wreckoning
what would it take
to heal all the holy men?
to feel what is real
without fear of its origins?
why should we care
that it’s tears that’s controlling them?
aren’t they the ones
who inflicted their punishment?
how can it be
that there’s still all this suffering?
didn’t we send
all that cash to their government?
hey, holy man, wipe your tears
and stop muttering
you’re helping the needy
but not nearly enough of them

[structure]
i’ve been journaling about life
love, lust and other things
a lifelong journey
is this road to recovery
but sometimes at night
in a state of expansion
when darkness feels light
and the universe dances
i recall what i wrote about
long before birth
that deep within all of us
is heaven on earth

Forayed
For days now I have been walking around without a head.
Four days now I have been talking about the dead.
Four days now. For days now.
Getting ahead of myself.

20/20 Vision • [Afterword]
This day marked the death
Of a year now gone by
For many, a year,
Full of tears – gone awry
Full of fear, full of ‘why?’
Full of ‘eye for an eye’
With regrets, full of stress –
The depression (of mind)
But at times, there was cheer,
There was light in our lives
In the peace, in the quiet,
Within reach the whole time
It’s then finally we saw,
As our wisdom took flight
That the “thing” we love most
had been strangely close-by...
It was not by our side,
On the screen, or outside
Wasn’t cooked in our kitchens,
Nor ordered online
It was something far subtler,
A *tickle* of kinds...
It graced those that Listened,
Had taken the Time
In all of that bustle
Of “regular times”
We’d drowned out that whisper
That urged us inside
The True “thing” that matters
– To which we were blind –
Is what Truly binds us:
The Oneness of life

She Runs The Universe
Warmth
more than ever
will bind those forever
who cuddled together
in cold winter weather
Birds of a feather
their souls bound forever:
in friendship
as lovers
when one is the other
Those giggles so cosmic
Her grace
and that Softness
Happy Solstice
Earth Mother
soul sisters and brothers

The Odd Couple
On paths many had walked
they walked
Past leaves,
then shrubs,
now quacking ducks
A young boy of but two years
Seen here
Tethered to a loving hand
Warmed by his father’s sweet words
Holed up in his cold weather cocooned state
A gentle smile
A tender glance
Grace
Changed had the life of the man with the fully tattooed face

Eternal
It stays,
sways
and sings
when rays take note of it.
It blooms,
bends
and bows
when wind doth blow on it.
Forever strong

For everyone —

That Little Workaholic
I express and create and let it go.
I live and laugh and let happen.
I ground myself and float away.
I slumber deeply as to wake.
I rise daily to sit with myself.
I seek and search for what is right in front of me.
Inside my world opens.
Within me is perception.
Pain and hunger prevalent.
Light and love magnificent.
This is living.
This is dying.
It’s time for this Ego to think about retiring.

Trigger/Happy.
I take offence (because I take offence) which offends my inner sentiment that, in truth, a sentence is a sentence meant to mean (for better or for worse) no more than the letters making words, like loopy lines of cursive writing.
Finger biting becomes likely when a verbal, written (or witnessed) trigger tightens the chest.
Yet, at times, it might be best to take a breath, listen to the silence deep within that really knows what’s best, beckons you to drop the stress and, yes, lay your sense of self to rest.
