I keep wondering
if it’s possible
to miss someone
you’ve never met?
✨
My friends
keep saying
that I am
just love sick.
✨
But I do,
miss you.
✨
I know
my soul
remembers you;
even if
the rest of me
doesn’t.

Like a wolf
wounded,
I will not
fall to
the ground
and
play dead.
✨
I will
continue
walking through
these woods
that are
indeed
full of dangers,
✨
but
wounded
or not
I am
still
a wolf.

Perhaps
we are
just swimming
in the ocean,
being pulled
apart
by strong
currents
out of
our control.
✨
I swim
towards you
and you
float away.
✨
My soul
sinks.
It yearns
for yours
and wishes
it could
drown
but then
the sight
of you
makes it
breathe
underwater.

Here’s what
I learned
from the moon:
You don’t always
have to be whole
in order
to shine.
But on those
occasions
when you are,
you will shine
and radiate
so strongly
that you will
have an effect
on all
human beings
and you
will move
the sea.

Reasons Why I Hate It When My Favorite Character Dies In A Book
1. It's a constant reminder that nobody is immune to dying; not even fictional characters.
2. It makes me relive the pain. The pain of those who stay.
3. I spend hours afterwards contemplating the book’s meaning. I wonder the same about life. If we all die, what's the true purpose?
4. Mostly I just hate it because the book ends at the most interesting part. It leaves me hungry for answers. How do those who are left behind deal with the loss? How does it change them? Do they ever move on? Fall in love again? Is there a day when they don't think about it? This is the book I need to read!
5. All of my favorite characters end up dead. What does that say about me?
6. I am forced to face the fact that I don't know how to grieve. I don't grieve humans, animals or fictional characters. I put them in a special place within my mind where they get to live out all the missing days of their lives.
7. I hate it when my favorite characters dies in a book because it doesn't feel like fiction anymore. It feels like real life.

Broken hearts are overrated.
Your put your trust into somebody and make them yours, because you don’t want to be alone. The wounds of your childhood seem to magically mend just by sharing your bed with someone and making them a part of your life. Finally, you’re not alone. Finally, you feel loved. Finally, nobody can tell you how you’re not good enough, because finally, somebody wants you and calls you ‘mine.’ And then … life happens. Passion fades, trust gets broken, one of you leaves the other. And you’re in pain.
You call it a broken heart.
But … your heart was never whole to begin with.

I have this image in my head:
We’re standing at the edge of the ocean.
I look to you.
You look back at me.
We’re at peace.
Finally. It all makes sense.
I wish I could go back in time and tell our past selves that we end up happy after all; we end up together, at the edge of the ocean, against all odds.
I take hold of your hand.
You squeeze mine.
I am home.

You strip me
of my clothes,
my skin,
my flesh,
until I am
just bones.
You touch
those bones
with good intentions,
but they still
end up
breaking.
