* headcanon › regarding relationships
platonic. travis is someone who holds his platonic relationships in high regard. while he doesn’t have much in terms of family to speak of, his friends are his family and he takes his responsibility and loyalty to his found family seriously. he’s outgoing and makes friends easily, if only they can stand to put up with his loud mouth, often stupid remarks and his goofy personality. if you get past that rough exterior, travis is sweet, kind and compassionate and will go through hell and high water to protect the people he loves - his platonic friends, his ‘family’, even his co-workers and neighbors.
antagonistic. while travis is not the type to have very many antagonistic relationships, because he has a strong personality he’s definitely had some run-ins and altercations before. he’s loud, abrasive, and doesn’t think before he speaks and that’s a problem for a lot of people. he wouldn’t actively say there’s anyone he dislikes, but he knows there are people he’s run across in his past that don’t like him.
romantic. ravis has never really had much luck in relationships, he’s dated a lot, women and men, but nothing that’s ever really lasted or been entirely meaningful since breaking up with his high school girlfriend. he’s really open to new experiences, and very open about his bisexuality and has a number of friends with benefits, cuddle buddies and other various hook ups with no strings attached. he is also prone to crushing on people entirely out of his league and he knows it, but that won’t stop him from continuing to chase after the wrong person all the time.

* headcanon › miscellaneous : part i
travis has a major habit of oversleeping and being late for school/work. it’s not that he doesn’t care, but he’s a night owl that often has trouble falling asleep, and even when he hasn’t misplaced his phone - which is his alarm clock of course - he either forgets to set it or he presses snooze until he’s realized he’s late.
travis has always been extremely forgetful. from his keys, to his phone, to his wallet and everything else in between, he can be rather absentminded and forgetful, often misplacing or losing items - even items of importance. with his friends it’s mostly a running joke, that he’d lose his head if it wasn��t attached to his neck, his aunt even made him wear his house key on a chain around his neck, so he would stop locking himself out of the house.
travis has always struggled with electronic technology and doesn’t fully understand why social media exists and the purpose behind it. he has a twitter and an instagram, but both rarely get any use, likely because he’s lost his device or because he can’t remember the password. he’s also had the same email address since he was in middle school and it’s inbox is filled with years of spam that travis is unmotivated to clear out.
travis has been smoking since he was in middle school - his dad was the person who got him into it and he’s been hooked ever since. while he’s tried to quite it multiple times it’s never stuck and even still he smokes about a pack every two days - more if he’s been stressed out. another distinctive note is that travis almost always has an unsmoked cigarette tuck behind his left ear, and replaces it everytime he starts a new one.

* stranger things › last night in hawkins
in this universe travis is living at home with his mother in the trailer park where he moved into during his junior year ( pre season three of stranger things ). he is an average student, though his friend group is best categorized as burnouts. travis is usually found at the scrapyard salvaging parts for a custom motorcycle he’s been building, riding his bicycle around town with his friends, or hanging out around the trailer park. he may also have a part-time job as a pizza delivery boy or a line cook at the local diner.
travis’ arch in hawkins follows season three & four - and while he is not fully aware of what’s happening in hawkins, he’s always been interested in supernatural phenomena because of this he’s slightly more tuned in to the going’s on than most residents, though still not fully clued in ( except in cases where he’s friends with canon characters who have specifically clued him in ).
