(Reblogging to add something I initially just had in the tags—
To be clear: It's not worth being worried about yet. We have no details. But this does look like something Aunt Triple P would've kept an eye on, so that's what I'll do. The askbox is open if you guys hear more in the meantime.)

It's heartening to know that there are folk like you and Aunt Triple P willing to take a stand. Gonna miss Aunt TP. This site is barely holding together as it is. Thank you for caring and doing what you do.
Thanks for taking over, Doc.
Thank you for being so kind! I promise I'll try my best for all of you.

Asks are open!
In the interest of staying informed and keeping you guys up to date on any helpful workarounds or settings you might need to switch off, I’m reopening the askbox! Feel free to point me toward anything you think might be helpful there or through mentions.

An (hopefully not too awkward) introduction
Hey there everyone! I’m the person our dear Aunt Triple P left the keys with. In keeping with the regeneration theme, you might as well call me Doc. (She/her)
I have no intention of replacing her, (Steph did so much for us, I don’t think I could ever completely fill her shoes) but I do think this blog is both an important piece of tumblr history and a very useful reference point for a lot of things. I’ve taken over management because I think it’s worth preserving—this way, no links to this blog or its posts will break.
I can’t promise more protests, but I promise I’ll maintain this place as best I can—and I’ll keep an eye on things from my main account, but please do feel free to @ this one if any new “Staff implemented a new thing, here’s the lowdown” stuff comes up. I’ll check in periodically.
Happy to keep this place going,
—Doc

Good News Everyone!
So, slight change in plan. I, Aunt Triple P, will be leaving this venture behind as planned. However, instead of outright deleting, an awesome person volunteered to continue this work as an archive. I'm not sure what pseudonym they'll use but I hope you give them a very warm welcome. You'll be hearing from them soon. Think of it being like the Doctor regenerating! Old but new, different but still the same.
This is my last post here. I had fun, I got into trouble, I fought back against the impossible, and I think I sowed some seeds of hope. Thanks for hanging out with me, it meant everything. I love you all!
MAKE ART!!!

We can opt out all we want but the cat is out of the bag. Ten years of data had already been scraped in some form and possibly sold but definitely on the market.
To quote John Lydon/Johnny Rotten, "Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?"
We can't change what has already happened but you can help change the future. Opt out, use Nightshade and Glaze on your photos. Poison the well, poison the datasets.
Now if anyone wants to make thing interesting? Opt in on alt accounts and really salt the fucking earth. May I recommend theme days? Werewolf porn Wednesdays? Terribly incorrect facts Thursdays? Fuck you matt Fridays?
The possibilities? Endless.
Hi, Tumblr. It’s Tumblr. We’re working on some things that we want to share with you.
AI companies are acquiring content across the internet for a variety of purposes in all sorts of ways. There are currently very few regulations giving individuals control over how their content is used by AI platforms. Proposed regulations around the world, like the European Union’s AI Act, would give individuals more control over whether and how their content is utilized by this emerging technology. We support this right regardless of geographic location, so we’re releasing a toggle to opt out of sharing content from your public blogs with third parties, including AI platforms that use this content for model training. We’re also working with partners to ensure you have as much control as possible regarding what content is used.
Here are the important details:
We already discourage AI crawlers from gathering content from Tumblr and will continue to do so, save for those with which we partner.
We want to represent all of you on Tumblr and ensure that protections are in place for how your content is used. We are committed to making sure our partners respect those decisions.
To opt out of sharing your public blogs’ content with third parties, visit each of your public blogs’ blog settings via the web interface and toggle on the “Prevent third-party sharing” option.
For instructions on how to opt out using the latest version of the app, please visit this Help Center doc.
Please note: If you’ve already chosen to discourage search crawling of your blog in your settings, we’ve automatically enabled the “Prevent third-party sharing” option.
If you have concerns, please read through the Help Center doc linked above and contact us via Support if you still have questions.

Fearless Leader has now taken to Twitter to further harass the original permabanned poster. Also, there's a very good chance tumblr is making a deal with a data scrapping/AI company.
Matt, buddy, put the phone down. You're making it worse and it's getting real fucking ugly. Or, continue to post and threaten to stop funding tumblr again. Whatever makes you feel like the bigger man.
Happy Out of Touch Thursday everybody!
A Petite Reprise -
It can't really be left to a simple shitpost. That would be too easy. The subject demands a better explanation. Now others have explained, pontificated, and discoursed the subject much better than I ever will but I still feel the need to add to the chorus. There's been a deep slow rot set up in tumblr and the past couple of days proved it.
Dear Fearless Leader decided the best course of action in dealing with a trans user's concerns and frustrations with her SFW selfies being arbitrarily content labeled was to completely nuke her account and permaban said user. To add fuel to the fire, there was a few other users nuked in the crossfire. Also trans for the record.
Which is odd considering the fact that loads of death threats, neonazi propaganda, and so on was reported then ignored but a cartoonish threat directed at no one but the powers that be requires immediate action.
Damning still is deleting evidence of his actions.
At this point I'm not surprised. Us trans folk have been saying there's something definitely wrong behind the scenes for a while and poc users have been saying it even longer than that. People have come out to share their frustrations and their Fearless Leader nightmare stories. No, I'm not surprised.
I'm disappointed.
Fearless Leader has enough cash to throw around on vanity projects that hemorrhage money with his name plastered where he can get it and still manages to fuck it up. This little venture should've been an easy sandbox with users truly easy to please yet you treat it like kitty litter. Even Donald Trump has dedicated fans but our guy here can't seem to buy support anymore. And that is truly sad, isn't it?
I pity the fact you couldn't even own up to your bullshit and decided alienating a user base dedicated but vulnerable in favor of your ego. You could've been a hero but now we're all beginning to see who you truly are.

