Been thinking about the headcanon that Susie actually loved Star Dream as a little kid. She was soooooo proud of her and her dad’s project and wanted to make sure that the ‘coolest robot ever!’ always had company.

She’d read it dubiously violent children’s books and it would boot up Spy Fox for her. She was an iPad kid and they they were BESTIES. 

It’s like when a little kid decides a big family dog is their soulmate and that they’re its moooost important caretaker despite not actually handling that much of the responsibility. 

Except, you know, if the dog got sick of it eventually and ate the toddler. Important aspect to this metaphor is that it ends gruesomely

Gravity Falls headcanon that after weirdmageddon, Stan becomes way more protective of the kids.

Yes, obviously he was protective of them before that, but from that point on, he’s just in constant over protective uncle mode. He spent several days in the shack, gathering citizen after citizen, creature after creature, all seeking shelter, but could not for the life of him find the kids to get them into the safety of the shack. He spent days probably thinking they were dead. He probably spends the entire sailing trip with Ford reliving how his entire family could have all died. He’s not risking it happening again, no matter the cause.

Maybe that first summer he would have just shrugged off the kids getting home after dark, but the next summer if they do that they get yelled at and grounded.

The first summer if the kids came home all scratched up, yeah he’d be freaking out inside, but he’d simply toss them a first aid kit. But the next summer if they come home scratched up, it’s met with a thousand questions “what happened? Where were you? Who were you with? Do you feel sick? Did you get hit in the head? How many fingers am I holding up?”

While the first summer Stan, upon seeing his niblings are going into town with an ax, says “hmm, seems like the kind of thing a responsible parent wouldn’t want you doing—good thing I’m an uncle!” The next summer he says “Mabel be careful with those safety scissors! It’s Gravity Falls, you never know what’ll come to life!”

Everyone who went through weirdmageddon has a lovely new trauma they have to deal with. Everyone gets panic attacks that are triggered by something they went through during the odd-pocalypse. For Stan it’s Dipper and Mabel’s safety.

A teaser for a story I have in the works (for the first time in over a year, I know). Soos bestowing his old one-size-fits-all shirt - the same one Stan gave him all those years ago - upon his new 'apprentice', 12-year-old Boyd Gunnarsson.

He'd already been helping out at the Shack for a couple weeks to pick up the slack after both sets of Pines twins left town and Wendy started her Sophomore year, but it's only after getting mixed up in a supernatural adventure - and proposing a 'killer Halloween special' based on it - that Boyd's apprenticeship is made official. Look at him, he can barely restrain his joy. :V

Part of a wider 'Shack Family' concept I have, featuring Soos, Melody, Wendy and Boyd getting into their own shenanigans while the Pines family is away. Many assume that Boyd is Soos' son, but really he's more of an adopted kid brother.
