than yourself. Even if you did not know his name. Yet there is another question that remains unspoken: If you really are best friends and even live in the same city, why does he not want to meet you in person?
~virtual strangers to friends to lovers~
A.N.: What exactly are you getting from this story, you ask? An online friendship-turned-romance? Check. Flirting via texts? Check. Annoyed yet overly supportive publicist and friend Luke? Check. Literary references to classical literature and plays? Check. Bobby being adorable and a valid character in the story? Check. Just the right twinge of angst? Check. Humour? Check. Fluff? Check. Super long chapters because I just can’t be bothered to keep it short? Hell yeah.
Find all parts on my Masterlist!
______________________________
It was shortly after ten at night when you unlocked the front door to your tiny flat on the fifth floor, kicking it open with one foot just a little too strongly for your taste. It ended up slamming into the nearest wall behind it, causing a rattling orchestration of crude noises that surely would be heard by all of your neighbours, but quite honestly, you currently couldn’t care less. It had been a clusterfuck of a day, stressful and annoying and way too long for anyone’s good. All you wanted when you kicked the bloody door shut again and dropped your coat and leather satchel in your joke of a hallway was to get out of your fancy clothes and fall into bed with a good movie to soothe you into sleep. This day just had to be over soon… you were absolutely done with it and the world in general. Groaning to yourself quietly, you unceremoniously kicked your shoes off and finally made your way through the darkness of the flat towards your bed. You didn’t have a sofa, didn’t even have the space for one, so it was either the bed or the desk to reside at, and there was no way in heaven or hell you would spend another minute at the latter today. Not when you’d already sat at the one in your office at university for over twelve bloody hours.

Tumblr media
It was day three of your stake out with Steve and Wanda and it wasn’t a surprise that you were all bored out of your mind.
The three of you were holed up in a cabin in the woods, miles away from an alleged Hydra base, you three were doing recon, and if your sources were right, then the three of you would go to the base and dismantle their operation.
So far, it was radio silence meaning you became best friends with the ugly lamp in the living room.
“Can we go home yet?” You whined, Wanda was sitting next to you on the couch while Steve was preparing dinner, it was his turn to cook for all three of you.
“(Y/N) you know we can’t yet,” Steve’s sighs for the third time in an hour, he was getting tired of your whining, and the fact that he accidentally burned your dinner didn’t help his frustrations.
“Can’t go to the village, can’t even hike, the tv is broken, I’m getting cabin fever Rogers! The longer I stay in this state, the more annoying I’ll get.”
“So you’re tellin’ me this isn’t the worst of it?” Steve sasses back, earning a glare from you.
Wanda places down her sketchbook and nudges your shoulder.
“The two of you are worse than Sam and Bucky! Luckily Clint gave me something that will shut up the two of you. If you two promise to stop bickering up til after dinner, I’ll share.”

Hi everyone ! Does anyone have some steve rogers x reader // loki x reader // thor x reader // bucky x reader fics with one of this trope : (best)friends to lovers, neighbors reader, roommate reader, civilian reader ?
I can read them on Tumblr, AO3 and Wattpad.
If you also know some with crossover (avengers x game of thrones, avengers x house of the dragons, avengers x the walking dead for instance, with reader as someone not from the avengers) i would'nt be opposed to it😁😄
Thanks a lot !!