Hello, friends-
I had some really great intentions of getting posts organized and reblogged as a greatest hits farewell tour package before my planned deactivation at the end of February. Alas, life has gotten in my way. Not to make excuses for that but, well here's some excuses.
First, I've had COVID twice since starting this blog and the most recent time (only a few months ago) has left me with a lot of frustrating Long Covid symptoms. I have a hard time concentrating for one, especially with reading and/or writing. Anything longer than three paragraphs is a Herculean struggle. Forcing myself through it drains my energy and doesn't mix well with my now zero energy self.
Second, the past week and a half has been spent taking care of my dad. He's a cancer survivor with a permanently compromised immune system. He too had Covid and has long Covid. He's now fighting RSV and to be quite frank and vulnerable? We're struggling and I'm a little scared.
The most I get to do in my private time recently is to quickly scroll my private tumblr feed then go to bed.
Now, since I haven't got things squared away like I want them I'm extending the farewell out to March 30, 2024 in hopes I can get some things done between now and then. Also, if things can be worked out behind the scenes (I probably shouldn't even hint at it in case it doesn't work) the archive won't be completely deactivated but that's another post for another day,
I'm kinda exhausted now so I'm gonna call it a night. Remember to reblog any posts with the post+ protest archive hashtag to help keep posts in circulation. Hoping things will lighten up this week and I'll do my own reblogs! Keep creating, keep being kind!
Lots of love,
Aunt Triple P

Thank you everyone who sent in asks this past week. I've read every one of them and they mean the world to me. A few got ate by tumblr and if I didn't answer yours, I'm so so sorry. Know I saw it, loved it, and will carry the love with me forever.
My Asks are now turned off. Thank you again for indulging with me.
Next order of business is trying to get an organized 'greatest hits' package together. Remember to tag any post you want to reblog/keep with post+ protest archive. When I have an official deactivation day, I'll make a post (that will most likely be the last) to announce it and any other pertinent info.
Much love,
Aunt Triple P

Hey, only just learned that you were leaving the day just before the asks turned off. While I'm sad to see this blog leave, I completely understand it. The goal has been completed. The paywalls were avoided. Live is now shutting down. The efforts of the protests have been reaped. The log-off worked.
Thank you, truly. My whole life up until that point when Post+ was finally taken down, I wasn't convinced that social media could make a difference. "No one's going to care, not enough people will commit." But people commited. People cared. Changes were made because of our efforts. This blog allowed me to see that social media CAN cause change, and even if the changes are small, they can lead to larger ones. Larger ones that more people will see. Larger ones that CAN'T be ignored. I used to think any form of social media, even Tumblr sometimes, ultimately wouldn't make a difference to anything on a wide scale level. But then I got to see the efforts of a protest that I and many others participated in. I'm seeing the changes other forms of social media are achieving right now.
So thank you. Thank you for helping me change my perceptions. Thank you for helping me start get rid of certain stigmas I had surrounding social media, even if I'm not quite done yet. And thank you for being a vital part of Tumblr's history.
This feels more like a letter than an ask, but I guess I had a lot to say before you said goodbye. Hope you do well wherever you go after this. I may have done the bare minimum here, but I'm glad I got to do something all the same. So, thank you, and goodbye ♥
-Bluey
Thank you for sharing this with me. Even if I could help the tiniest bit, my journey here was completely worth it. We all underestimate the sheer power of a community forging ahead together but it's a fantastic thing. Even if it's only a millimeter, we can still move mountains together.
You're doing amazing and I hope you have the best.

I find it interesting in a lot of posts where people you tell you you did good you seem hesitant to agree.
You brought people together and helped them fight for something we all thought, we all knew was important.
I hope whatever voice is telling you otherwise shuts the fuck up and you realized you did something amazing.
While we're all sad to see you go, you're leaving behind a fandom (im not sure if that's the right word) that won't let tumblr burn itself.
You are absolutely right. I've always had a hard time accepting positivity pointed in my direction. I did a damn decent job and I want to thank you for helping me accept that. Much much much love 💛

Hello! I just wanted to ask why you aren’t planning on archiving this blog? Because I thought it’d at least be a good place to archive an important part of tumblr’s recent history. But whatever your reasons are, I will respect it!
I thought a lot about turning it into an archive but for my own mental health, I think it's best to deactivate it. Though, if people are interested, people can use a tag like 'triple p archive' or 'post+ protest archive" on reblogs.
