sorry to ppl who are normal about their ships but if I'm not tearing my skin off, literally about to bounce off my walls, eating something inedible and getting close to having an aneurysm cause of them i do not care that much. i need dialogue that sends me into oblivion just seeing it typed out lmao. i need to be insane about them sorry
@vmae I guess I need to do a post describing who's who in the Manics for you
From left to right: James Dean Bradfield, Sean Moore, Richey Edwards, Nicky Wire
James
Lead guitar and vocals.
You know those teen makeover movies that used to be really popular? Like, they take a girl that's kinda nerdy and glam her up? That's James.
Clearly studied the rockstars of old and took up their tight pants
Looks like someone's granddad now. Adorable.
Certified Short King (tm)
Bicon? Maybe? He's said some things to indicate he's bi-curious at least.
Couldn't pull off a sailor suit like Richey.
Hates doing interviews but once you get him talking he won't shut up
Sean
Drummer
Grump
Hates everything except making music
James' cousin. His relationship with James is more like that of brothers. Sean thinks the band brought him in on purpose. The others have described him as "barging in". He's still with them 30 some years later.
A prolific instrumentalist and with James he forms the musical composition part of the band
Dry wit that will knife you in a dark alley
Looked about 12 til he was 40 something
Richey
Rhythm guitar and lyrics
Disappeared in 1995. Richey is something of a tragic figure, and most things things you read about him will focus on his struggles with self harm, alcoholism, depression and eating disorders but to the guys in the band he was just their friend and they cared about him. There's a human behind the myth and Richey is often overshadowed by his own legend.
Bambi eyed edgelord
Undeniably intelligent and well read
Could pull off a n y t h i n g fashion-wise and continues to influence fans to this day
Behind most of the lyrics for their first 3 albums and many for their 4th. Gave the others a notebook full of lyrics before he vanished which became the album Journal for Plague Lovers.
Was very close with Nicky
Despite many media portrayals showing him as a tortured genius he actually had a very dry sense of humor and was very open about his inadequacy with the guitar
Despite being notoriously bad at guitar and rumors circulating that he didn't actually play at all, live videos can be found that prove this wrong. He may not have been the most amazing guitar player ever, but he could play.
Nicky
Bass and lyrics (primary lyricist since Richey disappeared)
Eccentric should be his middle name
Loves vacuum cleaners
Enjoys wearing dresses on stage - this is not a "oh haha man wearing a dress, CROSSDRESSING FUNNY" thing he just genuinely enjoys wearing dresses.
Has a politics degree
Had a very genuine affection with Richey that ran especially deep
Often takes up the role of spokesman in interviews etc
Runs their Instagram
Has a politics degree
Loves taking polaroids (after my own heart here, Nicky)
