Pokemon that evolve using the Leaf Stone include Gloom, Weepinbell, Exeggcute, Eevee, Nuzleaf, Pansage, and Hisuian Voltorb.

The mythical Pokemon, Mew, can only be legitimately found in the wild in the gen III game Emerald, where you need a Japan or Taiwan only event item called the Old Sea Map. A man will take you to Faraway Island on his boat and there you’ll find a wild Mew moving around in the grass on the overworld.

Oshawott and its evolutions, Dewott and Samurott, are the only Water-type starter Pokemon that aren’t part of the egg group Water 1.

Charizard is the only Pokemon in Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon that is a ride Pokemon that’s unobtainable during normal gameplay. All of the other ride Pokemon are obtainable somewhere in Alola.

In the Generation V games, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold, and Soul Silver, there is a glitch that rarely affects the ability Cute Charm. When the Pokemon with Cute Charm is in the first slot of your party and you encounter a wild Pokemon using this glitch, any Pokemon that appears has a much, much higher chance than usual of being a shiny. This only affects Pokemon that aren’t only a single gender or genderless, but does affect stationary encounters, like Drifloon.

There are eight different variants of Pikachu in hats that match Ash/Satoshi’s hats from the different anime seasons. Six of these debuted in Sun and Moon, one of them was introduced in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, and the final World Cap variation was released in Sword and Shield. These Pikachu are all male, cannot breed, cannot evolve, and can remember the move Volt Tackle. All but World Cap form can use the special Z-move 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt; there aren’t any Z-moves useable in Sword and Shield.

Because of an error in the code, in the games Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, the Incarnate form of Thundurus can learn the attack Smart Strike (via TM67), while its Therian form can’t.

Though mythical Pokemon are meant to only be available to players through set event periods in certain places or during certain downloadable event times, there are a few mythical Pokemon that are permanently available to access in some way. A few examples of this are Celebi, obtainable in the Virtual Console 3DS version of Pokemon Crystal; Jirachi, obtainable via English Bonus Disc from the Pokemon Colosseum games into Ruby and Sapphire; Magearna, available through scanning a special QR code into Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, or Ultra Moon; and Deoxys, available in the Special Episode part of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire after the main story is complete.

In Pokemon Legends Arceus, there are five rideable Pokemon and five Noble Pokemon. Four of the five rideable Pokemon are evolutions of Pokemon that existed in previous games that received new evolutions in Legends Arceus while the last one is a regional variant, and four of the five noble Pokemon are regional variants while the fifth is a new evolution of an existing Pokemon.

To change Rotom into his alternate forms in the games Heart Gold and Soul Silver, Rotom must be your following Pokemon. Having it there with you while inside of the Silph Co. building will allow you to enter the normally inaccessible broken elevator and go into a room containing the appliances it possesses.

In Generation II and Generation IV, the National Park area located north of Goldenrod City has a bug-catching contest every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday real-time. During the contest, the wild Pokemon found in the grass change from the normal encounters to only bugs, some of which can be found nowhere else in Johto. The scoring of this contest is complex, but the main factor in trying to win is to catch a rarer encounter like Pinsir or Scyther and to deal little or no damage while capturing it.

The Pokemon Noivern, a Flying- and Dragon-type, can apparently emit sound waves from its ears that are powerful enough to shatter boulders.

The unique signature move Tea Time, learned only by the Pokemon Polteageist, forces every Pokemon present in the battle to eat their held Berry regardless of effect or lack thereof. This move is Normal-type and has no further effect.

In the Pokemon games, from Generation IV onward, the Dusk Ball is a unique style of Poke Ball that usually has a 1x rate of capture, but if used at night or in a cave, this ball gets a boost to 3.5x the normal capture rate. This doesn’t work in a few indoor areas of the Generation V games, but in Generation VIII, it keeps the higher boost even during the day if it is during the Darkest Day in Sword or Shield, or on Newmoon Island in Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl.

Before release, Game Freak had to adjust the encounter rates and trainer encounter behavior in Pokemon Red and Green, as the encounter rate was so high that a player would encounter a wild Pokemon every two steps, and trainers would always start a battle upon seeing the player character even if they were already defeated. This made it difficult to move through places like Viridian Forest and Mt. Moon, as you would be constantly bombarded by battles.

In Pokemon X and Y and Pokemon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon, there is a unique encounter style called Ambush Encounters, where a wild Pokemon will leap at the player or chase them through the grass to try to force an encounter. In the Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon games, these Pokemon can drop items after being defeated or captured.

The only Generation V Pokemon that received a unique Mega form was the Normal-type Audino, who gains the Fairy-type upon Mega evolving. This Pokemon is available in the wild of Generation V games, Black and White, in any patch of rustling grass. (This is not the only Pokemon available in rustling grass, to be clear, but it has the chance of showing up in any route’s rustling grass patches!)