Just a Midgardian ( Loki x reader)
Tumblr media
Chapter 1: Mortal
Summary: You go to Asgard with Loki and Thor. You think it’s a dream coming true, but Odin is willing to make your life a living hell. Fortunately, Loki is here for you.
Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
***
Thor and Loki insisted that you accompanied them in Asgard. Tony was upset you were leaving so soon, but how could you say no to going to Asgard? When Thor and Loki first brought it up, you thought it was a joke. And yet, here you were, walking on the Bifrost with Thor and Loki at your sides. Walking wasn’t an easy task when a city as marvelous and unbelievable as Asgard was right in front of you.
When you arrived in front of the huge doors of the palace, you began to notice hundreds of Asgardians staring wildly at you and the princes. You forced a smile, though, you knew, they were staring at you. You were a Midgardian, and they were Asgardians among gods themselves. You could live at least ninety years old whereas they would live for thousands of years. A shill run through your body at the only thought your life was probably worth ten minutes for these gods.
Already feeling self-conscious, you saw the Asgardian women all glaring at you with jealousy, envy and anger. You were a mere mortal, and yet you were with the princes of Asgard. You shivered and watched a woman ran to Loki, and hugged him tenderly. It was Frigga, Loki and Thor’s mother. You smiled. Frigga loved Loki deeply, even knowing what he had done in New York. She loved him, nonetheless.
Thor greeted his father, and Odin wrapped his arms around his son with affection.
Loki tensed, observing Thor and Odin. The God of Mischief waited for their embrace to end, and then he headed towards the Allfather. You thought maybe Odin would have hugged him like he had done with Thor, though, he only stood still like a marble statue.
“Odin.”Loki declared with a nod.
“Loki.”
It was awkward. So awkward you walked up to Loki quickly to help him. You knew it was going to make things worse, but you cared too much about Loki not to intervene.
You cleared your throat to distract Odin from him, and fortunately it worked.
It worked too well...
Odin took several steps towards you with a threatening look.
“Who are you?”He questioned, pure astonishment written all over his face.
“My name’s Y/N. It’s an honor to meet you.”You declared, trying to bow properly.
Though, it must have looked as your back was broken.
“Who brought a mortal to Asgard?”Odin shouted, frowning and clenching his fists tightly.
Odin advanced again, and you began to back off. He was still a god, and he was walking dangerously towards you, eyes red with hatred.
“Father, stop!”Thor screamed, preventing his father from advancing further.
“Why is she here, Thor?”
The God of Thunder looked at the ground, avoiding purposely the gaze of his father.
“Loki. Would you tell me why a mortal is in Asgard?”
The God of Mischief searched your eyes, and when he finally crossed your gaze, you found regret, and fear. He didn’t say a word. Were they ashamed of you?
“Someone needs to tell me how a pathetic Midgardian got there?”Odin cried, eyeing you suspiciously.
“My dear.”Said Frigga with a soothing voice.”Let them rest a bit. We’ll discuss this at dinner.”
Frigga put her hand on her husband’s shoulder, and he immediately relax under her touch.
He nodded and entered in the palace, without caring about his sons. Frigga glanced at you, smiled warmly and followed Odin.
What had just happened?
Sadness filled in your eyes, you headed towards the two brothers.
“I shouldn’t be here. Odin was right.”You said, trying not to burst into tears.
The princes gazed at you, still not saying a single word. It was answer enough for you, you began to walk towards the Bifrost again. At least, Tony and Natasha would be happy to see you return.
“Y/N!”You heard Loki shout.
You accelerated the pace and stopped when you felt a hand grab your shoulder.
“Stay. Please.”Loki pleaded, his hands on your shoulders, forcing you to look straight in his eyes.
Amazed, Thor was watching you argue with Loki. He knew his brother, and if he really didn’t care about you, as he always told Thor, he wouldn’t try to make you stay.
“Why should I stay?”You cried, tears burning your eyes.”People aren’t exactly happy to see me, Asgardian women already despise me, and Odin can’t bear to stare at me for more than one minute! Give me one damn reason to stay in this nightmarish place!”
“Stay... for me.”He muttered, feeling exposed and vulnerable.
With wide eyed, you tried to open your mouth, but Loki put a finger in front of your lips to prevent you from talking.
“Forget them. They’re always like that. Beautiful place. Awful people.”
You nodded, and let the tears fall on your cheeks, not caring if Loki sees you so weak. So fragile. So human.
“How? How can I stay?”You questioned, weeping your tears with the sleeve of your shirt.
“At first, it’ll be hard, but I’ll be here, Y/N. Don’t let me alone with them. Please.”
Staring at the ground, you sighed.
“I won’t.”You replied, eyes red.
He smiled and traced your cheek with his hand slowly. You closed your eyes, leaning under his touch.
You would survive. Eventually. For Loki.
Loki headed towards the entrance of the palace, and you followed him.
It would be hard to be only a Midgardian among all these perfect people. Although you may not have been a god, you had the power to fix the most broken person on Asgard.

warning: mentions of rape
Tumblr media
The lift doors opened and you looked out in amazement. “Was this real? Am i really here” you said to yourself and you walked out,  down the corridor, walking through the two glass doors into the bullpen, your new work place.
As you walked in a blonde female detective walked straight over to you, placing a hand on your shoulder.
“Hey sweetie, can i help you with anything?”
“Hey, I’m y/n  y/n, I’m the new detective starting today”
“Oh hey Y/N, I’m Amanda, welcome to SVU, we are glad to have you here.”
“Thanks, I’m glad to be here.”
Next minute you heard a male voice coming from your right hand side, a tall dark hared man with tanned skin, an other dark older man and a women with short brown hair walked out of the office.
“ Who’s your friend Rollins?” said the first man that walked out of the office.
“This is Y/N, our new squad member.” She said
He held out his hand to yours, “I’m Nick, this is Fin and this is our lieutenant, Olivia”
You shook all their hands one after the other.
“So nice to meet you all, I’m glad to be here.”
Olivia gave you a smile, “We are glad to have you. You will be partnered with Nick, make yourself at home Y/N” she gave you a small smile and walked away.

