hey what are your favorite things abt homestuck? favorite characters, panels, plot moments, anything at all that grabs you on the first read? i'm a longtime fan and so interested in what people love on first read

hi!! to start off: my top favorite character is definitely dave, hes really funny but i love the depth and complexity in his character that we started seeing later on. one of my absolute favorite things that homestuck did with the plot especially earlier on is how there would be a few plotlines or different things going on for a little while and then eventually everything would come together and it would be revealed that they were connected and it would like this epiphany moment, the first one that comes to mind is wv: ascend and i remember watching that flash with my jaw dropped. it was actually that moment that made me realize that i was going to be in it for the long haul with this comic. I also love how each character feels so individual and obviously typing quirks and text colors help with that but everyone really has their own personality and way of speaking and i love it. I also loved the running bits and callbacks that the comic had like pchooo or the acrobatic pirouette and “i cant believe your doing the fish pun thing while youre breaking up with me” with feferi and eridan but also later with meenah and vriska. I also love the music so much and the references of earlier songs in later ones bring everything together so well!! Some of my favorite flashes are jack: ascend, descend, dave: accelerate, make her pay, jade: enter, cascade, act 6 act 6 intermission 5 / vriskagram, terezi: remem8er, and collide!! the whole comic felt like such a journey and i love so many of the characters and something tells me this is one of those stories where the characters never really leave my heart. I can definitely see why someone i know reread this comic four times.
