YES THIS RIGHT HERE!!

SUF was way too harsh on Steven in some point. I get that they wanted to show the effects of the original series on Steven, but I think that it could have been made in a less violent way. Plus I think that we should have seen Steven sessions with a psychologist, if only to see him heal instead of just skipping it to him going away on a road trip. Plus this never gave us answers on some important questions.

This is a good one. Yeah, I completely agree that it’s way too harsh of a series. Honestly, there’s points where the show literally feels like misery porn. I have to sit through, like, 17 episodes of Steven feeling like everyone he loves is moving on, moving away, doesn’t give a shit about him, watching his entire support structure fall apart. Then I have 2 episodes of him having a complete breakdown.

And then... you just say “Oh, he’s in therapy. He’s getting better.” WHAT? Why the fuck did I sit through all that misery? And then in the final episode Steven is going around giving everyone goodbye presents? The gems still aren’t emotionally opening up and caring for him the way he needs? Everyone in Beach City waves goodbye from the Big Donut instead of, like, a party?

It’s a great show, I love it but... yeah. I don’t know why they decided to go that direction with the ending or the pacing of the show.

I do have a theory though.

These two vanished, and there’s no credit for story editors that I can find in SUF, just writers. Sooooo... THAT’S MY GUESS.

Unpopular opinion: no discourse but i really do not like jasper as a character or at all

mmm gonna have to disagree. However, even though i like her, I think the way more die-hard jasper fans aggressively defend her puts other people off. It took me a really long time to warm up to her.

There were literally fans that stanned jasper immediately after the return, even though she was nothing but a brute at that point? I didn’t get it at all. I took no sides in the lapis/jasper war but I get that she was abused in the whole malachite relationship. I also get that, because lapis is dainty and jasper is absolutely built, many people unjustly blamed jasper for a situations that was actually lot more grey. It wasn’t till beta/earthlings aired that we finally got a good look into her psyche, and although she still wasn’t my favourite, I could appreciate the complexity in her character.

It was her appearance in suf that finally tipped me over, how she played off of steven was amazing. This time she wasn’t just complex, but very entertaining to watch. I definitely made a post about finally becoming a jasper stan when little homeschool aired. Liking jasper really was a journey for me

What do you think about Blue Lace Agate being an Agate with a quartz body type? I was kinda iffy about that gem name cause she doesn't even look like an Agate. Its easy to mistake her as a Quartz and that just doesn't sit right with me.

Well, Agates share an almost identical body type as quartzes cause they are quartz gems as well. I don’t think she has to look exactly like holly blue to be considered an agate. However we don’t really know anything about her from before. For all we know, she could’ve been a crystal gem before being corrupted, and part of her rebellion look was letting down her hair(?) Maybe her hair was kept in a big, curly bun, with the wavy curls that flow down to her chest. Or maybe her hair was always down, and she just dressed a bit more formal than a quartz soldier due to her position in the caste system.

That also brings me to another point, which is that the highest ranking type of agates are holly blue agates, due the lack of markings on her gem, which could be considered impurities. This would make her be the exemplary agate by design.

However I really like blue lace agate’s design and I like the diversity within a shared class of gem.