It wasn’t an easy road getting to this point, the academy, general duties for what felt like forever, more studying just to get to this point. As soon as you heard a position was opening at SVU, you just knew that was the move you wanted to take. Coming from a small town just outside Ohio, your mother had kittens when you told her your were moving to New York, but she knew this was a path you had always wanted to follow, so she supported you. You had always lived at home, expect your short stay at the accdamey, so packing up your child hood room was sad, but exciting all at once.
You had only been in New York for a week before you started your new job. Your apartment was a small 1 bedder, just enough for you. It had exposed brick work, widows everywhere, open plan kitchen, dining and living. Your bed room was pretty big, had a walk in and your bathroom was old school, but charming non the less.
The first day went by fast, the team had seemed to have welcomed you with open arms. After work, welcome drinks were had that night before you going home to sleep before the next day.
____
As soon as you walked through the door, Liv walked out of her office, “Y/N, in here”.
You walked into her office, with Fin standing looking through the glass two way in Liv’s office. There was a young girl crying with her mum’s arm around her shoulders while Amanda and Nick where questioning her.
“What’s happened?” you asked. Liv started filling you in on how the girl had left her brothers work party late, she was walking through the park and two perps came up behind her and both raped her.
You stood there listening to Amanda and Nick both questioning the young girl and her telling them everything. You didn’t even sense a forth person entering the office.
You jumped from fright when you heard a very charming cocky voice boom and you turned to face the voice, “What do we have Liv?”, and looked at you with a nod, “And, who are you?”
You frowned, walked towards this cocky human with beautiful green eyes and looking very handsome in a grey 3 piece suit, light blue shirt and red tie. Wondering why he was dressed like your Pop used to.
Before you could talk, Liv answered him, “This is our New Detective and Nicks partner, y/n y/n.” She then turned to you, “ And this y/n, is SVU’s ADA Rafael Barba.”
You held out you hand, and placed his hand around yours. His hand was huge, soft and warm. His fingers wrapped round your hand and he shook it firmly. You let go quick, as the butterflies in your stomach rouse quickly and violently, also threatening to make you throw up, they were that intense. What the hell was that feeling, you had never felt that before. Although you could count on your hands the number of boyfriends and hook up’s you had growing up. No one had ever given you feelings like this. You pushed the feelings aside, come on now, it was only your second day.
“Nice to meet you Mr Barba.”
“Like wise, Welcome to the team.” He said looking straight into your eyes with a big smirk on his face.
Liv started to fill him in on what had happened, but all Rafael could think about was the feeling he got in this stomach when he shook your hand, did you feel it too? But he knew all to well, you where young and new, what good could come of him feeling like this. You were amazingly beautiful, too good to be true if he was honest. As soon as he walked into the office and seen you standing, looking through the two way, in your dress pants that where just tight enough around your backside and your white button down tucked in, showing off your figure in all the right places. Your hair was in a low messy bun, showing off your neck. How he wondered. He pushed through the thoughts,  and tried to concentrate on the interview, but the smell of your sweet perfume, pulled him to look at you, you were frowning while you listened, taking in everything that was being said, you were sucking on you top lip. He wondered what it would be like to kiss those beautiful lips, just then Nick and Amanda walked out of the interview room, so you could all talk about what had just happened, pulling his attention back to why he was really there.
“Do you believe what she says?” Barba said
“She didn’t seem like she was lying about what happened to her, she looked to raw.” You said
“She isn’t. Something happened, but there are some things that are off.” Amanda said, “ Fin and I will take her and her Mum to the hospital now for a rape kit. She said she hasn’t showered, and when we drop her home I’ll get her clothes she had on last night for testing.”
“Y/N, I want you and Nick to canvas the area for all camera footage, we need to get to the bottom of this.” Liv ordered
You and Nick both walked out of the office and picked up your coats and started to put them on. As you walked past Liv’s office on your way out, you could feel eyes on you, you looked over and there was Barba looking at you, you gave a small warm smile, he’s cheeks slightly redden, he turned back to Liv,
“Let me know when you find more.”
